Hagan Put Judge Up for Federal Appointment As Judge Ruled on Husband’s Million-Dollar Lawsuit

Kay Hagan

Claimed she was unaware of connection

(Well, of course not.........)

================================

Just a week after Sen. Kay Hagan (D., N.C.) recommended a North Carolina judge to President Barack Obama for a seat in the U.S. District Court, the judge ruled in favor of a company partially owned by Hagan’s husband.

The senator’s husband, Charles T. “Chip” Hagan, was a managing member of Hydrodyne Industries LLC when it sued a regional water authority for drawing water out of a river that had one of its hydroelectric dams built on. The lawsuit sought millions of dollars in damages and was carried out by Chip Hagan’s legal firm.

Superior Court Judge Calvin E. Murphy ruled the case in favor of Hydrodyne, setting the table for the Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority to pay millions in damages to companies including Hydrodyne.

Murphy’s ruling was made on Oct. 23, 2009, just nine days after Sen. Hagan sent his name to Obama to be nominated for a lifetime seat on the U.S. District Court for Western North Carolina.

  1. Wow. How can anyone support her? She has to go.
    Please pass this on to everyone you know in N.C.

    Thanks for sharing this news.

    1. Certainty and is seems as though she is slowly being overcome, not that Tillis would be the best choice.

  2. I know I'm not the only on who is sick enough to puke over this lesser of two evils crap. The Rs will take the Senate, gloat like grade school children for a few weeks then do their very best the D's pile of excrement and turn it into a bucket of diarrhea and then pour it through the fan of low public expectations.

    1. The Tea Party activists need to learn to stop dividing their forces. We got this POS Tillis because there were two known real conservatives on the primary ballot. Their combined vote was greater than the Tillis vote. Eric Cantor got his ass kicked because he came up against a SINGLE determined opponent. An important lesson that must be learned moving forward.

    1. Too many Yankees in the cities. :) My wife, her brother and sister went to Florida to make some money as Morehead City nail shops have increased from 5 to 16 in the six years she owned one there with little change in population. Well, you can make more money there, but they all complained of the rudeness of everyone, from the workers to the customers, virtually all contacted. The Yankees have really ruined that once beautiful state. I called a real estate agent there to help them out and she was rudest personified. As I hung up, I told her I was certainly glad I didn't live there.
