Putin: Speak politely, but carry guns, too

You could call it a Teddy Roosevelt moment: Russian President Vladimir Putin offered an extemporaneous adage Tuesday that sounded a whole lot like a twist on "big stick" diplomacy.

“You can do a lot more with weapons and politeness than just politeness,” Putin said, according to several Russian news outlets.
