For as long as I can remember, I was taught that on Jan. 1, it was important to eat certain foods for good luck and prosperity. It was a tradition that my family never omitted on the first day of any year.

First in importance, tradition says, is the inclusion of black-eyed peas in your New Year's Day menu.

The most widely told story says that during the Civil War, black-eyed peas were a prevalent crop in the South. The peas were primarily grown as food for livestock, and they did well in the soil and climate of the Southern states.

1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code

When Ford introduced the new Thunderbird to the world in 1955, company press releases positioned it as a “high performance personal car…a result of public demand for a distinctly different American made vehicle combining all-weather passenger car comfort, convenience and safety with top maneuverability.” But Ford was already planning an assault on the Thunderbird’s main target, Chevrolet’s Corvette. Hinting at the horsepower wars to come, both cars went from strength to strength. In 1957 Ford countered the new Corvette 283/283 HP fuel-injected small-block with a supercharged version of the Thunderbird 312 CI V-8. Dubbed the “F-code,” the supercharged 312 engine featured a single four-barrel carburetor directly force-fed by a Paxton-built McCulloch centrifugal supercharger and was rated at 300 HP.

Liberals’ use of black people

Via Billy

http://sumter.static2.adqic.com/uploads/medium/1406075980_b424.jpg

Back in the day, when hunting was the major source of food, hunters often used stalking horses as a means of sneaking up on their quarry. They would walk on the opposite side of the horse until they were close enough to place a good shot on whatever they were hunting. A stalking horse not only concealed them but also, if their target was an armed man and they were discovered, would take the first shot. That’s what blacks are to liberals and progressives in their efforts to transform America -- stalking horses.

ferry muslim killing women and children

The media and Western elites will explain this away by saying, It’s a cultural thing. Like honor killing, female genital mutilation, etc. What culture is it? The Islamic culture. So forgive me for not embracing multiculturalism. The West is best.

Under Islam, women are chattel, less than men. Their response was not quite what we saw on, say …. the Titanic.

No Sacrifice Too Great for Independence

 http://izquotes.com/images/judah-philip-benjamin.jpg
"I will never be taken alive."
Judah P. Benjamin, Secretary of State, CSA
to Dr. Moses Hoge

Confederate Secretary of State Judah P. Benjamin was one of the most vocal advocates of arming the slaves to fight the North and offering freedom in return for defending their country. He said in February 1865, “Let us say to every Negro who wishes to go into the ranks on condition of being made free, “Go and fight – you are free.” Let us imitate [the Yankees] in this. I would imitate them in nothing else.”
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com

No Sacrifice Too Great for Independence

“On 12 October [1864] a radical editorial appeared in the [Richmond] Sentinel. Probably influenced by [Judah P.] Benjamin, it wrote that the South “would sooner sacrifice slavery a thousand times than to be conquered by the Yankees and have it sacrificed by them. If it becomes necessary we can enlist the Negro element on our side. We can make all the offers that the Yankees can, and some they cannot.”

Other editorials in somewhat similar vein followed on 14 and 24 November – after Lincoln had been re-elected and Sherman was marching to the sea. In the latter editorial the Sentinel flatly advocated the arming of the slaves in case General Lee and the other military authorities felt it was necessary for Southern success.

The Negroes who fought in the ranks were to be given their freedom at the end of the war. For it was not a case, the Sentinel said, where the Confederate people could cling to pre-conceived notions and prejudices about slavery. If they did not arm the Negroes to fill their depleted ranks, they were likely to lose their independence, and no sacrifice was too great to keep them from getting under the Yankee yoke.

Simultaneously with the appearance of these editorials the Confederate Congress had assembled on 7 November, and Jefferson Davis, reputedly on Benjamin’s suggestion, recommended the employment of 40,000 slaves in the army but not to be used as soldiers except in the last extremity; after the war they were to be emancipated.

It was an opening wedge for the use of large numbers of Negro troops in the Confederate ranks . . . [and] General Lee, Governor Smith of Virginia, Senator Brown and Benjamin argued ably for the measure on the ground of military necessity. In a letter on 21 December to his old college-mate Frederick Porcher of Charleston, who had written him primarily to urge the arming of the slaves, Benjamin indicated that President Davis was only waiting for public opinion to ripen on the subject.

Early in February, 1865, the Confederate peace commissioners, Judge Campbell, Alexander H. Stephens, and R.M.T. Hunter, returned from their unsuccessful meeting with Lincoln and Seward at Fortress Monroe. A mass meeting was then held in the African Church at Richmond on 9 February to rally the people for a further desperate effort. The African Church, then the largest auditorium in Richmond, was frequently borrowed from its Negro members for such assemblies.

{Judah Benjamin spoke] “I want all the bacon, everything which can feed soldiers, and I want it as a free gift to the country. Talk of rights! What rights do the arrogant invaders leave you? Look to the trenches below Richmond. Is it not a shame that men who have sacrificed all in our defence should not be reinforced with all the means in our power? Is it any time now for antiquated patriotism to argue refusal to send them aid, be it white or black?

I wish to call your attention to some figures, which I wish you to seriously ponder. In 1860 the South had 1,664,000 arms-bearing men. How many men have the Yankees send against us? In 1861, 654,000; in 1862, 740,000; in 1863, 700,000; in 1864 they called out 1,500,000.

Here you have the figures that they brought out 3,000,000 men against 1,664,000 Confederates., who lived at the beginning of the war to draw sword in their country’s service. Our resources of white population have greatly diminished, but you had 680,000 black men of the same ages, and could Divine prophesy have told us of the fierceness of the enemy’s death grapple at our throats, could we have known what we now know, that Lincoln has confessed, that without 200,000 Negroes which he stole from us, he would be compelled to give up the contest, should we have entertained any doubts upon the subject?”

Solving the Police Problem: If They Don't Want to be Policed, Don't Police Them

 http://www.slate.com/content/dam/slate/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2014/10/141013_POL_WashingtonCop.jpg.CROP.promovar-mediumlarge.jpg

It may well come to this.

It is obvious, is it not, that all of the recent problems with the police have occurred because cops keep meddling with people. If the fuzz had left Rodney King alone, Los Angeles would not have burned. If the cop in Ferguson had not stopped Michael Brown after he robbed the store, the town would not have burned. If a New York cop had not tried to keep from selling illegal cigarettes, there would be no protests. If OJ Simpson had not been prosecuted for murdering his wife, racial tension would have been less. On and on.

It is blindingly clear that nothing but trouble results when cops interact with criminals in places of high diversity. It makes no sense to meddle. It is racism. It is irresponsible. It leads to arson. It needs to stop.

And it can.

If you were a young white cop just out of the academy, and asked my advice, I would say, "When on the street, mind your own business." For example, if you see a drug dealer on the corner peddling rock, what should you do? Nothing. Doing nothing protects you, protects the dealer, and keeps the locals from burning the neighborhood. As a police officer, it is your duty to protect.

Confessions of a Public Defender

 Stats

Dated

Still liberal after all these years.

I am a public defender in a large southern metropolitan area. Fewer than ten percent of the people in the area I serve are black but over 90 per cent of my clients are black. The remaining ten percent are mainly Hispanics but there are a few whites.

I have no explanation for why this is, but crime has racial patterns. Hispanics usually commit two kinds of crime: sexual assault on children and driving under the influence. Blacks commit many violent crimes but very few sex crimes. The handful of whites I see commit all kinds of crimes. In my many years as a public defender I have represented only three Asians, and one was half black.
As a young lawyer, I believed the official story that blacks are law abiding, intelligent, family-oriented people, but are so poor they must turn to crime to survive. Actual black behavior was a shock to me.

The media invariably sugarcoat black behavior. Even the news reports of the very crimes I dealt with in court were slanted. Television news intentionally leaves out unflattering facts about the accused, and sometimes omits names that are obviously black. All this rocked my liberal, tolerant beliefs, but it took me years to set aside my illusions and accept the reality of what I see every day. I have now served thousands of blacks and their families, protecting their rights and defending them in court. What follow are my observations.

Nine Killed With Stolen Gun – In Gun Free Canada!

Seven adults and two children have died in a mass shooting in the Gun-Free Canadian city of Edmonton, Alberta.

Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht said the gunman used a stolen 9mm handgun which he used to kill all eight victims and later turned on himself. He said it was the worst mass killing in Edmonton since six people were killed in 1956 calling it a “senseless mass murder” linked to “extreme domestic violence.”

The Battle of Huertgen Forest. Germany: September 19 to December 16, 1944

 https://s3.amazonaws.com/readers/2009/12/21/thebattleofthebulgetimeline2_1.jpg

 Part 2 of 4

 Mike Scruggs

Part 1 of this series related the story of how my friend, Howd Mosher (1922-2005) was badly wounded by German machine-gun fire in the battle for Lucherberg, near the northern fringe of the Huertgen Forest area.  Howd was saved from bleeding to death by a German medic. The Battle of Huertgen Forest was really a series of small but fierce high-casualty battles that occurred between September 19 and December 16, 1944. The principal American objectives were (1) to protect the right flank of Lt. General Courtney Hodges’ First U.S. Army (approximately 150,000 troops) as they advanced past the Inde and Roer Rivers as an intermediate objective before advancing to the Rhine and its major industrial cities and (2) to prevent the Germans from using the major dams on the Roer River to flood the areas west of the Inde and Roer. The Huertgen Forest Battle included an area of about 50 to 70 square miles both in the forest itself, the bordering towns, and the flatter and less thickly forested areas along the Inde and Roer rivers.

General Eisenhower also believed the battles would help grind down the dwindling German Army by attrition, but the Germans turned out to be much stronger than Allied Intelligence believed.
On October 2, the First Army made the first major American penetration of the Siegfried Line at Aachen, a city of 160,000 near the Belgian border. The Siegfried Line was a highly fortified series of tank obstacles, pill boxes, and natural water obstacles along the Dutch, Belgian, Luxembourg, and French borders of Germany. The Siegfried Line went right through the center of Aachen and other German cities on the border, because the larger buildings and narrow streets near the center of German cities and towns made them difficult for Allied offensive armored maneuver and warfare. The Germans evacuated the civilian population of Aachen as the battle commenced. The Germans finally surrendered the city on October 21, allowing the First Army to advance east to the Inde River and then the Roer River.

The U.S 104th Infantry Division, commanded by Major General Terry Allen, had been assisting the British in the southeastern Netherlands until November 15. They officially rejoined the First Army and crossed from Belgium into to Germany south of Aachen on that day. The 104th “Timberwolves,” as they were called, were the first U.S. Army division specifically trained for night fighting.  Their training area in Eastern Oregon also equipped them to operate in heavily forested areas. They captured Stolberg (population now, 56,000), 10 miles east of Aachen, on the 16th.  On November 21, they took the town of Eschweller. By December 1, they had already been engaged against the 246th German Infantry Division at Inden (population now, 7,000) on the Inde River. The 246th Volksgrenadiers were heavily armed with mobile assault guns, hunter-tanks, and anti-tank weapons on the east side of the Inde.  On the night of December 2, Timberwolf assault troops crossed the frigid and fast-flowing waist deep waters of the 25-foot wide Inde with fixed bayonets. They surprised the Germans and captured 50 “very frightened” young German soldiers near the center of town. Within 24 hours, they had cleared the Germans from Inden and the west side of the Inde River. The German artillery bombardment on Inde and its environs was said to be the heaviest of the war—a sure sign the Germans had no intention of letting the Americans get past the Roer.

I-Company of the 415th Regiment, which I believe was Howd Mosher’s company, immediately carried the momentum southeast to Lucherberg with German artillery still raining down on them but causing no casualties in the dark night. Lucherberg was situated on a hill rising about 500 feet above the Inde River on its west side. The Roer River could also be seen to the east from the hill.
The population of Lucherberg was only about 500, but it played an important part in the German defense of the area. The north side of the hill upon which Lucherberg rested was very steep. Most of Lucherberg’s buildings were built of large, heavy bricks.

I-Company started up this steep north incline in the very early hours of December 3. A German: Panzer tank fired at them from the top of the hill but hit nothing in the darkness. A few bazooka rounds hastened its withdrawal. I-Company had been reduced to about 100 men because of attrition from both combat and non-combat casualties. Normal strength would have been about 170 men.
Northwest Germany and the Northern Rhineland are normally rainy, damp, muddy, and cold in autumn, but the autumn and early winter months of 1944 were the wettest in two decades. Infantry troops were frequently covered with mud and cold slime for days or weeks. Serious respiratory conditions including bronchitis and pneumonia were common, taking men out of combat for weeks. Frostbite and especially “trench foot” caused many casualties. Dysentery and bowel problems were a continuous plague, making infantry life miserable and depressing. Fear was a frequent visitor. Combat troops often got little sleep or real rest for long periods. Combine these with the helpless feeling and uncertainties of frequent artillery bombardment, and you have a perfect formula for high rates of combat fatigue or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

At the same time I-Company was entering the north side of town and engaging in building to building infantry battle, the remaining 421 troops of the 3rd Battalion of the 9th Regiment of the German 3rd Parachute Division was entering Lucherberg on the opposite side. I-Company was able to capture four buildings and 15 prisoners, but Lieutenant John Olsen, the company commander, received fatal wounds. More German infantry from the 246th Division’s 404th Regiment began to arrive, and a confused situation soon developed with American held houses divided from one another by German troops or German fire.

Emil Weiss, a grenadier in company 6 of the 404th recorded that: “Combat was very tough, especially the hand-to-hand fighting.” As the battle progressed, the German paratroopers were able to set up three machine-gun positions that blocked American advance with devastating crossfire. Meanwhile, Hitler's favorite "fireman" and most aggressive Field Marshall, Walter Model, took an interest in keeping Lucherberg..

Black Soldiers on Both Sides

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51f46NJ4oXL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

The first black unit, including black line officers, in the War Between the States was the Louisiana Native Guards of New Orleans, accepted into State service by Governor Thomas D. Moore on May 2, 1861. The Daily Crescent assured its readers that “They will fight the Black Republicans with as much determination and gallantry as any body of white men in the service of the Confederate States.” The author below illustrates that black men served on both sides.
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com

Black Soldiers on Both Sides

“Chapter XX: In Which is Recalled the Fact Negroes Served on Both Sides In That War and Yankee Recruiters Fished a Long Way From Home and Hardly Got Their Bait Back.

The Civil War wasn’t entirely a white man’s fight. Negroes served in both the Federal and Confederate forces. Soon after Edmund Ruffin pulled the trigger at Charleston, Negroes tried to enlist in both the Northern and Southern armies but their services, as was the case in the Revolution, were at first declined.

This attitude changed rather quickly in the North. The Federal Congress, in July of 1862, passed a law permitting the enlistment of Negro troops. Their pay at first was fixed at $10 a month compared to $16.50 for white troops. Fred Douglas protested to Lincoln and Old Abe told him that if he were a Negro he’d be glad to fight for his freedom free of charge. Douglas and the other Negro leaders continued to protest and the pay differential was wiped out.

Negro troops were used in the main by the North for garrison duty and labor forces and, after Appomattox, for occupation duty in the South; but they saw action in 250 battles and skirmishes, including the Battle of the Crater at Petersburg in which Negro troops were scheduled to have led the charge after that mine was exploded. They missed the assignment due to a foul-up in orders.

Northern governors sent 1,405 agents into captured areas of the South in an attempt to recruit Negro slaves to help fill their State draft quotas but business was mighty poor. They worked for several months but got only 5,052 recruits. When the war ended there were 178,975 Negroes in the Yankee armies, comprising 116 regiments.

In the South, free Negroes came forward at first in large numbers to offer their services to the Confederacy. Richard Kennard of Petersburg gave $100. Jordan Chase, of Vicksburg, gave a horse and authorized the government to draw on him for $500. Down in New Orleans, Thomy Lafon gave $500. An Alabama Negro gave 100 bushels of sweet potatoes. At Charleston a little Negro girl gave twenty-five cents. Confederate war bonds found many Negro subscribers (The Negro in the Civil War, Quarles).

Negroes by the thousands were employed in Southern war factories. Free Negroes were paid the prevailing wage. Slaves impressed into service were given food, shelter and clothing and their owners paid $25 a month. If a slave ran away or died, the owner was paid $354.

Negroes in the South rendered their greatest service to the Confederacy by tilling the farms and taking care of the folks at home while the white men were at the front. The slaves could have ended the War overnight had they chosen to rise in rebellion. Southern armies would have headed back home en masse at even the rumor of such a development.

As the War dragged on, the need for men became finally so desperate the Confederate Congress, acting on the recommendation of General Lee and the governors of North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi, passed a law in March of 1865 authorizing enlistment of Negroes, both slave and free.

They were to be paid the same as white troops; and slaves, if they remained loyal through the War, were to be set free. President Davis signed the law on March 13. It was less than a month before Lee’s surrender.”

Winston-Salem Journal:
Davidson County deputies arrested a man who was walking around a neighborhood with an assault rifle, according to a news release today from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
Danny Gray Lambeth, 51, of Old U.S. 52 in Winston-Salem was charged with going armed to the terror of the public.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the area of 10711 Old U.S. 52 on Saturday after receiving a report of a man walking around residences with an assault rifle. During the investigation, Lambeth was identified as the suspect.
Lambeth was placed in the Davidson County Jail with bond set at $1,000. He is scheduled to appear in Davidson District Court on Jan. 29, 2015.
Let’s ignore for the sake of argument the idiotic press report about this being an “assault rifle” (which is wasn’t unless it had select fire mode).

Gun rights leaders told Guns & Patriots that merging ATF into FBI would provide a means for ATF to hide the kind of rogue activity that has plagued the agency for decades.

“I can’t think of anything more dangerous against gun rights than merging the ATF with the FBI,” said Richard J. Feldman, president of New Hampshire-based Independent Firearm Owners Association. “I would much rather have a stand-alone agency because it is much easier to criticize the ATF for misconduct, than to criticize the FBI.”

California Mosque Christmas Day Attack Turns Out Not as Police, Media, ‘Islamophobia’ Grievance Industry Expect: it was a Muslim

Screen Shot 2014-12-30 at 12.43.55 AM

More faked hate. And still no media mea culpa.

As I pointed out yet again last week when the latest FBI released the latest hate crime stats, claims about “Islamophobia” are false. Most religiously motivated hate crimes were anti-Jewish, and Muslims suffered fewer total incidents than many groups and fewer per capita than gays or Jews.

The myth of islamophobia is an industry, the big lie, to silence critics of jihad and Islam. And every time another mosque is “attacked,” media heads explode with cries of racism (Islam  is not a race) and hate. They never report the follow-up story — the kicker — that the perp is Muslim. More often than not, the attacker is Muslim — so as to give proof to the lie of islamofauxbia.

Geographical mix-up brings PA boy to SC to hunt with sheriff

A little boy desperately wanted to go hunting with anybody who might have taken him. So when Alex Collins saw the invitation from the Chester County Sheriff on the department's Facebook page, he jumped at the chance and wrote a letter.

In it, 9-year-old Alex said he doesn't have anyone to teach him to hunt.

"It's just me and my Mom and she's too sick to do stuff," the note explained. "She has a bad heart. I think you are really nice to do this. I hope you pick me to go."

The boy hand-delivered the letter to the Sheriff's Office, the only problem, he lives in Chester County, Pennsylvania and the invitation was from the sheriff in Chester County, South Carolina.
It was a simple mistake. It has turned into one of the most touching stories you'll see this holiday season.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! (With Apologies To Jim Nabors)

The conservative voters who cast their ballots for Republicans on the basis of their opposition to Presidential amnesty, Obamacare, out of control spending and the like are at this point disappointed, dare I say angry at the mainline Republicans aligning with Democrats to pass yet another massive spending bill. If this were just a short term continuing resolution too keep government functioning until the new congress is seated the reaction might not have been so visceral, but this was a 7 month funding bill and little more than a sell out to Wall Street.

None of us should be terribly surprised really.  What the politicians and the news media doesn't want the public to know is that when it comes to inside the beltway there are three political affiliations.  You have those who call themselves Republicans, those who call themselves Democrats and most importantly those who are owned, lock, stock and barrel, body and soul, by the Wall Street financial interests.  Of this latter group, this affiliation to Wall Street is binding and they merely disguise themselves as either Republicans or Democrats.

This is the result of the existence of several factors. Namely that we have allowed ourselves to become burdened with career politicians (no term limits on Congressional offices), we have stolen the sovereignty of the individual states with the passage of the 17th amendment and we have allowed Congress to abrogate its responsibilities under Article I Section 8 of the Constitution by its creation of the Federal Reserve Bank and allowing it to control the creation of the nation's currency.

Supremes asked: How long will you let Obama make it up?

 obamacare_trainwreck

A team of constitutional-law experts filed a brief Monday with the U.S. Supreme Court asking the justices if they are willing to allow President Obama to continue making up the law as he goes.

The brief by the American Center for Law and Justice asks the court to reject IRS regulations that illegally authorize tax subsidies for purchasers of health insurance on federal exchanges.

The case is one of several that could create a massive roadblock for Obamacare. The law is written so that only those who obtain insurance through state-established exchanges qualify for federal subsidies.

But the IRS, in violation of the plain language of the law, has allowed the granting of subsidies to people obtaining insurance through federal exchanges. A reversal could mean a loss of subsidies for participants in 36 states, where consumers would see immediate and massive rate hikes.

NC: East Henderson Student's Suicide Sparks Bullying Discussion

If her parents knew about this, why didn't they attack the problem?  If this happened to my daughter, I imagine I would be in jail for the rest of my life or dead once caught.

Amber's last Facebook post just before her suicide was heartbreaking. She asked if she died that night, "Would anyone cry?"

At the visitation at Jackson Funeral Services, a long line answers the East Henderson High student's question.

"I've been crying for days now," says Sierra Crochet, who's known her since first grade.

"She had that sense of humor that could a smile on your face," says friend Stephanie Hernandez.

Amber had so much to live for. She was an A-B honor roll student., a tennis player, a dancer, and member of the All County Chorus.

Ain't my Army

After reading the comments, I guess there is hope. My favorite below. :)

You mean that my DI was being mean to me when he called me the lowest form of life on the planet and that my parents were actually brother and sister? That I marched like a monkey f-ing a football? Wow, I thought that was normal IN THE MILITARY! Guess it's all feminized and pussified now.

Army Thanks Soldier For Confronting Offensive Behavior Online

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and senior Army officials met with a senior non-commissioned officer Dec 15 to thank her for leading by example and defending Army values, despite facing harassment after confronting Service members who were behaving unethically online.

First Sgt. Katrina Moerk, now the first sergeant of Charlie Company, 741st Military Intelligence Battalion, was browsing a social media network's community page earlier this year, when she came upon a video that she found offensive and sexist. When she commented as much, several respondents attacked her with insults. Some of these respondents were wearing uniforms in their profile photos, the first sergeant said, so she wrote to them directly.

Africa’s Heritage of Slavery

 http://www.africanamericancharleston.com/images/headers/lowcountry.jpg

Many of the already-enslaved Africans brought to the Americas had been slave hunters or slave owners in their native land, and caught in constant tribal warfare. In America, even renegade maroon communities that are mentioned in the underground railroad myth are known to have enslaved runaway slaves they came in contact with. Leader of the Amistad revolt, Cinque, returned to African and resumed his profession of slave-trading.
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com

Africa’s Heritage of Slavery

“While many plantation slaves ran away or took part in slave revolts, many others resisted such rebels, defended the plantation against maroons and chased runaways. Such activities even by slaves against their fellow blacks should not be too surprising considering that in Africa many blacks owned slaves, and probably most Africans enslaved there for slavery in the Americas, were captured and sold to Europeans by fellow Africans. Indeed, some slaves in America had been slave hunters and slave hunters and slave owners in Africa.

Most slaves in the Americas probably took the institution of slavery, if not their own place in it, pretty much for granted. While some free Negroes assisted fellow blacks who were enslaved, most appeared to be more concerned with their own advancement in colonial society, and if they had any political or social consciousness, it evidently was aimed at the preservation and advancement of the status, rights and privileges of the free Negro class, even at the expense sometimes of the slave caste.

“The mulattos, and all other persons of mixed blood wish to lean toward the whites,” Koster tells us from Brazil. They are again distinct from their brethren in slavery, owing to their superior position as free men . . . and considering themselves superior to the Negro. Mulattos and other mixed bloods were noticeably absent from many of the slave rebellions” in early 19th century Brazil, and indeed, “some were killed by rebels for failing to join the insurrection . . . ” Some of the freedmen and freedwomen were themselves slaveowners, and although the whites always feared the collaboration of the free coloreds and the slaves, there was little evidence of it.

[T]here are many instances where free blacks held other blacks as slaves. It was fairly common in most colonies for some free Negroes to have their own slaves. One study found a quarter or more of free colored people owning slaves in the early 19th-century British Caribbean, three-quarters of these owners being women and mulattoes. Nor was it unusual for maroon communities . . . to have their own black slaves among them, just as some blacks had Indian slaves and some Indians had black slaves, and some Indians had Indian slaves.

Maroons, Genovese reminds us, “often enslaved captives,” including black slaves of whites. The maroons were often not popular with free blacks or slaves, who resented their bandit activities on the roads where their main victims were traveling blacks, and also their “making free with slaves provisions, stock and women folk.” [T]he theories of race, class and African solidarity were little recognized.

They want peace. No really. And the New York Times is just a dispassionate observer looking for reform and change. Not mass murder.

But Nicholas Kristof had one of his “Take the Mask Off Moments” when the radical left shows how ugly and unhinged it really is despite its facade of dinner parties and book clubs and that its media outlets promote violence.

And so he invited readers to send in poems about the usual stuff. Bunnies. Flowers. Killing all white people and burning America to the ground. And the emphasis was not on the bunnies and flowers.

Here’s a deranged screech of hate/incitement to violence that the leftist paper of record saw fit to run.

When a history of the American Presidency for the last fifty years is compiled, listed among the most curious aspects of those five decades of presidential administrations will be the inclusion of Alfred Charles Sharpton as a ‘trusted presidential advisor’ to the Obama Administration.Countless photographs from presidential and news media archives will show Alfred virtually glowing in his self-importance, seated at the side of the president.

Alfred Charles Sharpton, born in New York City on October 3rd, in 1954 has shown that in America anything is possible.A person with no talent or abilities, of questionable character and certainly offering nothing of substance, can raise himself above the humble beginnings he was born into and achieve prestige and importance among the highest levels of American government.A true American con-artist success story.

Beliefs that my generation held as sacred are now null and void. If Capt. John Paul Jones were asked to surrender today, he would not answer “I have not yet begun to fight” but “Let’s work this out.

Violence is never the answer, and all these dead bodies in the ocean are an environmental hazard.”
Also, we can’t seem to shoot offhand anymore. We no longer walk; we sit. And thanks to the current long-range craze, the idea of sneaking to get a closer shot at something is as alien as going afield without four electronic devices that you consult every two and a half minutes.

Was Lincoln An American Robespierre?

 VERBATIM

by Al Benson Jr.

Those who have studied some world history will recognize the name of Robespierre, a French socialist revolutionary during the days of the French Revolution--that epoch of the Enlightenment. Nesta Webster, an English historian, commented on Robespierre when she said: "Robespierre regarded anarchy simply as a means to an end--the reconstruction of society according to the plan he had evolved with the co-operation of Saint Just, which was simply an embryonic form of the system known later as state socialism." So, history testifies that Robespierre was a socialist, out to transform society into what he thought it should be--and naturally, it was all to be for the "good" of mankind. That seems to be what socialists do best. The fact that, in their quest for the "betterment" of mankind they end up killing thousands or hundreds of thousands never seems to bother them or their adherents all that much. They did it all for our "good" even if we have to be dead to appreciate it.

He was willing to justify whatever methods he used to accomplish his desired ends, anarchy, terror, or whatever. He felt that if any of these helped to accomplish his agenda (state socialism) then they must automatically be good. For socialists the ends always justify the means. That is a cardinal point of their theology--and it is a theology, make no mistake.

In our own history we have an updated 1860s version of Robespierre--Abraham Lincoln. The "great emancipator" of abolitionist myth and legend has been compared to Robespierre by some historians and writers.

E. A. Pollard, editor of the Richmond Examiner during the War of Northern Aggression, has written much about how the North prosecuted the war. His 750 page book The Lost Cause is worthwhile reading for serious students of that period of our history. Pollard didn't always agree with the Davis administration, but even for that, you can still get a lot out of what he wrote.

In writing of the prevailing climate in the North during the early days of the War, Pollard noted that: "Much of the apparent unanimity which prevailed in favor of the war was the result of terror. The people of the North seem to have a peculiar dread of public opinion."  In writing of the actions of the Yankee/Marxist government Pollard said: "But very effective measures were taken by the Government in aid of this spontaneous  instinct of terror. They revived the system of espionage and arrests which had been employed in France by Robespierre and Fouche. At first it was pretended that the arrested persons held secret correspondence with the Southern authorities; but soon all disguise and hypocrisy were thrown off, and arrests were made on charges, even suspicion, of mere disloyalty." In other words, just disagreeing with the Lincoln administration, without even doing anything, was enough to get you thrown in the slammer.

Pollard noted, quite accurately, that, in the North, there was really no need of arbitrary arrests, as the war was far distant and the country was not really invaded--excepting Maryland and Pennsylvania later in the war.

However, Pollard stated: "Yet a system of terror was established, which could only have been warrantable  at the South...Yet in the first weeks of the war, a system of arbitrary and despotic seizure and imprisonment was inaugurated, which continued even after the surrenders of Lee and Johnston.  The number of arbitrary arrests that were made in the whole period of the war is variously estimated at from ten to thirty thousand, the great mass of arrested persons never had a trial, and knew nothing of the charges, if any at all, on which they were being imprisoned."

Some were even informed that, should they request legal counsel, such an action would be "distasteful to the Government,  and would prejudice their applications for trial and release." But, then, the quest for simple justice has, and continues to be, "distasteful" to tyrants!

Here’s an excerpt from the column:

Georgia Town Bans Muslims from Doing the One Thing They Want to Do Most

Kennesaw

The City Council of Kennesaw, Georgia has voted against allowing an Islamic religious group to rent space to open a local mosque. The vote was held as protestors outside City Hall waved signs saying “Ban Islam.” Although one council member voted to approve the application, four other members voted against the request. There was no debate about the vote.

Kennesaw’s Muslims had already agreed to a variety of limitations requested by the Kennesaw city attorney. They had accepted a limit of eighty worshipers at a time, forty parking spaces, and only a two-year lease.

Fort Fisher I: Folly

Via Brother Henry

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/17/Battle_of_Fort_Fisher_flags_stockade.jpg

By late 1864, the anaconda strategy devised by Gen. Winfield Scott at the start of the war was reaching its lethal conclusion. The implacable, relentless naval blockade had crippled the South’s cotton economy, and drained the rebel army of its ability to wage battle.

Still, daring blockade runners helped maintain a supply of goods that were as vital as they were meager. Their preferred port had always been Wilmington, N.C., but after federal forces captured Mobile, Ala., in August 1864, it was also their last. With its railroad connections to Virginia, Wilmington was the last vein through which the South received goods from the outside world, and the last artery to its army. Now federal forces focused on severing that link.

Wilmington is 28 miles up the Cape Fear River from the Atlantic Ocean. One of several but by far the most formidable of the confederate positions guarding Wilmington was Fort Fisher, located right at the mouth of the river. Fort Fisher was built at the end of a narrow peninsula that is shaped like an inverted triangle; on the east side is the Atlantic, on the west, the river. Anything entering the river had to pass under the guns of what had come to be called the Gibraltar of the South.

Dated

At the dawn of the 20th century, Britain had the greatest empire the world had ever seen. It stretched from the boreal vastness of Canada to the ice floes of the South Pole, from the scorching deserts of Egypt to the steamy jungles of New Guinea.

In 1900, British king Edward VII ruled over a quarter of the world’s population. His navy was the largest, most modern, and most ruthlessly efficient fighting force on the planet. His was the empire on which the sun never set, the undisputed global leader in science, technology, and commerce.

And then, in 1918, the British Parliament made a historic mistake. It gave women the vote. In 1920 the United States followed. Women’s suffrage rapidly spread around the world. Nearly 100 years later, how’s that working out for us?

Was Santa good to your little athlete this year?

By athlete, of course, I mean video game player.

Were there lots of video games under the tree that could be the first step toward your son or daughter getting an athletic scholarship?

There was a time, long, long ago when boys and girls (mostly boys) would be thrilled to get a new football or football helmet, shoulder pads or a new basketball for Christmas and parents could dream of the day when they watch their kids playing in high school or college.

Or just be happy watching the kids hurrying outside to join their friends in the backyard to play with their new stuff.

Call it the nerdification or the wussification of America, but that’s becoming more rare every year.

Video game playing has been slowly replacing the actual playing of the games for a long time and the proof may be coming to a college near you.

Robert Morris University Illinois gave athletic – that’s right, ATHLETIC – scholarships to 35 students this year as part of its new e-sports program.

Black Mob Violence at Christmas, All Over the Country

Via Jeff via The Feral Irishman

Holidays are a special time for practitioners and deniers of black mob violence. The Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day and of course New Year’s are among the most popular.

But not Christmas. Not usually. Not until this year: Black mob violence and resentment erupted across the country during the 72 hours before, during and after Christmas. And not the “carry signs and send out a press release” kind of political violence.

This year’s Yuletide racial violence was more spontaneous. More deadly. More old school.  Not connected to the recent political protests over Mike Brown, Eric Garner and fill in your favorite atrocity that racist police inflicted on black people For No Reason What So Ever.

Let’s start in a small town near Houston called Texas City, where hundreds of black people decided to celebrate Christmas Night at a party promoting “Hood Night.’

Motion Performance and Baldwin Chevrolet have long been noted for collaborating in the production of the first muscle car era’s most formidable big-block Chevy street and drag machines, but one of the most accomplished cars ever associated with the Motion name is this 1965 Ford Mustang K-code Fastback called the Hugger Mugger.

Purchased new by Fred Reimer at Schnurmacher Ford in Hewlett, New York, in 1965, it was campaigned by Reimer and his childhood pal Fred Greco. The pair soon met another Ford drag racer, Larry Smith, who also just happened to be the service manager at Motion. Smith introduced them to Motion owner Joel Rosen, and before long the Mustang was wearing Motion sponsorship on its flanks. After a series of 289 engines, the car was fitted with then-new Boss 302 heads by Smith. It earned its name by routinely “mugging” Camaros, which were promoted in Chevy advertising as “The Hugger.”

Psychopolitical Warfare and the Soviet Brainwashing of the United States

Do you want to know how it all happened? Do you really want to know the cause behind the rapid deterioration in the United States of America from a domestic cold war of incremental democratization, into a hot totalitarian socialist State? Aside from an abject hatred for religion and morality, one of the root causes of the accelerated decline is "psychopolitics," the art and science of asserting and maintaining dominion over the thoughts and loyalties of individuals, officers, bureaus, and masses, and the effecting of the conquest of enemy nations through "mental healing."

Psychopolitics, at its very core, is the Soviet art of brainwashing. Since 1933, the United States has been subject to a far-reaching and comprehensive campaign of psychopolitical warfare aimed at subverting and destroying our Constitutional Republic, and according to the Lucille Miller case of 1950, to "recruit every agency of the nation marked for slaughter into a foaming hatred of religious healing."

"During the past few years, I have noted with horror the increase of psychopolitical warfare upon the American public. First, in the brainwashing of our boys in Korea [who fought on behalf of the United Nations (source) by unlawful Executive authorization of President Harry S. Truman], and then in the well financed drive of mental health propaganda by left-wing pressure groups, wherein many of our states have passed Bills which can well be used by the enemies of America to subject to torture and imprisonment, those who preach the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and who oppose the menace of Communism." ― Kenneth Goff, Congressional Report to the Dies Committee on Un-American Activities, regarding his infiltration of the Communist Party of the United States from 1936-1939.

How The Constitution Ended Slavery

She will speak at this year's Fall PATCON

While defending the Constitution I am met often with two questions:  1) If the founders were so great and the Constitution such a great document, why did it preserve slavery?  2) Why did the Constitution treat black people as 3/5th a person?  The answers to these questions are rather simple when fact and truth are employed.  To understand the truth, we start with some basics…

In June of 1776 the Lee Resolution was ratified and was the legislative action that authorized the Declaration of Independence.  This Resolution was a three step process to declaring independence from Great Britain and establishing a union of States:
