"House of Cards" in West Virginia
Last Friday, the Democrat, formerly self-proclaimed pro-life Governor of West Virginia, Earl Ray Tomblin, vetoed a late-term abortion bill, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HB 4588).
This commonsense bill bans abortions after 20 weeks when preborn children have been scientifically proven to feel excruciating pain during an abortion.
Despite passing with 80% support from both the Democrat-led West Virginia House and Senate, Governor Tomblin shamefully vetoed the late-term abortion ban, obliterated his pro-life record, and aligned himself with a small minority of Americans who believe abortion should be legal in all 9 months of pregnancy, for any reason.
With one signature, he threw away the trust of West Virginia, an overwhelmingly pro-life state.
And it was all a set up.

TheNorth Carolina, , so drop-dead gorgeous she was nicknamed The Showboat, was commissioned in April of 1941 and served with distinction in every major Pacific Theatre action. During the Battle of the Eastern Solomons her volume of fire was so heavy the carrier Enterprise asked if she were on fire.
She was hit with a torpedo off Guadalcanal, punching a thirty-two foot hole in her hull below the waterline, but was fully back in action in less than six minutes. The North Carolina was decommissioned in 1947 and is on display at Wilmington, North Carolina. The name is now carried by the nuclear attack submarine North Carolina, , commissioned in 2008. A worthy successor, but no one calls her The Showboat.

Since the first of the year pork is up 45%, (We're going to lose about $3 on the $20 PATCON ticket this time. BT) corn and wheat are up 14%,
coffee is up 42%, and cheese is up 21%. All grain-fed livestock, chicken included, are up and so are eggs and dairy products. Vegetables are

You're not getting what is commonly known as
“insurance.” You're getting a massive bill to pay for other people's
chiropractors, marriage counselors, birth control pills, smoking

program that has been renamed “insurance.” It doesn't matter if you've
been paying for insurance your whole adult life. That policy is now
“illegal.” Put your hands in the air, nice and easy, and step away from
the policy, says Ann Coulter in this article, Screw you, Mickey Kaus!, at Human Events.
The world wide party's over - Yes,
my loopy progressive friends, the fantasy ride is over. Time to collect
the same-sex partners and test-tube kids; get back into the Prius, hope
the battery is not dead; and head home to the stagnant economy, the
mortgage, the leaky roof, the uncollected garbage, the sky-high energy

education, and a American health care system, once the greatest in the
world, now on death's door thanks to your prescriptions. Oh, and let's
not forget the misunderstood thugs and terrorists with their knives out,
waiting in the driveway to cut all our throats, yes, our—yours and mine.

Bill Gates and Common Core -
I suspected from the start that Common Core would be a fraud and a
failure for a simple reason: it recycled all the bad theories and
methods from the last 75 years. If you want to let Bill Gates off the
hook, say this: he trusted the wrong people and their bad ideas. The
very same people who had dumbed down the schools were now being asked to
create a reform program. Oh, really? How could that possibly work?

Obama, a sore loser but a loser nonetheless -
I think Mr. Obama is making the fool of himself yet again. After all,
Mr. Obama is the one who instigated the coup in Ukraine where there was
an elected Government. Mr. Obama, his diplomats are recorded and we have
recordings of them saying – we’ve got to do something about this
Government. And then, when it went against him, he got angry. And I’m
afraid he is going to shoot himself in the foot yet again.
Schiff - It’s not
that the stock market is gaining value, it’s that our money is losing
value. And so if you have a debased currency, a devalued currency, the
price of everything goes up. Stocks are no exception. I think we are
heading for a worse economic crisis than we had in 2007. You’re going to
have a collapse in the dollar, a huge spike in interest rates, and our
whole economy, which is built on the foundation of cheap money, is going
to topple when you pull the rug out from under it.

Albuquerque again: U.S. Marshals Shoot Unarmed Man, Seize Cell Phone Cameras from Witnesses
Via LH
As Albuquerque residents take to the streets to protest against the ongoing slayings of citizens by their local police department, federal agents got into the act by opening fire on an unarmed man Tuesday morning, then seizing cameras from witnesses.
But more citizens with cameras arrived on the scene as a group of U.S. Marshals stood around the victim, Gilberto Angelo Serrano, proving unafraid to voice their displeasure at the trigger-happy culture that apparently has seeped into all levels of law enforcement in Albuquerque.
Realizing they were outnumbered by cameras, the U.S. Marshals could only ask people to stand back, not bothering to try and stop them from recording as they tried to wrap a bandage around the head of the man they had just shot, who was laying on the sidewalk bleeding.
But a witness named Gabriel Valdez said the Marshals confiscated his cell phone camera as well as his mother’s camera as “evidence,” when he did not even start recording until after the shooting.
The incident took place around 10 a.m. when a group of Marshals were trying to apprehend a fugitive who was driving his truck.

Officer Tells Texas Man Openly Carrying Rifle He’s ‘Free to Go’ – It’s Hard to Believe What Happened Just Two Minutes Later
Via avordvet
A San Antonio man was reportedly arrested while openly carrying his rifle while on a walk near his home on Monday. The incident, which was video recorded by the gun owner, started out as a calm and reasonable conversation but ended dramatically with cops tasing the man before they put him in handcuffs.
While it is perfectly legal to openly carry a rifle in Texas, police reportedly arrested Henry Vichique, 19, under a local ordinance that apparently prohibits residents from carrying a loaded rifle or shotgun within city limits.
In a video posted on YouTube Monday, Vichique is seen being approached by officers and immediately ordered to put his rifle on the ground.
“I’m not doing anything wrong, sir,” Vichique replies to the command.

Female veteran: Macy's boss said her 'mindset' wasn't right for a store job because she'd been to war
Via LH
A 21-year-old Afghanistan veteran claims she was denied a job in Macy's specifically because of her service in the war-torn nation.
Kayla Reyes says she interviewed for a job on the sales floor at Fresno's Fashion Fair mall in February but was told that she wouldn't be able to relate to customers because she had seen combat.
Reyes, who enlisted in the military at the age of 17, claims that the interview took a turn for the worse when her 4-year army career came up and that the hiring manager said, 'Being that you've been over there, you wouldn't really know how to approach people.'
Stunned, Reyes said the manager continued and said that having spent a year dealing with IED's and the Taliban, 'Once a customer's in your face, you wouldn't know how to do it. You wouldn't know how to react.'
Collecting herself, Reyes said that when she realized the hiring manager had serious misconceptions, she tried to object.

Tac Tip - Camo Comparisons
Via WiscoDave
We recently got a special order in for some A-TACS patterned gear. For folks who aren’t familiar with the A-TACS patterns, here is a link to their web page: http://www.a-tacs.com/about/
It’s pretty good. I’ve always been impressed with the patterns. The question with any camo though is not merely how well does it help you avoid detection. For me, it’s also about how much better is it than other cheaper stuff on the market. Most of us can’t afford to buy new gear every time something else comes out.

Official Policy: Male Federal Workers Can Use Women's Restrooms, Locker Rooms
When an expectant mother visits her doctor for an ultrasound, the doctor invariably asks: Do you want to know the sex of your child?
The Obama administration, however, does not believe an unborn child has a sex -- even when a doctor sees indisputable physical evidence.
Obama's Office of Personnel Management has published what it calls "Guidance Regarding the Employment of Transgender Individuals in the Workplace." This document speaks of "sex" as something a person has "assigned" to them only after they make it through the birth canal.
"Transgender individuals are people with a gender identity that is different from the sex assigned to them at birth," says the guidance. "Someone who was assigned the male sex at birth but who identifies as female is a transgender woman. Likewise, a person assigned the female sex at birth but who identifies as male is a transgender man."

Big Day for Gun Rights in NY
Today in Albany, angry gun owners rallied against Governor Andrew Cuomo’s SAFE Act – an unpopular piece of legislation that outlaws the sale of AR-15s and includes restrictive registration requirements.
It's perhaps no surprise gun rights activists stormed the state capital in protest, after the SAFE Act has resulted in an astounding 1,200 felony charges. A few familiar faces were in attendance, including real estate mogul Donald Trump, who recently announced he will not be entering the state gubernatorial race. Trump spoke with John Zack and Susan Rose of WBEN radio this morning ahead of his appearance. While on air, he insisted gun rights is still a crucial issue for Republicans in the Empire State:
“I’m a big Second Amendment person […] Their voice is not being heard with what they’re doing with guns and the UnSAFE Act I call it.”
