A Muslim group allied with al Qaeda continues its bloody jihad on non-Muslims. But no worries: Obama say, al qaeda is on the run.

Jefferson Davis Never Convicted of Treason

Cruel punishment was inflicted upon President Jefferson Davis during his imprisonment: placed in irons, guards pacing in his cell and candlelight twenty-four hours a day, no exercise, and food that was barely edible.  Even the London Times was shocked at the torture and wrote in defense of “a man whom a little success would have transformed from a traitor to a monarch.”

Jefferson Davis Never Convicted of Treason

“Finally, on May 10, 1866, in the circuit court of the United States for the District of Virginia, Jefferson Davis was indicted for treason.  Davis had been held at Fort Monroe on three charges:

conspiracy to assassinate the President.  2., starvation and murder of Union prisoners. 3. Treason.

Two New York members of the bar, George Shea and Charles O’Conner, had previously agreed to represent Davis without pay.  There was a great deal of pressure from prominent persons in the North for the defense of Davis, not the least among them was Horace Greeley, editor of the New York Tribune.  Other lawyers volunteered to help bring about a speedy trial.

There were those in the government who would have been happier if the whole problem had been avoided by an escape of Jefferson Davis to a foreign country in the first place instead of capture.

There were those who also suggested that Davis ask for a pardon to which he would never consent.  Since he felt he had never committed any crime, he would never ask for a pardon.

Still the Federal government procrastinated.  Chief Justice [Salmon P.] Chase tenaciously clung to the idea that there should be no trial for treason.

”If you bring the leaders to trial it will condemn the North, for by the Constitution secession is not rebellion.  Trials for treason in the civil courts are not remedies adopted to the close of a great civil war.  Honor forbids a resort to them after combatants in open war have recognized each other as soldiers and gentlemen engaged in legitimate conflict . . . It would be shockingly indecorous for the ultimate victor to in such conflict to send his vanquished opponent before the civil magistrate to be tried as if he were a mere thief or rioter.

Lincoln wanted Jefferson Davis to escape, and he was right. His capture was a mistake; his trial will be a greater one. We cannot convict him of treason. Secession is settled. Let it stay settled.”

When the term of the court at Richmond was opened in May, 1867, George Shea filed for a petition on behalf of Davis for a writ of habeas corpus, and the writ was granted and served on the commanding officer at Fort Monroe . . . In the company of his counsel Davis came into court on May 13, 1867.

Horace Greeley, Cornelius Vanderbilt and other prominent Northern men posted bond in the amount of $100,000, and Davis was set free.”

Gun Company Lays Off Workers As Obama Administration Blocks Re-importation Of The Rifle That Won World War II

 http://cdn.bearingarms.com/uploads/2013/08/Garandposter.jpg

General George S. Patton recognized the .30-’06 M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle as “the greatest battle implement ever devised,” and the rifle accompanied American Marines and soldiers up the beaches of Normandy against the Germans, across the islands of the Pacific against the Japanese, and through the brutal cold of the Korean winter. It served America as our primary battle rifle through two wars, and is still prized today by collectors and shooters for itls timeless design and reliability.

Now Century Arms International is having to lay off workers because the Obama Administration has refused to allow these pieces of American history to be re-imported from South Korea.

It didn’t take long after yesterday’s shotgun attack by a non-student at Seattle Pacific University for word to get out that the brave actions of students ended the attack before far more people could be injured or killed.

The friends of the first man to go after the armed suspect quickly identified the bashful hero to the world via Twitter.

Nucla becomes Colorado's first and only town mandating gun ownership

The Venus Stylin' beauty salon is one of the few businesses in this town where the heads of hunted animals don't stare glassy-eyed from the walls. But that doesn't mean that this is a zone free of the gun-rights fervor that grips Nucla.

"We should all have guns, lots of them," opined stylist Traciena Johannsen as she painted highlights on the hair of a client who spoke up from beneath the tent of foil on her head to say she has two guns. In fact, she shot a wild turkey with one of them last week.

New Medical Law Mandates Private Conversation With Child Before Every Doctor Visit 060614sign

When Michigan mother Christine Duffy brought her 17-year-old daughter into her physician’s office for a minor foot injury, she was told that a new medical access law required a nurse to have a “private” conversation with her child, another example of how parental authority is being eviscerated by the state.

D-Day Landing Sites Then and Now: Normandy Beaches in 1944 and 70 Years Later

Via Jonathan

June 5, 1944: The 2nd Battalion US Army Rangers march to their landing craft in Weymouth, England. They were tasked with capturing the German heavy coastal defence battery at Pointe du Hoc to the west of the D-Day landing zone of Omaha Beach

On June 6, 1944, Allied soldiers descended on the beaches of Normandy for D-Day, an operation that turned the tide of the Second World War against the Nazis, marking the beginning of the end of the conflict.

Today, as many around the world prepare to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the landings, pictures of tourists soaking up the sun on Normandy's beaches stand in stark contrast to images taken around the time of the invasion.

Reuters photographer Chris Helgren compiled archive pictures taken during the invasion and went back to the same places to photograph them as they appear today.

VERBATIM

Vanity | 6/4/2014 | Self

This morning the BBC and Euronews TV were carrying what was advertised as the D-Day commemoration at Ouistreham beach in Normandy, France.

What started as a tribute to the wonderful veterans, who were seated in the hot sun whilst the elites relaxed under the structures built for the occasion, quickly degraded into mindless, godless pandering for World Socialism by International Banking's puppet administrator in France, Hollande.

Just when I thought they would proceed with something sensible, Hollande gave way to a most disgusting, new world order, fabian socialist, godless, modern dance propaganda infomercial for totalitarian statist globalist new world order. Freakishly, mind-numbingly idiotic symbology ensued on the beach, in front of tv monitors straight out of a new world order novel.

It culminated with a bunch of people standing on the EU symbol, the circle of stars, in a blatant advertisement for the EU and globalism, with the new world order dancers walking around like some kind of zombie citizenry, lead by what appeared to be two new world order lesbians going through pathetically idiotic symbolic hand movements with each other, painfully obviously staring off into the future where we're all obedient to the senior debt underwriters to the governments of the world, our would-be masters.

What an insult to the veterans of that war.

What a disgusting display.

Topped off with the compulsory show of the clownlike appearance of the puppet vassal of America, accompanied of course by the eye-rolling of the master of Russia in response.

Of course, the role of globalist financial elites was pretended to not exist by the whole show and entourage.

The same old tired myths that have been peddled since the end of WWII flooded the stage, with the same endless mind-numbing chant of the "new" faux threats to the world that globalism tells us we face, and that the only possible solution is, of course, subserviently acquiescing to the dictates of the global financial elites.

How long, Lord, will you sleep ? Please God, we pray for a Christian revival in America, that we would truly become a Christian nation and bow the knee to Christ, and you would then remove the curse of our corrupt and wicked leadership from our nation.

"We knew that he had deserted.": 6 of Bowe Bergdahl's Platoon Members Speak Out

In a powerful interview with Megyn Kelly, six of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's platoon members, including the platoon's former leader, spoke out on the latest developments in the embattled Taliban trade that secured Bergdahl's freedom.

Responding to Kelly's questions about an exclusive Fox News report by James Rosen that alleges Bergdahl converted to Islam, fraternized openly with his captors and declared himself a "warrior for Islam," former platoon leader Evan Buetow said, "We knew that he had deserted."

What Happened to Marine Deserter Wassef Ali Hassoun?

Ten years ago this month, U.S. Marine Wassef Ali Hassoun disappeared from Camp Fallujah in Iraq. After a five-month military investigation, he was charged with desertion and theft, brought back to Virginia's Quantico Marine base and then transferred to North Carolina's Camp Lejeune for trial.

Yet, a full decade later, Hassoun is as free as a bird.

The accused deserter's whereabouts are unknown. No trial ever began. No punishment ensued. And our leaders in Washington don't seem to be doing a thing about this.
