The Media’s Mental Illness On Guns

Via Michael

I really intended to take Father’s Day off to be with my children (and I will do that, once I can pry my ever-sleeping teenager from her bed), but first I felt compelled to address an unsigned Denver Post editorial, Still waiting for Congress on guns.

Like so many members of the media, the editorial board of the Post betrays a a complete lack of understanding of the intent of the Bill of Rights, and of the Second Amendment in particular, as the following passages from their op-ed make abundantly clear.
In the wake of another school shooting, this time in Oregon, President Obama last week was asked what he was going to do to stop these kinds of incidents.
Obama said there was nothing to be done until there was a “fundamental shift in public opinion where people say, ‘enough. .. This isn’t the price we should be paying for our freedom.”
Sadly, the president is right.
The package of legislation that Obama proposed in 2013 after the horrific mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut would have banned assault-style weapons, mandated universal background checks and placed a 10-round limit on ammunition magazines.
They were modest but prudent reforms.
The purpose of the Second Amendment is now, and has always been, crystal clear.

Americans have the inalienable right to own arms (not just firearms) of contemporary military utility in order to ensure that We, the People, can be conquered by neither foreign foes, nor domestic tyrants.

US Quietly Moves Detainees Out Of Secretive Afghanistan Prison

The Obama administration has quietly repatriated a dozen detainees from a small U.S. military prison in Afghanistan, moving a modest step closer toward winding down the United States' controversial post-9/11 detainee system.

President Barack Obama, in a letter to Congress released on Thursday, informed U.S. lawmakers that about 38 non-Afghan prisoners remained at the Parwan detention center outside of Kabul, down from around 50 a few months ago.

A U.S. defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that a Frenchman, a Kuwaiti and 10 Pakistani prisoners were sent back to their respective home countries at the end of May.

The remaining detainees include Yemeni, Tunisian and more Pakistani nationals, and a Russian who the United States is also considering trying in a military or civilian court.

Grits

The good old Southern breakfast of grits, country ham, biscuits and redeye gravy is a thing of the past.

...a survey of the eating habits of the residents of a small Southern town...found that the typical breakfast is now cold cereal, milk, toast, coffee, and juice...

This is all very depressing.

For years, I’ve heard that the South will rise again, but nobody told me it would rise to a breakfast of cold cereal...

I am alarmed over the grits situation...... You have to ask the waitress to bring you grits. Previously you only had to ask the waitress not to bring you grits...

Recently there has been an even more alarming trend in this regard. At some restaurants, you not only have to ask for grits, but have to pay for them as well.

I consider this a sacrilege, as I am quite sure the Lord never intended for  grits to be sold.

Obama approved Iran's move into Iraq

The deployment of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard to Iraq came after the Obama administration quietly gave its approval of the Shiite troop movement, according to informed Middle Eastern security officials.

The Obama administration pressed Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to allow battalions of the Quds Force to aid the Iraqi military in its fight against the Sunni Muslim Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS.

The Quds Force is special unit of the Revolutionary Guard responsible for international operations.
According to numerous press reports the Iranian forces were dispatched Thursday to fight in Tikrit, which was initially held by the ISIS but was subsequently liberated by the Iraqi army with help from Iran.

Just Shoot: The Mindset Responsible For Turning Search Warrants Into Death Warrants, And SWAT Teams Into Death Squads

“A government which will turn its tanks upon its people, for any reason, is a government with a taste of blood and a thirst for power and must either be smartly rebuked, or blindly obeyed in deadly fear.”—John Salter
How many children, old people, and law-abiding citizens have to be injured, terrorized, or killed before we call a halt to the growing rash of police violence that is wracking the country? How many family pets have to be gunned down in cold blood by marauding SWAT teams before we declare such tactics off limits? And how many communities have to be transformed into military outposts, complete with heavily armed police, military tanks, and “safety” checkpoints before we draw that line in the sand that says “not in our town”?

9 Ways Fathers, On This Father’s Day, Can Avoid Raising a Barack Obama

 http://alltherightsnark.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Obama-Throw_lightbox.jpg

It’s Father’s Day today and I can’t think of a more important job than raising your kids right. Don’t believe me? Well then, I have two words for you: Bowe and Bergdhal.

As much as some stretch-panted lesbian might try to marginalize the role of fathers with their mullet-headed, misguided, misandristic Weltanschauung, the stats clearly state that when pop is in the house, and he properly doles out TLC, the kids come out as a great asset to the planet instead of selfish jackasses.

And that’s what our country needs: parents raising kids who love God and our country and don’t cost our nation one red cent, but rather add tremendous value to this great experiment in self-governance.
Y’know, sometimes I wonder if Obama had been properly fathered then maybe our country wouldn’t be so embarrassed, in debt and internationally laughed at right now.

Therefore, and herewith, are nine ways you, the young dad, can make certain you don’t raise a kid like el presidente.

Watch Tom Bailey’s 1969 Camaro “Sick Seconds” max out the dyno at 2,500 horsepower at Steve Morris Engines. The dyno is programmed to shut down at 2,500 HP, but the car has much more power, especially since it’s only slightly modified from its 2013 Drag Week setup. Steve is expecting closer to 2,700 HP with the 2014 setup.

Skip ahead to 4:00 for the dyno pull.

We’re looking forward to seeing this car at Drag Week 2014.

Confederate Flag In Citadel Chapel Has To Go Or $NAACP$ Will “Intervene”

By now most of you have probably read about the big fuss over the Confederate Navel Jack that has been hanging in the Summerall Chapel at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. It’s been hanging there for several years, with never a problem, until Charleston councilman Henry Darby decided it had to come down.

Supposedly, Mr. Darby was approached several months ago by two of his constituents who were concerned about a Confederate flag hanging in the chapel at the Citadel. It seems that neither Mr. Darby nor his constituents feel that flag should be in a chapel. Why in Heaven’s name not? It is, after all, with its Cross of St. Andrew, a Christian flag.

A family is upset after a police officer pulled up to their home, and within seconds without warning had pulled his gun and shot the family dog that was contained inside an invisible fence on its owners’ property.

The dog’s owner, Norma Maldonado, called attention to the June 10th incident after her 1.5 year old puppy, Lilly, received a bullet to the face during a family cookout. She wrote to local media:

Multiple videos have been posted online showing what uploaders described as hockey fans destroying a Los Angeles Police Department drone outside the Staples Center Friday night after the LA Kings won the NHL's Stanley Cup.

Riot police were called in to break up what the LA Times described as a "melee" outside the arena following the King's victory over the New York Rangers.

In one clip posted online, a drone can be seen hovering over the crowd of hockey fans before it was knocked out of the sky by people throwing shoes and clothing:
