The Obama administration apparently is stonewalling pleas for help for an American Marine who said he took a wrong turn and ended up over the Mexican border, and in possession of several guns that were legal in the United States but illegal in Mexico.

That’s according to members of the family of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi.

In an exclusive interview with WND, Jill Tahmooressi described her son, Andrew, as “despondent” right now because there has been no word from Washington on help for his case.

She said he has lost significant hope, and that she can hear it in his voice, now that so much time has passed with no word on his release, and especially no word from Obama.

“We are very disappointed in the White House,” said Jill Tahmooressi. “We did what they said we had to do to get a response from the White House, but we have not heard a thing.”

........thought you may be interested, I contacted a guy in California a couple weeks ago concerning getting a copy made of the famous ambrotype of John Pelham taken by Matthew Brady in 1858 at West Point. It is the only picture of Pelham I have ever seen depicting Pelham in uniform. This ambrotype was sold at auction by a great nephew here in Alabama a couple years ago{what a shitbum} after the photo had been in the Pelham family all these years. The Smithsonian purchased the ambrotype at auction for an undisclosed amount. I know the nephew was wanting $65,000.

The name of this man's shop is vintage photos and he sells on Ebay. The unique thing about his shop as opposed to someone just printing off copies is that his 87 year old mother hand oil tints these photos to give the impression of color. She has been doing this since 1948 and it is really a lost art. Anyway her son's name is Scott and he agreed to having this ambrotype of Pelham done. He contacted me the later part of this week and sent me a copy of the finished copy and I think his mom did a beautiful job. I ordered a 8x10 and a 20x30 which is the largest size they make. I plan on having the larger one framed when I get it and placing it in a place of honor in my home. I told Scott that if he would do this I would get the word out and try to get him some business on the print as he was the most famous Alabamian of the war and has a huge following in north east Alabama. -----, the prices are reasonable and hopefully you could order one.

The 8x10 is 14.50 with free shipping. You will never see this photo quite like this format again as the black and white one I have had for years of this same ambrotype is unclear and faded looking.  Photo of Margaret A. Rogers taken in 1949 at age 20 while hospitalized at the Michigan State Sanatorium and colored by Margaret in 2008. 

 Margaret Rogers was born Margaret Ann Young, June 12th 1929, “during the great depression” in Adrian, Michigan. Her mother, Oneda Leath Byers was from Michigan and her father, Wade Gurney Young from Tennessee. Both were farm people, going back and forth between the two states seeking a way to make a living during the Great Depression.

From a small child on Margaret was always drawing pictures on whatever kind of paper she could find. She was never really encouraged with her talent as asking for material to draw on was more of a problem for her parents during this difficult time.

In 1948, in her late teens she was hospitalized at the Michigan State Sanatorium with Tuberculosis. Confined to bed rest drawing was her way of making time pass. The rehabilitation director noticed her drawings and offered her an extension course in art from the University of Nebraska.

She later became interested in photography and was given a course in “Coloring Portraits in Oil, from the National Photo Coloring School, and it was to serve her well in the future.

After four and a half years in bed she was discharged from the hospital in late 1952. She married a young man (Wesley Howard Rogers) that she met while hospitalized and they settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The next ten years she gave birth to their four children.

In 1962 she found herself alone with the children to rear on her own. That is when her talent of coloring portraits in oil became her means of support for her family. It was work she could do from home and allowed her to be there for her children full time.

She continued coloring portraits for several years and that led to her becoming a “portrait photographer.” In 1993 she retired, but soon found retirement a bore and so looked for numerous ways to fill her time and went back to work. Margaret then retired for the second time in 2006 and picked up her paint brushes and camera once again.

The majority of images produced by Rogers are of Celebrities and Native Americans; however she has also chosen to produce a substantial collection of Civil War & Military figures, Famous Places & Landmarks, US Presidents & Politial Figures, Scientists, famous people in Black History and American old West Heroes and Outlaws.

Her collection of work has been digitized by her youngest son Scott who markets them on the internet through eBay, myArtwork.com and on the website MyVintagePhotos.

IRS CANCELLED Contract with Email-Storage Firm Weeks After Lerner’s Computer Crash

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) cancelled its longtime relationship with an email-storage contractor just weeks after ex-IRS official Lois Lerner’s computer crashed and shortly before other IRS officials’ computers allegedly crashed.

The IRS signed a contract with Sonasoft, an email-archiving company based in San Jose, California, each year from 2005 to 2010. The company, which partners with Microsoft and counts The New York Times among its clients, claims in its company slogans that it provides “Email Archiving Done Right” and “Point-Click Recovery.” Sonasoft in 2009 tweeted, “If the IRS uses Sonasoft products to backup their servers why wouldn’t you choose them to protect your servers?”

Sonasoft was providing “automatic data processing” services for the IRS throughout the January 2009 to April 2011 period in which Lerner sent her missing emails.

But Sonasoft’s six-year business relationship with the IRS came to an abrupt end at the close of fiscal year 2011, as congressional investigators began looking into the IRS conservative targeting scandal and IRS employees’ computers started crashing left and right.

The Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL) battled with rival opposition fighters in northern Syria on Sunday, using U.S.-made military vehicles captured from neighboring Iraq for the first time, a monitoring group said.

ISIL, a splinter group of al Qaeda which wants to set up an Islamic caliphate encompassing both Iraq and Syria, has made rapid gains in Iraq in the past two weeks, taking control of the northern city of Mosul and major border crossings with Syria.

Its advances in Iraq appear to have spurred on the Syrian branch, which is fighting both the army of President Bashar al-Assad and also rival opposition groups such as the Western-backed Free Syrian Army, a more moderate force.

The Sunni Muslim ISIL fighters seized strategic Syrian towns near the Iraqi border from rivals last week.

Babeu trumpets capture of drug cartel scouts

 An AR-15 rifle and multiple radios, food, solar panels and batteries were found stuffed in a cave on an unidentified Pinal County hilltop as part of a months-long investigation by the Pinal County 

Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Border Patrol. Officers searched for Mexican drug cartel scouts who spot and report law enforcement presence in the area to smugglers passing through.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office announced a round of arrests of drug cartel scouts and affiliates after a months-long sting in Pinal County on Monday.
Sheriff Paul Babeu told reporters at a press conference that eight men were arrested over February and March in the operation. Three of those individuals – Francisco Noriega Nuñez, Jose Gambino Ruiz and Jose Aispuro – were sentenced to 21/2 years in prison for one count of conspiracy to possession of marijuana for sale, a class 3 felony. Four remain in custody awaiting trials.

By March 17, Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles had issued an indictment against the seven men. Voyles called this type of prosecution against cartel scouts “rare.”

Governor Jindal: Angry Americans Ready for 'Hostile Takeover' of Washington

On March 8, 2013, bodybuilder Daniel Saenz, 37, was arrested after acting strangely at a local grocery store and mental health facility, apparently high on drugs. As he was brought into the jail the handcuffed suspect struck his head against something, and jailers refused to accept him into the jail without the bleeding wound being treated first.

As Saenz was dragged back outside for transport to the hospital to be treated, he struggled with officers but never left the ground, his hands clamped behind his back in handcuffs. Officers couldn’t control Saenz, but he didn’t appear to be much of a credible threat to either of them, with his hands in cuffs behind his back and his pants falling down. He was certainly a nuisance and refusing to cooperate, but wasn’t much of a threat.

After struggling with Saenz for several minutes and apparently getting frustrated  with their inability to get Saenz sufficiently subdued, one of the officers, El Paso Police Officer Jose Flores, pulls his pistol and shoots a downed and restrained Saenz from behind, twice, killing him.

 Matthew Pinkerton was charged by an idiotic Maryland prosecutor for daring to shoot a man who was forcing his way into Pinkerton’s home.

We first wrote about the absurd case against US Air Force Tech Sgt. Matt Pinkerton in early November, when he was charged with murder by Assistant State’s Attorney Glen Neubauer. What was Pinkerton’s crime? Not pausing to dial 9-1-1 after Kendall Green forced is way into Pinkerton’s home at 2:00 AM.

Our friend and Bearing Arms contributor Mike McDaniel has been following the Pinkerton case on his own site, and now reports that charges against Pinkerton have been dismissed by the judge… and that’s no small thing:

NC: 2014 Great Race to Stop in New Bern, NC on June 25

New Bern, North Carolina will host an overnight stop on the 2014 Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty Wednesday, June 25, race promoters have announced. The Great Race, the world’s premiere old car rally, will bring more than 100 antique automobiles downtown to Middle Street for the $150,000 event.

The race will start in Ogunquit, Maine, on June 21 and weave its way 2,100 miles over nine days down the Atlantic Coast through 13 states before the finish in The Villages, Fla., on June 29.

The racers will leave from Norfolk, Va., the morning of June 25 and stop for lunch in Elizabeth City, N.C., before rolling into New Bern.
