No Freedom Left Unharmed: The Terror State in America
Via avordvet
We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them…you create a nation of lawbreakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Rearden.”
- Alisa Zinov’yevna Rosenbaum (also known as Ayn Rand) Atlas Shrugged
The modern state and government have one primary goal in mind: the maintenance and expansion of political power to horizontally and vertically regulate and tax every transaction of human behavior within its jurisdiction, individuals and firms alike. For America, that means the unfortunates living in the confines of the common geographical boundaries recognized as the US and it possessions and according to the IRS, any place on Earth an American holding current citizenship resides. The US has been a military garrison state since 1860 with short interregnums of less war-like times. With the end of the Civil War and the tyrannical consolidation of the Lincolnian imperial project, the American military apparatus was focused on continuing its campaign to eradicate or threaten into docility the aboriginals who had originally peopled the continent.

The Pentagon is adding to its arsenal of weapons in Norway’s caves
Via Iver
In the heart of Norway’s countryside, the U.S. military is bolstering its arsenal of weapons with tanks, gun trucks and other armored vehicles along with hundreds of containers of equipment.
The Marine Corps is overseeing the effort, which expands the existing Marine Corps Prepositioning Program. It stashes weapons, vehicle and armor in several locations across the world, including Norway, which first signed an agreement with the United States to do so in 1981, Marine officials said.
The equipment is kept in climate-controlled caves in central Norway, giving the Marines equipment that is closer than the East Coast to use in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Much of what stored in the caves was pulled out and sent to the Middle East ahead of the March 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Philly sued over $6-million civil asset forfeiture habit
Via Jonathan
It’s a stultifying name for a frequently abused tool in law enforcement’s arsenal. Civil asset forfeiture is the name for the state’s ability to take your stuff if they suspect it’s been used in the commission of the crime. The problem is your stuff isn’t presumed innocent, and therefore getting it back can be a nightmare from which law-abiding citizens emerge stuff-less.
The Institute for Justice, my favorite law firm for economic liberty, is suing the city of Philadelphia over its takings of property from thousands of citizens. The civil forfeiture apparatus in Philadelphia racks up $6 million a year, according to IJ.

‘FBI Snitch’ Al Sharpton Gets Heckled: ‘Are You Here to Snitch on the Rioters?’
ViaDoug
As MSNBC’s race-hustling Marxist Al Sharpton hurried to Ferguson, Missouri, never allowing a crisis to be a wasted opportunity to bask in the limelight, following the death of Michael Brown, he was greeted by a message spray-painted on a looted QuickTrip (QT) convenience store during the riots, that was no doubt directed towards him.
The spray-painted message said: “Snitches get Stitches.”
“Reverend” Sharpton, whose previously reported mob ties led him to also become an FBI informant, aka: CI-7, had the message brought to his attention by Progressives Today reporter Adam Sharp on Tuesday (see video below).
While very few details have been revealed regarding the shooting of 18-year old Michael Brown, reportedly unarmed, by a policeman he was in a physical altercation with, Sharpton, who recently compared Obama’s ‘suffering’ to Jesus, plays judge, jury, and executioner as he tells the reporter that he’s there to talk about a “cop that needs to go to jail.”

Adam Sharp:
“Reverend Sharpton, the term ‘Snitches Get Snitches’ was spray painted
on the burned out QuikTrip. Since you are a federal snitch, sir, do you
fear for your life?”
Al Sharpton: “I’m not a snitch. (Not true) But today I want to tell the feds about a cop that needs to go to jail.

Are you armed? 'Knockout' thugs begin checking
The “knockout game” has become a nationwide menace in which roaming mobs randomly select victims and without warning hit them as hard as they can in an attempt to knock them out.
The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville reported a witness called police claiming she saw a male juvenile punch a man in the face, “apparently without provocation.”
The victim, who told police he believed the boys were playing the knockout game, said one of the boys approached him and asked if he had a “Glock.” The man was punched after admitting he was unarmed, the paper said.
Four juveniles were arrested.
But the report said the victim wised up quickly.
“Fearing that the boy would continue to hit him until he was unconscious, the man grabbed at a folding knife that he had tucked into his waistband and pretended to have a gun. The boys fled, and the man enlisted the help of his neighbor to search for the boys.”

Major Democratic Donor Supports Southern Secession: South ‘dumbing down’ America
Via WiscoDave
A major Democratic donor said he supports Southern secession because
the South is “dumbing down” national politics, according to emails from a
secret progressive Google group obtained by Media Trackers, a conservative Wisconsin news outlet.
In an email thread on Gamechanger Salon—a closed Google group of progressive organizers, reporters, and campaign apparatchiks—Guy Saperstein, a major Democratic donor and part owner of the Oakland Athletics baseball team, said he would support the South seceding.

Reactive Steel Targets from Multiplex Systems LLC
Via Oleg
I am a big fan of steel targets. They make long-range marksmanship practice a lot more fun. At close distances, they help new shooters develop greater confidence in their abilities. Recently, I HAD the Opportunity to test targets Made by Multiplex Systems in Minnesota, distributed through ShootSteel.com .
Jumping Rabbit is a welded target for rimfire rifles and low-power handguns. Unlike the shoddy knock-offs held together with screws, this one proved very durable. When hit, Jumping Rabbit does as its name suggests, jumping diagonally away from the shooter. It's easy to start at 25 yards and chase it out to 50 or further, starting with rapid fire and slowing down as the range extends. This target moves reliably even over uneven ground and remains visible in fairly tall grass. Best of all, it's portable and inexpensive at only $ 24. Larger versions made for .308 round are also available.
