ISIS-branded merchandise sold on Amazon, Facebook

 isis

Despite Facebook’s claims that a cluster of pages peddling ISIS goods would be taken down, recent searches show many pages containing merchandise with the terrorist group’s symbols still remain on the most popular social-media site in the world.

“At Facebook, we have rules that bar direct statements of hate, attacks on private individuals and groups, and the promotion of terrorism,” said Facebook spokesman Israel Hernandez in June. “We have a team of professional investigators both here in the U.S. and abroad who enforce these rules.

Where hateful content is posted and reported, Facebook removes it and disables accounts of those responsible.”

The items offered for sale include baseball caps, clothing and jewelry – many bearing the familiar black flag associated with the terrorist group and its slogan, “Baqiyah.”

Tactical Gun Review: What Happened to Colorado and Why

Via avordvet

 Colorado

Folks across the Nation have been asking us what happened to Colorado regarding a rash of new highly- restrictive firearm laws and with the promise of legislators of more to come in 2014. Here is how it really happened.

Sniveling first: This white paper comes from firsthand knowledge. We know personally, have met with and gathered facts with, from, and about many of the players in this mess. We have lived in Colorado for decades and have been directly involved in fighting against previous and recent anti-Second Amendment actions by our newly elected democrat majority Colorado State Legislature and governor. This paper is limited to firearm issues not the other controversial Colorado majority legislature plans, regulations, bills, and laws that cover a myriad of other seriously transformative issues we are also becoming famous for doing in our now threatened progressive state.

We worked to keep this work unbiased-it may not look that way but we tried. SO IF you are anti-gun, want citizen firearm restrictions, a critic of the Constitution, a critic of the 2nd Amendment, a loyal Californian regardless, a hard core “left wing” Democrat, liberal or a Progressive, this document will just anger or frustrate you. That is NOT the purpose and we simply suggest you not read it. The facts and how they politically align are just that –the facts.

LET’S BEGIN

September 11, 1683, the Start of a 331-Year Muslim Holy War

331 years ago today, on September 11, 1683, a third of a million Muslims of the Ottoman Empire were bitterly defeated at the Battle of Vienna. And they have never gotten over it.

"In the year of our Lord 1529, Sultan Suleiman, the sworn enemy of the Christian faith, set out for Vienna with all his forces in order to defeat Christianity and subjugate it." ― Peter Stern von Labach, Chronicle of 1529

After decades of smaller wars, seiges and aggressions, the imperial city of Vienna, Austria was besieged by the armies of the Ottoman Empire for two months. The Battle of Vienna then commenced on September 11th. It was a battle of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation in league with the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (Holy League), versus the Muslim Ottoman Empire and chiefdoms of the Ottoman Empire.

The battle took place at Kahlenberg Mountain near Vienna, and marked the beginning of the political hegemony of the Habsburg dynasty in the Holy Roman Empire and Central Europe.

The siege itself began on July 14, 1683, by the Ottoman army of approximately 300,000 men, and the battle was won by the combined forces of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. The alliance fought the army of the Ottoman Empire and those of Ottoman fiefdoms commanded by Grand Vizier Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha.

It has been suggested by many historians that this battle marked the turning-point in the Ottoman–Habsburg wars, the over 300-year struggle between the Holy Roman Empire and the Ottoman Empire.

NC: Victim pulls pistol on would-be robbers

The victim of an attempted armed robbery Wednesday pulled a pistol on his assailants after they tried to rob him of a rifle he was selling online.

Edvis Miquem Galloway, 24; Kalmeaice Kawanna Williams, 38; and Savon Khalif Hardaway, 18; are each charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The victim, whose name was not released, told police he met with three men Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of Lullwater Drive near the intersection with Market Street to show a rifle he'd posted for sale on Craigslist, said Wilmington Police Department spokeswoman Linda Rawley.

When the victim pulled out the rifle, one of the men took it from him as another held him at gunpoint, the 911 call reveals.

Republicans: DOA Plan floated to strip committee slots from members who rebel during floor vote for speaker.

Via

House Republicans are quietly discussing a proposal that could fundamentally alter the way future speakers of the House are chosen, according to multiple GOP sources, with the objective of avoiding a repeat of John Boehner's embarrassing reelection vote in 2013.

The rule tweak began as an informal discussion but has morphed into a concrete proposal that is beginning to circulate in the House. According to people briefed on it, any Republican who votes on the House floor in January against the conference's nominee for House speaker—that is, the candidate chosen by a majority of the House GOP during its closed-door leadership elections in November—would be severely punished. Specifically, sources say, any dissenters would be stripped of all committee assignments for that Congress.
"There's a real concern that there's between 30 and 40 people that would vote against the speaker on the House floor, so they're trying to change the conference rules to make sure that doesn't happen," said a GOP member familiar with the proposal.
At the same, time, according to sources, conservative lawmakers are discussing something of a counter-proposal. Under their plan, the November leadership elections would be pushed back until after the lame-duck session of Congress ends in December. This idea was described by one House conservative as a preemptive strike to warn leadership not to consider any significant legislation during the 15-day "lame-duck" period between November's midterm elections and the start of the new Congress.
This proposal, in light of the proposed pelaties for voting against the speaker in January, could also be aimed at giving a challenger additional time to organize supporters for the conference elections.
Even if the first proposal is adopted, Republicans would still be allowed to vote for anyone in those closed-door internal elections, during which members choose their leadership officials for the next Congress. But once a majority of the conference has voted for their candidate as speaker, that decision will be final. When the House holds its chamber-wide vote for speaker on the first day of the new Congress, all Republicans will be expected to support the party's nominee. Next year, barring any surprise development, Boehner will be that nominee.
It's unclear the degree to which leadership is involved with pushing the proposal. According to Republicans close to the situation, the plan was not authored by or circulated within Boehner's team. Instead, they say, the speaker's allies in the rank-and-file are promoting the idea as a way to avoid another awkward display of intra-party rivalry at the start of the 114th Congress. Still, it's difficult to imagine Boehner's friends moving forward with such a drastic plan without his approval, if not support.
"There are members frustrated with other members about what happened last time," said a senior Republican.
Twelve House Republicans refused to vote for Boehner's reelection in January 2013 at the outset of the 113th Congress. This level of dissent was insufficient to oust Boehner from the speakership, but served to embarrass the speaker and publicly air the party's dirty laundry. The incident infuriated Boehner's allies, who claimed no opposition was voiced privately during the conference elections—an affront to the traditional process of keeping internal campaigns private.
Still, even with plenty of members still upset over that 2013 incident, adopting this proposal won't be easy. A majority of House Republicans must vote for any change to the conference rules, and some lawmakers would certainly oppose the change. Such sweeping punitive measures would be difficult to keep under wraps, such as Boehner and the Steering Committee did in late 2012 when three outspoken conservatives were kicked off committees for failing to support party initiatives.
"The speaker at any one point in time has probably 90 to 100 votes, for sure. So it's just a matter of making the case to a mere 20 folks or so and get the rule changed. But I think there would be a lot of people who would still vote for the speaker, but would have a real hard time with that kind of rule change," said the first Republican member.
The timing of this proposed rule tweak is especially interesting. Nobody is expected to compete with Boehner for the speakership next Congress, much less beat him. Rep. Jeb Hensarling, chairman of the Financial Services Committee, has quietly considered a campaign against Boehner. But Hensarling's allies argue that Eric Cantor's resignation this summer, which triggered a leadership shake-up and fortified Boehner's position atop the conference, make it highly unlikely Hensarling will seek the speakership.
"I don't think you'll see that kind of drama," Rep. Paul Ryan, a close friend of Hensarling, told National Journal earlier this month. "I think Jeb would look at it if there were an open seat. But I don't think an open seat is going to occur."
It seems, then, the proposal is aimed more broadly at preventing another contentious leadership election that feeds the narrative about divisions within the GOP. And it may be aimed particularly at freshmen entering the House next year, some of whom have said on the campaign trail that they would refuse to vote for Boehner. Tea-party-aligned candidates in Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina have already said they will not support the speaker.
It also comes as members close to the speaker have been circling the wagons over the last few months. Reps. Devin Nunes, Pat Tiberi, and Tom Cole, some of Boehner's inner circle, have been trying to force members to pay their dues to the National Republican Congressional Committee, and if they don't they don't get to sit on A-level committees, such as Ways and Means.
On that topic, Capitol Hill has also been abuzz in recent days about the other potential procedural changes -- pushing back the conference leadership elections.
Conservatives could make the case that members won't have sufficient evidence by which to judge the new leadership team that took over in late June. And, indeed, some already have hinted that Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise -- the new majority leader and majority whip, respectively -- should be evaluated primarily by their decision-making during the lame-duck period.
Still, it's difficult to imagine a majority of the conference supporting such a proposal. From a logistical standpoint, rescheduling the conference elections—which traditionally overlap with freshmen orientation, so that incoming members may participate—could prove impossible at this late stage.
More importantly, most Republicans are calling for unity heading into the next session of Congress, and several leading conservatives acknowledged Thursday that there likely won't be a contested leadership race anyway.
"I don't see anybody right now going forward and mounting a challenge to the speaker," said Rep. Raul Labrador, who lost his bid this summer for majority leader.

ISIS Calls For Radicalized Americans To Go To Homes Of U.S. Soldiers, 'Slaughter Them'

Via LH

ISIS is calling for radicalized "lone wolves" in the United States to go to the homes of U.S. soldiers and "slaughter" military personnel.

This is part of what is expected to be "a continued call" for American military personnel to be targeted within the United States.

According to Fox News, one British jihadist "encouraged radicals still living in the West to use Facebook and Linkedln to find and target soldiers." The jihadist tweeted: "You could literally search for soldiers, find their town, photos of them, look for addresses in Yellowbook or something. Then show up and slaughter them."

Rep. Walter B. Jones, a North Carolina Republican who sits on the House Armed Services Committee, said Friday on Newsmax TV's "America's Forum" that he will die with regret for voting to send troops into Iraq.

"A lot of my decisions are made on my faith," Jones told host J.D. Hayworth. "I will always regret for voting to send our troops into Iraq. It was an unnecessary war. I was too weak to vote my conscience. I will go to my grave regretting that I sent 4,000 Americans to die in Iraq, 30,000 severely wounded in Iraq and 100,000 Iraqis killed.

This came amid new reports that almost 4,000 Russia troops are massing in Crimea close to Ukraine's mainland.

'If I wanted, Russian troops could not only be in Kiev in two days, but in Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, Warsaw or Bucharest, too,' Putin was quoted as threatening, according to Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.

There have been a number of incidents across the nation in the past few years where criminals have claimed to be law enforcement officers in an effort to gain the upper hand in an armed robbery. In most instances, it seem to work… but not for this fake police officer and wannabe truck hijacker in San Antonio, who won’t be robbing anyone ever again.

A man attempting to rob a Wisconsin truck driver who was working a job in San Antonio Thursday night got more than he bargained for after the trucker pulled out his firearm and used it to protect himself, local authorities said.

The MUSEUM OF THE CONFEDERACY in Richmond, Va. is being DESTROYED

Via SHNV

I have previously stated that in visits I made as a small school child more than 55 years ago, were so exciting. We would be walked through the old Brockenbrough house, the White House of The Confederacy, which was where president and Varina Davis and their family live in Richmond from August 1861 until April 1865.

The house was opened up by Richmond ladies in 1886, and as time went on a move was made to collect museum items, relics, books, flags, weapons, uniforms, letters, personal mementos and all such Confederate historical items as they could gather.

Many of these items were directly from the Confederate veteran or his family, and were loaned or gifted obviously with the sole intention of care and love by and for Confederate and Southern people. TIMES HAVE CHANGED, and today the rotten liberals have wormed their way into the museum and have taken over.

NC: “Name Change for East Campus Hall

 http://d.lib.ncsu.edu/adore-djatoka/resolver?rft_id=0012799&svc.level=5&svc_id=info%3Alanl-repo%2Fsvc%2FgetRegion&svc_val_fmt=info%3Aofi%2Ffmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Ajpeg2000&url_ver=Z39.88-2004

The trend at university’s today is for those being taught, the students, to review the university’s past and especially buildings named for famous North Carolinians and demand them changed if they are not pleased with all the notable contributions of those honored.  Perhaps current Duke President Brodhead will decline the honor of having a hall named for him as future student activists will find issues with his beliefs and character.  Bernhard Thuersam

From “Duke Magazine,” special issue 2014, volume 100, No. 3:

Name Change for East Campus Hall

A former governor’s legacy prompted lobbying from student groups.

Aycock Hall isn’t Aycock Hall anymore.  In June, the East Campus hall became East Residence Hall – again. That’s the 113-year-old residence hall’s original name.  Trinity College named the building for former North Carolina Governor Charles B. Aycock in 1912.  More recently, representatives of Duke Student Government and the Black Student Alliance approached the administration, and eventually presented a formal proposal lobbying for a name change based on the legacy of Governor Aycock.  There was a review of Aycock’s leadership that found “while Governor Aycock made notable contributions to public education in North Carolina, his legacy is inextricably associated with the disenfranchisement of black voters,” wrote President Richard H. Brodhead in a letter to student leaders announcing the change.

The board of trustees approved the change, which was effective immediately.  A display will be placed in the lobby explaining the history of the hall’s name.”

Notes on Governor Aycock:

The base reason why Aycock and North Carolina Democrats pushed for disenfranchisement of the Negro was their belief that the black man was selling his vote, fraudulently voting in elections, and supporting alien carpetbag candidates who helped bring financial ruin to the State.  Aycock’s view was to take the vote away from the black man for a period, educate him in the moral and ethical principles and responsibilities of republican government, then return the franchise to him to be used properly.

In his January 1901 inaugural address Aycock said: “If we fail to administer equal and exact justice to the Negro who we deprive of suffrage, we shall in the fullness of time lose power ourselves, for we know that God, who is love, trusts no people with authority for a purpose of enabling them to do injustice to the weak.”  In 1903 he said: “But I would not have the white people forget their duty to the Negro.  We own an obligation to “the man in black” . . . We owe him gratitude; above all we owe him justice.

At the 1901 Negro State Fair Aycock said: “In glancing through the criminal statistics of the State, I find that while your race constitutes only one-third of the population of North Carolina, you commit one-half of the crimes.  Before you can ever take your proper place in the world, you must learn first obedience to law.  Inside of your own race you can grow as large and broad and high as God permits, with the aid, sympathy, and the encouragement of your white neighbors.”

Aycock said in April 1901: “ . . . If the Negro is ever educated it will be by the aid of Southern white men.  The North cannot do it. Philanthropists in the North think they can educate the Negro without the help of Southern whites, but they are mistaken . . . “

Rand Paul Implores Senate: Don’t Arm ‘Feckless Rebels In Syria’

 http://www.danzigercartoons.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/danzcolorplus6035.jpg

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul implored his fellow senators on Thursday to not authorize President Barack Obama’s request to train and arm the “feckless” rebels in Syria in order to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

“Let’s not compound the problem by arming feckless rebels in Syria who seem to be merely a pit stop for weapons that are really on their way to ISIS,” Paul said during a lengthy floor speech Thursday afternoon before the Senate voted on the bill. The House approved the legislation Wednesday.

“If there is a theme that connects the dots in the Middle East, it is that chaos breeds terrorism,” Paul said. “What much of the foreign policy elite fail to grasp, though, is that intervention to topple secular dictators has been the prime source of the chaos.”
