Pictures: 6th NC PATCON October 1st - 6th 2014

Eric informed me that the second weekend in May next year is Mother's Day weekend, so we will schedule the 7th NC PATCON for the third weekend: May 13 - 18, 2015

This pear tree, although completely rotten inside, continues to produce a bountiful crop each year.

Two of a delightful family from PA who attended for the first time and went home happily after winning the Barnett Jackal Crossbow

We're still eating the remains three days later after giving the vast majority of  leftovers to our neighbors.

Never seen these two guys before, must be Obama boys..........:)

Mirabelle, with  her father, hail from Georgia and come each time and are always a pleasure.

NC: BOOM: Husband of Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) Formed "Green Energy" Company to Profit From Obama Stimulus

Via comment by Anonymous on Producer of anti-Obamacare movie ‘Sick and Sicker’...

But the Democrat Senator from North Carolina claims she knew nothing -- nothing -- about her husband's "business":

Sen. Kay Hagan’s husband and son created a solar energy contracting company in August 2010, and then, using $250,644 in federal stimulus grant funds, her husband hired that same company to install solar panels at a building he owns.

Public records show that Green State Power was formed seven weeks before JDC Manufacturing — a company owned in part by Greensboro attorney Charles “Chip” Hagan III, Sen. Hagan’s husband — received the stimulus grant for the solar project at a 300,000-square-foot facility in Reidsville, N.C.

US Hiring Plummets Most Since June 2010, Fewest Hires Since Polar Vortex Ground Economy To A Halt

Via avordvet

On the surface, today's JOLTS report (which after we caught the BLS fabricating the data aggressively [7]a year ago is triple-scrubbed by government bureaucrats) was great: with total job openings of 4,835K, this was supposedly the highest number of job openings since January 2001, and just shy of the record high 5,273 seen in January of the same year, just before the recession hit to be precise.

There was, however, a big problem. Because while according to the BLS survey employers have almost never had more open positions, they have also decided to put an abrupt stop to hiring, something which certainly points to a major disconnect in the US labor market. In fact, according to the JOLTS report, its far less tracked "Hirings" number plunged from 4,934K to just 4,640K. This was the lowest number of monthly hiring since January's "Polar Vortex" ground the economy to a halt. What's worse, the 294K plunge in monthly hiring was the biggest monthly drop since June 2010, and was the third biggest monthly plunge in hiring since Lehman!

19 year old Kurdish Female Commander kills multiple ISIS in Suicide Mission & Kurds brace for a massacre in Kobani

Post Date: The examiner link below is presently bad and please see the comments. Also, there are conflicting reports.

On Sunday, October 6th, a 19 yr. old Commander, Ceylan Ozalp, (also known as “Diren” meaning “Resist” in Turkish), took her own life to avoid being taken hostage by ISIS. Ozalp, a Commander from the Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG), engaged in combat with an ISIS stronghold near Eastern Kobane. After engaging in an intensive struggle, she then became surrounded by ISIS members. English Alarabiya news reported - running out of ammunition, she shot herself with her last bullet, after saying “goodbye” to her comrades over the radio.

News reports of the event are varied as coverage from Rudaw news agency states Ozalp had actually infiltrated an ISIS stronghold, engaged in grenade warfare with militants and eventually blew herself up in suicide, killing many. In any case, she made a gallant point and gave her life in protection of what she believed in; as ISIS has been encroaching on Kobane and breathing down its neck.

ISIS on the move: Kurds brace for a massacre in Kobani

While Obama raises funds from Democrats, the Islamic State is preparing to raze an important Kurdish city.  Somehow ISIS is still on the move, despite all that American bombing, and it’s on the verge of overrunning a Syrian Kurdish town called Kobani, located near the Turkish border.  If Kobani falls, not only will the strategic loss to the Kurds be considerable, but unspeakable atrocities on a huge scale would be perpetrated by the victorious Islamic State.  Fox News and the Associated Press report on the situation:

“My son-in-law was killed by the SWAT team I founded” Former Sheriff turned Activist, Speaks Out

Via LH

“SWAT teams have been infiltrated by bullies with badges and guns who foster a mentality that killing criminals reduces recidivism”

William “Dub” Lawrence is a former city police officer, former US Marine, and former Sheriff of Davis County who has awaken to the reality of Police State USA. Sadly this awakening was sparked by the murder of his son-in-law by a SWAT team that he created.

In September 2008, he watched helplessly as the same SWAT team he helped create over 30 years earlier shot and killed Brian Wood, his 36-year-old son-in-law.

Since this horrible atrocity, Lawrence has become a leader of the growing police reform movement.

Slaves Freeing Themselves from Freedom

 http://www.sonofthesouth.net/slavery/photographs/plantation-slaves.jpg

Often mislabeling homeless black refugees in the South as “loyal,” Northerners saw them as easily-acquired and underpaid mercenaries who would help them subjugate the American South. Most of them were not so easily mislead, knew what their new friends had in mind, and simply wanted to go home to be left alone.

Slaves Freeing Themselves from Freedom

“At Hilton Head, in March 1862, it was proposed to organize out of certain loyal blacks, within easy reach, a patriotic Negro brigade.  But this reinforcement so little appreciated the intended honor that the vigilance of a strong picket of white soldiers was necessary to prevent the escape of the slave to his master.

With their Enfield rifles and other military equipments, one-third of the nucleus did, in fact, decamp. [Northern] General [David] Hunter’s force succeeded in recovering at least five of these refugees from freedom.  “Taken when fleeing toward the mainland, occupied by rebels, they were placed in irons and confined at the Rip Raps [along the shore]”

Fugitives from freedom, encountering every peril to escape therefrom, by some fugitive freedom laws are pursued, overtaken, loaded with irons and threatened with worse if they make further efforts to free themselves from freedom. It may be, in cold iron outline, is imaged something of deeper import – “the name of freedom graven on a heavier chain.”

'Time' Hits GOP Ad Created By Women as the 'Most Sexist' of the Year

Perhaps eager to restart the so-called Republican "war on women," Time magazine on Wednesday claimed to have found the "most sexist Republican ad of the year." Writer Charlotte Alter was outraged at a spot by the College Republicans National Committee promoting Florida's Rick Scott in a Say Yes to the Dress parody.

Alter complained that "in case there is any debate about whether 1) Republicans really want young women on board for the midterms and 2) they’re confused about how to do it," this commercial will "settle the question once and for all." The Time headline flatly declared, "This Is the Most Sexist Republican Ad of the Year."

Wanna Fight? The Top 5 Combat Rifles of All-Time

Via Michael

 Mosin Nagant M9130 Sniper Rifle
#5 Mosin Nagant M9130 Sniper Rifle

What’s the quickest way to start a fight? Be conservative or liberal, black or white, American, a man, or the easiest way—just be me. Another way to start a fight is declare you have ‘the’ list of the best combat rifles from the last century. So come one, come all! I am challenging all takers to come up with a better list! It’s King of the Hill time, and I am looking for anyone who thinks they have what it takes to knock me off my royal throne.

My first step was to compile a list, which was harder than you may think. The first few entries came easy enough, and then a few more. Before I knew, the list grew into a leviathan—that was the easy part. The hard part came when I tried to whittle the list down to just five and then decide the order.

Before I knew it, I was fighting with myself. The honorable mentions were many, but I save them and see what the challengers offer.

DHS to intensify attacks on freedom oriented citizens

Via Jeffery

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson testifies before Congress.

Within the last two weeks several tips came into the Examiner indicating pending dangers to certain groups of citizens. These tips led to a source who, speaking on condition of anonymity, alleges that just after the election a major initiative will be launched against citizens whose values are diametrically opposite to that of Barack Obama and the current Washington elitist leadership in Congress. According to the source, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will greatly intensify its attacks on freedom oriented citizens.

The source indicated that the those within DHS and the rest of the Obama Administration who support a massive crackdown on the liberties of citizens are ready to make a dramatic move once the midterm elections in November are over. These particular government employees, particularly those at the top levels, believe that Christians, Tea Party participants, and those who support the Constitution and oppose Obama and his "progressive" agenda are dangerous and need to be subjected to a purge.

AAR - 6th NC PATCON October 1st - 6th 2014

Eric informed me that the second weekend in May next year is Mother's Day weekend, so we will schedule the 7th NC PATCON for the third weekend: May 13 - 18 2015

********************************

6th NC PATCON October 1st - 6th 2014

I showed up Saturday morning for PATCON #6, along with two dozen other patriots. Brock and Dixie had everything organized (as always), from the good food right on down to perfect weather. A smaller group changed the dynamics, with more audience participation. It was an all-day roundtable, with good information flying back and forth, so I missed some names, etc.

The day started out with author Jim Hicks, author of the "Seasons of War" novels, which explore various scenarios which are likely AFTER a total collapse. Then, the guys from Alamance County Rangers showed us a radio message repeater for secure comms, discussed antenna modifications for extended range on hand-held radios, and offered to do some future training sessions.

The highlight for me was the Q&A session on Ebola. A medical professional gave us a clear, concise technical assessment of the risks and counter-measures, along with a lot of interaction, and interrupted once by FOOD! (priorities, right?) Good job!

Peter White then talked about ten things he needs to improve on, and encouraged us to do our own self-assessments. We finished with a productive discussion on future PATCONs, training proposals, and the raffle. The PA contingent made another good showing, but a local first-timer hit the big time, taking home (a temporary picture of) the 1911 and a brick of 223 ammo.

Sam - sorry you and Holly couldn't make it down. You were missed, plus I had planned to make field measurements on the TOC. If you can provide info on the make (Thomas or . . .?) and model, interior and undercarriage frame dimensions, etc., I can add to it with some on-line research and generate some basic plans.
