Epidemiologist: Stop the flights now

Via WRSA

Siata Johnson, 23, stands weakly with the help of a relative outside an Ebola treatment center near Monrovia, Liberia.
Infected men and women may not be contagious on the plane, but they could wreak havoc when they arrive.
The United States got its first scare from Ebola last week when Thomas Eric Duncan, a man sick with the virus, traveled from Liberia to Dallas. This man was feared to have been in contact with up to 100 people after he became contagious, all of whom had to be individually evaluated by public health professionals for their exposure risk. Half of these individuals are currently under observation. Nine of them considered to be at highest risk are being checked twice daily for symptoms.

Bodily fluids including vomit spread Ebola, and Duncan — who presented himself to a Dallas hospital only to be misdiagnosed and sent home — vomited on the sidewalk outside of his home.

Hot Mic Catches Reporters Talking About Ebola After White House Briefing

Via Cousin John

.......discussion by reporters in the White House briefing room. One would think that these reporters have more background information than the average American just because of the whispers they hear in the halls of the White House and Congress. The “insider” reporters were heard saying among other things, “we’re screwed.” Now with news that Ebola Patient Zero in Texas has died and there are more people out there with the virus, the reporters may be right.

Watch the video below. What do you think?

Interesting.

Ebola victims without symptoms can still be contagious

A group of German medical doctors in a peer-reviewed medical journal article published by Oxford University Press have challenged a key assumption regarding the Ebola virus repeatedly asserted by Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

 Blithering idiots.

My mother and father went to East Carolina University. My wife and I met at East Carolina, as did my brothers and their wives. I worked as a student assistant in the Sports Information Department, including the 1991 season were we went 11-1 and defeated NC State in the Peach Bowl.

Scratch me, and I bleed purple and gold.

That is why this story sickens me.

Tigers in the Mud: The Combat Career of German Panzer Commander Otto Carius

Otto Carius (left) and Oberfeldwebel Zwetti (right) in front of Zwetti's Tiger

"The prerequisite for bravery is fear.”- Otto Carius, Tigers in the Mud

The highest scoring tank ace alive today, with well over 150 kills to his credit.

WIKI

On 24 July 1944, Carius dashed ahead of his tanks in a motorcycle and sidecar on a reconnaissance mission, as he often did prior to a mission. No sooner had he got out of his motorcyle than he and his driver were ambushed by Soviet troops, suffering shots through the leg and arm, as well as four bullets in the back.

Carius tried to draw his weapon with his one healthy arm, but was stopped by a Russian officer who was aiming his pistol at Carius’ head. Just as the Russian pulled the trigger, Carius turned his head and the shot went into his neck.

As Carius faced death, the Tiger tanks from Carius’ company stormed onto the scene in a sort of Hollywood-style rescue operation. The Russians were scared off and Tigers stopped to help Carius. They bandaged him up and stopped the bleeding from his leg using Carius’ elastic suspenders. They put him on the back of one of the Tigers and Carius clung to the turret for dear life.

Suddenly, the Russians opened fire again. Carius stood up on his good leg and yelled at the tank commander, telling him were the fire was coming from. However, as the turret turned, Carius’ foot was jammed in between the turret and the hull.

Now completely exhausted and only one functional limb, Carius was taken to a field hospital where he was treated and made a full recovery after cheating death.

JW Confirms: 4 ISIS Terrorists Arrested in Texas in Last 36 Hours

Islamic terrorists have entered the United States through the Mexican border and Homeland Security sources tell Judicial Watch that four have been apprehended in the last 36 hours by federal authorities and the Texas Department of Public Safety in McAllen and Pharr.

JW confirmed this after California Congressman Duncan Hunter, a former Marine Corp Major and member of the House Armed Services Committee, disclosed on national television that at least ten Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) fighters have been caught crossing the Mexican border in Texas. The veteran lawmaker got the astounding intel straight from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Homeland Security agency responsible for guarding the 1,933-mile southern border.

Colleen Hufford, 54, was simply doing her job at Vaughan Food Distribution when her life was snatched away from her in one of the most horrific ways imaginable. Jah’Keem Yisrael, formerly known as Alton Nolen, who was recently fired from Vaughan after attempting to convert co-workers to the Muslim faith and getting into discussions about stoning women, rushed into the building and began stabbing Hufford. But, her nightmare got even worse.

After stabbing her countless time, he beheaded her. He was on to his next victim when the former CEO of Vaughan Foods, Mark Vaughan, who was also an Oklahoma County reserve deputy, shot him, thereby stopping the attack.

Witnesses reported that as Yisrael was committing his attack, he was shouting Islamic phrases. His Facebook page also details his conversion to Islam and the pride he had in the Islamic State (ISIS).

Savage ‘Civil War’ ignores own call to disparage and disarm Americans resisters

Via avordvet
Who are we to argue with a media Borg about resistance being futile?
National Park Service/modified by D. Codrea

“Michael Savage warns of a second Civil War in a ‘post-Constitutional’ society,” The Washington Times headline proclaims in a feature on the radio talk show star and author’s latest book, “Stop the Coming Civil War: My Savage Truth.”

“I fear the worst. Right now Americans are angrier and more divided than I’ve seen them since the 1960s,” Savage declares. “Right now the prognosis is not good. We have an incompetent zealot taking the nation down the road of weakness and centralized governmental control of every aspect of our daily lives. Just as individuals snap when the pressure becomes too great, so, too, does a nation.”

Weapon recovered from Phoenix crime scene may be tied to Fast and Furious

In the latest chapter of a scandal that has plagued outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder throughout his time at the Justice Department, recent reports indicate a gun used by illegal immigrants in Phoenix last year was obtained through the ill-conceived Fast and Furious program.
As Western Journalism recently reported, U.S. District Court Judge John D. Bates denied a DOJ request to conceal certain material associated with the program based on a claim of executive privilege. The agency has repeatedly denied requests to release pertinent documents, including one filed more than two years ago by the watchdog organization Judicial Watch, and, as a result of his perceived stonewalling, Holder was found in contempt of Congress.

Riots in Turkey kill 19 over failure to aid besieged Syrian Kurds

At least 19 people were reported killed in riots across Turkey, the deadliest street unrest in years, after the Kurdish minority rose up in fury at the government's refusal to protect a besieged Syrian town from Islamic State.

Street battles raged between Kurdish protesters and police across Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast, as the fallout from war in Syria and Iraq threatened to unravel the NATO member's own delicate peace process. There were also clashes in the commercial hub Istanbul and capital Ankara.

Across the frontier, U.S.-led air strikes appeared to have pushed Islamic State fighters back to the edges of the Syrian Kurdish border town of Kobani, which the militants have been poised to capture this week after a three-week siege.

The Civil War (sic) and 150 Years of Forgotten US Military Atrocities

Via LH

Troops cheering Sheridan amid the flames of the Shenandoah Valley.

Sheridan's Scorched Earth Campaign

by JAMES BOVARD

George Orwell wrote in 1945 that “the nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.” The same moral myopia has carried over to most Americans’ understanding of the Civil War. While popular historians have recently canonized the war as a practically holy crusade to free the slaves, in reality civilians were intentionally targeted and brutalized in the final year of the war.

The most dramatic forgotten atrocity in the Civil War occurred 150 years ago when Union Gen. Philip Sheridan unleashed a hundred mile swath of flames in the Shenandoah Valley that left vast numbers of women and childrens tottering towards starvation.  Unfortunately, the burning of the Shenandoah Valley has been largely forgotten, foreshadowing how subsequent brutal military operations  would also vanish into the Memory Hole.
