Okay, I want repartitions for the ones I'm sure I'm kin to who were forced walk The Trail of Tears. I want 400 acres, 4 tractors ( one of which will be a late-model Allis-Chambers G in mint condition, with every attachment ever made for it; this is non-negotiable, because I want it. :) ), plus every other piece of equipment to be here-after named, along with any variety and number of critters I so desire.

The 400 acres to consist of a mix of swamplandm river bottom land, upland, hay fields, crop fields, oak and hickory stands, long-leaf and lob-lolly pine stands, and popular and cedar stands, along with every square foot of it to be fenced and cross fenced to my hearts desire. It must have at least 2 major creeks, 2 20+/- acre lakes, with numerous small ponds scattered about it. Also, a life-time supply of any seed, fruit tree, vine, or other plant I so desire.

Just 40 acres and a mule?...... HAH, I think not!

Of course, I'm a reasonably-minded man, and I can be persuaded to drop all these rightful demands, by the US government doing one very simple thing:

Leave. Me. And. Mine. Alone. Forever.

  • Two Swedish citizens were convicted by a Gothenburg Court of joining an Islamist terror group in Syria and murdering two captives. Video evidence showed one victim being beheaded. "Every night when I have gone to bed, I have seen a head hanging in the air." — Court Chairman Ralf G. Larsson.
  • Sometime during the night, the victim was awakened by the Iraqi as he raped her. The woman managed to break free and locate a train attendant. At first, the woman did not want to call the police. "She felt sorry for him [the rapist] ... and was afraid he would be deported back to Iraq."
  • One week after Sweden raised its terror alert level to the highest ever, the police raised another alarm -- saying their weapons are simply not good enough to prevent a potential terror attack.

The United States of America that we grew up in, and in some cases fought for, no longer exists. I would like to write something stirring in defense of our Constitution, but it isn’t under attack. It is simply ignored. Some have proposed that we have a Constitutional convention to add new amendments. What would that accomplish?

Would our present Federal government respect a set of new amendments when they don’t respect the old ones? What good does it do to insist on one’s rights as a citizen, when in fact mere citizenship has lost its meaning? Americans have no rights officials in Washington feel bound to recognize. Both Republicans and Democrats overrule majority opinion as a matter of course. They do not doubt for a moment that they are the best and brightest, and that our voting franchise is merely an antiquated inconvenience. My elected representatives represent no one but themselves.

Don't miss the 3 minute video: Propaganda, Totalitarians, and Somnambulism

Via comment by Sioux on ‘Sweet Cakes’ Owners’ Bank Accounts Seized as Dama...

Propaganda indoctrination springing from totalitarian regimes can have two human reactions:  apathy and indifference to everything happening around you, admitting to yourself that there is nothing you can do about it, or the intense desire to study and understand it as if that process alone begins to redress what is wrong with such a system.Take for example, the much maligned and hated Christopher Columbus. It is not possible that one single human being had caused all the havoc the leftist academia and their worshippers are heaping upon his memory.

Columbus managed to sail his way to the new world, and on October 12, 1492, sighted land, probably Watling Island in the Bahamas, even though he was looking for a western passage to China and India. There is such rabid leftist and misplaced hatred for this man as if he was the biggest genocidal maniac in the history of the world. The cause of such virulent reactions is likely the decades of propaganda indoctrination in schools masquerading as history.

Washington| The Supreme Court of the United States has granted to the Georgian slave descendant, Abraham Brown, “40 acres of land and a mule”, in an historical decision that could affect thousand of African Americans.

The 61-year old man filed a lawsuit against the federal government in 2011, accusing the United States of violating their obligations to his ancestor, who died in 1891. His great-grandfather, Elijah Brown, along with 18,000 other freed slaves who had fought for the Union in the American Civil War, had been promised “40 acres of land and a mule” by the U.S. army in 1865, but never received anything.

Donald Trump may have recently been snubbed this week by the publisher of the largest newspaper in New Hampshire, but the Republican presidential front-runner is still managing to amass endorsements from a host of both likely and unlikely supporters. Case in point: As proof of the latter, John Wayne’s daughter recently expressed her allegiance to Trump, who she said “has finally given the people of America a voice.”

The new Dodge Challenger came on the street scene in 1970 with a long list of special options. The beautiful introductory-year example being offered here is a true two-owner Hemi Challenger R/T showing less than 34,000 miles since new. Painted in EF8 Dark Green Metallic with a V9X Black Transverse stripe at the back, this standout vehicle presents an excellent investment opportunity to its next caretaker.

Of all the R/T options available in 1970, one of the most desirable is the Shaker hood, as this was discontinued, and most 1970 Hemi Challengers received the standard non-functional blister-type scalloped hood. This car, documented with three broadcast sheets and featuring original sheet metal, is one of the handful from 1970 with a Shaker hood. Now recognized as just one-of-one built to the specifications on its documentation, it was bought new in 1970 by a soldier stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

State Department spokesperson John Kirby is raising eyebrows after he released a recap of 2015 “success stories” in which he credits the United States for bringing “peace” and “security” to Syria and “stepping up” to help the country’s people at a difficult time.
“The United States and many members of the international community have stepped up to aid the Syrian people during their time of need,” wrote Kirby in his laudatory year-in-review released late last week. He went on to claim that “the United States has led the world in humanitarian aid contributions since the crisis began in 2011.”

“Led by Secretary Kerry, the United States also continues to push for a political transition in Syria, and under his stewardship, in December, the [United Nations] Security Council passed a U.S.-sponsored resolution that puts forward a roadmap that will facilitate a transition within Syria to a credible, inclusive, nonsectarian government that is responsive to the needs of the Syrian people,” the report continued.

The criminal-justice system in Waco, Texas, continues to boggle the mind. In the wake of those killings, 177 bikers were arrested. How Donald Trump destroyed the Republican Party in 2015

Via Michael

 Fine with me.

History will remember 2015 as the year when The Republican Party As We Knew It was destroyed by Donald Trump. An entity called the GOP will survive — but can never be the same.

Am I overstating Trump’s impact, given that not a single vote has been cast? Hardly. I’m not sure it’s possible to exaggerate how the Trump phenomenon has torn the party apart, revealing a chasm between establishment and base that is far too wide to bridge with stale Reagan-era rhetoric. Can you picture the Trump legions meekly falling in line behind Jeb Bush or Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.)? I can’t either.

  • The curfews are accompanied by military assaults against civilian populations -- their homes, businesses, offices, historical monuments, reservoirs and infrastructure are being bombed and destroyed.
  • "No one can go outside. Our water is running out. The food at homes is running out. The telephone lines have been cut. The situation here is terrible. ... After declaring the curfew, they [the Turks] deploy soldiers, police and snipers in the evacuated schools. They have piled up their ammunition inside the schools." -- Osman Tetik, a representative in Cizre of the Education and Science Workers' Union.
  • "They are shooting bullets at hospitals and ambulances. The Ministry of Health is standing by as hospitals are turned into military quarters and as health institutions and employees become targets." -- Gonul Erden, co-President of the Trade Union of Public Employees in Health and Social Services.
  • "All those towns will be cleansed of terror elements. If necessary, neighborhood by neighborhood, house by house, street by street." -- Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, December 15.
  • The curfews and military assaults against Kurdish civilians have reportedly forced at least 200,000 Kurds to flee.
  • "This reminds me of the Bosnian genocide, the mass graves where I worked, and the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. People did not speak up against those mass murders, too. Later, in the face of those massacres, the state authorities were found guilty of staying silent, of looking the other way." -- Prof. Sebnem Korur Fincanci, President of the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey.
The Turks have begun another massacre in Kurdistan, this time bigger than before, and imposing curfews to pin down their victims. It is the latest demonstration of Turkey's 90-year-old extermination campaign against the Kurdish population.

Syria: It's Not a Civil War and it Never Was

Via comment by Sioux on Iraqi Commander: US Secretly Evacuated ISIS Leader...

As Syrian forces fight to wrest control of their country back and restore order within their borders, the myth of the "Syrian civil war" continues on. Undoubtedly there are Syrians who oppose the Syrian government and even Syrians who have taken up arms against the government and in turn, against the Syrian people, but from the beginning (in fact before the beginning) this war has been driven from abroad. Calling it a "civil war" is a misnomer as much as calling those taking up arms "opposition." It is not a "civil war," and those fighting the Syrian government are not "opposition."

Yawn. Another day, another hysterical article from a self-appointed Establishment “conservative” gatekeeper bemoaning the candidacy of Donald Trump and the imminent demise of the GOP and conservatism as we know it if Trump is not stopped. These have become so predictable that I didn’t even bother to read the thing before I started commenting on it on social media. They’re all the same. Trump is a buffoon. Trump is an authoritarian who doesn’t understand/respect the Constitution and the separation of powers and may even be a fascist. And best of all, authentic conservatives must support turning the United States permanently Blue through continued mass immigration and impoverishing the middle class with globalist phony “free” trade deals because of the free market… blah, blah … our values … blah, blah.

Well, the George Will article linked above gives us the first two, but oddly hangs its hat on the necessity of antagonism toward Putin and Russia as the reason why Trump is a mortal threat to authentic conservatism. No mention of immigration or trade deals at all. Color me surprised.

First of all, I have already addressed the issue of Trump’s demeanor in a previous article

Conservatives fretting about Trump’s presentation while the country spirals toward becoming irreversibly Blue due to mass immigration, is like fretting about the arrangement of the deck chairs on a rapidly sinking Titanic. If we don’t curtail immigration, then all the talk about every other issue on the conservative agenda is just beating our gums.

"It seems that the US intends to evacuate the ISIL terrorist group's infamous ringleaders secretly (with helicopters) from Ramadi to unknown places," he added.

His remarks came as Iraqi security forces continue to gain ground in Ramadi, and opened their way to the central parts of the strategic city where hundreds of ISIL terrorists are trapped under siege.

An Islamic State commander was killed in Salahuddin province and his body was searched. A cell phone retrieved from the corpse revealed messages from Turkish intelligence services proving the NATO country was providing security for ISIS militants when they traveled between Turkey and Iraq. This is the second NATO country implicated in assisting the Islamic State’s troops. The first was Canada.

The IS commander was killed by Hashd al-Shaabi, a loyalist volunteer force. Jabbar al-Ma’mouri, a leader within the force made the announcement. He said, “The mobile phone also contains other important information which cannot be disclosed now, and it has been delivered to the specialized security groups for further scrutiny.”

Turkey and the Islamic State share two enemies: President Assad of Syria and the Kurdish people. This incident comes on the heels of the Turkish Air Force shooting down a Russian plane engaged in operations against the Islamic State. Ten days ago, Turkey invaded Iraq briefly. It sent its troops to within a few hundred miles of where the phone was recovered. Turkish artillery has also rained shells down on the Kurdish community of Kobane.

[The concerns of Imad Moustapha, Syria's ambassador to China] were echoed by a Washington foreign affairs analyst who has closely followed the passage of jihadists through Turkey and into Syria. The analyst, whose views are routinely sought by senior government officials, told me that ‘Erdoğan has been bringing Uighurs into Syria by special transport while his government has been agitating in favour of their struggle in China.
Uighur and Burmese Muslim terrorists who escape into Thailand somehow get Turkish passports and are then flown to Turkey for transit into Syria.’ He added that there was also what amounted to another ‘rat line’ that was funnelling Uighurs – estimates range from a few hundred to many thousands over the years – from China into Kazakhstan for eventual relay to Turkey, and then to IS territory in Syria. . . . IHS-Jane’s Defence Weekly estimated in October that as many as five thousand Uighur would-be fighters have arrived in Turkey since 2013, with perhaps two thousand moving on to Syria. Moustapha said he has information that ‘up to 860 Uighur fighters are currently in Syria.’[1]

NC: Nathaniel Macon and the Origin of States’ Rights Conservatism

 macon
"The attempt to govern too much has produced every civil war that ever has been, and will, probably, every one that ever may be."

Back in 1975 the Warren County [N.C.] Historical Association initiated a comprehensive project to study the life and legacy of Nathaniel Macon. As a part of this project, both archaeological and architectural studies of his old Buck Spring plantation, near the Roanoke River, were commissioned.

Working with the professional staff of the North Carolina Division of Archives and History, the Macon project had, it was proposed at the time, a longer range potential objective: a possible state historic site to honor North Carolina’s most historically significant political leader, whose legacy and philosophy and character influenced not only generations of Tar Heels, but also a host of very illustrious Southerners, their thinking, and the very manner in which they lived their lives and viewed the society around them.

Working with architectural historians and experienced archaeologists, I was commissioned to prepare both a chain of title for the Buck Spring site, as well as a detailed written history of Macon and his life. All of this would be organized in a major report that might be used to justify the future creation of an important historic site, sadly never realized, giving credit finally to this giant of North Carolina and American history. At that time I was finishing up a doctorate in graduate school. A few years earlier Macon and his underappreciated significance to the history of this nation had figured in my MA thesis presented at the University of Virginia. I was amazed at the incredible importance “the Squire of Buck Spring” had had in the new American nation, and, more interestingly, the influence he had on such later and much better known figures as John C. Calhoun and President John Tyler.

In the U.S., the media mocks those who make their Christian practices public-such as praying for victims of terrorism or young people committing to abstain from sexual relations until married. Yet that same media attacks those voicing concerns about terrorism's link to Islamic beliefs as being Islamophobic.

In America, we see a nation so intimidated by political correctness that people in positions of responsibility make illogical decisions concerning the observation of a Christian holiday.

Recently, Eujin Jaela Kim, a new principal at Public School (PS) 169 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York, decided to prohibit the use of the word "Christmas" or displays of anything related to it including Santa, angels, gift-giving, a star, etc. Not only was Christmas taboo, Kim also mandated the Pledge of Allegiance be eliminated along with references to Thanksgiving Day.

Fortunately, when this story broke last week, Kim's boss, School Superintendent Anita Skop, took immediate action. While the Pledge had not been heard since the beginning of the school year at PS 169, it was recited loud and clear a few days after the story was published over the school's public address system by two fifth graders. The Christmas and Thanksgiving bans were also lifted.

Commies emerging from the woodwork.

To be clear, Christmas in the United States, despite the name, has very little to do with Jesus Christ and everything to do with consumerism and gift giving.

However, side by side with Easter, it’s also the time when we are most likely to see depictions of Jesus used as tools of white supremacy.

In Atlanta, I see them everywhere I go. Jesus as a blond-haired, blue-eyed baby and his blue-eyed supermodel mother are ubiquitous and done without even a slight hint of humor. It's preposterous. It would truly be no different from depicting Christopher Columbus as a dark-skinned African or Thomas Jefferson as a long-haired Latino. People actually look a certain way.

BERNIE "Lost My Mind" SANDERS Calls on TRUMP SUPPORTERS to Join His Socialist Revolution

Via Billy "SURE BERNIE, JUST TURN OUR RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OVER TO THE GOVERNMENT LIKE, PROPERTY OWNERSHIP, GUN RIGHTS, FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND THE REST OF THEM."

"What Trump has done with some success is taken that anger, taken those fears, which are legitimate and converted them into anger against Mexicans, anger against Muslims. I think for his working class and Middle Class support we can make the case that if we really want to address the issues people are concerned about, why the Middle Class is disappearing. Massive income and wealth inequality.”

That’s right, Bernie. Because after seven years of Obama’s disastrous policies to destroy the Middle Class what America needs right now is another Socialist!

GEORGE WILL AND CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Don’t You Get It? You Fools Helped Create Donald Trump!

Via Michael

Longtime "conservative" columnists George Will and Charles Krauthammer are apoplectic about the possibility that Donald Trump may become the Republican Party's nominee for President.

Will's recent temper tantrum in print implied that the establishment should consider support for Hillary Clinton and asserted that the GOP may splinter because the party leadership didn't get its way.

Similarly, Krauthammer has been a constant critic of Trump's run, calling him a "rodeo clown" and "deeply bigoted" for his proposal to suspend Muslim immigration* until the San Bernardino terror attack can be deconstructed.

Jeff Sessions popularity soars as 2016 campaign season heats up

Donald Trump isn't one to embrace sitting politicians -- let alone, seek their consultation on policy matters.

But the real estate mogul and GOP frontrunner for president wasn't shy about embracing U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions during a during a rally in August at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Trump also asked for Sessions' help in crafting his immigration proposal.

Ted Cruz – the GOP candidate polling closest to Trump – attempted to trump Trump when he proclaimed during a rally Saturday in Daphne that Sessions would make a good addition to his cabinet as chief of Homeland Security. The crowd roared its approval.

There’s a theory going around that Donald Trump might be in an even better position than you think

In 1982, California voters were supposed to elect former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley as the state's governor.

Bradley went into the election with a sizable lead over George Deukmejian. Exit polls projected a Bradley win. But when the ballots were counted, Deukmejian came out the winner.

Do Black Lives Matter and Islamic Radicals Have the Same Bosses?

There was all manner of "information" spread across the Internet in recent days about a big Black Lives Matter protest  that those people were going to hold at the Mall of America in Minneapolis over Christmas weekend. They were going to force shoppers to endure their leftist propaganda in order to finish their shopping and I guess they figured on intimidating many of the businesses there, quite possibly to wring some sort of concessions out of them now or later. However, their balloon burst before they quite got it all the way blown up.

Seems that lots of the business owners there didn't feel they wanted to put up with all that hassle and so they just shut down early and went home, and lots of police showed up and what was supposed to be a major propaganda event with about 3,000 protesters ended up with a fizzled-out group of about 600 who never really got to protest. Poor babies! I just bet it ruined their whole weekend!

I don't believe it: Trey Gowdy to Endorse, Campaign With Marco Rubio

Gowdy, what a disappointment.  No one left for me to believe in other than Ron Paul now.

Townhall has confirmed rumors that Rep. Trey Gowdy -- widely admired as a principled fighter among many grassroots conservatives -- will join Sen. Marco Rubio on the campaign trail in Iowa next week:

Merry Christmas: Judge Rules In Favor Of Seattle’s Gun Tax

Via Cousin Bill

In Seattle, exercising your Second Amendment rights is now a taxable activity. Recently, a judge ruled that the city's ordinance that adds a $25 tax on firearms sold within the city limits, plus an additional two to five cent fee on every round of ammunition, fell within the council's taxing authority. The law goes into effect next year (via CBS News):

Rogue NATO

NATO is an organization that’s endangering world peace, especially with respect to Russia. In doing so, its member states have been violating their own NATO Treaty commitments.

NATO military forces have intervened in a major way in Libya (March-October, 2011), in the old Yugoslavia (1992-2004, specifically Bosnia, Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Kosovo), and in Afghanistan (2001-2014). It’s interesting that none of these countries were or are in NATO. That is, NATO attacked in other countries; and there were no threats or armed attacks on NATO members to justify these attacks.

NATO currently is intervening in Ukraine through a variety of joint ventures, from political support to military exercises. It’s interesting that Ukraine also is not in NATO. Again, there are no threats or armed attacks on NATO members to justify this intervention.

The situation in Syria is dangerous because of various interventions from foreigners, including NATO members.

San Clemente, Fallbrook, San Onofre Camp Pendleton, Madera and Capistrano Beach

With Paul on our adult chairs. :)

John on the right and his family came to Dixieland to visit some years ago. We lived next to him in San Clemente for many years where the side yards were very small.  Since I had but one bathroom and many girls, I frequented watered my peach tree nightly.  If John was outside he would yell "Brock, what are you doing? :)  I taught Virgina to shoot a .22 in the same side yard, a matter which would be quickly frowned upon today.

This and the following three are at Charlene's house in Madera.  She came to visit last year in Cape Carteret. She is seriously contemplating joining a cloistered convent and if so, many hearts will be broken and among them her kindergarten class.

Roughing it. :)
