As all of this incendiary, mass-produced outrage burns its way across national headlines concerning Indiana Senate Bill 568 [i.e. the Religious freedom restoration act], the onslaught of so much scathing enmity expressed towards a law and by extension our nation’s own 1st amendment (which, in a sane America, would suffice as the only document necessary in defending religious freedom) couldn’t make it anymore denotative to this archetypical pattern attributed to the inveterate grinding down of America. Methods of subversion actuated by a social caste of schismatic militants designed to undermine and overthrow our country, our laws, our traditions, values, and beliefs.

In short, everything intrinsic to our heritage and entire way of life. Consequentially, these spectacles of simulated umbrage and hostility directed at hapless Indiana Governor Mike Pence are perverse when you understand the underlying impetus of deceit behind all of it. But even more infuriating has been Pence’s subsequent caving in to the opprobrious coercion of these monomaniacs. A trait that has become synonymous with the GOP establishment as it relates to their chronic acquiescing to the political skullduggery of Barack Hussein Obama, that makes me think of them anymore as an intimidated housewife trapped in a dysfunctional marriage, constantly bludgeoned into submission by an abusive drunkard for a spouse.

Only this time the business is not a corporation it’s a family restaurant without the corporate resources.

Rep. Chaffetz: DOJ Disregards Law by Not Charging Lerner With Contempt

Lois Lerner, the former IRS official whose office gave improper scrutiny to tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status, will not be charged with contempt of Congress.

Outgoing U.S. Attorney Ron Machen disclosed the Justice Department's decision in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner dated March 31. Machen is resigning Wednesday as the top federal prosecutor in Washington.

The decision comes 11 months after the House of Representatives voted to hold Lerner in contempt.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform committee that has been also investigating the IRS, issued the following in response to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) decision to not proceed with a criminal contempt prosecution of Lerner:

"Today’s announcement is disappointing and exhibits a disregard for the rule of law.  Mr. Machen attempted to absolve Ms. Lerner of her actions by substituting his judgment for that of the full House of Representatives.  It is unclear whether the Administration directed Mr. Machen not to prosecute Lois Lerner, or whether he was motivated by an ideological kinship with IRS’s leadership.

When the FCC created new rules for Net Neutrality by reclassifying the Internet as a Title II public utility, Chairman Tom Wheeler dismissed the idea of new taxes and fees as a myth. Now that the Net Neutrality Order has been made public, it is becoming clear that Chairman Wheeler is being less than honest. The real myth is that Big Government can regulate one of the greatest innovations mankind has ever known without adding to its cost. The reality is that new taxes and fees are coming.

French priests increased their efforts to penetrate Korea in the 1830s and were executed for violating Korean law, and Koreans learned that foreign fleets would be sent to enforce the work of the Vatican. More Catholics were executed, and when the French threatened to mount a punitive expedition, Koreans found it incomprehensible: “they told the French that they would understand perfectly the execution of their own nationals in France, should they try to disseminate Korean views there.”

The General Sherman Destroyed

“The United States also tried its hand at opening up Korea in 1866, when the merchant schooner General Sherman sailed up the Taedong River toward P’yongyang. A heavily armed ship with a mixed crew of Americans, British and Chinese, it received the message that it was not just Christianity that contravened Korean law but also foreign commerce.

Undaunted, the General Sherman forged ahead. Shortly a hostile crowd gathered on the shore, into which the frightened sailors unloaded their muskets. After that volley the provincial governor, a much respected and temperate official named Pak Kyu-su (who later negotiated the first treaty with Japan), ordered the General Sherman destroyed. The tide obliging receded, grounding the vessel. The Koreans killed all its crew in battle and burned the ship – unwittingly taking revenge for an Atlanta that could not.

It was a dastardly act, the authorities in Washington declared; what an outrageous affront to a peaceable bunch of people who just happened to be sailing a man-o-war up the river to P’yongyang! None other than Secretary of State William Seward, architect of westward expansion, proposed a joint expedition with the French to punish the Koreans . . . But it did not happen until 1871. By then the US government had decided to open Korea’s ports by force . . .

In this famed “Little War with the Heathen,” as the New York Herald called it, the American Asiatic Squadron . . . steamed through the straits near [Kangwha], where it took fire from newly cast Korean cannons. Marines hit the beaches at Kangwha and sought to capture several Korean forts. In the end about 650 Koreans [who battled ferociously] died [but after] some desultory and fruitless negotiations, the Americans withdrew.

The “Little War with the Heathen” was little noted nor long remembered in the United States, but [there exists] the stone monument that marks the spot where the General Sherman burned. It is not far from Kim Il Sung’s birthplace . . . and Koreans of that era thought that their staunch moral virtue had sent the foreigners packing, even if their weapons were technologically backward.”

Chicago Robbers Appear to Copy Mexican Cartel Roadblock Tactics

A group of robbers on the south side of Chicago appear to have taken a page out of the Gulf Cartel or Los Zetas manual for setting up roadblocks in order to carry out violent robberies. Just last week a group of three or four robbers have used a construction area in the city’s south side to set up roadblocks as a trap for motorists.

Once the motorists stop, they were assaulted and robbed, UPI news reported.

The practice bears a striking similarity to a practice already established by both the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas who set up roadblocks around Mexican border cities to keep their enemies out or to rob unsuspecting motorists.

"To me, this all points to Benghazi," Attkisson added. "There are things she didn't want to turn over and did not turn over – communications regarding the story that the administration most wants to go away, most wants to controversialize and most wants to say is a non-story. That's what it says."

What a surprise.

I've been writing this column for eight years; the first columns in the archives are from 4-1-2007.

For eight years I have chronicled the abuses in our nation's economic and political systems, tying most of them to economic concerns of one sort or another.  It began on Blogger and drove a fairly major software development effort on my part to put together the software currently in use here today -- a package that is capable of much more than it does at present.

I began this journey as a sort of private debt repayment, if you will, to people who I knew that got seriously harmed in the 2000 tech wreck.  I escaped as I saw it coming, but whether that was really all skill or there was a huge element of either luck or divine intervention I'll never know; there were certainly personal issues in my life that were partly responsible for my decision to divest MCSNet in 1998.

I've heard many people over those years tell me that I'm not only inflexible but I also never admit I'm wrong.  Those of you in that camp couldn't be more mistaken. Who remembers my rather long 2007 missives in which I expected very heavy inflation and dollar devaluation, accompanied with an energy cost spike that would literally destroy the economy?  I, like many others, wasn't looking at the whole picture; I had bought hook, line and sinker into some of the econometric models put forward by so-called professors and their claims, believing without demanding evidence and proof rooted in fundamental algebra that they were providing an honest and accurate assessment.

20-year-old man charged with misdemeanor in St. Louis train attack

 Victim Says a Simple Question About Michael Brown ...

A 20-year-old man was charged Tuesday with assaulting a St. Louis commuter who reported he was beaten after being asked about the officer-involved shooting death of Michael Brown.

Ronald Williams was charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault. However, St. Louis prosecutors decline to pursue the case as a hate crime against the 43-year-old victim. Cellphone video of the attack went viral after it was posted on social media.

Williams, who is black, was arrested Monday with a 15-year-old boy. The boy’s status was unclear Tuesday because he is a juvenile under state law.

Sessions: Obama’s DHS may have retaliated against immigration officers who enforced laws

The Senate Immigration Subcommittee led by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) has launched an investigation into whether the Obama administration’s Department of Homeland security retaliated against immigration officers for simply doing their jobs and enforcing the law.

In February of this year, President Obama said during a televised town hall meeting that there could be “consequences” for immigration enforcement officers who are not willing to ignore immigration statutes on the books in favor of the president’s executive actions.

“There may be individual officials or Border Patrol who aren’t paying attention to our new directives,” the president said. “But they’re going to be answerable to the head of the Department of Homeland Security, because he’s been very clear about what our priorities should be… If somebody is working for ICE and there is a policy and they don’t follow the policy, there are going to be consequences to it.”

Sessions’ subcommittee on Tuesday sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson criticizing the president’s remarks and asking for insight into whether he had taken any disciplinary action against any immigration officials for enforcing the law.
