How To Escape The Age Of Mass Delusion

Via WRSA

How To Escape The Age Of Mass Delusion

Mass delusion is an important tool of oppressors because they can’t survive free expression. That’s why the First Amendment’s a target.

Nearly 100 years ago, Walter Lippmann wrote about “the manufacture of consent” in his classic work, “Public Opinion.” On the heels of that book, Edward Bernays penned a little volume called “Propaganda,” in which he stated that an elite would always be responsible for making the public aware of “new ideas” which the public would then act upon as the elite nudged them into it. Related, but more in-depth is Jacques Ellul’s 1962 book, “Propaganda: The Formation of Men’s Attitudes.”

Political propaganda aims to mobilize the masses to move an agenda forward. That’s most effectively done when the masses are unaware of the process. It’s what “community organizers” work towards, whether they know it or not. Once the masses are mobilized to push for a cause, the propagandists’ goals can be put into law.

In fact, many newly propagandized ideas seem to have taken America by storm just in the past decade or so. Same-sex marriage is only one of those ideas. Transgenderism is now eclipsing that notion, and its propaganda techniques—wrapped in the language of civil rights—are getting Americans on board with the idea of erasing all sex distinctions in law, including their own. It’s as though Americans are buying into a fast-talking sales pitch without being allowed to read the print, whether it’s large print or small.

There’s more on the horizon: a singles’ rights movement that promises to end legal recognition of all marriage. Then there is transhumanism, which includes a push to end “fleshism” by enacting laws that protect non-biological entities from discrimination.

Propaganda Is Directing Us Leftward

EDITOR’S NOTE: Having turned America into a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah, US president Barack Obama wants to bring his rainbow gospel to Africa. But the Africans, who are very pro-family, anti-abortion and anti-same sex marriage, have a stern warning for him should he try to do that. They said “we shall tell him to shut up and go home”.  Amen.
NAIROBI – Mobs of Kenyans rallied in Nairobi on Monday against homosexuality and a lawmaker warned U.S. President Barack Obama should not push a pro-gay agenda when he visits the country later this month.

The Big Push For the SC House

Via Dean

Friends of the Confederate Battle Flag,

Most of you are now aware that the SC Senate voted to remove the Confederate Battle Flag after refusing all amendments by a vote of 37-3. In fact, after the proposed amendment by Senator Lee Bright to substitute The First National Flag of the Confederacy failed it was clear it is not The Confederate Battle Flag in their sights it is everything Confederate. Senator Bright announced he was not in favor of his amendment, but proposed it strictly to see how that body would react if offered a Flag not associated with racism or hatred.

Now we need the SC House to stand firm with the only compromise allowed is a statewide referendum. If the House calls for a referendum the Senate will follow! We MUST KEEP THE EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS TO OUR REPRESENTATIVES UP!

You can find all of the numbers for the House and Senate members at National SCV Heritage Defense site.  scvheritagedefense.org

This will be on the agenda tomorrow when the House goes back into session. Let those that are not behind KEEPING THE FLAG FLYING know the People of South Carolina will be heard from on this issue one way or another (votes count). None of them wish to face their constituents if the Flag comes down.

We cannot waiver at this late date our ancestors certainly did not. If we force these men to take the Flag from our clutched hands then we have fought the battle of our ancestors, and we like them can hold our heads high. I ask each and every one of you to reach deep within yourselves call every one of our Representatives again, and send more emails. Our actions can stop this assault on Dixie.

You can find all of the individual Senate Emails here – Senate Email Addresses

You can find all of the individual House Member Emails here –  House Email Addresses

Accept my admiration for the rank and file membership of the South Carolina Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and our friends. You truly have made a difference, and it is my great honor to be a small part of this valiant endeavor no matter what the outcome of tomorrow in the SC House.

Yours in support of our Cause,

Commies deface UNC’s ‘Silent Sam’ Confederate memorial

Via Billy

"Not the way to go," says Rick White, UNC's associate vice chancellor of communications and public affairs, after vandals defaced Silent Sam on McCorkle Place over the July Fourth holiday. The statue, wrapped in white to hide the spray paint damage, on Sunday, July 5, 2015, was erected in 1913 as a monument to the 321 alumni of the university who died in the Civil War and all students who joined the Confederate Army. In this photo, black spray paint mars the figure of a woman on the monument base.

A UNC spokesman condemned vandalism that defaced the university’s monument to Confederate war soldiers over the July Fourth holiday.

“We understand that the issue of race and place is both emotional and, for many, painful,” Associate Vice Chancellor of Communications and Public Affairs Rick White said in a statement.

“Carolina is working hard to ensure we have a thoughtful, respectful and inclusive dialogue on the issue,” he continued. “The extensive discussions with the Carolina community this past year by the Board of Trustees and university leadership, and the work we will be doing to contextualize the history of our campus is a big part of advancing those conversations.

“We welcome all points of view, but damaging or defacing statues is not the way to go about it,” he said.

Senate votes 37-3 to remove Confederate battle flag from Statehouse grounds

When the bill crosses the hall, it’ll likely be met with an amendment by Rep. Mike Pitts, R-Laurens, who said he’d like to see the battle flag replaced with Bonnie Blue.

4:07 p.m. update: Members of the South Carolina Senate have voted 37-3 to remove the Confederate battle flag from the Statehouse grounds.

Sen. Lee Bright, R-Roebuck, objected to giving the bill automatic third reading, which is usually a procedural vote, on Tuesday. For the bill to be sent to the House, it will need a two-thirds vote.

Monday’s three ‘nay’ votes were from Bright, and Sens. Harvey Peeler and Danny Verdin. Plus, for the bill to be amended on third reading, it would need a three-fifths vote.

Trading Places

The US and Europe are adopting the model that Russia, China and India are discarding.

The failure of command and control is writ large across the twentieth century and  the  first fifteen years of the twenty-first culminating in the collapse of the Soviet Union  and  upheaval and transition away from the Maoist model in China.

The  Western  nations  are  not  yet totalitarian  night-mares. Russia, China and India are not libertarian paradises and may never be so. What is important for real-time analysis as history unfolds, is to recognize the direction and magnitude of incremental moves at the margin, which yields the conclusion that the latter are moving away from statism while the former increasingly embrace it. Not only do these trends have important geopolitical implications, they suggest an investment strategy far different, and far more profitable, than the one most Western investors, individuals and institutions, currently employ.

Is the Confederate Flag “Becoming Illegal”?

Since July 4th is the day we are supposed to celebrate our “freedom” under this glorious Union, I thought it was appropriate today to take note of this short article I came across on the Rebellion Blog Spot the other day. It fit in so perfectly with our vaunted “freedom and independence” in the “freest country in the world” (according to Bush 2) I just couldn’t pass it up.

A man in a city in Florida was not happy with the politically correct stance of Walmart in their mad rush to empty their stores of Confederate flags after the tragedy in Charleston, which is conveniently being blamed on the flag instead of the medication the young man was on. So he went and stood in front of his local Walmart with a Confederate flag, fastened to a plastic pole.

It didn’t take the Thought Police, this time in the form of the local police, long to arrive to apprehend this most dangerous threat to society–after all this man was carrying one of those “racist” flags!

Will Taking Down Confederate Flags Promote Social Peace?

Of Course Not

Mike Scruggs

 https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ea/James_Power_Smith.jpg/220px-James_Power_Smith.jpg

Will taking down Confederate flags promote social peace or racial healing? How long would a peace based on suppression of a people’s cherished heritage last?  How long would a peace built upon suppressing the memory, valor, and virtue of the revered forebears of a great number of the Southern people last?  What could possibly be a surer cause of immense strife, bitterness, and economic and political turmoil?

Does anyone outside of a madhouse believe that peace and prosperity can be achieved by discarding the heritage of a numerous people to gain the political favor of another?  It is more likely to shatter all hope of peace.  Can a society set itself against tolerance and mutual respect and have peace? No fair-minded person can accept such corrupt reasoning.

Suppressing the chief symbol of Southern Heritage or “confining it to private property,” as South Carolina’s Governor Nikki Haley has now suggested—in complete contradiction to her campaign statements a year ago—is quite obviously an act of disfavor. Taking away the honor previously given to Confederate veterans and Confederate dead is an obvious act of dishonor.

The unholy bargain here is to insult one constituency to gain the political favor of another.

Removing Confederate symbols and flags does not exactly meet the Four Way Rotary Test. It is not based on the truth. It is based on many years of slanderous propaganda, agitation, and racial political pandering. Is it fair to all concerned? No, and nobody with any sense of fairness is going to believe it is fair to all. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Do misrepresenting, slandering, and degrading the Confederate cause, Confederate soldiers, and their descendents create goodwill and solid friendships?  Will it be beneficial to all concerned? It would probably be beneficial to the Democrat Party, and agitation against every remnant of Southern Heritage would advance to new levels.

I find it remarkable how many political, media, business, and religious leaders respond to tragedy or bullying by powerful special interest agitators with unfounded and hysterical condemnations of long-honored traditions and institutions. Moreover, I find it disturbing that such condemnations and proclamations are increasingly made without a lick of serious homework on the issues involved. In this hysterical state, truth and logical reasoning seem always to be trumped by shaky emotional perceptions. Emotional anecdotes dominate all communications, and facts and statistics are ignored. Little thought is given to logical primary or secondary consequences or the possibility of serious insult and injustices resulting from hurried emotional decisions.

Political Correctness always reminds me of the hysteria surrounding the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, where innocent people were executed on the basis of visions or dreams of their accusers. Many were condemned to death because an accuser had testified to seeing the “specter’ of the accused doing harm or witchcraft. Hysterical young girls pointed a finger at whoever they claimed was a witch, and it was taken as credible evidence. Many of the accused were tortured until they confessed to witchcraft.

For much of 1692, lies ruled in Salem. Historical perspective later showed that many of the 19 alleged witches hanged and one tortured to death in Salem were not only innocent but among the most godly in the community.  A substantial number of the accusers had unsavory reputations or were suffering acute mental illness. Other analysis indicates that envy and long-standing grudges in Salem society played an important role in this tragic miscarriage of justice. What has Salem in 1692 got to do with Washington or Columbia?

Politically correct lies and moral cowardice seldom result in just government and often result in totalitarian government.

In our modern culture, the lies usually come as politically correct falsehoods that must be embraced as “truth” to avoid social condemnation and its likely economic penalties.  Those who strive hard to meet the truth-conflicting standards of political correctness are especially prone to hysterical condemnation of the innocent. The scapegoat is condemned to avoid offending the sacred cow, which is often an important but false historical narrative. “Civil War” history has always suffered from a high dose of Union propaganda about the causes of the war, but the current dominance of cultural Marxism (political correctness) in American history and especially the “Civil War” has served to hinder even discussion of many important and easily substantiated truths that strongly contradict the politically correct narrative.

The Reverend James Power Smith, the last surviving member of Stonewall Jackson’s staff had this to say in 1907:
“No cowardice on any battlefield could be as base and shameful as the silent acquiescence in the scheme which was teaching the children in their homes and schools that the commercial value of slavery was the cause of the war, that prisoners of war held in the South were starved and treated with barbarous inhumanity, that Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee were traitors to their country and false to their oaths, that the young men who left everything to resist invasion, and climbed the slopes of Gettysburg and died willingly on a hundred fields were rebels against a righteous government.”
In response to Governor Haley’s exhortation that the Confederate flag “does not represent the future” of South Carolina, I would caution her with these quotes from the Annual Commencement address delivered on June 15, 1882, at Hampden Sidney College in Virginia, entitled, “The New South,” by Reverend Robert L. Dabney, one of the most prominent theologians, scholars, and social and political commentators of his era, who had served as a Confederate Chaplain and as Stonewall Jackson’s Chief of Staff during the war:

“It behooves the New South, in dismissing the animosities of the past, to see to it that they retain all that was true in its principles or ennobling in its example. There are those pretending to belong to this company who exclaim: ‘Let us bury the dead past.  Its issues are all antiquated, and of no more practical significance.  Let us forget the passions of the past.  We are in a new world.  Its new questions alone concern us.’  I rejoin:  Be sure that the former issues are dead before you really bury them!  There are issues that cannot die without the death of the people, of their honor, their civilization and their greatness.  Take care that you do not bury too much, while burying the dead past:  that you do not bury the inspiring memories of great patriots, whose actions, whether successful or not, are the eternal glory of your race and section; the influence of their virtues, the guiding precedents of their histories.  Will you bury the names and memories of a Jackson and Lee, and their noble army of martyrs?  Will you bury true history whose years are those of the God of Truth?”

“There is one point on which you insist too little, which is vital to the young citizens of the South.  This is, that he shall not allow the dominant party to teach him a perverted history of the past contests.  This is a mistake of which you are in imminent peril. With all the astute activity of their race, our conquerors strain every nerve to pre-occupy the ears of all America with the false version of affairs, which suits the purposes of their usurpation.

With a gigantic sweep of mendacity, this literature aims to falsify or misrepresent everything; the very facts of history, the principles of the former Constitution as admitted in the days of freedom by all statesmen of all parties; the very essential names of rights and virtues and vices.  The whole sway of their commercial and political ascendancy is exerted to fill the South with this false literature.  Its sheets come up, like the frogs of Egypt, into our houses, our bed chambers, our very kneading troughs.  Now, against this deluge of perversions I solemnly warn young men of the South, not for our sakes, but for their own.  Even if the memory of the defeated had no rights; if historical truth had no prerogatives; if it were the same to you that the sires whose blood fills your veins, and whose names you bear, be written down as traitors by the pen of slanderous history, still it is essential to your own future that you shall learn the history of the past truly.”

Plans call for giant Confederate flag monument

Via Billy

A former Dunlap mayor wants to create what could be the largest image of the Confederate battle flag in the South to preserve what he says is an important part of American history and his own heritage.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports that Carson Camp wants to use the side of Fredonia Mountain in the pastoral Sequatchie Valley to paint the flag, which would be as large as two football fields.

Camp’s family owns several hundred acres on the Cumberland Plateau, including a portion of one of the Trail of Tears routes onto the plateau.

Burma fisherman goes home after 22 years as a slave

Via comment by Anonymous on Squid Inc. "For whom the bell tolls. I could not imagine this life of toil. Since slavery is all about, now this was a slave:

 Myint Naing, Khin Than

All he did was ask to go home.

The last time the Burmese slave made the same request, he was beaten almost to death. But after being gone eight years and forced to work on a boat in faraway Indonesia, Myint Naing was willing to risk everything to see his mother again. His nights were filled with dreams of her, and time was slowly stealing her face from his memory.

So he threw himself on the ground and roped his arms around the captain's legs to beg for freedom.

The Thai skipper barked loud enough for all to hear that Myint would be killed for trying to abandon ship. Then he flung the fisherman onto the deck and chained down his arms and legs.

Myint was left for three days to burn in the searing sun and shiver in the nighttime rain, without food or water. He wondered how he would be killed. Would they throw his body overboard to wash up on shore, like the other corpses he'd seen? Would they shoot him?

Or would they simply bash his head open, as they had done before?

He was never going to see his mother again. He would simply disappear, and she wouldn't even know where to look.
