Jeff Foxworthy: A Country Founded by Geniuses but Run by Idiots

Via Michael

If plastic water bottles are okay, but plastic bags are banned, — you might live in a nation (state) that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots WE DO LIVE IN SUCH A DUMB COUNTRY!!
If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for entering and remaining in the country illegally — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or to take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If you MUST show your identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor, or check out a library book and rent a video, but not to vote for who runs the government — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If the government wants to prevent stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines that hold more than ten rounds, but gives twenty F-16 fighter jets to the crazy new leaders in Egypt — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If, in the nation’s largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not one 24-ounce soda, because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If an 80-year-old woman who is confined to a wheelchair or a three-year-old girl can be strip-searched by the TSA at the airport, but a woman in a burka or a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If a seven-year-old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is “cute” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government regulation and intrusion while not working is rewarded with Food Stamps, WIC checks, Medicaid benefits, subsidized housing, and free cell phones — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If you pay your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big-screen TV, while your neighbor buys iPhones, time shares, a wall-sized do-it-all plasma screen TV and new cars, and the government forgives his debt when he defaults on his mortgage — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If being stripped of your Constitutional right to defend yourself makes you more “safe” according to the government — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

Black Mayor Wants to Ban Trump from City

Via comment by Anonymous on It Should Be Clear By Now That @FOXNews Hates Trum..

"If I were Trump, I’d BUY Philadelphia and make Nutter my cabin boy!"

Who does Philly Mayor Michael Nutter think he is, an African dictator?

The Mayor of Philly is a fool if he believes he can tell presidential candidates if they can or cannot enter Philadelphia, the cradle of liberty!

Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump’s proposal to block all Muslims from entering the U.S. has upset Nutter’s sensibilities. I guess what Nutter is saying that terrorists are worth supporting more than taxpaying America citizens, and possibly a man who could run the country?

John Brown’s Raid and North Carolina

 http://www.boolumbal.org/photo/art/default/7162840-10983989.jpg?v=1415712067

The request for arms on the part of Southern States prior to 1860 was the predictable result of abolitionists inciting murderous slave uprisings, and the bloodshed caused by John Brown and his many Northern conspirators. Had reasonable and peaceful solutions to African slavery been advanced by the slave-trading North instead, war might have been avoided. North Carolinians were very reluctant to leave the Union of their Fathers, but Lincoln’s policy of war drove the State to form a more perfect union in the South.

John Brown’s Raid and North Carolina

“Scarcely had he [President James Buchanan] returned to Washington when John Brown made his raid on Harper’s Ferry. The story of the reaction of the North and the South toward Brown’s raid and his subsequent execution is too familiar to need repetition. The raid itself frightened the South, since no man could tell how far Brown’s conspiracy extended; but the South had no doubt of its ability to handle that phase of the problem.

What most alarmed and horrified the Southern people was the expression of Northern sentiment toward the criminal; and the extent to which the anti-slavery fanaticism might go was borne in upon Southerners by Emerson’s exclamation that Brown “has made the gallows as glorious as the cross.”

North Carolina, of course, fully shared the sentiments of her sister Southern States. There was a general demand for military preparations; new military companies were organized; and Governor Ellis requested the War Department to send and additional supply of arms to the Federal arsenal at Fayetteville. The political effects were equally as great. The [Raleigh] Standard declared that unless the South could be assured of protection in the Union it would have to “sunder the bonds,” and the Register echoed the sentiment. In December the Council of State resolved that, “If we cannot . . . enjoy repose and tranquility in the Union, we will be constrained, in justice to ourselves and our posterity, to establish new forms . . . [of union].”

Jim Crow Law Origins

 http://quod.lib.umich.edu/a/acls/images/heb90019.0001.001.jpg

Though the author below cites Tennessee’s 1881 legislation as the first of the “Jim Crow” type, New York in 1821 enfranchised all adult white male citizens but kept black men in a politically subordinate caste with a $250 property-holding requirement for voting.  Leading this initiative was future president Martin Van Buren who argued that “democracy only made sense with racial exclusion.”  Van Buren ran for president again in 1848 on the Free Soil party ticket, which desired white racial exclusivity in the western territories.

Jim Crow Law Origins

“The practice of requiring by legislative enactment that Negroes use railroad coaches or compartments separate from this for whites, commonly referred to as “Jim Crow” legislation, did not become general in the South until the closing decade of the nineteenth century.

Earlier, however, in 1881, the legislature of Tennessee enacted a law requiring railroads to provide separate cars or compartments for the use of Negroes.  By this abortive statute – for so it proved to be – Tennessee acquired a somewhat undeserved notoriety, at least in one college textbook, as the originator of “Jim Crow” legislation.

Moreover, the purpose of this law and the circumstances surrounding its enactment were strikingly different from what is generally believed to be the origin of this type of discriminatory legislation.  It is often assumed that prior to the passage of the “Jim Crow” laws no effective racial discrimination existed on railroad trains.

The alleged “Jim Crow” law of 1881 was enacted by a legislature in which one house was controlled by the Republican party and which included four Negro members. Only two Negro members voted against the measure; the other two did not vote.

The bill was signed without hesitation by the first Republican governor of the State elected after the overthrow of the Radical [Republican] regime.  The apparent anomaly of Republican support is explained by the fact that the bill was considered by white [legislature] members to be a concession to Negroes – a consolation prize designed to assuage somewhat the sting caused by the failure of the four Negro legislators to secure the repeal of a more seriously discriminatory statute passed in 1875.

[An 1880 Federal circuit court reviewed the case involving] a Negro woman, alleged to have been a “notorious and public courtesan, addicted to the use of profane language and offensive conduct in public places.” She had been forced to move from the ladies’ car to the smoking car, which was crowded with passengers, mostly immigrants traveling on cheap rates. [The railroad company] based its case on the reputation [of the woman] rather than the color of the plaintiff.

With regard to trains carrying three or more passenger cars it appears that the railroads attempted, at least, to pay lip service to the Tennessee law . . . they usually provided what was called the “colored” first class car, to which Negroes of both sexes with first class tickets were assigned but which was also available for the use of white persons . . . [Though] not exclusively [set aside] for the use of Negroes, they were sometimes referred to as “Jim Crow” cars.

The innovation of the modern “Jim Crow” car was not the result of the Tennessee law of 1881 but of Supreme Court approval of a Mississippi statute of March 2, 1888 [requiring separate but equal facilities].  [The Court held the Mississippi law as constitutional, with Confederate veteran and Justice] John M. Harlan dissenting, on March 3, 1890 . . . [deciding] that the opinion of the Mississippi Supreme Court that the law applied only to intrastate commerce must be accepted as conclusive.  It also held that the law was no more a burden on interstate commerce than requiring certain accommodations at depots or enforcing stops at street crossings.

Syrian war as testing ground for Russia’s latest sea and air weapons

Via Michael via NCR

Like other manufacturers of advanced military weaponry, Russia has sought - and found in the Syrian conflict - a live battleground for testing and exhibiting its latest and most advanced tools of war. The two most sophisticated Russian armaments on full operational display in recent weeks are the Kalibr NK cruise missile and the Sukhoi Su-34 Fullback fighter-bomber.

fox news

It should be clear by now to everyone that FOX News and Roger Ailes hate Donald Trump.

It’s not a secret.

The Beltway pundits and GOP elites go on the channel day after day and bash the GOP front-runner.

If you turn on the channel for more than 15 minutes FOX will air at least one Trump-bashing segment.

FOX News was once considered the “conservative” cable news channel. But that was a farce. FOX News is a channel consumed with Trump hatred. It frequently will hold a discussion segment with two Trump haters, a Democrat and a Republican insider, who both bash Trump.

“Fair and Balanced” is a joke.

I know this is not my usual position. But this is a war. Therefore I have come to believe there should be no immigration or visa waivers until the U.S. adopts a completely new system to stop radical Islamic terrorists from entering the country. A wartime lockdown. And a big change in my thinking. ISIS and related Islamic terrorists are already here. More are coming. We must stop them. Until FBI director James Comey gives us the green light, I say seal the borders.

if you don't meet their specs in the matter of them stealing them, they want you in a camp.  Or dead (get the feeling they'd prefer dead).

It ALWAYS comes down to camps and death squads with these people, doesn't it?
