 ATF

ATF’s June 2016 Explosives Industry Newsletter included a
brief discussion of Nitrocellulose, and attempted to clarify the circumstances under which wetted Nitrocellulose is considered a high explosive under 27 CFR, Part 555.

As with all explosives, ATF’s focus is on the potential public safety risks associated with materials that can be misused or diverted to unlawful purposes. Subsequent contact from industry members who import, transport, store or employ wetted Nitrocellulose in the production of ammunition, however, has brought to our attention issues that were not fully addressed in the Newsletter and require further consultation and consideration with the industry.

Accordingly, ATF has and will conduct further industry outreach concerning wetted Nitrocellulose. In the interim, previously authorized industry practices concerning wetted Nitrocellulose will not be affected.

  1. Great! As if I don't have enough to stock up on. Now I can add this to the list.

  2. Translation: "We planned to make the transport of Nitrocellulose SO EXPENSIVE by imposing an insane
level of regulation that the cost of producing ammunition
would become so prohibitively expensive only the very
rich, i.e. the government, can afford it."

In essence this was yet ANOTHER backdoor attempt at gun control by BATFEces and yet again they have been caught.

Don't expect this to go away. The disarmament agenda of
those in power is still intact and still being pushed. They
will merely try again in some other fashion.

They can't find a way to disarm us via the legislative process so they are fully intent on doing so via the
backdoor of bureaucratic edict. And as in this case they
do so without even inviting comment.

I suspect the ONLY reason they have backed down....for now...
is the upcoming election. The big muckymucks at BATFEces are
probably leery of what Trump will do to them if he wins and they have pulled this little escapede right before the election. If Clinton wins expect them to move forward at full speed.
