The Virginia Flaggers: A Happy Saturday Story

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizxnsl4BqDx5ASc4UOa5k0-2WvGQfHq92dHQiMZ2i1O6bPmstnG04gEw4RGtfAprdzZ0Ys_P7tX2BQ4OwA4G0EpGAzLT9KkOzHlF9Yhlkhn8ri6N5MibiNi5ZFhK-3BXLump6foaGO-31G/s1600/13315295_542397209218902_8780872967698860254_n.JPG

Four years and seven months after we began flagging the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), the Va Flaggers are still on the front lines twice every week, protesting the forced removal of Confederate flags from the portico of the Confederate Memorial Chapel, forwarding the colors, and changing hearts and minds. It has been a while since we brought you an update, and we thought we would share a story from this past Saturday.

The Battle in Virginia Over the Constitution (Just wonderful)

 Patrick Henry

This essay is reprinted in honor of Patrick Henry’s birthday, May 29, from Moses Coit Tyler’s Patrick Henry.

The great convention at Philadelphia, after a session of four months, came to the end of its noble labors on the 17th of September, 1787. Washington, who had been not merely its presiding officer but its presiding genius, then hastened back to Mt. Vernon, and, in his great anxiety to win over to the new Constitution the support of his old friend Patrick Henry, he immediately dispatched to him a copy of that instrument, accompanied by a very impressive and conciliatory letter, to which, about three weeks afterwards, was returned the following reply: —
Richmond, October 19,1787.
Dear Sir, — I was honored by the receipt of your favor, together with a copy of the proposed federal Constitution, a few days ago, for which I beg you to accept my thanks. They are also due to you from me as a citizen, on account of the great fatigue necessarily attending the arduous business of the late convention.
I have to lament that I cannot bring my mind to accord with the proposed Constitution. The concern I feel on this account is really greater than I am able to express. Perhaps mature reflections may furnish me with reasons to change my present sentiments into a conformity with the opinions of those personages for whom I have the highest reverence. Be that as it may, I beg you will be persuaded of the unalterable regard and attachment with which I shall be,
Dear Sir, your obliged and very humble servant,
P. HENRY.

‘Cuckservative’ Is a Gloriously Effective Insult That Should Not Be Slurred, Demonised, or Ridiculed (Dated)

Well! What a lot of drama in the conservative blogosphere over an apparently trivial diss: the word “cuckservative.” I’m going to lose some friends and admirers with what follows, but who cares. Let me explain to you what you should think about this ridiculous internecine quarrel.

The drama started on July 22, when Rush Limbaugh referred to critics of Donald Trump as “cuckolded Republicans.” A day later, Red State’s Erick Erickson said the term was “coined by white supremacists” as a “slur against Christian voters.” This was echoed by a Daily Caller columnist, and then reported on in the liberal New Republic. By then, the internet was on fire with allegations that “cuckservative” was a racist term.

As a helpful right-wing blogger recently noted, I have “literally taken black dicks in the ass.” So, as the leading conservative authority on interracial intercourse, I therefore feel compelled to set the record straight on the so-called racial origin and dimensions of this insult.

Here’s my verdict: all the writers above are wrong. As someone who’s been covering web culture and online memes for years and who has a great deal of respect for how well many right-wingers have taken to internet culture, I’m slightly embarrassed by my fellow conservatives’ inability to understand a term that returned to popular use not on white power websites, but on 4chan.

SHERMAN’S LEGACY…

Via John

In “Citizen Sherman” Michael Fellman describes how Sherman's chief engineer, Captain O.M. Poe, advised that the bombing of Atlanta was of no military significance (the Confederates had already abandoned the city) and implored Sherman to stop the bombardment after viewing the carcasses of dead women and children in the streets. Sherman coldly told him the dead bodies were "a beautiful sight" and commenced the destruction of 90 percent of all the buildings in Atlanta. After that, the remaining 2,000 residents were evicted from their homes just as winter was approaching.

On September 12, 1864, General John B Hood wrote a letter to General Sherman condemning him for his wanton shelling of Atlanta:

“There are a hundred thousand witnesses that you fired into the habitations of women and children for weeks, firing far above and miles beyond my line of defense. I have too good an opinion, founded both upon observation and experience, of the skill of your artillerists, to credit the insinuation that they for several weeks unintentionally fired too high for my modest field-works, and slaughtered women and children by accident and want of skill.”

Clinton Gave Speech on Income Inequality Wearing a $12,495 Dollar Armani Jacket

 Via Billy
Hillary Armani

Hillary Clinton’s New York primary victory speech in April focused on topics including income inequality, job creation and helping people secure their retirement. It was a clear attempt to position herself as an everywoman.

But an everywoman she is not — she gave the speech in a $12,495 Giorgio Armani tweed jacket.
The polished outfit was a stark contrast to the fashion choices Clinton has made in the past. As first lady, Clinton wore frumpy pastel skirtsuits. As New York senator and secretary of state, she attempted a more serious look, wearing pantsuits in a rainbow of colors — so mocked that they sparked memes. In comparison to Michelle Obama, who’s become known as a style icon during her time in the White House and appeared on the cover of Vogue twice, Clinton has never been able to nail down a personal aesthetic that works for her.

But now, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, whose dowdy and matronly style has haunted her throughout her entire political career, is making her first real effort to play the fashion card. She’s upgraded the designers she wears, opting for high-end European labels, and hired a team of image experts that includes former Michelle Obama aide Kristina Schake, who’s been tasked with shaping her style and making her more relatable. She’s even rumored to have “Veep” makeup artist Barbara Lacy on the payroll.

Barbeau Qued in Seattle The Arrest of Schuyler Barbeau – Part II In Schuyler’s Own Words

http://outpost-of-freedom.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Schuyler-Barbeau.jpg

Schuyler Barbeau was arrested in a setup, participated in by his best friend, Oliver Murphy, on December 6, 2015. Until just a few days ago, what happened to Schuyler was unknown, except that he ended up in jail. The only story that could be told, at that time, was from Allen Aenk, who was present in the car when the minions of government, in complete battle dress, descended on the two of them. What Allen Aenk was able to observe is described in The Arrest of Schuyler Barbeau.

Schuyler has now come forward with his description of the events of that day, including a transcription of the interrogation that was conducted prior to him being finally settled in the King County Jail.

The following account is transcribed from a handwritten report by Schuyler. The interrogation dialogue was copied from a copy provide to Schuyler by the government, as part of Discovery. That transcript was redacted with “XXXXX” in place of a name. However, the name is placed, in context, as the informant working with the FBI is known as a result of our previous investigation, and is used in place of the “XXXXX”.  Schuyler’s comments with regard to the interrogation dialogue are
 included (in parenthesis).

Allen and I were pulling off Highway 18 where it intersects Interstate 90 to enter the non-operational weigh-station.  As we rolled through the long parking lot, I spotted my best friend, Oliver Murphy’s, Ford Explorer, sitting by the small weigh-station building.  The hood was up as Oliver had told me that the car was overheating.  Now, the purpose of my meeting him was to pick up cash for a sale he did for me.  As we approached, I said aloud, “Well, there is his SUV, but I don’t see him.”  We parked next to the Explorer and as we did, I took notice of the stickers all over the rear and window, confirming in my mind that this was in fact the right vehicle, because I recognized the stickers, even the pro-2nd Amendment one.

I stepped out of the car, grabbed the dog’s [Note: a dog that had just been picked up by TeamRescue for training – opf] leash and waited for it to climb out of the backseat into the front seat and then out of the car.  Just then, as she jumped out, I heard a whole bunch of shouting to my 11 o’clock position.  I looked up and over the top of the hood of the Explorer (which they closed as they came around) and saw the military (it actually turned out just to be the FBI) come pouring out of the building and around the Explorer with their pistols and M4s pointed at my face.  Now, there was no difference in dress and appearance between these guys (FBI) and some Delta Force operators from the Army.  About 15 to 20 agents total.  They had their multi-cam clothing, full kit, plate carrier, body armor, and helmets, along with other gear.  “Operators” are carrying, and using all their high-speed weapons.  This overwhelming display of “tactic-cool” is a true testament of the militarization of law enforcement.

The latest skirmish surrounding the phoneyed up class action suit against Donald Trump has brought out the hypocrites in full force.

Trump's questioning the impartiality of the Hispanic Judge presiding over the case is certainly reasonable given the circumstances.

1. Both the judge's parents were born in Mexico.

2. Controlling ILLEGAL immigration is, like it or not the leading issue in this year's contest.
3. The Judge is a member of and linked to La Raza organization.

4. The law firm representing the plaintiffs is linked to the same organization.

5. One of the members of the firm was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison for driving up phony class action suits.

6. This same firm has funneled some $650,000 into the Clinton slush fund via paid speeches.

7. Judge Curiel is an Obama appointee, like Justice Sotomayor who has openlystated that ethnicity “may and will make a difference in our judging.”

On The Murder By Fire Of The 19 Yezidi girls

Comment by Bill Bellamy on ISIS burns 19 Yezidi girls to death in Mosul for n..

 http://dckurd.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/47965109.cached.jpg
Commentator Dennis Pager made two observations that I think are self-evident Truths; "Those who appease evil, hate those who confront it," and "It is easier to feel good, than to actually do good." (quoted as best as I can recall).

19 Yezidi young women were burned to death for refusing to have sex with some one to whom they were not married to. Where are all those proud feminists who demand equal rights for women? Death for refusing to engage in sex, sound very sexist to me. Yet there is no shortage of You Tube videos shouting by feminists finding sexism every where. Seemingly every thing is sexist to them. They go out of their way to be offended by some thing. They like the bed room posting SJWs yap and whine on and on about the evils of not respecting other misfits sense of "gender identity", of giving offense by failing to use the proper invented tumbler gender pronoun. The rest of sane people are supposed be as concerned as they are with things being problematic, intersectional, safe spaces and micro-aggressions.

There is plenty of outrage and attention given to the death of a zoo animal. Yet nothing from them when it comes to 19 Yezidi girls being burned to death. In a cage. In public. This is terrorism. By their silence, the feminists and the SJWs have shown their cowardice and hypocrisy.

Meanwhile, my prayers to those young women, and their families. I do wish there was a fund for supplying the Yazidis with the tools they need (aka guns and ammo). Islam is evil and I will hate every thing about it forever. Death to Islam and all tyrants. Brock, I can not express the rage I feel. 19 Yazidi woman burned to death, by evil vermin. Who is going to speak out and taken action for them and all the other Yazidis?

19 Yazidi women burned to death and nobody gives a damn about them. Yeah, I know, to say some thing would be "Islamaphobic" and offensive to Muslims. Disgusting!

The Donald & The La Raza Judge & Stick-A-Fork-In-Him Cruz Attacks Trump

Before the lynching of The Donald proceeds, what exactly was it he said about that Hispanic judge?

Stated succinctly, Donald Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over a class-action suit against Trump University, is sticking it to him. And the judge's bias is likely rooted in the fact that he is of Mexican descent.

Can there be any defense of a statement so horrific?

Just this. First, Trump has a perfect right to be angry about the judge's rulings and to question his motives. Second, there are grounds for believing Trump is right.

GA city demands homeowner remove Confederate display from yard

Via Terry

civilwarpresentation

Lafayette’s Kevin Smith spent three years building a Civil War display in the front yard of his North Georgia home, a homage complete with life-sized mannequins set up to depict different battles fought locally.

It’s history and it’s heritage and it’s not hate,” Smith told WRCB. “A presentation. Because I’ve tried to put the display around town so our tourists can see the history and draw tourism down here.”

But the city’s Housing Authority served Smith with a notice Thursday that contends officials received complaints and requests that Smith call the office.

“I have had complaints about the mannequins and Confederate flag. Sorry but they have to go,” the notice read.

It did not detail who made the alleged complaints or cite any specific safety or code violations.
Regardless, Smith said he doesn’t plan on removing the display he’s worked so hard to perfect.

Propaganda Bill In Congress Could Give America Its Very Own Ministry Of "Truth"

Via sauced07

http://i1.wp.com/disinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1984.jpg?resize=777%2C400

In the true Orwellian fashion now typifying 2016, a bill to implement the U.S.’ very own de facto Ministry of Truth has been quietly introduced in Congress - its lack of fanfare appropriate given the bill’s equally subtle language. As with any legislation attempting to dodge the public spotlight, however, the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act of 2016 marks a further curtailment of press freedom and another avenue to stultify avenues of accurate information.

Introduced by Congressmen Adam Kinzinger and Ted Lieu, H.R. 5181 seeks a whole-government approach without the bureaucratic restrictions” to counter “foreign disinformation and manipulation,” which they believe threaten the world’s “security and stability.”

Jefferson Davis: One of the most remarkable men in the annals of American history.

Jefferson_Davis

Rosemont Plantation, the childhood home of Jefferson Davis, is nestled in the gently rolling hills of southwest Mississippi. Carefully restored, the Davis family home is shaded by moss-hung oaks and catalpa trees, surrounded by lush vegetation and warmed by newly-greened memories of the past. It is the last place on earth one would expect to collide with one of those anti-Davis myths, born of Yankee fury and hatred, still restlessly and unaccountably alive.

In the company of two friends, I visited Rosemont on a May afternoon so adorned by a fresh breeze and an obliging blue sky that it could have been gift-wrapped.

We were welcomed at the door of the two-story wooden home into the early 19th century by a Rosemont guide, a cheerful woman in period costume. Well-trained for her role, she showed us through the house, distinguishing with nice attention to historical detail between those items of furniture that were Davis-owned and those that were period pieces of another origin.
