Flashback: Chuck Schumer Meets with Putin in New York City

Via comment  by Anonymous on  AG Sessions Recuses Himself from Crackpot Conspira...

Where’s the outrage?

Democrat Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer continues to push the Russia conspiracy.

But it was Schumer who met with Putin in New York City – not Trump.

The picture above was taken in 2003 as Russian President Vladimir Putin, right, enjoys a Krispy Kreme doughnut and coffee with Senator Charles Schumer from New York as Putin visits the first New York gas station of the Russian company Lukoil.
The hysteria over Trump administration officials talking — or not talking — with Russia needs to end.
It’s getting in the way of putting America back on track.

Soros-Backed Group Organizes Massive Coal Blockade In Ukraine

As we have mentioned here throughout the beginning of this year, Ukraine has been (and continues to be) a major “flash point” that holds dire consequences for a Europe already in tatters.

Ukraine is also a major spot of contention between Russia and the United States.  To recap, presently we have a President intent on a new era of relations between Vladimir Putin and his government.

The problem lies in what the U.S. has done in the past five year under the Obama-directed State Department (courtesy of Victoria Nuland).  That State Department was aided and abetted by none other than Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

As mentioned in other articles, the situation in the Eastern Ukrainian provinces is serious.  Although the Minsk accords provided for an official ceasefire between the Kiev government under President Petro Poroshenko and the separatist militias in the Donbass region, the former has been clearly guilty of violating it repeatedly.  These violations have taken the form of prohibited armored vehicles and artillery barrages in numerous cities.

At the very beginning of the U.S.-sponsored coup d’état that ousted legally-elected President Viktor Yanukovych and sent him fleeing to Russia, the Maidan movement (comprised of Ukrainian ultra-nationalists) began protests and riots that led to fighting.  Maidan was (and is) being both encouraged and supported financially by none other than George Soros.  The intent for Ukraine with Soros is no different: to crush the opposition of separatists and enable the U.S.-installed government to rail Ukraine into NATO and the IMF.

New England Against America

The Fiction of Mr. Simms gave indication, we repeat, of genius, and that of no common order. Had he been even a Yankee, this genius would have been rendered immediately manifest to his countrymen, but unhappily (perhaps) he was a Southerner His book, therefore, depended entirely upon its own intrinsic value and resources, but with these it made its way in the end.— EDGAR ALLAN POE
A review of Long Years of Neglect: The Work and Reputation of William Gilmore Simms, edited by John Caldwell Guilds. Fayetteville: University of Arkansas Press. 1988, 248 pages.

In the heroic effort to establish an American literature, intellect, and culture before the Civil War, the main line of tension was not between cosmopolitans and provincials, nor between classicists and romanticists. It was regional. But the primary regional dividing line was not drawn, as you may think, along the Appalachians (East vs. West), nor along the Potomac (North vs. South). Rather, it was at the Hudson River (New England vs. America).

Total War Comes to France

 https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51s2-99c7TL._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

Otto von Bismarck saw Lincoln’s war as one of unification and centralization, as he had accomplished with the German states; Bismarck also promoted the purchase of US government bonds to support Lincoln’s war. In 1870, the Northern general who visited total war on the Shenandoah Valley and its people was an official observer of Bismarck’s war on France, and undoubtedly influenced the war against civilians. The “francs-tireurs” noted below were French partisans who were shot if caught.
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com   The Great American Political Divide

Total War Comes to France

“Moreover as the war dragged on into the winter and fancs-tireur activity grew, the Germans learned an ever-deeper hatred of the nation which was in their eyes prolonging the struggle so uselessly, and by such underhand means. “The War,” wrote a German officer campaigning on the Loire in November, “is gradually acquiring a hideous character. Murder and burning is now the order of the day on both sides, and one cannot beg Almighty God finally to make an end to it.”

“We are learning to hate them more every day, wrote another, a sane and civilized man who watched with horror the deterioration which bitterness and brutality were working among his troops. “I can assure you that it is also in the interests of the civilization of our own people that such a racial struggle should be brought to an end. Atrocious attacks are avenged by atrocities which remind one of the Thirty Years’ War.”

The discipline which during the summer had forced the German troops to respect civilian property was gradually relaxed.

“At first we were forbidden with the severest penalties, to burn vine-posts in bivouacs, and woe to him who used unthreshed corn for his palliasse. Child-like innocence! Now no one asks whether you are using garden fences . . . no Frenchman can any longer lay claim to property or means of livelihood.”

Thus throughout the autumn and winter of 1870 the terrorism of the francs-tireurs and the reprisals of the Germans spiraled down to new depths of savagery. If the French refused to admit military defeat, then other means must be found to break their will.

The same problem had confronted the United States in dealing with the Confederacy six years earlier, and Sherman had solved it by his relentless march through the South. [General Helmuth von] Moltke had believed war to consist in the movement of armies; but General Sheridan, who was observing the war from German headquarters, pointed out that this was only the first requirement of victory. [He stated:]

“The proper strategy [he declared after Sedan] consists in inflicting as telling blows as possible on the enemy’s army, then in causing the inhabitants so much suffering that they must long for peace, and force the government to demand it. The people must be left nothing but their eyes to weep with over the war.”

Bismarck took this advice more seriously than did Moltke. The more Frenchmen who suffered from the war, he pointed out, the greater would be the number who would long for peace at any price. “It will come to this, that we will have shoot down every male inhabitant.” Every village, he demanded, in which an act of treachery had been committed, should be burned to the ground and all male inhabitants hanged. To show mercy was “culpable laziness in killing.”

Glock to Army on SIG MHS Contract: Not So Fast

Glock is protesting the military’s decision to replace its current sidearm with the relatively new SIG P320-based XM17. The military selected the SIG design to replace the aging Beretta M9 series pistols in service late last year.

The protest, filed with the U.S. Government Accountability Office, needs a response from the U.S. Army Materiel Command by June 5th of 2017.

Until the Army responds to the protest the switch from Beretta pistols to SIG pistols will not move forward. Time will tell if this is a business formality or if it will alter the course of the Army’s hunt for their next sidearm.

Oh, Don Lemon. July 2016 wasn't that long ago.

Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch did not recuse herself last year from the federal investigation of Hillary Clinton's private email server. Lynch also did not meet with Hillary Clinton on a tarmac as federal agents reviewed the former secretary of state's emails.

Watching CNN Wednesday evening, however, you'd think exactly the opposite.

"Loretta Lynch recused herself from any decision regarding Hillary Clinton because of that meeting of Hillary Clinton and Loretta Lynch, who was attorney general at the time, on the tarmac," Lemon said during a panel discussion.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans’ North Carolina Division will conduct its 29th annual Confederate Flag Day on Saturday at the historic state Capitol building.

Paul C. Graham of South Carolina will be the featured speaker and will deliver a presentation titled “Honoring Our Fathers.”

Graham holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in philosophy from the University of South Carolina. A philosophy instructor, he has partnered with Clyde Wilson in founding and operating The Shotwell Press, which the Sons of Confederate Veterans describe as “a leading publishing house for books defending the South.”

Graham has written articles and reviews for numerous publications, including The Simms Review, The Palmetto Partisan and The Abbeville Institute.

Ceremonies will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday in the historic House of Representatives chamber in the Capitol building. A color guard will escort the flags to the well of the House — the same chamber where North Carolina adopted its ordinance of secession in May 1861. Ellis Selph and his band will provide period and patriotic music.

Organizers say the event will prove to be “inspiring and educational.” All members of the general public are invited to attend.

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis is hopping mad about media reports disputing his assessment that the U.S. special operations raid in Yemen last month yielded "vital intelligence."

Aides say Mattis is particularly upset about an NBC News report suggesting that so far none of the intelligence gathered in the raid, which cost the life of Navy SEAL William "Ryan" Owens, has proven to be either "actionable or vital."

"That is inaccurate," said a senior Pentagon official, who said while much of the intelligence is still being exploited, the cache of seized computers, cell phones, and hard drive has already produced leads as to where other al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula terrorists were located in Yemen, and their contacts.

‘American Sniper’ widow Taya Kyle slams Michael Moore’s comments: ‘It makes me sick to my stomach’

Fox News contributor Taya Kyle, the widow of “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle, said Michael Moore’s criticism of President Trump’s moving tribute to Carryn Owens made her sick to her stomach.

Ms. Kyle responded to Mr. Moore’s comments Wednesday on Fox News’ “The First 100 Days” with Martha MacCallum. The host played a clip of the liberal filmmaker railing against the president for a particularly powerful moment during his first joint address to Congress, in which he recognized the widow of fallen Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens.

Mr. Moore accused the president of “using” Ms. Owens as a political prop.

“This poor woman, this widow who has lost her husband, she is in desperate grief right now,” Mr. Moore said Tuesday night on MSNBC. “And to use that to put another notch on his belt … I mean, this is the sickness of this man.”

The White House is pushing for significant cuts to EPA programs and staff levels, giving a glimpse of how the Trump administration plans on devolving more control to the states.

The budget plan sent from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to EPA leadership calls for eliminating dozens of programs, including at least 16 that have to do with global warming and implementing former President Barack Obama’s climate agenda.

Barack Obama's close confidante Valerie Jarrett has moved into his new DC home, which is now the nerve center for their plan to mastermind the insurgency against President Trump

Barack Obama is turning his new home in the posh Kalorama section of the nation's capital - just two miles away from the White House - into the nerve center of the mounting insurgency against his successor, President Donald J. Trump.

Obama's goal, according to a close family friend, is to oust Trump from the presidency either by forcing his resignation or through his impeachment.

And Obama is being aided in his political crusade by his longtime consigliere, Valerie Jarrett, who has moved into the 8,200-square-foot, $5.3-million Kaloroma mansion with  the former president and Michelle Obama, long time best friends.

Jarrett played a vital - if at times low-key - role in the Obama presidency. She lived in the White House, dined with the Obamas, and help shape his domestic and foreign policies.

Political Witch Hunt: France's Marine Le Pen loses EU immunity over IS tweets

Via Billy

French far-right leader Marine Le Pen photographed in the European Parliament in Strasbourg

Far-right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen was stripped of her European Parliament immunity Thursday after she tweeted images of Islamic State atrocities, paving the way for her prosecution by French authorities.

Prosecutors launched a probe in December, 2015 over the graphic pictures that the French National Front (FN) leader posted on social media, which included the decapitated body of US journalist James Foley.

"The result is clear, a big majority is in favour of the lifting of immunity," acting parliament speaker Dimitrios Papadimoulis said, after lawmakers in Brussels voted by a show of hands.

The ruling is effective immediately for Le Pen, a National Front MEP, European Parliament officials told AFP.
