Yankee Finance Capitalism Part II: The Jeffersonian Triumph

“The revenue of the state is the state.” Edmund Burke

The rise of the modern nation state in the 1600s was founded upon monarchies securing independent sources of revenue to pay for the royal armies that secured their dynasties.  Jacques Colbert, Louis XIV’s minister of finance, designed a system of state monopolies, internal free trade districts, tariffs and internal taxes to support the wars of his sovereign.  Later in the eighteenth century, the French and Indian War resulted in a British victory in large part due to the rise of deficit spending (and the national debt which makes it possible) which funded the British war machine in this first of global wars.  Crucial to any scheme of deficit spending is the development of a symbiotic relationship between the financiers who purchase government debt and the state which comes to depend upon the funds of these financiers.  In Great Britain, the lender of last resort to the government was the Bank of England, so if British bonds could not catch a bid in the loanable funds market, the Bank of England could come to the rescue.

Local prosecutors in Marion County, Indiana, charged 12 employees of a Democratic-linked voter recruitment organization of submitting fraudulent voter registration applications prior to the 2016 election.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutors say that 11 temporary canvassers working for the Indiana Voter Registration Project made and sent in an unknown number of fake voter applications. The canvassers’ supervisor, Holiday Burke, was charged as well.

The organization, the AP reported, is managed by Patriot Majority USA  a group with strong ties to Democratic Party, including former President Bill Clinton and former Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, as well as labor unions.

Trump Sees President Hillary Cover, Instantly Grabs Sharpie…

As our readers will no doubt recall, there was a veritable certainty among the mainstream media and the polls that Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 election. With that certainty in mind, a third-party company named Topix Media shipped out Newsweek magazines declaring Clinton as president prior to the election, while the Donald Trump magazine covers were still being produced.

According to NBC, the covers that had been shipped prior to the election were recalled once it was clear Trump was going to win, but not before some of the Clinton “Madam President” magazines had already been sold.

Many of those recalled special editions that were never recovered ended up appearing for sale online, with prices varying from as little as $.99 to as much as $9,995 for a magazine that normally would cost $10.99.

Former AG Mukasey: Egregious Loretta Lynch Directive to Comey Made DOJ Arm of Hillary Campaign

Michael Mukasey: What makes it egregious is the fact, and I think it’s obvious that it is a fact, that the Attorney General of the United States was adjusting the way the department talked about its business so as to coincide as to the way the Clinton Campaign talked about that business. In other words it made the Department of Justice essentially an arm of the Clinton Campaign. That is really a betrayal of the department and its independence. Clearly the Attorney General was clearly in the tank for Secretary Hillary Clinton.

Mr. Comey himself has encouraged you to release them," wrote Grassley, along with ranking member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Crime and Terrorism Subcommittee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.; and ranking member Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I.

We recently learned that one of the government leakers who has released information meant to hurt President Trump is 25-year-old Reality Winner.

Winner is not only a vocal Bernie supporter but she also has voiced some troubling opinions about Trump.

Which begs the question why she was allowed near sensitive information in the first place.

Winner is now facing some serious jail time for the crime she committed.

Apparently, Winner was denied bail and that decision was partially based on some comments she has made to her family.

In the digital age, surveillance and reconnaissance functions are usually performed without direct “eyes on” contact.  Miniaturization of cameras and recording devices, combined with wireless transmission of digital signals, allow any of us to be observed and recorded with ease, usually without our knowledge or consent.  Many of us are, in fact, greatly concerned about the degree to which government agencies utilize this technology to collect data on the individual citizen in direct violation of our Fourth Amendment right to privacy.

The complexity and definition of digital technology for military purposes far exceeds that available to private individuals.  The use of high resolution cameras in satellites, drones, and small implantable devices and the ability to share the data in secure networks allows for the collection of essential information without endangering human personnel.  The ultimate safety is the use of this sensory input by operators in our country to guide drone attacks in war arenas on another continent.

Over the course of military history, all military commanders have recognized the necessity of obtaining information about the enemy to achieve victory in battle.

The streets in Washington, D.C. were abuzz with excitement in the hours before former FBI Director James Comey walked into the Senate Intelligence Committee's hearing room at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Even though it was way too early for a drink — and a school day to boot — young politicos across the city lined up to pack into trendy nightspots to knock back a few and enjoy The Jim Comey Show.

It turned funereal fast.
