Mueller faces ‘unique hurdles’ if he wants to press obstruction case against Trump

Special counsel Robert Mueller could have a tough time making an obstruction of justice case stick against President Trump, according to legal analysts, who said he will have to overcome a number of “unique hurdles” — not the least of which is a decades-old Justice Department ruling that a sitting president can’t be charged.
Analysts say it will be up to Mr. Mueller to decide whether to accept the long-standing opinion of the Office of Legal Counsel, which ruled in 1973 and again in 2000 that a president has immunity from criminal prosecution.
It’s also not clear that FBI investigations count as “proceedings” that could be obstructed under one of the legal statutes that might be cited in an obstruction case, according to a legal memo prepared last month by the Congressional Research Service.
“Courts have not reached consensus on whether an FBI investigation meets this standard,” the report says of 18 U.S.C. 1505, which applies generally to obstruction of administrative proceedings.

So much for defanging the poisonous debate in Washington.
Dozens of congressional staffers erupted into boos, jeers and even vulgar gesticulations Thursday when President Trump appeared in a video at the Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park.
Mr. Trump delivered a message of unity, but some fans in the stands weren’t having any of it.
One man shouted an expletive at the video screen as Mr. Trump was telling the fans: “We are showing the world we will not be intimidated by threats.”
The episode marred what had been a night celebrating those wounded in Wednesday’s murderous attack on GOP players practicing for the game.
When both teams went to second base — the symbolic spot where Rep. Steve Scalise was wounded in the attack at the Alexandria practice field — to kneel and pray, some mocked the prayer too. The fans appeared to be Democratic staffers, having booed the announcement of several members of the GOP lineup.

A group of voters was recently assembled in Ohio following the testimony of James Comey. The nine citizens were asked by CNN National Correspondent Gary Tuchman to respond to several questions, and the result was definitely not what the cable network had planned.
“First thing I want to ask you: It is a crime when you testify before Congress to lie,” Tuchman stated in a clear attempt to “prep” the panel. “That is perjury. You can go to prison for it.”

Anyone who has been paying attention has heard many times the assertion that the flag of the Southern Confederacy is equivalent to the banner of the Nazi German Reich. That this idea should gain any credit at all is a sign of how debased American public discourse has become by ignorance, deceit, and hatred.
To make an obvious point: The Confederacy fought a defensive war against invasion. It had no design to rule others or exploit their resources—only wished to be let alone. Nazi Germany was a militarist state, dedicated to a boastful, bullying, brutal conquest of other peoples. Rather like the U.S. Army in 1861—1865.

Trumps' 47% is slightly but not significantly higher than the 46% of votes he received in November, showing his support remains strong with those who voted for him then.

Horst Wessel Is Reborn From The Womb Of Violent Rhetoric.
Since we'll before November's election the rhetoric coming from the left has been laced with words of violent connotation. With Hillary's humiliation at the polls the connotations have become implications and justifications that have now become escalations from assaults with fists and baseball bats to the use of firearms with murderous intent.
Yesterday's shooting did not occur in a vacuum. From Kathy Griffin's stunningly callous photo shoot to the completely unveiled call for the assassination of the President in New York's Theater in the Park presentation, the provocation curve has moved into the near vertical. What did they think was going to happen?
I have not the slightest doubt that an exploration of the internet history of yesterday's would be assassin will reveal his having visited numerous sites displaying the most overt calls to bloody violence. How then are Hodgkinson's actions any different from that of some domestic Jihadist, radicalized by the internet or his local Imam? It is the simplest and most obvious of parallels but don't expect the MSM or any Democrat to acknowledge its clearly exists.

Oncoming Racial Doom: The Clash of Cultures
I have lived in China, Thailand, Mexico, Cambodia, and Vietnam, and have traveled in some fifty other countries. All shared what might be called the core values of civilization. Blacks seem not to. Yes, many exceptions, varied degrees, but as a culture, they were, are, different. Would that it were not true, but it is.
Curiously, what made me give up all interest in the problems of blacks was not their virulent racism, the horrendous rates of crime, or the parasitism. Instead it was the assaults by blacks and their fellow travelers on Confederate monuments, particularly in New Orleans. Similarly, the banning of the Confederate battle flag at Gettysburg, for God’s sake. For reasons doubtless opaque to the historically ignorant, this annoys me. Why should the least productive, most criminal, most dependent of the population rewrite history that in any event they don’t know? The erasure of the South and the Confederacy by people most of whom couldn’t spell it, of Washington and Jefferson and Lee by grifters, race hustlers, wanton illiterates and the Brownshirts of Black Lives Matter…enough.

Nathan Bedford Forrest, as well as the graves of Forrest and his wife, removed from the city park. In Richmond, Virginia, there have been calls for the removal of the Monument Avenue statues of Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Gens. Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and J.E.B. Stuart. It’s not only Confederate statues that have come under attack. Just by having the name of a Confederate, such as J.E.B. Stuart High School in Falls Church, Virginia, brings up calls for a name change.
