Good Interview: Performer At Las Vegas Harvest Festival Speaks Out Against Gun Control: “All of us in that moment wished we’d had a gun."
Via Billy
As bullets rained down on the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, many of those taking cover wished they had the means to fight back, singer Kaya Jones told Breitbart.
The former Pussycat Dolls member performed at the festival and was at a nearby bar as the tragedy began to unfold.
“All of us in that moment wished we’d had a gun,” Jones said, relaying that in a group taking refuge, only one person was armed.

The Winds of Change
This isn’t 1990. The Winds of Change have stopped blowing. When the Soviets present a more docile response to self determination than a “western democracy,” the situation is bad. How painful is it to pine for the days of passive Soviet resistance to secession?
Images and videos of the jack-booted thugs bulldozing their way through crowds of peaceful voters (including firemen and unarmed police officers) in Catalonia are a distressing reminder that the heavy hand of the state is still alive and well when it comes to self-determination.
Spain went full Lincoln, quickly. At least the people of the Southern States held conventions and voted before being bludgeoned and shot.

Unbelievable: MASSACHUSETTS TO REMOVE CONFEDERATE MONUMENT LISTING NAMES OF CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS WHO DIED WHILE IN POW CAMP.
Via Jonathan " HOW MUCH MORE DESPICABLE CAN MASSACHUSETTS BECOME? "
Massachusetts’ only Confederate memorial will be taken down in the near future, officials confirmed Tuesday.
The stone monument on Georges Island bears the name of 13 Confederate soldiers who died while imprisoned at Fort Warren during the Civil War. The headstone has been encased in a wooden box for several months, while the state decided what to do with it.

Why the European establishment hates the Second Amendment
The European political establishment hates the Second Amendment for its ultimate repudiation of big government.
To understand the European viewpoint, consider the debate on Britain's Sky News channel, Tuesday evening, between liberal columnist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and libertarian editor Brendan O'Neill.
As O'Neill calmly outlined why gun ownership represents positive individual freedom, Alibhai-Brown quickly lost her cool, "That is not a moral position!" she shouted, adding that the Second Amendment was designed for a time "When [Americans] were massacring Native Americans ... hundreds of thousands of people were being killed." The journalist, who was "really depressed" when Bin Laden was killed, then delivered her punch line, "Change your mind, you'll still be a man."
Sorry, Yasmin, but 19th century Native American history is more complicated than genocide, and penis size has nothing to do with gun ownership. (Indeed, that's an insult to the tens of thousands of British vacationers who see gun ranges as required stops!)

Arpaio’s Pardon From Trump to Stand After Court Challenge
Former Maricopa County, Ariz sheriff Joe Arpaio's pardon from President Donald Trump will stand Tuesday after a brief challenge in court.
The challenge was declined by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton, the same judge who had initially found Arpaio guilty of contempt of court, the Associated Press reports. Much of Bolton's 14 page ruling on Wednesday was focused on why she found Arpaio guilty in the first place.
Arpaio was pardoned in August by Trump for his federal conviction for ignoring a judge's order to halt a controversial program aimed at curbing illegal immigration. Arpaio was a strong supporter of Trump's 2016 campaign, and was known as the "toughest sheriff in America."
"I have concluded the pardon is valid," Bolton wrote.

Judge rules in favor of groups trying to keep Charlottesville's Robert E. Lee statue where it is
Via Susan
A judge in Charlottesville ruled Wednesday that a state law protecting war memorials could apply retroactively to the city’s statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, according to the Richmond Times Dispatch.
But Judge Richard Moore said he wanted more proof that the statue qualifies as a war memorial, the newspaper reported. His decision clears the way for a lawsuit asking to bar the statue’s removal, and the groups suing now have 21 days to present a stronger case.

House committee approves $10 billion to fund border wall
Via Billy
The House Homeland Security Committee passed legislation Wednesday that would provide $10 billion toward President Trump's wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, a step toward possible consideration on the House floor.
The committee passed Wednesday afternoon in a party-line vote, after dismissing all Democratic amendments.
The committee vote is a significant step toward implementing President Trump's goal of building a border wall, which otherwise has been stalled. Trump himself agreed to delay money for the wall last month in order to quickly resolve a fight over raising the debt ceiling and extending federal spending for the first few months of the new fiscal year.

We Can Finally Identify One of the Largest Holders of Puerto Rican Debt
Via Iver
For years, the identity of the owner of one of the largest holdings of Puerto Rican debts has been a mystery.
That mystery has finally been solved, with the help of the The Baupost Group, who unmasked themselves to The Intercept. The Baupost Group, a Boston-based hedge fund managed by billionaire Seth Klarman, owns nearly a billion dollars of Puerto Rican debt, purchased under a shell company subsidiary and hidden from public scrutiny. Baupost acquired the debt through an on-paper Delaware-based corporation named Decagon Holdings LLC, whose beneficial owner had been unknown until now.

Pence Chief Of Staff Tells Donors: We Must ‘Purge’ Anti-Trump Republicans
Nick Ayers, chief of staff to Vice President Mike Pence, is sick and tired of Republican congressional leaders who are actively working against President Donald Trump, and he suggested to a group of wealthy GOP donors at an RNC event this week that they must cut off their funds and “purge the handful of people who continue to work to defeat” Trump.

Gun Statistics
Of all parts of the U.S. Constitution, the twenty-seven words that make up the Second Amendment are arguably the most frequently debated, if not the most controversial. Despite what you may hear today about the Second Amendment being applied only for militias, or only intended to regulate muskets, our founding fathers made the purpose of the Amendment clear. And it wasn’t for hunting.

EPA to repeal and replace Obama-era climate rules:
Via Billy
The EPA is expected to propose a repeal of the Clean Power Plan as early as this week, and then start the process of creating a new climate plan.
Reuters obtained a copy of the yet-to-be issued proposal on Wednesday. There had been some questions over whether EPA would simply repeal the Obama-era climate rules for power plants, or propose a replacement rule. According to the proposal, it appears EPA will do both.

Marco Rubio asks Army to remove officer who posted pro-communist messages
Via Billy
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., wants the Army to remove an officer who posted pictures of himself on social media promoting pro-communist messages, and is asking the United States Military Academy to consider rescinding his degree.
Rubio sent a letter to acting Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy on Tuesday to complain about 2nd Lt. Spenser Rapone's conduct, and to ask whether West Point's administrators or faculty knew about his pro-communist views. Rapone is now an infantry officer in the Army.
"While I strongly believe academic institutions must respect the exchange of ideas and allow students to voice their opinions, members of the military who harbor anti-American views and express their desire to harm our country and its leaders are unfit to serve and defend our nation — and certainly should not enjoy the privilege of attending or graduating from an institution such as West Point, a taxpayer-funded military academy," Rubio wrote.

The Farce of Biofuels
Via Bill
I purchased my previous lawnmower in July 2016 after the carburetor in my previous one had succumbed to the mandated ten percent ethanol in gasoline. But I was back to Sears again in September 2017 for the same villainous ethanol problem. Since Sears could not repair this latest victim of ethanol, they gave me a new model with improved features. I am covered by warranty until July 2019.
I guess I really can’t complain, but be aware that in the U.S., marine and farming equipment fuels are exempt from the mandated ten percent ethanol. I guess the corn farmers knew what this stuff does to your engine.

Goodies from Ol' Remus
From Alex Thomas at the Daily Sheeple:
... members of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders may have purposefully allowed their star quarterback to get sacked multiple times after he refused to kneel during the National Anthem... “He wants to stand alone, he can stand alone on the field,” one of the teams offensive lineman said, according to the shows source. Keep in mind, the offensive line are literally the guys whose job it is to protect the quarterback, in this case the star player who didn’t kneel. There's only one team Members Of The African American Community are on, and it ain't the Raiders or any other NFL team.

Blackball, Z Blog - Peak professional football was probably a dozen years ago. It was around then that white mothers, started turning against youth football. They did not want their little baby being run over by black kids. That’s why the concussion hysteria gained traction. It’s a ready made excuse for pulling the white kids out of football, that lets white women pretend it is not racism driving their decision. Those kneeling black players are a stark reminder to white women that the sport of football is for violent black men, not nice suburban white boys. Youth participation in football is collapsing and this will only serve to accelerate it. The NFL has now made football anti-white and un-American.
Identity politics, American Thinker - For some time now, Democrats have played the identity politics game, revving up grievances, real or imagined, of different ethnic groups with the only commonality a dismissive prejudice against middle-class white men. This divisive disunity strategy served them well for a while, but no longer. With nothing else to replace it, it’s between Scylla and Charybdis—risk losing the base and seek broader appeal or crash into obscurity. They continue to choose poorly. With such a cynical, divisive and mendacious strategy, is it any surprise that the DNC coffers are running low? Donors and supporters are abandoning the party in droves.
