Freemont, North Carolina: Remembering Joe Marm this Veterans Day

Via Cousin John

 MARM, WALTER JOSEPH, JR. Photo

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty. As a platoon leader in the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), 1st Lt. Marm demonstrated indomitable courage during a combat operation. His company was moving through the valley to relieve a friendly unit surrounded by an enemy force of estimated regimental size. 1st Lt. Marm led his platoon through withering fire until they were finally forced to take cover. Realizing that his platoon could not hold very long, and seeing four enemy soldiers moving into his position, he moved quickly under heavy fire and annihilated all 4. Then, seeing that his platoon was receiving intense fire from a concealed machine gun, he deliberately exposed himself to draw its fire. Thus locating its position, he attempted to destroy it with an antitank weapon. Although he inflicted casualties, the weapon did not silence the enemy fire. Quickly, disregarding the intense fire directed on him and his platoon, he charged 30 meters across open ground, and hurled grenades into the enemy position, killing some of the 8 insurgents manning it. Although severely wounded, when his grenades were expended, armed with only a rifle, he continued the momentum of his assault on the position and killed the remainder. His se lfless actions reduced the fire on his platoon, broke the enemy assault, and rallied his unit to continue toward the accomplishment of this mission. 1st Lt. Marm's gallantry on the battlefield and his extraordinary intrepidity at the risk of his life are in the highest traditions of the U.S. Army and reflect great credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of his country.

Dems fooling themselves over Virginia election results

http://www.americanthinker.com/assets/images/at-painter.gif

The Republican Party got its butt kicked Tuesday night in the Virginia governor's race.  To hear the Democrat media tell it, it was the bell tolling for thee, you disgusting, deplorable dullards who are supporters of that revolting MAGA maggot in the White House.  But mind you now, we are seeing all these demonstrations of extravagant electoral glee from the very same folks who were all but suicidal a year ago this time, when their shoe-in winner got an unexpected shoe in her wide electoral fanny.

Just as they were excessively overwrought then, so are they now far too giddily optimistic regarding the portents of these recent results.  To hear them tell it, one could easily believe that the 2018 elections are all but a done deal for the Dems and that we deplorables may as well stay home on Election Day 2018.

Actually, I believe that's what happened in Virginia yesterday: the Republican establishment ran one of their favorites, an unfortunately lackluster lobbyist who was so uninspiring that he couldn't manage a simple majority in the party primary, pulling in only 43% of that vote.  What percentage of that other 57% do you suppose stayed home yesterday rather than bother to go vote for this unexceptional party hack they had already rejected in the earlier race?

After a business meeting before the Miss Universe Pageant in 2013, a Russian participant offered to "send five women" to Donald Trump's hotel room in Moscow, his longtime bodyguard told Congress this week, according to three sources who were present for the interview.

Two of the sources said the bodyguard, Keith Schiller, viewed the offer as a joke, and immediately responded, "We don't do that type of stuff."

U.S. Army Mulls over Whether to Give Bergdahl $300,000 in Back Pay

FILE - In this Jan. 12, 2016, file photo, Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl arrives for a pretrial hearing at Fort Bragg, N.C. Former Navy SEAL James Hatch who testified this week at Bergdahl’s sentencing hearing on charges he endangered comrades by leaving his post in Afghanistan in 2009, has had eight years to think about the nighttime raid that ended with insurgent AK-47 spray ripping through his leg. Hatch said he's still angry at Bergdahl but doesn't envy the military judge who must decide his punishment after sentencing resumes Monday, Oct. 30, 2017. (AP Photo/Ted Richardson, File)

What part of no do you not understand....?

he U.S. Army is mulling over whether to give Pvt. Bowe Bergdahl $300,000 worth of back pay and other benefits that he accrued while in captivity with the Taliban.

Bergdahl, 31, had been captured by the Taliban after he walked off his base in Afghanistan, and pleaded guilty to desertion charges. A military judge ruled that Bergdahl be dishonorably discharged and demoted in rank from sergeant to private for his sentence, but that he serve no prison time.

But after Bergdahl pleaded guilty to desertion charges, the Army is weighing whether the private could still be considered a prisoner of war, according to Fox News.

Prisoners of war and other soldiers in captivity are entitled to exclusive benefits, such as $150,000 worth of special compensation. They are also eligible for hostile-fire pay and basic pay for their usual duties while in captivity.

One Army official said that it is likely Bergdahl would only receive basic pay for the five years he spent in captivity.

Alabama state auditor defends Roy Moore against sexual allegations

Former Alabama Chief Justice and U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore during his election party, Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, in Montgomery, Ala. (AP Photo/Brynn Anderson)

Because none of us, in our thirties appreciated teenage girls....He, who is without sin.....

Judge Roy Moore, the Republican candidate for Alabama's upcoming special Senate election, denies allegations that he romantically pursued teenagers as young as 14 when he was in his 30s. Even if the allegations are true, one statewide elected official in Alabama said it's "much ado about nothing."

“There is nothing to see here,” Alabama State Auditor Jim Ziegler told the Washington Examiner.

“The allegations are that a man in his early 30s dated teenage girls. Even the Washington Post report says that he never had sexual intercourse with any of the girls and never attempted sexual intercourse.”

After interviews with more than 30 people, the Washington Post reported Thursday that Moore engaged in sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl when he was 32 years old and a powerful attorney in a small Alabama town.

Donald Trump’s DHS Nominee: Americans ‘Owe’ Amnesty to DACA Illegals: Poll: Fewer Than 30 Percent of Americans Want Amnesty for DACA Illegals

 amnesty

What the hell is Trump thinking?

President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Homeland Security says “we owe” amnesty to the nearly 700,000 illegal aliens who are shielded from deportation under the expiring DACA amnesty.

In her confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Kirstjen Nielsen confirmed her pro-amnesty, mass immigration views by saying that it is the United States’ responsibility to legalize illegal aliens shielded under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“I believe that we must and we owe it to them to find a permanent solution,” she said of passing a DACA amnesty that could potentially lead to a chain migration of 9.9 million to 19 million foreign nationals pouring into the U.S. legally. “It’s no way to expect anyone to live a month or two months at a time,” said Nielsen, even though the DACA work-permits each last for two years.

Kidporn, and a Suggestion: For Which I Will Probably Be Lynched

 https://fredoneverything.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/fredban.jpg

The other night we watched a documenatary ,The Dark Net ,on Netflix on child pornography. Dim as I am, I  didn’t realize that there was such a huge amount of it, mostly on the Darknet. This refers to transmission of material by layered encryption and quickly becomes technical: TOR, asymmetric encryption, IP packets, session keys, and so on. The upshot is that a staggering swamp of kid porn is out there, and it is almost impossible to eliminate.

The stuff is nasty. Children of eight or nine, mostly girls, forced to do naked live-cam chat with strange men on other continents, to engage in all the sexual behavior you can think of. No equipment is needed beyond a laptop and a webcam. In interviews, pedophiles say that they know it is wrong, but cannot keep themselves from consuming the stuff. Whether you buy this or not, they obviously will watch  when they know there is no danger of being caught. Which means that children will continue being forced to make it.

Jewish Confederates

The Hebrew Confederate Cemetery, located in Richmond, Virginia, is the only Jewish military cemetery in the world outside of Israel.

Private Leon, A Jew, Served In 53rd NC (My Family's Unit)
"When I commenced this diary, of my life as a Confederate soldier I was full of hope for the speedy termination of the War, and our independence.
I was not quite nineteen years old. I am now twenty-three. The four years that I have given to my country, I do not regret, nor am I sorry for one day that I have given - my only regret is that we have lost that for which we fought. Nor do I for one minute think that we lost it by any other way than by being outnumbered at least five, if not ten to one. The world was open to the enemy, but shut out to us. I shall now close this diary in sorrow, but to the last I will say that, although but a private, I still say our Cause was just, nor do I regret one thing that I have done to cripple the North."

The Jewish people have endured much throughout their long history, yet have always continued to hold on to their religious and cultural identity. Finding a safe harbor from persecution was perhaps the main justification for the formation of the State of Israel in 1948. Yet before this monumental event, amidst the often tumultuous sea of the diaspora, there did briefly exist another corner of the world in which calm waters were found for the Jewish people. Robert N. Rosen tells us in his book The Jewish Confederates that “the Old South was remarkably free of prejudice against Jews.”[1]

Though there were less than 25,000 Jewish people living in the South, they enjoyed comparatively unprecedented freedom and exercised considerable influence. “Numerous Southern Jews served in state legislatures, city councils, and in other positions of authority” including three Jewish members of congress before the war. This is not to say antisemitism did not exist in the Old South, but, according to Rabbi Bertram Korn “Nowhere else in America – certainly not in the Antebellum North – had Jews been accorded such an opportunity to be complete equals as in the old South.”[2]

Welcoming the Enemy: Will Deep State Policies Surrender America?

October 31 marked another deadly terrorist attack that TV pundits and liberal politicians and officials insisted could have nothing to do with Islam and denied had any connection with foolish and corrupt immigration policies. Yet 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov, a 2010 immigrant from the Radical Islamist hotbed of Uzbekistan blessed the rent-a-truck vehicular murder of eight pedestrians and the serious injury of 11 others with “Alahu akbar,” the usual Islamic terrorist benediction. He was also carrying an Islamist flag, which he has asked to have displayed in his hospital room. He is reported to be proud of his murderous Jihadic accomplishment.

One liberal journalist erroneously noted that “Alahu akbar” simply means “God is great.” But this popular translation by Islamic apologists is badly in error on two counts. “Allahu akbar” means “Allah is greater” than all other gods, including and usually specifically the God of Judeo-Christian Scripture. Allahu akbar is a triumphant declaration of Islamic Supremacy, a central doctrine of Islam, proclaiming the superiority of Islam over all other religions and belief systems, which will no longer be tolerated with the final victory of Islam. Although “allah” is an Arabic word for “god,” Allah is by no means the same as the Judeo-Christian God of Scripture. I leave it to the reader to review and compare the teachings of Judeo-Christian Scripture with the Koran and the teachings and example of Islam’s Supreme Prophet, Muhammad.

A new poll published by Politico/Morning Consult has found that the vast majority of Americans who voted Trump for President would vote exactly the same way if the election were held again today, while fewer Hillary Clinton voters would stick with their candidate.

A total of 82 percent of Trump voters said they would do it again, while only 78 percent of Hillary voters said they would support her in a do-over.

Just 7 percent of Trump voters say they would change their decision, while 8 percent of Hillary voters said they would switch.

"Final Solution"

 http://en.protothema.gr/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/NUC.png

Here is a little story from personal experience for all those people so anxious to see the next "final solution".

In the 1980s I worked as a quality control engineer in a branch operation of a major control valve manufacturer. The main facility of this company was "N" stamp certified and built both commercial and military nuclear systems. Our branch operation was not. All of our manufacturing orders were forwarded to us by the main plant.

We were given a VERY large order for valves. The statement of work required that all equipment was to be "manufactured in accordance with but not certified to ASME SEC. III". The main plant also assigned additional QC staff to assist us in meeting these requirements as the amount of additional paperwork for material certification, welding certification, manufacturing, assembly and testing procedures was exponentially greater than that required for your typical commercial coal fired power plant.

The reason for all this additional work became abundently clear when when the job was completed, boxed up and ready to go. It was not until then that were finally received the final shipping instruction, and US Customs officials arrived to lock and secure the shipping containers. From there everything had to be sent via a customer contracted trucking company to a specific port and specific vessel. The ship to address on all crates and containers was "Demona Israel via Tel Aviv". The "manufacture in accordance with but not certified to" instruction was simply a means of circumventing prohibitions on the exportation of nuclear technology.

My point being is not that this order was large enough to outfit two nuclear reactors plus spares but that the State of Israel was founded on one simple principle, "Never Again". A concept repeated by every Israeli government from 1947 to the present day. The Israelis did not build the Negev Nuclear Research Center to keep the lights on in Tel Aviv and Haifa. If another war comes and it approaches a point where the Isralis are facing destruction IT A SURE BET THAT THEY WILL OBLITERATE THEIR ENEMIES ONCE AND FOR ALL. Nuclear fallout across the Middle East will be the last of their concerns.

The Israelis have been preparing for this possibility for at least half a century. They will not be subjected to another annialation alone. I would venture to guess that the Israelis have told the House of Saud that they will not be exempt from their wrath and crackdown on the extremist Wahabbi elements and a backdoor alliance is as much about self preservation as it is about economic restructuring, or political and/or religious reform.

The hatreds in the Arab and Muslim world are manifold. Centuries old  tribalism is rife across the region. The hatred between Arab and Persian  predates even that between the Sunni and Shia divide in Islam and is as much if not more virulent than either of thems hatred of Israel.

I sincerely doubt that the new Crown Prince is great visionary or a Muslim Martin Luther. He has been tasked to make sure the House of Saud remains in control and he's setting about doing that with ruthless efficiency so far. Any deal making between SA and Israel must been seen in that light. And if that undermines Iran and their Shia allies in Lebanon all the better for them.

What If Government Steals Liberty And fails to deliver safety? Judge Napolitano

Via Billy

What if the government doesn’t really deliver for us? What if its failures to protect our lives, liberties and property are glaring? What if nothing changes after these failures?

What if the National Security Agency — the federal government’s domestic spying apparatus — has convinced Congress that it needs to cut constitutional corners in order to spy on as many people in America as possible? What if Congress has bought that argument and passed a statute that put a secret court between the NSA and its appetite for all electronically transmitted data in America?

What if that secret court — called the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court — is supposed to protect personal liberty but instead has become a wall behind which the NSA hides?

Packed Churches: .357, .45, and Glock

Via Billy

Regarding the mass murder in the Texas church, President Trump was correct: it was a good thing that somebody had a gun.

Somebody outside the church had a rifle. He knew how to use it. It will not cost $1 million for the local authorities to try and convict the murderer. There will be no life imprisonment without possibility of parole, and no overturning of that sentence by a parole board. The murderer was transferred to the Supreme Court. I am certain that he has been tried, convicted, and sentenced. There will be no appeal. There will be no parole.

Nevertheless. . . .

If every man in that church had been packing, fewer people would have died.

If every woman in that church had been packing, even fewer would have died.

It is common for most churches to have a greeter at the door. My church has two greeters at the door. If both of them were visibly packing a pistol next Sunday, I would feel relieved. Two greeters, two pistols. This would be consistent with what Jesus taught:

    Whereas, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Sen. Charles Schumer, Representative Elizabeth Esty and others are exploiting national tragedies to promote a pre-ordained agenda to end the private ownership of firearms;

    Whereas, gun control advocates continue to camouflage gun control behind benign-sounding motives such as banning so-called "bump stocks" when, in truth the language being debated would ban optical sights, trigger jobs, muzzle compensators and other devices commonly used by competitive shooters and others;

    Whereas, the intent of gun control organizations to use a so-called "bump stock" ban as a springboard for additional gun control was openly expressed by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, when she said: "They’re going to say, ‘You give them bump stock, it's going to be a slippery slope.’ I certainly hope so";

Republican Representative Bob Goodlatte to Retire

There is speculation that lawmakers like Goodlatte – traditional Republicans who rejected Donald Trump as a presidential candidate – don’t want to be in the Trump-run GOP, and that’s why they’re retiring. If that’s really their case, though, I say good riddance. President Trump is the leader of the party. If you don’t like it, you can make like Goodlatte and leave.
Another GOP lawmaker is choosing to retire rather than run for re-election in 2018.

Rep. Bob Goodlatte, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced that he will retire after his current term.

This is stunning news, and comes on the heels of a rash of retirement announcements by his fellow GOP lawmakers.

Earlier this week, two GOP reps, Frank A. LoBiondo of New Jersey and Ted Poe of Texas, announced they wouldn’t seek re-election. With Goodlatte’s announcement, a grand total of 30 GOP lawmakers won’t be running for office in 2018.

Symbolism like this is a major facet of Chinese culture. The snub was intentional, and it was meant to insult the honor of President Obama.
“These things do not happen by mistake,” said Jorge Guajardo at the time, Mexico’s former ambassador to China. “Not with the Chinese.”
He added, “It’s a snub. It’s a way of saying: ‘You know, you’re not that special to us.’”
President Trump’s recent trip to Asia included a stop in China where the country rolled out the red carpet for the American leader. In fact, take a look at this intro from a report by The Guardian. “Uncompromising luxury. Exquisite life. Fun, redefined.” The site was describing the posh, five-star hotel in which Trump would be staying for his visit to a location just east of Tiananmen Square. Trump also became the first foreign leader to dine in the Forbidden City since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Virginia Exit Poll: 6/10 Oppose Removing Confederate Monuments

This is NOT being sent as an SCV member. Its being sent as a War Monument Supporter

I am in constant contact with someone in the Legislature and know what's going on. Its very busy since the bloodbath of defeats Republicans just got.

Republicans now have a 1 seat advantage in the Senate and 1 seat in the House of Delegates.

Their 4 re-counts underway that look promising for Republicans to hold, but its no guarantee.

The Democrats are already looking for one Republican member to change parties and if one does they will be offered their choice of prestigious committee assignments. Also the new Democratic Administration will be looking for one of the people in a close District they know they may be able to win in a special election, and the new administration will be offering them a well paid appointed State job. A lot of these Delegates do not make much money in their personal life and a Delegate only gets paid $17,640.00 a year. A 6 figure salary with State benefits will look very good. This is just the way the system works and Republicans have used this tactic before themselves.

If Democrats Monument opponents get control, one of the first things on their "hit List" will be the state statutes that protect the monuments. They also can try to get a Republican in a close district to "flip" and vote with them on this one issue. Committee assignments is where the power is in the General Assembly and they do not have to change parties to vote with Democrats on this one issue and be very well rewarded for it with these Committee assignments.

The legislature is back in session January 10, 2018.You BETTER BE WELL PREPARED on January 2 to start calling ( that's what's most important), send letters and e-mails to EVERY member of the House and Senate, over and over. It will be LOTS of work but just MAY save War Monuments. If the State Code is amended or done away with entirely, that's the end, and the court fight is over. Another organization I am in was successful in this tactic on another issue last year and we won by 1 vote in the House. It can be done, but TAKES DEDICATION. LAZY CAN NOT WIN.

To those of you who have been putting anything racially insulting on Facebook and using words you should not use, PLEASE STOP NOW. These will definitely be used against us. We are at a GREAT disadvantage and can not afford to be stupid and shoot ourselves in the foot before the race even begins.

I know this is long but I am in constant contact with the people that know what is really going on and you need to know what I know.

I would request that the SCV put this information out to everyone in the Virginia Division. Its fact I know to be accurate and started the day after the election. I will continue fighting this my way, but we need "all hands on deck". If you are a member of a SCV Camp, even those of you that have quit because you have some grievance, please come back and assist. This is much more important than any grievance any of us have.

You can contact me at this e-mail address or 757-287-3309 with any questions.

Thank You, We must have your help to save the War Monuments,

"They are like the salt of the earth. Nothing grows where they’ve been."

Those who have read his Count of Monte Cristo can readily appreciate the wisdom of Alexander Dumas who wrote, “The difference between treason and patriotism is a matter of dates.” Similarly, Civil War era historical interpretations are a matter of dates.

Consider the example of President Ulysses Grant.  While the many corruption scandals during his presidency cannot be denied, modern biographers and historians commonly minimize them by emphasizing his role in protecting black voting rights in the South. Moreover, they generally characterize his civil rights motives—and those of fellow Republicans—as grounded in the morality of racial equality.

Historian Sean Wilentz has gone so far as to declare, “The evidence clearly shows that [Grant] created the most auspicious record on racial equality and civil rights of any president from Lincoln to Lyndon B. Johnson.” Similarly in 2017 Ron Chernow opined, “[Grant’s] pursuit of justice for southern blacks was at times imperfect, but his noble desire to protect them never waivered.” In 2012 H. W. Brands wrote, “Nearly a century would pass before the country had another president who took civil rights as seriously as Grant did.” When reviewing Ron White’s 2016 Grant biography, T. J. Stiles explained, “Reconstruction dominated Grant’s presidency. Unlike many, he knew it brought liberation, not occupation, empowering African-Americans in states where they were a majority or large minority.

White describes how he pushed Congress and his own administration to essentially invent civil-rights enforcement.”

On this day in 1965, elements of the U.S. 173rd Airborne Brigade and the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, numbering around 400 men, came into violent contact with over 1200 Viet Cong.

At about 06:00 on 8 November C Company began a move northwest toward Hill 65, while B Company moved northeast toward Hill 78. Shortly before 08:00, C Company was engaged by a sizeable enemy force, well dug in to the southern face of Hill 65, armed with machine guns and shotguns. At 08:45, B Company was directed to wheel in place and proceed toward Hill 65 with the intention of relieving C Company, often relying on fixed bayonets to repel daring close range attacks by small bands of masked Vietcong fighters. (Shotguns and masked?  Strikes me as strange)

B Company reached the foot of Hill 65 at about 09:30 and moved up the hill. It became obvious that there was a large enemy force in place on the hill, C Company was suffering heavy casualties, and by chance, B Company was forcing the enemy's right flank.
