Goodies from'Ol Remus
Veronica Lake, 1941
The only real “problem” with illegal immigration in this country is that America has so far has lacked the will to apply the solutions...The argument for not deporting eleven million illegals amounts to: "whatcha going to do about it?" We've been told in every way we can be told, the law isn't always the law. And they know the law isn't always the law. There's only one law that's always the law: don't mess with the government's money.
“Can’t” deport all the illegals? Really? Okay, let’s start by deporting every single one that’s currently resident in jails and prisons. After all, you can’t say we don’t know who they are and where they are. That would be a good start and we can move on from there since it would give us practice in how to load buses and drive, oh, South.
Purge, US Defense Watch - Obama hated America’s democratic republic, and would not tolerate anyone who did not blindly follow his communist ideology; including all commanding admirals and generals on active duty in our military. Following his election to office in 2008, he began a purge of those officers who still believed in duty to country and honor of service. It was a silent purge, only because the MSM kept it quiet. Everyone within the military knew it was happening, as did those who follow military events; however, the general population had no idea. To rebuild our military, President Trump needs to purge our officer corps of Obama holdovers, as openly as Obama did to men of honor.

Phnom Penh '94-'95
Similar to Phnom Penh 1994 - 1995
Cambodia was nice during this time frame , and
guns were allowed, but you couldn't take them into bars, so there was
always a desk when you first came in to check your guns. All the goodies
in life were cheap and available.
I used to go to Martini's in Phnom Penh which was out of this world. It opened around 10 at night until four. Great snacks, food, booze, indoor, outdoor, music, dancing. I met some Army guys there who were enlisted attached to the Embassy, and they had been trained in the North Vietnamese dialect which I found strange, but never could get to the bottom of it.

After the GIs left Saigon I returned to Southeast Asia as a reporter for Army Times. For a while I lived in a rooftop apartment on Jawaharlal Nehru Street in Phnom Penh with Steve Hedder, a young stringer for Time, and his Khmer wife Davi. With us were the twins, pretty, playful girls of sixteen perhaps who spoke reasonable English. They were the people with soft hands that Pol Pot would kill.*At night the smell of charcoal and *flower trees drifted from neighboring roofs and people murmured in Khmer. Reporters--mostly stringers--lay on the roofs in a fog of gin and Nembutal and listened to the rockets whistle in from the swamps. When the KR took over, Steve and Davi got out. The twins didn't. I don't know how they died.I will be told I have a bad attitude. You bet I do.
*How well I remember. Beautiful white flowers.
Confederate Dead
THE CONFEDERATE DEAD BY LATIENNE.
From the broad and calm Potomac, To the Rio Grande's waves, Have the brave and noble fallen — And the earth is strewn with graves, In the vale and on the hill side, Through the wood and by the stream, Has the martial pageant faded. Like the vision of a dream. Where the reveille resounded. And the stirring call'to arms,
on the downy heads of clover To the wind's mesmeric charms; Where the heels of trampling squadrons Beat to dust the mountain pass, Hang the dew-drops fragile crystals From the slender stems of grass. Where the shocks of meeting armies Roused the air in raging weaves, And with sad and hollow groanings, Echoed earth's deep hidden caves ; Where the cries of crushed and dying Pierced the elemental strife, Where lay Death in sick'ning horror 'Neath the maddened rush of life ; Quiet now reigns, sweet and pensive, All is hushed in dreamless rest. And the pitying arms of Nature Holds our heroes on her breast ;
Shield them well, oh tender mother, While the winds in tender breath Whisper us, the sad survivors. Of their victory in death. What though no stately column, Their cherished names may raise, To dim the eye and move the lip With gratitude and praise. The blue sky, hung with bannered clouds, Their solemn dome shall be, All Heaven's choiring winds shall chant The anthem of the free. The Spring with vine-clad arms shall clasp, Their hillocked resting places, And summer roses droop above With flashed and dewy faces ; Fair daises, rayed and crowned, shall spring Like stars from out their dust, And look to kindred stars on high With eyes of patient trust. And vainly shall the witling's lips Assail with envious dart The fame of our heroic dead, Whose stronghold is the heart — The nation's heart — not wholly crushed, Though each throb be in pain ; For Life and Hope will still survive, Where Love and Faith remain.
'Nazi Grandma' arrested after she fails to show up for prison
An 89-year-old woman, who was sentenced to two years'
imprisonment in Germany for incitement to hatred, was arrested on Monday
after failing to show up for her prison sentence.
Ursula Haverbeck, dubbed "Nazi Grandma" by German media, is a notorious Holocaust denier who was found guilty of incitement
in eight cases last year. She was expected to start her prison sentence
in the town of Bielefeld last Wednesday, but she did not appear.
Authorities issued an arrest warrant on Monday.
She was handed her most recent sentence for sending the mayor of Detmold, and the media, a letter in which she claimed Jews were never exterminated at Auschwitz.
In Germany, those who deny the Holocaust may be charged with incitement of hatred.
Haverbeck has been convicted of incitement several times before but had not served prison time. In 2015 she was on trial for saying the Holocaust was "the biggest and longest-lasting lie in history".
The Holocaust was the mass murder of six million Jews, who were killed by Nazis in the lead up to and during World War II.

Mueller will not charge Trump
The 13 Angry Democrats in charge of the Russian Witch Hunt are starting to find out that there is a Court System in place that actually protects people from injustice...and just wait ‘till the Courts get to see your unrevealed Conflicts of Interest!
Having recently left a position as a federal fraud and corruption prosecutor in Washington, D.C., to return to private practice, I have marveled at the many legal experts who have spent significant time debating whether a sitting president can be indicted, and even what charges Special Counsel Robert Mueller may bring against President Trump. While these might be interesting legal questions, they are purely hypothetical. The Department of Justice has a longstanding (Nixon-era) policy stating that criminally prosecuting a sitting president is “unconstitutional.”
That is a massively strong, mountainous statement, and the special counsel as a DOJ entity, subject to departmental policy and supervision, cannot overcome it.
But the experts like to posit: maybe that DOJ policy position is wrong (it has not been tested in court), and so what if the special counsel went rogue? The problem there is that visible federal prosecutors do not go rogue in violation of DOJ policy. It does not happen.
LTC Oliver North to become NRA president

"I am honored to have been selected by the NRA Board to soon serve as this great organization's President," North said in a news release. “I
appreciate the board initiating a process that affords me a few weeks
to set my affairs in order, and I am eager to hit the ground running as
the new NRA President.”
Lt. Col. Oliver North is set to become the
president of the National Rifle Association of America, a process the
NRA Board of Directors initiated Monday, the group announced.
North will be retiring from his role
at Fox News effective immediately. He will be taking over the position
occupied by Pete Brownell, who did not seek a second term as NRA
president.

Poll Reflects Upswing in Support for Trump & Show Americans Increasingly Disinterested In Mueller’s Probe
Reuters weekly polling reflected an upswing in support for President Donald Trump. Which immediately caused them to issue an apology along with the release.
A slew of polls conducted in April show a shrinking level of support for special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Recent polls from Monmouth University, Quinnipiac University and Maris indicate Americans are souring on the wide-ranging probe. People are starting to see Mueller’s investigation as unfair to President Donald Trump, two of the three also suggest.

Blue State blues -- Trump's tax cut is supercharging job growth in low tax states
Via Billy
On December 22, 2017, President Trump signed a
massive tax cut and reform bill crafted by Republicans without the help
of one Democrat vote.
One of the bill’s more controversial
measures was the limitation of the state and local tax (SALT) deduction
to $10,000 through 2026. According to the CPA Journal,
taxpayers in California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts,
Connecticut, and the District of Columbia lose the most by the
limitation of the SALT deduction. That said, most taxpayers will see
their federal taxes reduced, even in high-tax states.

New Performance Center T/C Long Range Chassis Rifle
Performance Center (think Smith & Wesson) using Thompson Center components has created a new chassis rifle that has just upped the stakes for a budget-get in-the-long-range-game rifle. The price point is truly incredible when you consider that the MSRP of the rifle – $1211 – is less than what I paid for my first aluminum chassis stock over 15 years ago.

The Blue Virus
I am reading a great book, American
Contempt for Liberty by Professor Walter E. Williams; it is a massive tome – an aggregation of his essays. In it he has an essay, Parting
Company, in which he
discusses the potential geo-political divorce between the two sides of the
political spectrum:
I believe our nation is at a point where
there are enough irreconcilable differences between those Americans who want to
control other Americans and those Americans who want to be left alone that
separation is the only peaceable alternative. Just as in a marriage where vows
are broken, our rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution have been grossly
violated by a government instituted to protect them. These constitutional
violations have increased independent of whether there's been a
Democrat-controlled Washington or a Republican-controlled Washington.

Why Science and Experience Command That You Buy an 'Assault Rifle'
It must be nice walking through life believing that the paradise the founders built here in North America is the natural state of man, and that we can therefore forgo the difficult and dangerous tasks associated with defending it. But some of us don’t have the luxury of illusions. We know that peace and civilization are not the natural state of man, and that the black swan events that we have somehow convinced ourselves could never happen do happen with startling regularity. And this is why you should buy guns and ammunition.

Veteran Campaigns for Office by Attacking Private Gun Sales and the Right to Own Semiautomatic Firearms
“Democrat buys semiautomatic rifle at Va. gun show in under 10 minutes,” The Washington Post crows in a “Gotcha!” headline designed to use supposedly “straight news” to stir up a demand for political action:
“Dan Helmer, an Army veteran, said he bought a firearm similar to the one he carried in Iraq and Afghanistan to show how easy it is to legally obtain an ‘incredibly dangerous piece of weaponry that’s meant for war” from a private seller. He bought the gun less than two miles from a public school, he said.”Emotionally manipulate the ignorant much? The firearm may be cosmetically “similar,” but you can bet he didn’t carry a semiautomatic rifle when deployed. As for being “meant for war,” you’ll note he’s not questioning why police should have them if that’s the case, plus he’s intentionally ignoring what the citizen militia is entitled to: Per the Miller Court, “the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear … ordinary military equipment … that … could contribute to the common defense.”
