[Photos] Nostalgic Images of Daily Life in Old Saigon

During the first half of the 20th century, Saigon earned a reputation as the Paris of the East. With its wide, tree-lined boulevards and grand colonial buildings – not to mention a significantly smaller population – the southern hub was the talk of not only Vietnam but all of Southeast Asia.

You'll find some familiar sights in the following series of photos, courtesy of Flickr master manhhai, including Ben Thanh Market and the grand intersection of Le Loi and Dong Khoi, Binh Thanh District's Thi Nghe Market and the streetcars running along Tran Hung Dao.

An FBI attorney who worked on the special counsel’s Russia investigation until earlier this year sent anti-Trump text messages to a colleague, including one exclaiming: “Viva le Resistance.”

The attorney’s comments are revealed in a Justice Department inspector general’s report released on Thursday.

The lawyer is not identified, but he worked on the Hillary Clinton email investigation and was the FBI’s lead attorney on the investigation into Russian election interference. He was assigned to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation soon after it began in May 2017 and left in late February of this year after some of his private messages were shared with the special counsel.

IG Report: FBI Agent Strzok Vowed To Stop Trump From Becoming President

FBI agent and integral Obama-Gate operative Peter Strzok declared to his mistress Lisa Page that he and his fellow “Crossfire Hurricane” agents would stop President Donald Trump from winning the 2016 election.

Rep. Mark Meadows said that this information was withheld from Congress — clearly by deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein and others.

Two Southern Presidents in History

It was Wednesday, April 19, 1865. The Confederate States of America lay prostrate under the twin plagues of starvation and despair. Richmond had fallen and Lee’s surrendered Army of Northern Virginia was heading home. Four years of near constant fighting had depleted the South’s resources and killed a generation of its sons. On the military front, General William T. Sherman had completed his march through Georgia to the sea and was heading north to link forces with the main Union army under General U. S. Grant. Once combined, Union forces would be poised for complete victory. The worst dreams of John C. Calhoun were on panoramic display from Richmond to Atlanta to Vicksburg.

Growing Assault on Private Property: Is 2018 turning into 1984?

Tom DeWeese, recognized expert on private property rights, has released a new book entitled Sustainable: The WAR on Free Enterprise, Private Property and Individuals. DeWeese’s book describes in detail the process being used at every level of government to reorganize our society through the destruction of private property.

According to DeWeese, the American system of free enterprise, private property ownership and individual liberty is under attack by a political force that, while plainly out in the open for all to see, is little understood and mostly ignored. Yet private non-governmental organizations (NGOs), city planners and federal agencies have teamed up specifically to change human society under the banner of Sustainable Development. It is gaining power in every state, county, and community under the false threat of Environmental Armageddon, demanding that we completely reorganize our economic system, our representative form of government, and our individual lifestyle.
