SAVED FROM SOCIALISM: U.S. Saves Baby Oliver After U.K. Doctors Said His Heart Couldn’t Be Fixed

Baby Oliver was born with a rare heart condition known as cardiac fibroma. The socialized healthcare system in the U.K. was not equipped to perform the necessary surgery to remove the non-cancerous tumor in his heart. Oliver would have to be put on a list to receive a heart transplant, and even then, he would only be expected to live to the age of 15, at the longest.

But due to the innovation and ingenuity of the United States, the necessary surgery was not only available, but had a 100% success rate at the Boston Children's Hospital.

"I Told You So": Trump Hits Out At EU After $5 Billion Google Fine

In a move that many had expected, President Trump lashed out over Twitter in response to Brussels' decision to slap Google with an record €4.3bn ($5 billion) antitrust fine, exclaiming "I told you so!" before suggesting that the move was further evidence that the EU had "taken advantage of the U.S., but not for long!"

 On Wednesday, in a long-awaited move, Google parent Alphabet was slapped with the record fine and ordered to change the way it installs search and web browser apps onto Android mobile devices.

The company was given until mid-October to stop the "illegal practices" as the EU phrased it, on their contracts with handset manufacturers. Failure to comply will result in a 5% fine on revenue.

Peter Strzok was born in the late 1960’s – he attended the American School in Iran up until 1978 when it closed down and then he attended the American School in Saudi Arabia. He supposedly attended a Catholic School, St. John’s Prep in Minneapolis (the school refused to confirm or deny attendance) and then completed a Bachelors at Georgetown and some form of graduate degree after that.

Hungary joins US in withdrawing from UN global migration agreement

Hungary’s populist government announced this week that it is withdrawing from a U.N. global compact on migration, describing the agreement as “in conflict with common sense” and national security -- making it the second country after the U.S. to reject the compact.

“The primary issue for us is the security of Hungary and the Hungarian people, and this document is totally at odds with the country’s security interests,” Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said in Budapest on Wednesday. “According to the Government’s position, the U.N. Global Compact for Migration is in conflict with common sense and also with the intent to restore European security.”

Donald Trump Previews Second Meeting with Vladimir Putin

 Oh my, this should put the dems in a tizzy.:)

President Donald Trump reacted Thursday to the latest negative media coverage about his administration, and previewed a second meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The Summit with Russia was a great success, except with the real enemy of the people, the Fake News Media,” he wrote on Twitter. “I look forward to our second meeting so that we can start implementing some of the many things discussed.”

Trump said that he and Putin discussed the importance of stopping terrorism, nuclear proliferation, and cyber attacks as well as trade, Ukraine, the Middle East, and North Korea.

“There are many answers, some easy and some hard, to these problems…but they can ALL be solved!” he wrote optimistically.

China, rather than Russia, is the “most significant” long-term threat to the United States, FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday.

During an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt at the Aspen Ideas Forum, Wray said that the FBI has economic espionage investigations in all 50 states that trace back to Chinese activity.

“It covers everything from corn seeds in Iowa to wind turbines in Massachusetts and everything in between,” said Wray.

Through the lens of Gary Grayson, a former Australian military officer, life persisted in 1968 Saigon despite the tumultuous political climate enveloping the region at the time.

Grayson was a member of the Australian Signal Corps, which provided communication support during the American War. With his trusty camera, Grayson captured the essence of life in Saigon in its ordinary, yet nostalgic, form during deployment. Even in its peaceful moments, Saigon couldn’t detach itself from the reality of war. This contrast between ordinary and abnormality is strikingly highlighted in his photos.

Husband shoots suspected robber in the head after finding wife held at gunpoint

Houston police are investigating after a husband shot one of two burglars accused of robbing his wife and forcing their way inside of the couple's home Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 4300 block of South Acres around 10:30 p.m. after two men approached a woman in her driveway and stole her purse before forcing her to take them inside her home, according to Houston Police Dept. officials.

I'm from two very contributory pioneering families, so my interest in small town growth or development is quite literally in my blood. Through advocacy I realized a few years ago that I had a sincere love for my lineage and heritage, and that a love of history was a key element in every aspect of my life. I've always had a want to look at historic items in an effort to better understand how those who came before me did things; and had a curiosity about the history of items that I came across.

The first submarine to down an enemy ship was sunk itself after its crew failed to release an emergency weight to help it resurface. 

Crew aboard the Confederate vessel HL Hunley did not disconnect the 1,000lb keel blocks to help it rapidly resurface, resulting in the sub being trapped underwater and the men dying from lack of oxygen.

Scientists who removed the corrosion, silt and shells from the boat found the levers all locked in their regular position, solving a mystery dating back to 1864.

A time like no other in history

 

Having applied all of my integrity, intellect and insight to researching the matter, my belief is that we are witnessing right now one of the greatest communications events in history. Indeed, it is arguably the singularly greatest. So, what is this event, and why does it deserves this extraordinary description? The answers are to be found in how the (Western) mass media has been trapped by the most exquisitely constructed double bind.

If I am correct (and many share my view), then it portends the imminent collapse of trust in all mass media services and social media platforms. That is because they are implicated in systemic, widespread and longstanding organised crime — that also encompasses much of our political and financial system. If this is unequivocally demonstrated to be so, then the public will unite in disgust at the media’s treacherous betrayal of its journalistic duties.

Sanders asked for unanimous consent to try to pass his resolution, saying senators "must act" if they are "serious about preserving American democracy."

As a trial judge in New Jersey during the Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush years, I spent much of my time trying to settle cases. This process involved bringing into my chambers the lawyers for the disputants and asking them in the absence of their adversaries to lay their cards on the table.

After I found out what the litigants truly wanted and I did some pushing and shoving and jawboning, more often than not, agreements were reached. The threat of an imminent jury trial -- with its expenses, complexities and uncertainties -- was often enough to bring the parties to a quick, sensible and relatively inexpensive resolution. Occasionally, flattery -- even fatuous flattery -- helped.

All trial judges in America are familiar with this process. It takes place in criminal, as well as civil, cases in every courthouse in the country nearly every day.

But it takes place in secret.
