Marine archaeologists believe they have found the wreckage of the famous ship off Newport, Rhode Island

The possible discovery of HMS Endeavour off the east coast of the US has been hailed as a “hugely significant moment” in Australian history, but researchers have warned they are yet to “definitively” confirm whether the wreck has been located.

On Wednesday Fairfax Media reported archaeologists from the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project, or Rimap, had pinpointed the final resting place of the famous vessel in which Captain James Cook reached Australia in 1770.

The ship was later used by the British royal navy in the American war of independence and was eventually scuttled with a dozen other vessels off Newport, Rhode Island in 1778.

Third Person that Kavanaugh Accuser Claims Was at Party Denies Incident

 Brett Kavanaugh

A third high school student Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford claimed attended a party more than 35 years ago where the future Judge Kavanaugh attacked her denied any memory of the alleged incident in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, CNN reported Tuesday.

CNN obtained a letter from Patrick J. Smyth, a Georgetown Prep alum who graduated in Kavanaugh’s class, to Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). The letter was penned after Ford apparently identified Smyth as “PJ” – another teenager who was one of around five people at a drunken gathering in a Montgomery County, Maryland, home in or around 1982.

“I understand that I have been identified by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as the person she remembers as ‘PJ’ who supposedly was present at the party she described in her statements to the Washington Post,” the letter, penned by Smyth’s attorney, Eric Bruce, reads. “I am issuing this statement today to make it clear to all involved that I have no knowledge of the party in question; nor do I have any knowledge of the allegations of improper conduct she has leveled against Brett Kavanaugh.”

President Donald Trump toured New Bern, North Carolina, on Wednesday, viewing the damage caused by Hurricane Florence.

Trump also visited Temple Baptist Church and joined volunteers handing out pre-packaged meals to storm victims.

As he passed out supplies, one boy wearing a hat approached the president.

“Can I have a hug?” he asked.

“Yes!” Trump said enthusiastically, embracing the boy to the delight of the crowd.

“You did a good job,” Trump said, referring to the boy’s mother before taking a picture with the boy.

“Now you made me cry!” noted one of the woman volunteers.

My fourth Daughter Christine on the hurricane and the response including Trump in Emerald Isle

The plant shrine is done minus the rug and I am celebrating with a glass of wine! 🍷Everywhere else in the yard is a mess including my haaair. 😂 I must say I am super impressed with how everything was handled during this hurricane. Before, during and after.

The police officers, firemen, paramedics, nurses, doctors and linemen working during a hurricane and sacrificing their life to protect the people. Random people helping each other out, FEMA already at people homes accessing them, health department and our President down the street.

Everyone who helped each other out with the goodness of their heart. My friends who would do anything for me and the boys💜. Simple messages from people meant the world to me. I am so thankful for the smallest things in life right now and how spoiled I am to live in a such a great place. I could easily be living in a third world country. This definitely isn’t the end but so Thankful for life right now. 💋#hurricaneflorence

Voters elected political newcomer Pete Flores to the Texas Senate on Tuesday, flipping a Democratic district red for the first time in 139 years and bolstering Republicans’ supermajority in the chamber ahead of the November elections.

A retired game warden, Flores defeated former state and U.S. Rep. Pete Gallego for the Senate District 19 seat after receiving backing from some of the state’s most prominent politicians, including Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and U.S. Sens John Cornyn and Ted Cruz.

“We conservatives are conservative in the way we make approaches. The gunfight’s not over until the last shot’s fired,” Flores told the Express-News after Gallego conceded in a phone call just before 9 p.m. “The last shot’s been fired.”

Grassley: No reason to delay Kavanaugh hearing & Ford has no right to set conditions

Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is pressing forward with a hearing scheduled for Monday after a woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct called for the FBI to investigate her claims before she testifies.

Grassley on Tuesday evening said there was "no reason" to delay the hearing. Republicans have invited both Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, his accuser, to testify publicly.

“Dr. Ford’s testimony would reflect her personal knowledge and memory of events. Nothing the FBI or any other investigator does would have any bearing on what Dr. Ford tells the committee, so there is no reason for any further delay," Grassley said.

President Donald Trump has demanded the “immediate declassification” of sensitive materials about the Russia investigation, but the agencies responsible are expected to propose redactions that would keep some information secret, according to three people familiar with the matter.

The Justice Department, FBI and Office of the Director of National Intelligence are going through a methodical review and can’t offer a timeline for finishing, said the people, who weren’t authorized to speak publicly about the sensitive matter.

Democrats Call on Deep State to Sabotage Trump’s Order to Declassify Russia Investigation Docs

“President Trump has issued an order to his subordinates to declassify certain information related to the Russia investigation. He has plenary declassification authority as the President of the United States. The FBI and DOJ are subordinate to him. Congress does not get to order Executive Branch officials to defy a president — that is actually a constitutional crisis,” said DC-based lawyer Will Chamberlain.
Top Democrats have called on deep state members of the FBI and the Department of Justice to sabotage President Trump’s order to declassify documents relating to the Russia investigation.

On Monday, Trump ordered the release of Russia-related text messages from former FBI officials James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, and Lisa Page.

Last night, Rep. Adam Schiff, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Senator Mark Warner, and Senator Charles Schumer all signed a letter which was sent to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein demanding that the relevant agencies ignore Trump’s order until Congress is consulted.

“Your agencies’ review, and any communication with the White House on the substance of the material, should not proceed further until you have briefed the Gang of Eight in person,” states the letter.
