The city-state of Singapore, population 5.6 million, has a face-mask problem. Namely, there aren’t enough of them to go around.
Thanks to the COVID-19 virus — better known as coronavirus — the tiny island right off the southern coast of the Malay Peninsula has had an issue keeping the masks in stock, along with hand sanitizer and other assorted items.
The government ended up subsidizing masks so that every family could have them after people decided to hoard them like they were bottled water in a storm. Pharmacies reported massive shortages of both the masks and sanitizer.
More @ WJ
all of it is bs. the cotton masks do not block a virus. it is as if the mask was not even there because a virus is so very small.
ReplyDeleteI have three gas masks but wouldn't do any good as I breath through my neck.! :)
DeleteAccording to Rush - and my memory - the CDC doctor stating this is... Rod Rosenstein's sister. Who, assuming politics run in the family, has an incentive to spread fear to hurt the economy, and by extension Trump.
ReplyDeleteI'm not stating this intent is true, but the potential is there.
Wouldn't doubt it an iota.
DeleteWrecking the economy, I believe, is one of the reasons for the hype. More people die from the flu that this virus montyly. Also, more people die in inner cities from black on black crime that this virus. So, why all the hoopla?
DeleteWrecking the economy, I believe, is one of the reasons for the hype
DeleteGood point.
There's virtually nothing about strengthening one's own immune system. I noticed the world map of the Caronavirus cases and deaths were all in the Northern Hemisphere. That indicates, as with regular flu and colds, they occur during the less sunlight season which results in low Vitamin D levels. Why not encourage people to supplement with Vitamin D, about 5000 I.U.'s daily. Oh, but then, the media may be in trouble with the FDA which prevents health enhancing information. --Ron W
ReplyDeletethe media may be in trouble with the FDA which prevents health enhancing information. -
Delete:) Typical.
Correcting myself, not all Caronavirus cases are in the Northern Hemisphere, but most are. Nevertheless, NOTHING is in the media re: strengthening one's immune sysytem. Supplementation with D3, Vitamin C and minerals like magnesium and zinc are very important. --Ron W
DeleteNorth Carolina coronavirus case admitted to Duke University Hosp.
ReplyDeleteThe person came from China. William Gheen reported on it today
and this person has since tested positive. Why no quarantine in
America. North Korea shut-down their border immediately and any
shipments coming from China remain untouched for ten days.
Michale Savage called for the quarantine of the country when
it was first reported and he is a epidemiologist.

I guess they think the cautions they have in place will work like it did with Ebola. 11 total with two deaths.
DeleteEbola was overblown as I followed it closely. I'm pretty
Deletegood at reading between the lines.
Thanks.
DeleteYou know, Wm. Gheen must have used the state of NC when he probably
ReplyDeletemeant California. Listen to Jeff Rense, i.e. William Gheen and
the first 3-4 minutes he mentions NC positive coronavirus of
unknown origin. I know California's is of unknown origin:

Brock, is your family doing okay in California?
Thanks and everyone is fine inducing me in Mexico and nothing here but boredom. :) Back to Vietnam ASAP!
DeleteVietnam - don't forget that long, long trip and how it
Deletetakes everything out of you. But, you only live once.
In the early nineties there were no computers in the airline business as far as I know and on most flights I could find 2 or 3 empty seats together which was good enough to sleep some for me. Sitting up doesn't work.
DeleteYes, and damn if you lay your seat back. Now days,
Deleteeverybody is traveling in massive amts. Seeing the lines
at the ticket counters are over-whelming. People use to
stay home or travel around the country and see America.
The airline doesn't have a cot type bed for your use for
medical reasons?
I'm sure they would be happy to sell me a first or business class ticket where the seats fold down but extremely expensive. :) Just checked and the cheapest are $2,800 or $3,600 one way!
DeleteCompared to what?
DeleteNever mind, I understand. $2,800 for regular and
Delete$3,600 for a little more comfort.
You have a while to save up the difference so it
is not a strain on you.

Oh, I see. That is a mighty big difference. Maybe you
Deletecould arrange in advance for no passenger behind you.
I know 'aim to please' is not the flavor of today.
Thanks but most flights these days are 100% booked.
DeleteI posted that incorrectly, it is $584 for coach, $2,800 for business and $3,600 for 1st class.
DeleteHow about the last row in the back - nobody will be
Deletebehind you.
Maybe you could write it off some how - business
venture.
I always choose the last aisle seat in the rear but not for comfort.
Delete"I visited her in the hospital in the Philippines. She told me she had been saved by a miracle, as she had originally been seated in the bottom of the airplane, but at the last minute had been asked to go and sit up in the tail section, as they were in need of more companions for the orphans there. Although the C5A was 65 feet high, Thelma only needed one short step to reach the ground when she exited at the conclusion of the crash."

Good story. Safety first. I always heard the very back
Deletewas the safest. Thanks for the info.
See ya!
