The National Archives Labels the Constitution “Racist”
Whether the craven response by Congress and national conservative leaders, or, more locally, the action of a Republican Gerald Kivett in Sampson County, North Carolina, member of the county commissioners, who made the successful motion to remove the Confederate monument in that largely rural county, it amounts to the same thing: cowardice, the fear of being labeled a racist and perhaps being “cancelled,” hoping to stave off something worse, but at base a lack of conviction and faith.
The Revolution is not mollified by weakness and groveling. Offering up half a pig will kill the pig, as it will kill what is left of this country.
I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised. After all it was completely logical, the inevitable result of the insane “woke” political correctness that has been building and raging, largely unabated, in the United States now for years. Indeed, in my regular columns and essays I have been writing that this insanity, spread and imposed like a highly contagious and fatal infection—far worse than COVID—would not and could not be stemmed by the pitiful half measures of spineless Republicans and of despicably cowardly “conservatives.”
Yet, the news that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Washington, D.C., had begun to re-label the nation’s founding documents, characterizing them as reflecting “racist, sexist, ableist, misogynistic/misogynoir, and xenophobic opinions and attitudes” and being “discriminatory towards or excluding diverse views on sexuality, gender, religion, and more, ” still caught me off guard.

Republicans in the House and Senate are calling on the Marine Corps to release Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, who was thrown in a military jail this week after he criticized military leadership for the botched Afghanistan withdrawal on social media and continued posting about his disposition.
According to a Marine Corps spokesperson, Scheller is currently in pre-trial confinement in the Regional Brig for Marine Corps Installations East aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune pending an Article 32 preliminary hearing. The time, date, and location of the proceedings have not been determined.
The Marine Corps notes that he has not been charged with anything but the “general nature” of offenses being considered at the hearing are:
Article 88 (contempt toward officials)
Article 90 (willfully disobeying superior commissioned officer)
Article 92 (failure to obey lawful general orders)
Article 133 (conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman (Ha! Guess they'll have to add gentle women....:)

A UCLA professor who was briefly suspended after declining a request that Black students get easier final exams after George Floyd’s death sued the school Wednesday, accusing it of defamation and loss of financial opportunities.
Gordon Klein, a lecturer at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management who has taught there for decades, filed the lawsuit in state court against the school’s dean, Antonio Bernardo, the University of California Board of Regents, and a host of unnamed “co-conspirators.”
“I did this because the school has continued to retaliate against me, and other scholars are facing retaliation, and I thought it was important for someone to step up and say, ‘enough,’” Mr. Klein told The Washington Times. “I have the legal skills and training to do so, so I’m stepping up.”

Tom Cotton To General Milley: ‘Why Haven’t You Resigned?’
Cotton later blasted Milley, saying, “General Milley, I can only conclude that your advice about staying in Afghanistan was rejected. I understand that you’re the principal military adviser, that you advise but you don’t decide, the president decides, but if all this is true, General Milley, why haven’t you resigned?
On Tuesday, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) grilled Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Mark Milley about their interactions with President Biden vis-à-vis the disastrous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, ultimately demanding to know why Milley still holds office.
Cotton asked Milley, “It’s your testimony that you recommended 2,500 troops, approximately, stay in Afghanistan?”

If you are a doctor and you think it is OK to ask a 15 year old if they wants a vaccine and not the Mother you are the biggest problem in this world right now. My son doesn’t even drive and if he is allowed to make a choice for him regarding a vaccine and his health being underage then he should be out of the house paying his own bills already.
Today I took Akai to the doctor for a sick appointment with the doctor on call I usually don’t go to. She asked Akai NOT ME, wouldn’t even look at me if he wanted the vaccine. Which I purposely looked at her on purpose to see if she would look me in the face. Akai said no I do not want it. I don’t need it.
She repeatedly asked if he wanted the vaccine trying to persuade him to get it. He had to tell her three times no as he started getting annoyed and she could tell. It is not ok to try persuade someone into getting something they don’t want PERIOD. I am very proud of Akai for standing his ground and not taking this forceful movement against our Freedom. As much as I wanted to say my two cents to this doctor, I stood quiet and watched Akai handle it perfectly.

And just remember as a doctor I am your customer and I am paying you and you do not tell me what to do with my body, my health and definitely not my children. I am their Mother and a damn good one. The Weeks House and farm complex are notable for containing the only known surviving log dwelling in the county and a reasonably intact early 19th century woodworking shop. Enlargements of the house in two stages and a cohesive cluster of outbuildings add to the interest of this farm.
The appearance of the house today is L-shaped with an attached rear ell; a kitchen/dining room is also located in the rear, connected by a breezeway. The front ell, on the right, dates from Victorian times; the gabled section on the left dates from about the time of the Civil War. Behind that section is the log room that Silas Weeks (1796-1860) built in the 1840s, according to family tradition. It has beaded weatherboard and batten doors with the exposed logs and horizontal battens forming the interior walls.

Lincoln’s Total War
Who has not heard of Wounded Knee? Most know at least the general facts surrounding what is acknowledged as an atrocity committed by the army of the United States. On December 29th, 1890, the 7th Cavalry surrounded a band of Ghost Dancers—a spiritual movement of the Lakota Sioux—near Wounded Knee Creek. The soldiers demanded that the Indians surrender their weapons. As the Indians made to comply, a fight broke out between an Indian and a soldier and a shot was fired. When it was over, it is estimated that between 150 to 300 Indians—nearly half of whom were women and children— had been killed; the cavalry lost 25 men. Wounded Knee is considered the last major confrontation in the deadly war of extermination waged by the American government against the Plains Indians.

The Binh Dinh Province capital seemingly has it all: mountains for hiking, pristine coastlines, a unique food scene and fascinating history that includes the rise of Nguyễn Huệ and his brothers, as well as the life of Hàn Mặc Tử. It is thus a special pleasure to marvel at the city when it was even less-developed and still had many scenes to get our ventricles throbbing.
These photos taken in 1965 by American Tom Robinson reveal a Quy Nhon of red dirt roads and working fishing boats, farmers going about their daily affairs, and a growing collection of western architecture spurred on by the increasing presence of foreign residents.
The collection presented by Flickr user manhhai reveals that before it straddled the line between tourism destination and an essential provincial capital, Quy Nhon existed in the quaint nexus between an urban center and agricultural outpost.

President Joe Biden didn’t just announce a Covid-19 vaccine mandate on companies employing 100 or more people, he plans to enforce it.
On Saturday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s House quietly tucked an enforcement mechanism into their $3.5 trillion “reconciliation” bill, passed it out of the Budget Committee, and sent it to the House floor.
Buried on page 168 of the House Democrats’ 2,465-page mega bill is a tenfold increase in fines for employers that “willfully,” “repeatedly,” or even seriously violate a section of labor law that deals with hazards, death, or serious physical harm to their employees.

When I got here eighteen years ago, to make a telephone call to the States you had to go down the late to Chapala where there was a storefront with maybe a half dozen booths. A clerk dialed the number for you from a central desk and you paid by the minute. Getting a landline phone in your house could take years. Now of course cell phones are everywhere and no one seems to want landlines. A 4G contract with unlimited calling to Canada, the US, and Mexico and enough data that we use it for music in the car goes for under eighteen dollars a month. Various companies offer fiber to the house for WIFI. And if you want 200 channels of awful TV with twenty minutes of commercials per hour, you can get them.
Much has not changed. There is the same corruption, the police are crooks, and the narcos kill each other in droves. The guns still pour in from America. There is still real poverty in places. Yet the middle class is now about half of the country. Over the long haul things have gotten better, but not at anything like the Chinese rate. A measure of the improvement is the decline in interest in emigrating to the US.
We live on the north shore of Lake Chapala, roughly an hour south of Guadalajara. It is a fairly prosperous region. Schools are decent. My stepdaughter Natalia attended two public schools in Guad, one here at Lakeside, and went to high school in Jocotepec, a berry-growing agricultural town on the west end of the lake. The latter two I have seen. They reminded me of American schools before the country went woke. Many schools in Mexico have uniforms, but here they dress neatly in jeans, shirts, dresses on the casual side.
The internet has brought massive changes since I arrived. Pre-internet, a farming town like Joco had almost no connection with anywhere else. There would be a few a.m. radio stations and maybe a minimal public library. That would be it. Guad was too far away for frequent visits. It was, you know, like the sticks. Really, really the sticks.
Then came the net, first dial-up accessible only to a few. Then cell towers appeared, smartphones, and WiFi.
Almost suddenly, kids were listening to Korean rock bands and radio
stations across Latin America and Europe and of course the US. This was
enormous. Flat screens proliferated and people were watching YouTube,
Netflix, opera, the New York Phil, movies both good and awful. Many
learned passable English from movies. Teenagers being teenagers, they
soon learned to “espofear los servidores,”
I remember when Natalia, then maybe thirteen, ran up and announced that she had just discovered a wonderful new kind of music. “Se llama Cone Tree.” Soon she knew more about Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton than I did.
Sex roles (that sound like something you would get at a doughnut shop) have changed greatly since I visited Saltillo in the Sixties while hippying around. Friends, engineers in their early twenties, told me that a woman’s place was still supposed to be in the kitchen, the church, and the bedroom. This version of male dominance was nothing like the venomous Moslem variety, and anyone who even thought about female genital mutilation would likely have ended up in a ditch, but it was restrictive.
By the time I got here, this was falling apart. Universities today are littered with girls, certainly the Universidad Marista where Natalia did her undergrad. It is not true that all Mexican doctors and dentists are women, but it sometimes seems so. At a recent quinceaños, a sort of growing up party for girls of fifteen, I met a bigger sister who had popped high on her math (Mexican) SATs) and been accepted in robotic engineering at (I think) the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico’s premier engineering school. It is of note that university education has improved immensely, though as best I can tell it is, with exceptions, only fair compared with American schooling before the country went woke. Today, if I had new children, I would rather send them to Mexican schools than American. Yet schools proliferate. The Tecnológico has campuses in thirty-eight cities, for example.
Mexico outside the big cities remains as it has always been since my arrival, and long before, which has its good and bad side. Violeta and I make a pastime of driving to towns within maybe a hundred miles of Lakeside, passing through scraggly green and dun growth that I much like. The pueblos, many of which I didn’t know existed, are variations on a standard theme, central plaza with gazebo in the middle as bandstand during fiestas, and church facing the plaza. They remain stubbornly Mexican devoid of such horrors as McDonald’s, not designed at corporate. Though the plan is the same, the execution is always different and often lovely. I don’t know how many of the residents are still believers, many I think, but the Church provides a commonality, a social bond, and everyone enjoys the celebrations of saints’ days. The Church, a common race, and common language provide the cultural stability that keeps the country from fragmenting under political problems.
These towns might be described as sleepy and quiet, but the latter only if you do not regard bird calls, the playing of children, and Julio Iglesias from maybe a car radio as noise. There is a localness, a placeness if that is a word, that makes them pleasant to live in.
The downside is a lack of dynamism. Mexicans in general do not have the drive of, say, the Chinese, being content with family and a placid life. You could do worse.
Our drives through the outback produce memorable moments. Recently on a narrow winding road through not much of anywhere, a buitre—buzzard—waddled in the middle. These birds are not made for walking, and do not do it well. It refused to get out of our way. We blew the horn. No. I yelled out the window. No. For what seemed a long time we paraded together at maybe two miles an hour, Honda CRV and ungainly bird. Finally it lumbered aloft.
Them is today’s thoughts. Now I’m going to get a beer and watch our hummingbirds. They don’t really need watching, but I do it anyway.

The end of our Afghanistan adventure is upon us and it is worse than the most pessimistic predictions on how the war would end. I have been writing since 2008 that there was only one way the Afghanistan conflict would end and that would be with an accommodation of the Taliban. I never imagined that the Taliban would sweep the board and help us extricate ourselves from the country in the most amateurish Non-Combatant Operation (NEO) every executed by the United States military.
I first got wind of the impending disaster on the 28th of July when a freelancer friend of mine asked if he could provide my contact information to a man in Zaranj, the capitol of Nimroz province, who wanted me to apply for a visa on his behalf. I checked with my former interpreter from Nimroz, now a resident of California, about the man in question and it turned out he was a resident of Zaranj, but had worked for the contractor GRS, not me. But I did learn about the new P1/P2 visa program which would open a route to the United States for all the Afghans who worked with me but were not interpreters.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years. Reflecting on the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, aka the “Twin Towers” 20 years this week puts recent history into new perspective.
What did the Twin Towers represent to the terrorists? Perhaps their view of the essence of America – Capitalism.
The first terrorist salvo – Yankee soil. New York. The “Big Apple”. THE epicenter of money and commerce, arguably of the world.
So what has happened since that time? While the US military has been deployed in the Middle East in an effort to fight the “Global War on Terror” to prevent terrorists from bringing more terrorism to American soil, domestic terrorists have been continuing their activities at home. Perhaps, not in an obvious way.

Covid 19
“But it’s only a small percentage” I have heard that phrase spoken so many times since Covid has started, it drives me nuts. I’ve heard it in regards to people dying of Covid, and I’ve heard it in regards to the Covid vaccine. I’m tired of the divide in this country being perpetuated by the media and government.
Our health should be our individual choices, the reason is clear, every persons body reacts to medication/vaccines differently. For anybody to insist or mandate that each persons body is the same, is ridiculous. It’s appropriate that this memory came up today, maybe it will help some people understand that while Paul may have been a small statistic, a side effect of one of the prescribed FDA approved drugs that he was taking, that he was a real person to all those people he loved. So the next time you want to say “but the statistic is low” to try to justify your position either way, please try to have some empathy and understanding for other people‘s experiences.
What happened to being able to ask questions and have informed consent? Isn’t that what medical freedom is about? Isn’t that what democracy is about? When did it become wrong as a society that we shun people for asking legitimate questions? Why are we being censored for asking questions? Not everybody has the time, or the know how to research information about Covid and/or the Covid vaccines, so please allow room for discussion, hear your family and friends out. It may not change your mind but what happened to a good debate? I remember in school we were taught to debate by being put on the side we did not necessarily believe in and trying to win our case by swaying the other side so that we could understand how to debate while being informative and NICE!
Now it just seems more often than not, people are just name calling instead of having discussions or providing Information. Sadly, there is a lot of miss information out there but you can find a lot of information and make your own assessment and you should try too! I will continue to speak up regarding information I have researched and it’s up to the person whether they want to listen to that message now, later or never. What is CRUCIAL is if you think you can save a life by speaking up, do it! Be part of the solution!

Survey Shows Democrats’ Multitrillion-Dollar Spending Package Lacks Support

Understanding the American Iliad and Shattering some Historical Myths – Part 1
The American Revolutionary War (1775–83), as it is most frequently termed, was not a truly a revolutionary war. A revolution, as commonly defined, is the overthrow and replacement of a government or social order with a new system of government or social order. The American colonists had no intention whatsoever of overthrowing King George III or the British Parliament or interfering with the Anglican Church in England. Thirteen of Great Britain’s North American colonies wanted political independence from British rule. The “Revolutionary War” is more properly called the War for American Independence, but it was really a war for the independence and self-determination of thirteen colonies united by common causes. Nor was the war part of an internal a civil war for control of Great Britain or the British Empire. The thirteen colonies were geographically separated from Britain and saw compelling reasons for separating from British political control and determining their own political and economic destinies.
On July 4, 1776, thirteen British colonies jointly announced their Secession from Great Britain. North Carolina had already declared its independence on May 15, 1775, and Thomas Jefferson used much of the language of the North Carolina Mecklenburg Declaration in writing the Declaration of Independence. Anthony Fauci’s agency funded 60 projects at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in communist China and he never revealed the extent of the funding to President Donald Trump while serving as his Covid czar, an Australian journalist has revealed.
Fauci was “up to his neck” funding coronavirus research at the Wuhan lab, which “just shows how incredibly stupid” he is, said Sharri Markson of Sky News.
Fauci, who has been the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984, stayed silent about the “risky research that was underway at the Wuhan Institute of Virology” during Oval Office meetings at the start of the pandemic in early 2020, Markson said. “He never mentioned that his agency was funding this, and he actually knew a whole lot about it.”

Defiant students at University vow to push back on policy that will punish them for “misgendering” fellow students
The 4,000 students who attend Point Park University learned Sept. 13 that an updated anti-discrimination campus policy includes a Pronouns and Inclusive Language Guide. The campus-wide email was sent by the Office of Equity and Inclusion, which warned students in the opening paragraph about “misgendering, pronoun use, and deadnaming” fellow students as the new school year begins.

No one thought an abortion law more barbaric than New York’s was possible, but Joe Biden’s party is bent on proving them wrong. Thankfully, Republicans are just as determined to protect life as Democrats are to destroy it.
People say it’s hard to find consensus in Washington, but Democrats have found plenty on one issue: abortion. At least in the House, the idea of middle ground has vanished. When it comes to the taking of innocent life, the battle lines are clear: Republicans are 100-percent opposed, and all but one Democrat is in favor.

Black University Employee Arrested for Allegedly Painting Racist Graffiti on School Building
In August, someone painted several racist and offensive slurs on a building at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. At the time, local news outlet WSBTV reported that the “Emory Autism Center has become the target of several crimes, including burglary and vandalism, including graffiti of racial slurs and swastikas.”
A police report for the incident also mentioned that vending machines in the building were vandalized, along with a glass door that had been shattered. A large rock was found several feet away.

NEW POLL: 58% of Americans disapprove of Joe Biden; with 50% "STRONGLY disapproving" of his performance. -29% index rating
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, sponsored by The ANTIFA by Jack Posobiec, for Monday shows that 40% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Biden’s job performance. Fifty-eight percent (58%) disapprove.
The latest figures include 21% who Strongly Approve of the job Biden is doing and 50% who Strongly Disapprove.
This gives Biden a Presidential Approval Index rating of -29%.

Christmas Dinner

Christmas dinner during the Great Depression - turnips and cabbage. My mother told me there was very little meat so they raised what they could and often ate fried onion sandwiches for dinner. It's strange how people that had so little were so grateful for every little thing they had and here we are today with so much and many of us appreciate nothing. We live in such a throw away society, if something is of no further use to us it's trash. So much has changed, and continues to change, even in my lifetime it makes your head swim when you think about it. I may be remembering things differently than how they actually were but when I think of how much kinder, accountable, responsible and grateful people used to be, it makes me wonder if all of the things we have now are really making our lives better.

I graduated from High School in 1966, and all of my course studies had been academic. My main interests besides girls were Marching Band and Debate. Having won the Kansas State Oratorical championship in 1964 with a speech topic "Optimism Formula For Freedom", my intentions were to become a lawyer. I was aware of the Viet Nam war, especially when it began to heat up in 1965. Little did I know that before the next year was over that I would take a journey straight into the pits of hell and see the heaviest fighting our country has ever experienced.
After high school, I enrolled in junior college. I paid my own way by also working at night part time for the H. D. Lee Company that made clothing. When I quit college to join the Marines my professors and especially the office tried to get me to reconsider by saying "But your grades are well above average. You will never have to go!" My reply, and my reason for joining, was simply "those guys fighting and dying over there are no more deserving to be there than me, and I can't feel right letting them do something I would not."

The problem I see with this existential 21st Century (world) War is that there are a lot of guns being brought to a cyber/pharmaceutical fight. No doubt there will be need of the weaponry, but we’re in the battlefield preparation stage and whole swaths of fighters are being swept away before the first shot is fired.
They know they can’t win a shooting war, so, like Sun Tzu, they’re building the battlefield they want to fight on, which isn’t digging trenches, it’s neutering huge sections of the population, literally, and using the “be reasonable” argument to keep the enemy sitting on their porches waiting for the societal approval to go ahead. The fact that they already see the typical American as the enemy is a warning sign in itself.

Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), told Fox News during an interview on Thursday night that if President Joe Biden were not president, he would arrest Biden for “aiding and abetting.”
