Audie Murphy of B Company, 15th Regiment, Third Division. The most decorated soldier in the U.S. Army.

At Salzburg, Austria on 2 June 1945, Lieutenant General A.M. Patch, Commander of the 7th Army presented Murphy with the Medal of Honor and Legion of Merit for his actions at Holtzwihr.

When asked after the war why he had seized the machine gun and taken on an entire company of German infantry, he replied, “They were killing my friends.”

Murphy was born on June 20, 1925, in Kingston, Texas as the seventh of 12 children. Murphy’s mother died just before his 16th birthday in 1941. He tried to enlist in both the Army and Marines but was rejected for being both underage and underweight. His older sister helped forge his birth certificate and signed an affidavit where he was finally accepted into the Army on June 30, 1942. He was just 16 years old.

In late February 1943 he was shipped out to Casablanca, Morocco as part of B Company, 1st Bn. 15th Infantry Regiment of the 3rd Infantry Division. He was assigned as the platoon messenger. As a division runner, Murphy was with the division as they fought across Sicily, into the ancient city of Palermo and finally on to Messina where they closed the door on the German’s withdrawal.

He took part in the Salerno landings on mainland Italy at Battipaglia. He and another soldier broke up a German ambush by killing five of the enemy. The fighting in Italy raged thru the autumn and Murphy was promoted to Sergeant in December 1943. Less than a month later he was promoted again to Staff Sergeant in January 1944.

After the landing at Anzio, Murphy took part in the Battle of Cisterna where the 1st and 3rd Ranger Battalions were annihilated due to faulty intelligence and poor planning by the Corps Commander MG Lucas. Murphy was made a platoon sergeant after the battle. He hadn’t yet turned 19 years old.

Holding up in an abandoned farmhouse, Murphy destroyed a German tank with rifle grenades and killed the crew. For that, he was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” device.

Murphy and the division took part in Southern France and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for actions taken on August 15, 1944. Murphy’s platoon was fighting through a vineyard when the men were attacked by German soldiers. Murphy grabbed a machine gun, returned fire at the German soldiers, killing two and wounding one. Two Germans exited a house about 100 yards away and asked to surrender.

Murphy’s best friend responded and as he moved forward to take them, prisoner, they shot and killed him. Murphy advanced alone on the house under direct fire.

He killed six, wounded two more and amazingly after what happened to his friend, took 11 prisoners.

The 1st Bn. received a Presidential Unit Citation for their fighting around Montélimar.

He received a Purple Heart from mortar shrapnel in September.

Murphy’s Silver Star medal was for his action in charging a German machine gun position where he killed four and wounded three more.

He received a Bronze Leaf on his Silver Star when he crawled up a hill and directed fire against the Germans while under constant, direct fire. His actions resulted in 15 killed enemy and 35 wounded.

Less than four months after his 19th birthday, Murphy was given a battlefield promotion to 2nd Lieutenant. He was wounded for the 2nd time on October 26, when he captured two Germans before being shot through the hip by a sniper. He returned fire, shooting the sniper right between his eyes. His wound would keep him out of action until January.

He was wounded in both legs in mid-January after rejoining his troops in the fighting around Holtzwihr.

On January 26, he became the Company Commander of B Co. On that day as they were attacking the German positions, an M-10 Tank Destroyer supporting the infantry was hit and set afire. While ordering the company to retreat to the woodline, he remained at the flaming M-10, firing his M-1 Carbine and calling in fire on the German troops. The entire time Murphy was in full view of the Germans and they were pouring fire in his direction. Then he did the unimaginable. Murphy climbed up on top of the burning tank destroyer and mounting the .50 caliber machine gun, he poured fire at the German troops.

The enemy sent a squad crawling up a ditch trying to get to him but he saw them and cut them all down. He stood alone, on a flaming open-topped tank destroyer for an hour with German infantry and tanks advancing and pouring fire at him. He killed or wounded 50 of the attacking enemy. The Germans finally wounded him in the leg, but he remained on the TD until he ran out of ammunition. He then made his way back to his men and refused medical evacuation until he personally led them back to push the Germans back.

For this incredible action, Murphy was awarded the Medal of Honor.

He was promoted to First Lieutenant and moved off the line and into a Regimental Headquarters slot as a liaison officer.

Postwar: Murphy suffered from what we now call PTSD. He spoke to the Veterans Administration about it. In an effort to ease the strain on returning Vietnam veterans, he spoke candidly about his own problems and called on the government to give increased consideration and study to the emotional impact of combat experiences and to extend health care benefits to war veterans.

Film Career: Murphy launched a 21-year career as a film star being active from 1948-1969. He was known mainly for his westerns but he later played himself in the autobiographical “To Hell and Back.” That film became the biggest hit in Universal’s history at that time

He was killed in a plane crash in Virginia in 1971 and was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. His gravesite across from the amphitheater is one of the most visited other than JFK’s.

Is Secession Treason?

And they, sweet soul, that most impute a crime
Are pronest to it, and impute themselves…
Tennyson, from Idylls of the King (1)

We the Delegates of the People of Virginia … Do in the name and in behalf of the People of Virginia declare and make known that the powers granted under the Constitution being derived from the People of the United States may be resumed by them whensoever the same shall be perverted to their injury or oppression… (3)

We the Delegates of the People of the State of New York … Do declare and make known … That all Power is originally vested in and consequently derived from the People, and that Government is instituted by them for their common Interest Protection and Security… That the Powers of Government may be reassumed by the People, whensoever it shall become necessary… (4)

The US Supreme Court, in Texas vs. White, ruled that secession from the Union was unconstitutional. Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase, in 1869, wrote the majority “opinion of the court.” His opinion was not that of Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence, in which he had written:

Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes… But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security… (2)

Ammon Bundy’s emerging bid to become the next governor of Idaho faces a peculiar roadblock: he is currently barred from entering the state Capitol where he would ostensibly need to conduct official business after being arrested there twice within 24 hours.

A Soup of Evil

There is something evil afoot. That’s not a unique statement in these times, but it’s the first time I’ve made it. It’s the first time I’ve felt like the forces of evil were not just scattered bits that could and would be censored out of society by the sheer revolting nature of their suggestions. It used to be good enough, in America, that when you spoke of admiration for Hitler/Pol Pot/Mao, that most people would stop listening to you. It was a sort of rudimentary canceling of its own, a stumbling block to the evil that would come later.

‘Reparations For Black America Already Happened,’ Black Scholar Tells Don Lemon

Via Billy

John H, McWhorter, Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, McWhorter is the author of a new book on black society, "Winning the Race: Beyond the Crisis in Black America" (Gotham 2006). He also wrote "Losing the Race" and an anthology of race writings, "Authentically Black. (Photo by James Leynse/Corbis via Getty Images)

Current discussions about “systemic racism” and “equity” ignore the fact that U.S. taxpayers already financed several multi-trillion-dollar programs of reparations beginning more than 50 years ago, an expert on civil rights told Don Lemon on Tuesday night.

The bill for “slavery and Jim Crow” has already been paid, Columbia University English Professor John McWhorter told Lemon, a hardcore believer in “diversity, equity, and inclusion.” But that continuing payment makes up a part of U.S. social history “that we’re beginning to forget.”

CNN’s “Don Lemon Tonight” covered President Joe Biden’s speech on the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Massacre Tuesday night, noting that the Biden administration refused to answer whether it supports reparations for its survivors.

No, Texas Valedictorian, a Law Protecting Unborn Babies Doesn’t Kill Your Dreams

Paxton Smith, 18, spoke out against Texas’ new abortion law and the impact she said it would have on women, calling it a “decision that will affect the rest of their lives” that had been “made by a stranger.”

The fake media are all abuzz over a high school valedictorian who dumped her prepared speech to lash out against a Texas law that, starting in September, bans abortion after the unborn baby’s heartbeat is detected.

What no one’s pointing out is how the very premise of this speech is ridiculously dishonest.

You can watch the full speech here, but here’s the conclusion, where she summarizes her preposterous argument:

Church Carry Passes NC House

Senate Bill 43, enabling concealed handgun permit-holders to protect themselves in churches which are co-located with schools, passed the North Carolina House today by a vote of 70-38. It becomes the second bill to pass the NC House, which earlier passed House Bill 134.

At present, although concealed carry is lawful in churches, if the church sponsors a school, it becomes “educational property” where firearm carriage is a felony. As proposed, concealed carry would be permitted provided educational activities are not in session.

Particular thanks are due to Sen. Dan Britt (R-Columbus, Robseson) and Rep. Jeff McNeely (R-Iredell) for their efforts to protect religious institutions from increasingly numerous attacks by violent sociopaths.

Gun rights supporters should also thank Reps. Keith Kidwell (R-Beaufort, Craven), Jay Adams (R-Catawba), and Larry Pittman (R-Cabarrus) for their impassioned defense of the bill on the House floor. Opposition came from the usual suspects, particularly Marcia Morey (D-Durham) and Mary Belk (D-Mecklenburg). Belk has proven herself a vocal enemy of the Second Amendment and deserves the attention of gun voters in the 2022 elections.

S. 43 already passed through the NC Senate but, due to minor amendments in the House, will now return to the Senate for a concurrence vote. Presuming the bill clears both Republican-controlled chambers, it will almost certainly be vetoed by rabidly anti-gun Democrat Governor Roy Cooper.

Because Republicans lack the 3/5 majority needed to over-ride a veto, Democrat votes will be needed. S. 43 did indeed garner enough Democrat votes in both chambers to over-ride a veto…for now. Whether those Democrats will hold the line under pressure from Cooper, however, remains to be seen. Church carry failed in 2020 when several Democrats changed votes on the over-ride vote after having previously supported bill. Please monitor GRNC alerts for future activity.

Attorney: Capitol rioters being detained like terrorists – only worse

 Capitol breach 1 (Jan 2021)

Some of the rioters who breached the U.S. Capitol on January 6 are still being held by DC police – and in the words of the attorney representing one of them, they're being treated worse than the terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay.

As reported on Wednesday, federal prosecutors have dropped the criminal case against Christopher M. Kelly, a New York man who was accused of participating in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. It appears to be the first such move by the Justice Department in its sprawling prosecution of those involved in the breach.

The DC police aren't saying exactly how many of the rioters they have in custody – but in April, it was about 40. Among those is Richard Barnett, the man who was pictured putting his feet on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's desk that day. Barnett's attorney, Joseph McBride, tells One News Now the DC police are dropping the hammer on the rioters.

Former Fox Anchor Who Left Network Over ‘Liberalism’ Running for Arizona Governor

I admire President Trump. He gave up a lot to run for office. The onslaught of criticism, dishonest and destructive reporting kept people from hearing the good things he was doing for our economy, our security, and peace around the world,” she noted of the country’s 45 president.
A former Fox News anchor who left the network over its “liberalism” is running for Governor of Arizona as a Republican.Speaking to The Western Journal, Kari Lake was the Phoenix area’s top-rated news anchor before she resigned earlier this year over the establishment media’s liberal bias.
