Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott appear to have given up on trying to persuade Biden to secure the border.
Border crisis deepens as governors assert control
The governors of 20 states sent a letter to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris last month asking them to take immediate action to end the crisis at the southern border. The governors said the crisis is spilling over the border states into all of their states.
They claim that the Biden administration enticed undocumented immigrants to the border and incentivized illegal crossings with irresponsible rhetoric and by reversing the Trump administration's border security measures.

Former Attorney General William Barr reportedly called former President Trump’s false claims of election fraud “bullshit,” according to a new book on the final days of the Trump administration.
The revelation comes from the book “Betrayal,” authored by ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl. The book is set to be released in November.

A Republican House Intelligence Committee investigation has found China’s malign influence deepening across corporate America, including in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, agriculture, entertainment, media, finance, sports, and technology sectors, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) revealed Sunday.
The investigation is still ongoing, but Nunes — who announced the investigation on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo — said it has reached some preliminary conclusions.

Trump Lawyer Responds to Report That Manhattan Prosecutors are Considering ‘Highly Unusual’ Criminal Charges Against Trump Organization
“It looks like they are going to come down with charges against the company and that is completely outrageous,” Fischetti said. “I’ve been practicing for over 50 years and I’ve never seen a case like this where they would indict or charge an individual or a company on tax evasion for using a company car or company apartment and then tie it to the company that he is working for without any evidence that what he did benefited the company.”
Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers were informed Friday that the Manhattan district attorney’s office is considering criminal charges against the Trump Organization related to fringe benefits the company awarded a top executive, the New York Times reported.
