The Warrenton Pony Show: Oldest in America

Cooling down tent.

What a great time the three of us had after I told them I had been the V.P. and announcer in 1961, 60 years ago! I remember that I met a girl there from Richmond, whose name escapes me, though she evidently liked me because she used a ball point pen to write all over my trousers as the two of us sat together which was all the old announcer's stand would accommodate.  Everything else including the stables hasn't changed at all, though the hideous apartments in the background are new. Later on, I was her house-guest in Windsor Farms, Richmond and we got along quite well until she mentioned that when she got married she wanted all new furniture to which I replied I wanted family furniture, the older the better.  Strangely enough our relationship went downhill after that.

*Rice Smith, an old love of mine at her wedding in 1968 at their home Rideglea  Her parents were just delightful and Mr. Smith and I would have Bloody Mary's in the morning in the sun room. We were close and I remember when he congratulated me on pledging KA at Randolph-Macon in 1964. I was a constant visitor to their home in the late fifties and early sixties, but Vietnam interrupted our lives as it did so many.
*Rice  had two other sisters one younger and one older. Elizabeth the younger one, Rice and I would do many things together.  One day we went swimming and fishing though I don't remember in what order.  At any rate, when I went to change clothes I found a fish in my underwear and always called her 'Fishhead' since then. :) (The hot links tell the rest of the story.)

Governor Ducey, Legislature Take Strong Action To Stop Critical Race Theory

Arizona Gov. Ducey signs bill banning critical race theory from schools, state agencies

Governor Doug Ducey today took a decisive step to prohibit the concerning practice of critical race theory, the latest action in just the past week to prevent the teaching of critical race theory in Arizona public schools and other government entities. Together, these measures mean Arizona has implemented some of the best policies in the country to keep critical race theory out of Arizona classrooms and our government institutions.

Jewish FBI Agent Infiltrates Bible Study Group; Then Tries to Entrap Its Members (A Vietnamese)

Via Reborn "Another one the Fake B.I. attempted to set-up, a Vietnamese named Duong. He thought America was all about freedoms, too,as did many others. I think Duong suspected the Fakers were not to be trusted so did not participate but put them off by going thru legal channels."

The family of 27-year-old Fi Duong thought they escaped government oppression when they left Vietnam. They were wrong.

According to an FBI criminal complaint, Duong has been closely surveilled by the FBI for the past six months, including while he engaged in religious activity.

In conversations with undercover FBI agents, Duong held that he entered the Capitol on January 6th to film the events in a journalistic capacity. The man was a member of a Virginia-based Bible study group that Jewish Joint Terrorism Task Force special agent Jason Jankovitz decided to open up a domestic terror probe into.

Agents repeatedly tried and failed to snare Duong into a Molotov cocktail plot because he owned multiple empty glass bottles. They were not able to charge him for any explosives related crimes, but the New York Times and various other outlets are reporting him as a terrorist anyway.

A 102-year-old public statue of Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea was toppled in Charlottesville on Saturday after the city council voted unanimously to remove the historic monument.

It was too offensive.

Alarming New Evidence Could Indicate US Government Is Sabotaging Conservative Media

 Via 'Virginia'

Conservative media has long faced opposition from the left, most notably from Big Tech companies. A new report suggests some attacks may be coming from even higher.

Last week, Fox News host Tucker Carlson said on his show that the National Security Agency had obtained his private messages. On Wednesday, Axios added new details to the story.

It turns out that shortly before Carlson made the public accusations, he had reached out to Kremlin intermediaries in hopes of arranging an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Happy Land of Cannan

The happy land of Caannan may be a Biblical story, but for some of us, it truly was fact.

Growing up on the land my ancestors settled in the 1850s was a true blessing. It gave me common ground, a heritage, a place and, most importantly, a history. My people were among the first white settlers in the 1850s in the place now known as Newton County, Arkansas. My 5th Great Grandfather and his sons took residence here, although both he and most of his sons would move on South to other locations. My direct ancestor stayed here and fought through the war, survived an assassination attempt, and raised his children here that became my direct line.

What is China Buying in the Biden Administration?

Via Billy

The only way we can correct this situation is by exposing these people and showing U.S. citizens exactly what they are doing in our society. This is the job of responsible voices in the press, yet there is little evidence they are up to the challenge. Six years ago, the New York Times ran a 4,000-word front page story that confirmed the main assertions of the book, Clinton Cash. Yet, just before the 2020 election, the Times ran a piece by its "media reporter" bragging about their role as gatekeepers that would not pursue the Hunter Biden story. My goal and hope is that the next book will be the beginning of a broader effort to hold the press, as well as our political, business, and technology leaders accountable.

The simple fact is that there are large, powerful donors to the Biden campaign that have big financial stakes in these green energy companies. It is a wealth transfer to Biden's biggest bundlers, and that is a huge and massive problem.

For those companies with inside connections to the Biden campaign, it is American taxpayer money that is truly "shovel-ready."

Former congressmen and senators, and former US ambassadors are being paid large sums of money by governments such as China, or by firms directly linked to those governments, which do not have America's best interest at heart. They are lobbying in Washington to get their paymasters' voices heard.

If you invest a couple of million dollars, let us say, in lobbying, or you invest a couple of million dollars in campaign contributions, often you can get benefits that are worth ten times that.

For Wall Street and Silicon Valley, the prospect of doing deals in China is mesmerizing. To do those deals in China, as they have learned, you must play nice with the regime, speak well of them, feather their nests.... It is no less tempting for American politicians.... Of greatest concern are the deals that actually advance Chinese state interests.

Judicial Watch Files Lawsuit against the Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of Defense over Denied Promotion

Judicial Watch announced today that it has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Maj. Fred C. Galvin (USMC, Ret.), commander of an elite U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations unit falsely accused of war crimes in Afghanistan in 2007 and fully exonerated in 2019, but who was still denied retroactive promotion to lieutenant colonel by the Marine Corps in 2020 despite an otherwise exemplary service record.  The lawsuit was filed against the Acting Secretary of the Navy, Thomas Harker, and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. It alleges that the military violated the Administrative Procedure Act and another statute in denying Maj. Galvin a promotion (Maj. Fred Galvin v Thomas Harker et al, (No. 1:21-cv-01813)).

On March 4, 2007, Galvin and 29 members of the Marine Special Operations Company Foxtrot (Fox Company), the first combat unit of the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC), passed through the Afghan village of Bati Kot, near the Pakistan border, in a six-vehicle convoy. A suicide bomber driving a fuel and explosive-packed van approached the convoy at a high rate of speed. The van detonated, then fighters on both sides of the road opened fire on the convoy. Fox Company fought back and escaped, returning to their base with only one minor casualty. The Afghan government, numerous media outlets, and others falsely accused Maj. Galvin and the unit of war crimes in responding to the attack, and even the U.S. military, after a horribly flawed investigation, called for Galvin and six other Marines be charged with dereliction of duty and negligent homicide. Maj. Galvin was relieved of command, and Fox Company was redeployed out of Afghanistan.

A Country That Has Lost Its Way: U.S. Government and Corporations Combine to Strip Citizens of Their Rights

To be sure, one has to ask how Facebook knows that one has visited an “extremist” site since they have blocked such material. Are they somehow hacking into the personal accounts of their own users? The situation is dire, no doubt about it, but it has provoked a backlash, including this post: “Become the extremist Facebook warned you about!” One also has to wonder how Facebook will deal with individuals who complain about some other groups with a demonstrated history of promoting violence, including black lives matter, that are not white supremacist related. It will almost certainly do nothing, just like the federal government’s demonstrated “racially sensitive” supine response to a year of riot, burning, looting and homicide. In truth Americans are standing at the edge of a precipice with just one more “crisis” possibly coming that will tip everyone over the edge so we wind up with a totalitarian government which works hard to keep everyone safe by doing the opposite. We are almost there, and if you doubt it just go take a look at Facebook.

The Biden Administration is calling on Americans to spy on friends, neighbors and family and reporting any “extremist” views to the authorities.

The American people have increasingly become aware that government surveillance and corporate censorship have combined to keep people ignorant and controlled. What is taking place has generated some dark humor. A friend of mine, also a former CIA officer, wrote to me recently and said tongue-in-cheek that he retains a lot of respect for the Agency because it is the only major government national security entity that does not read our mail and emails. Those jobs are the responsibility of the NSA and FBI. I responded that I would imagine that CIA does in fact read quite a lot of mail where it operates overseas but it is probably done the old-fashioned way by recruiting an underpaid mail clerk as an agent.

150 Years Since the Paris Commune: “A Nation Divided by a Furrow of Blood”

Religious Persecution, the Forgotten Aspect of an Episode That Became an Icon of the Left

On Saturday, May 29, 2021, Catholic parishes in the 20th district of Paris organized a pilgrimage to honor the memory of Archbishop Georges Darboy, several priests and other religious killed by members of the Paris Commune in 1871. The historic episode became known as the “Haxo Street Massacre.” About 300 faithful Catholics, priests and religious took part in the pilgrimage/procession, led by the auxiliary bishop, Most Rev. Denis Jachiet.

The destination of the 2.5-mile procession was the parish of Our Lady of Hostages. The church marks the spot where, 150 years earlier, forty-nine hostages, including ten men religious, were shot by Communards—the atheist, anticlerical activists of the Commune. No sooner had the procession started than passersby and people sitting at tables in open-air cafes began to jeer and insult the faithful.
