'I have the right to protect myself:' Washington man shoots, kills suspected home burglar

A resident shot and killed a home intruder in Spanaway early Thursday, and a second suspect escaped, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies said the 31-year-old resident, Jerahme Smith, shot at two men who tried to break into his house near A St. E. and 165th St. E. around 4:00 a.m.

The homeowner told police he shot at the suspects as they kicked in his back door. The intruders then ran into the front yard where deputies later found one of the suspects dead. The other suspect ran off.

Another Lawsuit Holds The Key To Trump’s Best Defense Against The Jan. 6 Committee

Once in focus, one can see there is a strong interest in preserving executive privilege, and none in pushing a partisan dog and donkey show trial.

Because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi failed to appoint the requisite number of members, the Jan. 6 committee is arguably invalid under its own authorizing resolution.

Yesterday, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected former President Donald Trump’s claim of executive privilege, holding that the archivist of the United States could provide a tranche of Trump’s presidential records to the House’s “Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.”

In a unanimous ruling, the federal appellate court concluded that President Biden’s conclusion that “an assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States” controlled and that the archivist, therefore, must hand over the first of three sets of documents requested. The court added, however, that it would await an assessment from the Biden administration before determining whether other sets of documents must likewise be handed over.

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America

Mitch McConnell, the Broken Old Crow, has just conceded, for absolutely nothing and for no reason, the powerful Debt Ceiling negotiating block, which was the Republicans’ first-class ticket for victory over the Democrats. He was afraid to play that card even though, without question, they would have completely FOLDED on the Build Back Worse Bill, which will destroy the fabric of our Country and virtually anything else that the Republicans wanted. It should have been used on the Unfrastructure Deal also.

Proudly, House Republicans voted 100% like true patriots (Kinzinger, in my mind, is not a Republican!). The Old Crow also allowed a breaking up of the filibuster, which allows the Democrats now to establish precedent for changing the number of Justices on the Supreme Court and, perhaps most importantly of all, a so-called Voting Rights Bill, which will make it almost impossible for Republicans to get elected in the future. He lost two seats in Georgia, didn’t fight for the presidency, and now gave away our most powerful negotiating tool—the Debt Ceiling. Other than fundraising, where he buys senatorial support, the Broken Old Crow is a loser, and very bad for the Republican Party!

The Visitor.

Jackson Daniel's had himself a cabin deep in the Smoky Mountains. He had retired there looking for peace and the quietness that only a remote cabin could provide. He had lost his wife about ten years before he retired. Broke his heart. It was not long after that, he'd decided to buy the cabin.
Upon his retirement, he sold up and moved to the mountains.

In the evenings, after supper, he would sit on his porch with a cup of coffee and his harmonica and play his favorite tunes. One night he had the distinct feeling that he was being watched. He kept playing and after a while, a wolf appeared. He noticed that it was limping pretty bad. The wolf sat down about thirty yards away and as it did, Jackson noticed that he was holding one paw off the ground.

Jackson slipped inside the cabin and returned with two bowls. One filled with water and the other one was filled with the leftover stew from his supper. He placed them on the ground about ten yards from his porch.

"Come on old boy, it's all yours." He said softly then sat back in his chair.

After several minutes, the wolf limped over to the bowls. Keeping his eyes on Jackson, he ate the food and drank the all water.

"Come back tomorrow for supper." He told the wolf.

For three days the wolf came back for the meal Jackson had laid out, each time a few feet closer to the cabin.

Jackson would talk to him all the while and each day the wolf would linger longer.

On the fourth day, Jackson placed the bowls on the porch. The wolf limped right up to them and ate.

When he had finished, Jackson coaxed the animal over to him. Slowly the wolf crept closer. Jackson held out his hand and the wolf sniffed it and sat down beside him.

Jackson quietly took the injured paw and found a thorn in it.

"Let me get that out old boy."

After a couple of minutes, the thorn was removed.

That trust in each other formed a bond between them. Pretty soon, that old wolf would not leave Jackson's side. The two became best friends which would last about six years. When the wolf passed away, Jackson laid him to rest in the front yard. In the evenings, Jackson would play his harmonica for his old friend.....Ahhh The Beautiful hillbilly life in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
