But today he was talking about race. He was questioning why some people (especially Black Lives Matter) are making a big deal about race. He said he did not understand and that it confused him. He is confused because he was always color blind, but it is the left that is dividing us by race, sex, age, religion, and every other way they can. It is his buddies who are in the wrong. I think he realizes it at some level and does not want to face it. I have faith that more and more people like him with begin to open their eyes. And, you know, God can do that kind of stuff. We lost everything in 1840, then again in 1865, and now, it all looms again, this time with the specter of a division of the nation. To be honest it will impoverish me, and my children, as we were all military, and thus it is our only income. I don’t fret as much for myself as for them and the grandkids. Given a small patch of land and a shotgun I can survive just like the family did back then. But it seems so damnably unfair for the younger ones to see it all pissed away by feckless politicians. Yet, that is what we all did, so just as so many of our founding fathers we may have to endure whatever comes.

I’m reading a book on the Soviet invasion of Finland in 1940. Communists, working inside like teredo worms, eating away at the ship of state, there as here. The author mentions the civil war they had, Red against White, and the bitterness and atrocities of it. That’s a constant in civil war, ours included. The utter bitterness and hatred engendered by fighting against neighbors, in our history books all that is largely glossed over or simply excised entirely. We’ll see that first IMO, violence, warfare, no large pitched battles but 1860’s Kansas and Kentucky writ large. The “State” and their lackeys against all who oppose it.

Beans, bullets, seeds and shovels, get them while you can. God willing we will use the seeds and shovels, eat the beans and not have to use the bullets, but best to have them on hand.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
