From 1936 until 1951 the US Army made 116 major or minor changes to both the dress and field uniform. It was so confusing , and there were so many "approved" uniforms ,that by 1953 it was entirely possible to stand a platoon formation and have no two men dressed the same! Some of the herringbone twill uniforms were made in such vast quantity that they were still in use early in the Vietnam war. (there is a great photo of Lt. Col. Hal Moore at the first battle of the I Drang in November 1965, dressed in a set of M-1948 Herringbone twills. The same pattern uniform he wore in Korea 23 years earlier) The uniform boards have been at this for a LONG time. I don't see it stopping anytime soon....RayAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7566715115931065803.post-38325125958373569732015-06-11T14:45:35.518-04:002015-06-11T14:45:35.518-04:00The US Army has a board of Colonels called the Arm... The US Army has a board of Colonels called the Army uniform board. If they aren't making up new uniforms every year, they don't have anything to do. They cannot accept that they are not the mpost important people in the Army and this isn't the most important job of their careers. Also, there is big research money being spent to develop the perfect camo pattern (as if one exists).

More waste.Brock Townsendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11404173139501539265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7566715115931065803.post-45399105729512941532015-06-11T14:44:57.476-04:002015-06-11T14:44:57.476-04:00IF congress gives the military everything on "...IF congress gives the military everything on "the wish list".

Fat chance.Brock Townsendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11404173139501539265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7566715115931065803.post-66027020719615797182015-06-11T13:26:52.516-04:002015-06-11T13:26:52.516-04:00Oh, GEEZE! BUELLER??

Only half our country is "woodlands" and for half the year, it ain't green. The other half is brown all year round (with patches of white).

What is really going on: The US Army has a board of Colonels called the Army uniform board. If they aren't making up new uniforms every year, they don't have anything to do. They cannot accept that they are not the mpost important people in the Army and this isn't the most important job of their careers. Also, there is big research money being spent to develop the perfect camo pattern (as if one exists). Army big cheezes all like to wear the most modern camo patterns that your money can buy. It is a status symbol. hell, even the Navy has a stupid blue cammo pattern. If you fall into the ocean, you ought to be wearing something orange, not digi-camo blue. if you are on the ship and the enemy is close enough to see you, they can already see the ship you are on.

The fact is: most cammo patterns are all equally effective in the woods.

Finally, If you are going to war in a city against a civilian population, shouldn't you be dressed in blue jeans and hooded black sweat shirts? Just saying. Any digicam uniform sort of stands out in an asphalt jungle or suburb.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7566715115931065803.post-3567978904520187462015-06-11T12:38:18.619-04:002015-06-11T12:38:18.619-04:00Its a crude monkey copy of multicam , a pattern th...Its a crude monkey copy of multicam , a pattern that only works well in arid climates. In fact they(the army) will field "tropical",(wet and dry season) European (winter and summer), desert, as well as the current pattern, because a true "universal pattern" is impossible; And then only IF congress gives the military everything on "the wish list". This is just more "Jade Helm" internet paranoia by the "know nothing about it's"---RayAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
