No way, I'll let them bite me if I could help it. Cops carry non-lethal items though and that is why this is questionable.Brock Townsendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11404173139501539265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7566715115931065803.post-63937625677851747082014-02-11T23:48:07.770-05:002014-02-11T23:48:07.770-05:00An old story...but I had two strange Rotts charge ...An old story...but I had two strange Rotts charge at me in my own yard. As I backed away and they continued to advance, I winged one of them with a 9mm. Was I supposed to let them get to me? I think not.

Not exactly the same deal as here, but you get my drift.

Seems to me the cop made no effort to diffuse the situation, where as I was on my own property and backed away from the oncoming threat.

Lord knows I'm no ardent defender of cops, but dogs properly restrained and this (and my experience) probably wouldn't have happened.

My 2 cents...Walter Zoomiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18439931516202804834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7566715115931065803.post-88094412811924954692014-02-11T18:41:30.020-05:002014-02-11T18:41:30.020-05:00Yes, that is what I meant.Yes, that is what I meant.Brock Townsendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11404173139501539265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7566715115931065803.post-9800912267134263252014-02-11T18:30:12.901-05:002014-02-11T18:30:12.901-05:00Exactly or at the most tazzed him. I've got some advice for him and all other cops. If you're afraid of dogs you should consider another line of work. I would have knelt down and made friends with the dog who was only trying to protect his family from what he perceived (rightly so) as a threat. God help me, there's no telling how I'd react if he shot my dog like that.

When I was about 10 years old the son of a migrant worker on our farm kicked my dog into an irrigation pond. I shoved the kid in right behind the dog. The kid yelled
I can't swim. My reply? "you should have thought about that before you kicked my dog". I know that little SOB figured out how to get out of that pond on his own 'cause I sure as hell didn't help him.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
