First Witnesses Called for House Hearings on Benghazi
Via Don
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has written to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to call two witnesses for its October 10 hearings on what went wrong at the diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya.
Per the committee, they are:
· “Regional Security Officer Eric Nordstrom was stationed in Libya from September 2011 to June 2012. The Department of State provided Mr. Nordstrom to the Committee for a briefing, where he confirmed for the Committee the security incidents cited in the letter, and confirmed that the mission in Libya made security requests.
· “Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs Charlene Lamb is an official in Washington is involved in reviewing security requests.”

Today, a Defense Department official confirmed to Breitbart News that there is advance planning for a “substantial air package” against targets in Libya. Military sources suggest that this means that flight missions against Libyan targets will include manned flights, not merely drones.
The New York Times reported yesterday that the Obama administration is preparing an operation to “kill or capture militants” involved in the Benghazi attack resulting in the murder of our ambassador to Libya and three other Americans. According to the Times, the Joint Special Operations Command is putting together “so-called target packages of detailed information about the suspects.” These files are a coordinated project with the CIA and the Pentagon.

Virginia Flaggers at Sharpsburg!
MANY MORE PICTURES @ Susan Frise Hathaway
On Saturday, September 29th, the
Virginia Flaggers traveled to Sharpsburg to attend the Georgia Civl War
Commission's Re-Dedication of the Monument to Georgia's Confederate
Dead. We arrived early in the morning, as it was the first visit to Sharpsburg for all of us. We started with a tour of the visitor's center and then headed across to the Dunker Church. There, we were happy to find a contingency of Georgia Confederates who had camped out the night before. We made some new friends, and enjoyed meeting these fine men.
We continued with a tour of the battlefield on foot, with flags, and made our way back around to the Visitor's center for a picnic lunch. Throughout the day, we had many opportunities to talk with visitors about our flags and the Va Flaggers. We distributed literature and educated folks about the flags we were carrying. Flagging a National Battlefield is fun...kinda like shooting fish in a barrel, for a Flagger! ;)
After lunch we headed over to the monument, and planted 56 Georgia Stick Flags on any marker that mentioned Georgia troops, as well as at the monument.
The ceremony was very beautiful, with a color guard, excellent speaker, and gun salute. We asked the members of the commission if they could PLEASE come up to Virginia and teach our commission a thing or two about how to commemorate the Sesquicentennial!
After the ceremony, we headed over to the sunken lane, to tour that area, and pay respects to the men who died there. We were moved at the sights, and again, had the opportunity to share about the flags we carried.
We concluded the trip with a visit to Burnside's Bridge and the Robert E Lee Monument.
Special thanks to Kelly Barrow for the invitation to the event, and to the Georgia Civil War Commission for a job very well done!

Behead All Those Who Insult Free Speech
Via WRSA
Hey, how about one of my heroes, General Loan, to the rescue? You want to behead us, how about we strike first?
South Vietnamese sources attested that Lém commanded a Vietcong death squad, which on that day had murdered South Vietnamese National Police officers, or in their stead, the police officers' families; these sources said that Lém was captured near the site of a ditch holding as many as thirty-four bound and shot bodies of police and their relatives, some of whom were the families of Loan's deputy, and six of whom were Nguyễn's godchildren.
The only appropriate response of free-born peoples to such a statement is: **** off, ******.
Free speech is not in the gift of minor Swedish timeserving hack bureaucrats, either to grant or withdraw.
Where is the “respect”, by the way, in “Behead the enemies of Islam”? Under the not so subtle evolution of “free speech” advanced by the likes of Obama and Eliasson, you’ll be shackled by “respect” and “the need to avoid provocations” but kindergartners will still be able to parade around the local park demanding “Behead all those who insult the Prophet.”
In the end, the one-way multiculturalism of craven squishes like Eliasson will destroy our world.
Nuts to him and to the U.N.

Encouraged by President Obama’s and Secretary Clinton’s prostrations before the howling mob, the U.N.’s No. 2 honcho explains free speech:
Free speech is a “gift given to us by the [Universal] Declaration of Human Rights,” said Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Jan Eliasson during a press conference on October 2nd at UN headquarters in New York. It is “a privilege,” Eliasson said, “that we have, which in my view involves also the need for respect, the need to avoid provocations.”Free speech is a gift given to us in 1948 by U.N. officials? Who knew?

As I discuss in my syndicated column this week, the Welfare State perpetuates poverty.
As I discuss in my syndicated column this week, the Welfare State perpetuates poverty.
"There are no jobs!" That is what people told me outside a government "jobs center" in New York City.
To check this out, I sent four researchers around the area. They quickly found 40 job openings. Twenty-four were entry-level positions. One restaurant owner told me he would hire 12 people if workers would just apply.
It made me wonder what my government does in buildings called "job centers." So I asked a college intern, Zoelle Mallenbaum, to find out. Here's what she found:
"First I went to the Manhattan Jobs Center and asked, "Can I get help finding a job?" They told me they don't do that. ‘We sign people up for food stamps.' I tried another jobs center. They told me to enroll for unemployment benefits."
So the "jobs" centers help people get handouts. Neither center suggested people try the 40 job openings in the neighborhood. But some people, like my college intern, don't want the handout:
"I wanted a job. I was told to go to ‘WorkForce1,' a New York City program... Finally, I met with an ‘adviser.' She told me I lacked experience. I know this. I asked for any job she thought I was qualified for, and she scheduled an interview at Pret, a food chain that trains employees. At Pret, I learned that my ‘interview' was just a weekly open house, publicized on the company's website. Anyone could walk in and apply. Workforce1 offered no advantage. Despite my ‘scheduled interview,' I waited 90 minutes before meeting a manager. He told me that WorkForce1 had ‘wasted my time, as they always do.' He said, ‘They never call, never ask questions.' He prefers to hire people who seek out jobs on their own, like those who see Pret ads on Craigslist.'"For more on how the government encourages dependency, the rest of my column here.
Excellent: New England’s Mission of Enlightenment
Lincoln had it in his power to end his war upon the American people in the South and return the two country’s to a peaceful condition. Facing an unpopular war and dwindling enlistments, he resorted to the same incitement of slave insurrection as Lord Dunmore, Royal Governor of Virginia in 1775, did in order to defeat the American colonists bid for political independence. As George III used Hessians against the colonists, Lincoln’s emissaries scoured Ireland and Europe for soldiers kill Americans for bounties and eleven dollars a month.

"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"
New England’s Mission of Enlightenment:
“The war grows. It becomes gigantic and absorbs all the insane energy of a notion of [Yankee] peddlers and shopkeepers. Reeling and tottering under the enormous blows of the South, the Northern Emperor has steadied himself by the very weight of the burdens heaped on him…..Curious is that people, curious the whole conformation of the Yankee mind. Crazy with the lust for blood---soulless as the hyena, tearing up the very bodies of the dead---mad with rage at the rich empire torn from their grasp---they fight with blind thirst for blood and spoil, closing their eyes obdurately on the inevitable Fate.
Whipped, disgraced, laughed at; degraded before all the world and stamped as bully and boaster---the Falstaff and Pistol combined, of history---that race essays a last and desperate expedient; decreeing war to the knife, and the knife to the hilt---a war in which a whole people shall fight.
Future ages will stand aghast at the madness which made a Baboon, Dictator---and yielded to the clutch of the grimacing animal the purse and the sword of a whole nation. To a commonplace person the act looks dangerous---but our Northern friends have a wondrous stock of generous and confiding simplicity. It is true that he “bastilles” his subjects occasionally, and the public good requires measures apparently harsh; but then all is for the cause, and the cause is holy---the emancipation of their fellow creatures, and the reestablishment of the glorious Union. The glorious Union is so glorious a thing that all is pardoned in its glorious defender. So the Emperor reigns, and holds the purse and the sword; and his dynasty is established in the “Great City.”
Will his billions of money and millions of recruits do any good however? They could conquer us so easily with 75,000 men we were once told---leaving 25,000 at Washington, not to protect it, but because they we not needed. Two years have brought them opposite Fredericksburg---the path is marked out be half a million graves. How many of the new millions be buried in Virginia? It is safe to say the number will not be small.
Why do these people put themselves to the trouble of coming down to get themselves killed? Did they always hate us, as Randolph of Roanoke used to think and say, and be regarded as a snarling cynic for his pains? Do they really love the Negro, and actually think that the old government was an empire, and not a Federation of Sovereigns? Do they honestly believe that Virginia became a province when she declared herself a “free and independent State”---or abdicated her God-given sovereignty in ’88 when she signed the Federal Constitution? If she did, her act is null and void. For no generation can barter sovereignty, and divest their posterity of that priceless treasure, any more than men can decree their grandchildren to be bondslaves. The very thought would be sacrilege. For the sovereignty of States like human freedom is the gift of God, not of man, and sacred.
They are going to turn the slaves loose on us. They are making black regiments. The last device of hell is openly employed---the arming of slaves and incitement to servile insurrection. The civilized world has protested in the name of God and man against this enormity---has branded it as the most colossal crime of which a government can be guilty. But Europe is very far off, and the Washington government has not much character to lose. So it enrolls its Negroes---it invites its colored friends to resume their freedom; without unnecessary violence, if possible; but to resume it.
The Chasseurs D’Afrique are already enrolled; and a regiment is on the soil of Virginia---at Winchester. This advanced guard of liberated warriors is supported by reserves of Dutch, Irish, German, and other foreign patriots who fight upon the broad principle of eleven dollars a month and rations. They, like their master at Washington, have little doubt that the worn out and cowardly race of the Old Dominion will yield to them without much fighting; and that “booty and beauty” will crown their virtuous exertions, and reward them for all their hardships and privations. Worthy gentlemen! Picturesque mixture of slaves and jailbirds---of Dutch and Irish and Negroes and Yankees!
The “great New England race” descended from the “Pilgrim fathers” famed in song and story is in its mission of enlightenment and civilization to the barbarous nations of the South. They come as of old, in the early days, with the peaceful arguments of the sword and musket---and if these mild instruments of persuasion fail, they have ironclads and rifled hundred-pounders to speak further in their behalf.”

NC: Beware Of The Energy Conservation Code ‘Tsunami’
This building code was passed by the legislature in the State, but did not originate there. It was created by the Building Code Council and based on the International Code Council. Within this construct is something called the NCECC ( North Carolina Energy Conservation Code) that regulates energy conservation in new construction. This NCECC edict was funded by the Federal Department of Energy (DOE). The book on this 2012 Building Code can be bought here. The first line of the description states: “The 2012 North Carolina Building Code is based on the 2009 International Building Code.”
Can you tell where this is going? The mandates in this NC 2012 Building Code, according to my businessman friend, are draconian. One example he gave to me was the requirement for higher cost, higher temperature containment insulation for even the simplest buildings such as he creates for his customers. Why is that draconian? Because it causes costs of these buildings (using a pun) to go through the roof!! This prices out some of his customers. Either he eats the increase or the customer eats it. Both ways, this is bad for business viability. (stating the obvious) Could the marketplace decide this on its own? Yes. Could there be options? Yes. But no….the Code is a mandate. Building and Construction businesses will have no options. They are told what they must sell. Customers are told what they must buy.

State Dems Introduce Bill To Effectively Kill Concealed Carry
VERBATIM
Bill Patmon and Ted Celeste, two Ohio Democrat State Representatives are co-sponsoring a bill, HB595, which would essentially reverse the current law.
According to the bill it is
“to generally prohibit a person from having a firearm on privately owned land or premises unless the person owns, controls, or resides on or in the land or premises, has permission of the owner or person who controls the land or premises and, if the land or premises is rental property, of the tenant when required, or is the tenant with respect to those premises.”It “applies to any person, including a concealed handgun licensee.”
The current law allows a person to carry concealed on private property unless there is a sign that prohibits law-abiding Concealed Carry Weapon permit (CCW) holders to stay out. The new bill would now require CCW licensees to obtain permission from any and all properties that they would step foot on with their weapon.
It would also require non-tenants on rented or leased property to also obtain permission before venturing onto property with a firearm.
With this piece of legislation, one could not enter a business, a residence or any private property with their weapons unless they had obtained oral or written permission from the owner to do so.
Why would this effectively kill concealed carry? Consider that a person might visit more than a dozen different homes and places of business during the day. Also consider the fact that it restricts the Constitution’s Second Amendment right to not only keep but bear arms.
Persons and businesses who agree with CCW being allowed on their property or place of business could provide blanket authorization in the form of a sign posted on the property, but it really is unnecessary considering the law of the land, the US Constitution provides that right in the first place.
Rep Patmon had already submitted further legislation earlier this year in June that would
“prohibit any person from storing or leaving a firearm in the person’s residence unless the firearm is secured in safe storage or rendered inoperable by a tamper-resistant lock or other safety device if the person knows or reasonably should know that a minor is able to gain access to the firearm and to provide criminal penalties if a minor gains unauthorized access to a firearm not so stored or rendered inoperable.”My question to those of you in Ohio is “Why are you putting up with such people are your representatives?”

Debate!
VERBATIM
There will be an interesting debate tonight, or so I hear.
On one side, a Leninist Marxist will try to convince the audience that the economy is not crap, that my food and gas bill has not doubled, and that, in general, the only problems with the last four years were caused by those damned kulaks.
On the other side, a demonstrated and proven Trotskyite Marxist will try to dress up his firm record of Marxist and collectivist policies and market it to a population that is increasingly angry, frustrated, and tired of more and more government. "Riding the wave", so to speak. He and his brand of collectivism will appeal to many, mainly because he has a shiny "R" after his name.
Both men will claim that they, as POTUS, will have "the answers" to our country's ills, thus proving decisively their lack of understanding as to the nature of our problems.
Afterwards, both sides of the Marxist aisle will claim victory and trumpet their virtues, while lambasting the others' shortfalls...
Although if their actions while in political office are a guide, there is little real difference between them.
They are both trying to sell collectivist Marxism to you. They are trying to give you a problem, and make you pay for the solution.
They are both claiming to "have the answers", although they are both firmly in "part of the problem" territory.
Meh.
What I want to hear from these men, that they will do as much as possible to dismantle government, will not happen.
That would be my promise if I were ever to put myself in those shoes.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I will spend the entirety of my term seeking out, identifying, and ruthlessly destroying those parts of government that intrude in your lives or that encourage you not to take responsibility for yourself."
End of debate. Candidate AP walks off stage.
I have to lift heavy pieces of steel off the floor tonight, read with the kids, and take a walk with the wife.
There's just too much to do to spend the night on my rear end listening to two unrepentant liars.

The Socialist Triad Comes to America
Via Bernhard
“Fortunately,
socialist ownership of the tools of production proved so inefficient
that it only served as a placard for selling income confiscation and
redistribution to the “have-nots” of the underclass and a few utopian
eggheads. However, the fundamental goal of socialism remains unaltered:
the ownership of the hearts and minds and souls of mankind by a global
world order of socialist states controlled by a self-appointed
directorate.
Representative
democracies have long since been transformed into centralized powers
with perpetual incumbents and self-serving bureaucracies, answerable
only to the cabal of international financiers and the high priests of
the media and academia. In their envisioned global network of states,
they are the true parent of the child, the husband of the unmarried
mother, the equalizer of wealth, (other than that which is controlled by
the governing directorate), and the provider of first and last resort.
Consummating
the union of Marxist doctrine and the modern state through the
government-sponsored eradication of the family, religion, and private
productive property, they have produced the nuclear individual, who is
left with no alternative but to depend on the benevolence of government.
So we find that socialism alive and well, despite the setbacks caused
by communism’s failed attempt to reach the same goal. The possibility
of recovering the limited government bequeathed to us by the Founding
Fathers has likely long vanished.
The Marxist invasion of American public education, communications, and religion that was launched back in the mid-19th
century has enabled a lethal assault on our culture and heritage. But
the road to socialism in the United States has also been paved with a
fundamental reversal of the nature of public finance and the scale of
centralized federal government. The Founding Fathers….prescribed
indirect taxation….[a] basis for a limited funding of central government
[which] was directly contradicted by the Communist Manifesto, which
sought to tax personal income, corporate income, and inheritances.
It
was Abraham Lincoln who succeeded in adopting this triad of Marxist
taxation during the Civil War. Before the end of the war, the Supreme
Court found all three of these to be unconstitutional, and the only
Lincoln-imposed taxes that survived were excises on spirits and tobacco.
As
of 1913, total expenditures for federal, State, and local governments
in the United States consumed only one-twelfth of the output of the U.S.
economy. That was the year that the Progressive Republicans, led by
William Howard Taft (a “conservative icon”) and Theodore Roosevelt,
adopted the socialist triad, which would not become law until 1916, when
the States ratified the 16th Amendment.
The 16th
Amendment enabled socialism, but it was the Great Depression, as
handled by Roosevelt, that fundamentally instituted socialism here in
the United States. The “Great Society” proposed by John F. Kennedy and
implemented by Lyndon B. Johnson was the culmination of a true American
socialist welfare state of the Swedish model designed by Alva and Gunnar
Myrdal. Social security and Medicare, together with pensions and other
personal resources, created the individual aged, who no longer needed
to depend on the care of their children and grandchildren, thus severing
the ties between generations.”

Sam's story
Via WRSA
Sam wrapped the old rifle in an olive drab shelter half and secured it
with jute twine and rubber bands. This rifle he had saved. This rifle
he kept, off the books against the laws written down. Over the years
ammunition became ever more expensive, and ammunition components became
harder and harder to purchase.
Sam plucked vegetation and stuck it through the rubber bands, breaking up the outline of the wrapped rifle, camouflaging the package to the unaided eye. There wasn't much Sam could do about thermals, but this far into the forest thermals were hardly better than line of sight. The tall evergreens dripped with dew, and the sun shown down on in small patches, almost accidentally illuminating the forest floor.
The bullet molds lasted a long time though, and Sam had been making bullets for years. They weren't as streamlined as copper jacketed projectiles, but for 300 meters and under they were every bit as accurate, and at all ranges they were every bit as deadly. Aluminum cans had been punched and formed into gas checks, not as good as commercial copper but untraceable. Spent primers scavenged from the thugs machine gun range were carefully reclaimed, and filled with match head compound, good for short range work. Others were using primers imported from Canada, but Sam didn't know anyone with connections to the underground.
Sam had "acquired" a few trays of primers from the aftermath of a raid by the thugs. An old man who never hurt anyone had a couple bricks of "milspec" primers that didn't get logged into evidence. Over the course of a few such raids Sam had brought home a "whack a mole" reloading set in the appropriate caliber for his lonely illegal rifle. After that it was simple to develop a load that shot well with the wheel weight lead bullets.
Sam wistfully wished he were as well supplied as the resistance fighters seemed to be. At this stage in the game people who weren't friends with Sheriff's Deputies weren't trying to become friends. Sam didn't care much though, so far no one had shot at him and he had managed to "not find" several of the firearms that the thugs had assured him were registered to residents in his county. But still, it was a hard time to be a cop.

Some of you may remember CSM Basil Plumley as the larger than life soldier who helped lead men to battle in the movie We Were Soldiers. He is a real person, and a genuine hero.
CSM Plumley served bravely and honorably in Vietnam, most notably alongside the cavalrymen who fought in the Ia Drang in 1965. My good friend Joe Galloway was there. So, too, was the legendary Hal Moore. Those three emerged from combat as lifelong friends who are known as Los Tres Amigos.
Now Basil Plumley is ill. Joe says he is in hospice.
Please take a moment to say a prayer for CSM Plumley. And also send a card thanking him, one last time, for his service, and wishing him well. Let's give him a good sendoff.

Congressman challenges USDA to follow own school lunch restrictions
Via Don
Kansas Republican Tim Huelskamp issued a challenge to the U.S. Department of Agriculture
on Tuesday: Adopt the same calorie restrictions and menu standards in the department’s cafeterias as the USDA now requires in the nation’s public schools.
While students
pick at their vegetables, USDA’s cafeteria menus
are loaded with unhealthy options for government employees — from pesto
chicken pizza to BLTs with cheddar cheese, Cuban pork paninis to Philly
steak subs, cheeseburgers to French toast.
“If the USDA demands that 100,000 school
districts change their menus and justifies this mandate because schools
receive federal money for lunches, then taxpayers should demand that
the USDA cafeteria meet the same standards, as USDA operates in
taxpayer-funded buildings,” Huelskamp challenged Tuesday afternoon.
“Let’s see if they eat enough to function. Let’s see if they like having
choices taken away from them.”

Obama’s Promotion of Racial Hatred Exposed

Prior to the video’s release, many media outlets speculated that
the speech in question was the one delivered by Obama in 2007
at Hampton University, a historically black college located in Virginia.
Furthermore, some media sources decided that the speech had already
been shown in full, that there was nothing controversial about it, or that a rebroadcast of it could be construed as “race-baiting” by a conservative news outlet.
While the speech in question was the one delivered at Hampton University, as Daily Caller editor-in-chief explained to Fox News’ Sean Hannity, who broadcast some of the video, some of the most revealing aspects of the speech had not been heard before, and the media had reported on what was in the transcript of the speech, despite the fact that the president ad-libbed the most incendiary remarks (at length).
Last night, on the eve of the first and perhaps most important debate
between President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney, the Daily Caller
released the first “October surprise” of the 2012 election in the form
of an unedited 2007 video of Obama speaking at Hampton University.
Dubbed by the Drudge Report and the Daily Caller as “Obama’s Other Race
Speech,” the video promised to show the President describing America, in
the Daily Caller’s words, “as a racist, zero-sum society, in which the
white majority profits by exploiting black America.” Indeed, the raw
footage of Obama exposes odious racial hatred and demagoguery more
befitting Rev. Jeremiah Wright than a mainstream political candidate.
Moreover, far from conforming to the persona the President has marketed
to the public over the last several years, the ideology put forth in the
video more closely parallels what we know of Obama’s radical
pre-presidential life.

The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence (sic) - the group formerly known as the Legal Community Against Violence or LCAV - is holding an event entitled Truth Telling: The Media’s Role in the Conversation on Guns on October 25th. It will be held at the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
Notice that little disclaimer about "the right to refuse admittance"? This means that if they know you are associated with gun rights you are to be excluded from their little soiree. They don't want their worldview tainted by dissenting questions.
Josh Berger, a director of the CalGuns Foundation, had purchased tickets to this event. You can guess what he had waiting in the mail for him when he returned from the Gun Rights Policy Conference in Orlando. It was not the tickets he had ordered but rather a refund of his money with the note below.

Following an hors d’oeuvres and wine reception, a diverse group of journalists from local and national news outlets will share their perspective on the role the media plays in the national conversation on guns, particularly in an election year.
As the “information age” has become incredibly fast-moving and complex, the media’s power to inform, educate, and persuade has also grown. Meanwhile, the topic of gun violence in America remains complicated and fueled by passionate beliefs from all sides.
What are some of the challenges journalists and news agencies face when trying to tell the truth about America’s gun laws? What impact does the national political debate have on the media’s approach to this issue? How is “new media” affecting the way in which this conversation is cultivated?
Please join us to find out the answers to these questions and more. Come and ask your own questions for our panelists!
JOINING THE PANEL:Unfortunately, the former LCAV really doesn't want to hear anything other than their version of "the truth" as told by sycophantic reporters.

We have posted the latest monthly issue of the North Carolina Crime Report by Suspected Illegal Aliens on our website; www.NCFIRE.info. This report covers crimes by suspected illegal aliens in NC for the month of September.
This month we focused on Cabarrus, Guilford, Johnston, Chatham, Mecklenburg, Durham, Rockingham and Brunswick Counties. It is over 200 pages long and can be viewed online as a pdf file here: http://ncfire.info/september2012.pdf.
The amount of monthly crimes by suspected illegal aliens in NC is staggering. These crimes are not compiled in any statewide database and that tends to make the problem look smaller than it really is. By issuing these reports, our goal is to draw attention to the size and scope of the problem in NC. This is not ALL of the crimes by suspected illegal aliens in NC and we do not report every crime, in every county, each month. There is simply not enough time to enter it all! That is the magnitude of the problem we are facing.
You can view the past 3 years worth of monthly NC crime reports on our "Crime Report Archives" page here: http://ncfire.info/crimearchives.htm
This ongoing illegal alien crime wave against NC citizens has got to stop. It is killing us: financially, emotionally and physically.

Whoa: Obama Administration Denied "Repeated Requests" For Increased Security in Benghazi
Just when you thought the Benghazi massacre story couldn't get any worse, it does. Read this entire post -- the appalling hits just keep on coming. Let's start here:
House investigators warned Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to expect a hearing into their finding that American staff at the U.S. Embassy in Libya had their request for additional security denied by Washington officials. “Based on information provided to the Committee by individuals with direct knowledge of events in Libya, the attack that claimed the ambassador’s life was the latest in a long line of attacks on Western diplomats and officials in Libya in the months leading up to September 11, 2012,”
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and subcommittee chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, wrote Clinton today. They dismissed out-of-hand the suggestion that the attack ever could have been regarded as a spontaneous protest gone awry. “In addition, multiple U.S. federal government officials have confirmed to the Committee that, prior to the September 11 attack, the U.S. mission in Libya made repeated requests for increased security in Benghazi,” Issa and Chaffetz added (my emphasis). “The mission in Libya, however, was denied these resources by officials in Washington.” The committee noted 13 “security threats” in Benghazi, including an attempt to assassinate the British ambassador to Libya.
Those 13 threats weren't just chatter; the US consulate was targeted by two actual bombing attempts leading up to the 9/11 raid. Eli Lake -- who scooped everyone with the "day one" revelation that explodes the administration's excuses about their "spontaneous attack" lies -- reports:

Everywhere we look the masses are hurting. Whether it be the 100 million Americans dependent on the government safety net to survive, or the millions of Europeans rioting in the streets of Spain and Greece, a sense of serious crisis is in the air.
Over the last four years, slowly and without abatement, the economic outlook across the globe has worsened significantly.
In France, a new 75% income tax on individuals earning over a million Euro ($1.2 million) per year was announced today. Incomes of $150,000 will be taxed at 40%. French business owners and citizens are scrambling to leave the country to avoid the new legislation. This has been done to offset the billions being used to bail out failing banks and reckless government spending.
Similarly, in the United States next year, individuals and small business owners will be hit with massive tax increases as universal health care is implemented across America.
Last week the Spanish Congress had to literally barricade themselves behind police and locked doors as thousands of protesters stormed their Congressional hall demanding the resignations of every representative.
The austerity sledgehammer is coming down hard, and everyone is starting to feel it.
The response from the political and financial elite has been to continue doing what they’ve been doing, because somehow the same financial and economic policies they’ve implemented over the last four years, those which have done nothing to increase jobs or economic growth, are going to make a difference now.
The decline is happening before our eyes. Millions of people in once stable economies have been impoverished by job losses, taxation and out of control price inflation on essential commodities like food and energy.
Charlie McGrath, of Wide Awake News, warns that what’s coming next is a catastrophic implosion – and none of us will be spared:

Trinity Church members reveal Obama shocker!
Via Cousin John
After nearly four years in office, many Americans still express
frustration that much about Barack Obama remains a mystery as
establishment media remain incurious about the Democratic president,
while seemingly ready to dispatch crack investigative teams at a
moment’s notice to probe into the personal lives of Republican figures
such as Sarah Palin. Largely ignored in 2008 was research by the Hillary
Clinton campaign based on contacts developed with members of the church
Obama attended for two decades, Trinity United Church of Christ in
Chicago. This is the first of a series of articles WND has developed
from months of in-person interviews with church members who have known
Barack and Michelle Obama over many years. The sources requested that
their identities not be published because they believe their disclosures
would put their security at risk.
NEW YORK – Ten years ago, the New York Times reported on a growing underground subculture in the black community known as Down Low, comprised largely of men who secretly engage in homosexual activity while living “straight” lives in public.
It’s within that subtext that opposition researchers for Hillary
Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign began investigating rumors that
Rev. Jeremiah Wright was running a “matchmaking service” for members of
his Trinity United Church of Christ known as the Down Low Club, which
included Barack Obama.
Over the past several months, WND investigators have interviewed a number of members of the church who claim the president benefited from Wright’s efforts to help black men who engage in homosexual activity appear respectable in black society by finding them a wife.
The 2003 New York Times story, “Double Lives on the Down Low,” said that though many black men reject “a gay culture they perceive as white and effeminate,” they “have settled on a new identity, with its own vocabulary and customs and its own name: Down Low.”
The Times said that while “there are black men who are openly gay, it seems that the majority of those having sex with men still lead secret lives, products of a black culture that deems masculinity and fatherhood as a black man’s primary responsibility – and homosexuality as a white man’s perversion.”
The Down Low Club at Trinity “doesn’t have meetings, and it isn’t like the Rotary Club,” a source identified for this article as “Carolyn” explained to a WND investigator in Chicago.
“It was more that Wright served as a matchmaker,” said Carolyn, a 20-year member of Trinity who has played a role in church administration and knows the Obamas personally.
Nothing we haven't known/suspected.

Should be at our NC PATCON: III Arms Pistol #4 Prototype.

NC PATCON
Because I tend to set aggressive timelines, sometimes we miss them by a hair. This is one of those times.
We have two World-Class 1911 builders putting together pistols to our specs that will represent the general configuration and quality III Arms intends to produce. Once you Founders and Supporters get your hands on them, you'll give your feedback, and the design can be tweaked if necessary.
Just remember, the purpose of the arms produced by III Arms is to take them into battle with absolute confidence that they will bring you home.
Pistol #4 you see above in Jim's shop. A few minor glitches resulted in that pistol arriving to Jim in the white (unfinished as contracted). Good for us Jim is a First Class finisher himself, and as you can see it will be ready for North Carolina, along with the two ARs he put together.
Our primary builder ran into a SNAFU when he ordered the first frame, and was delivered the wrong part. Caspian sent him a frame with a light rail. To show you the quality of this shop, he was able to call the owner of another World-Class shop (every one of you would know the name) and get a proper frame overnighted to him.
But that few lost days may (or may not) have screwed us for NC. We definitely will not have all three from Builder #1, but the Builder and Jim may be able to arrange to hook up for NC. Much depends on exactly when the Builder is satisfied with his finished work and decides it can leave his shop. If he gets it finished today or tomorrow, he'll be able to send it to Jim (who will already be on the road to NC, which is one of the coordination problems we are facing) on the road, or directly to one of our FFL friends in NC. I know the guys at CADD would have no problem receiving it if it is able to arrive in time.
But if the Builder isn't happy and decide not to ship until Saturday or Monday, obviously we'll have missed the PatCom by a few days.
It is what it is. You can blame me and my aggressive timeline. Cross your fingers, and hopefully it'll work out and we'll have 2 1911s at NC (one from each builder, so you can compare & contrast). If it doesn't work out, we'll still publish pics as soon as it comes in, and begin sending them out to gun shows with Jim, setting up Range Days, et cetera.
But either way, you'll have 1 1911 and 2 ARs, and the real attraction (which is Jim) at the PatCon.
Next Item: Bonnie Gadsden has set up a Citadel Facebook page, here. Drop in routinely to all of our Facebook and blogs and websites to add your comments. I'd prefer to migrate our conversations from this site to the dedicated sites, as this blog isn't the proper venue.
Holly and I have delayed our trip west for several days, trying to nudge that second 1911 to NC, but we can't delay any longer and are heading out. So I'll post here a bit, but it'll be pretty quiet until I get back. If we don't leave now we'll miss our first County Zoning meeting scheduled for next week.
And that simply can't happen.
My sincerest thanks to everyone who has supported these efforts for these past months.
Bonnie Gadsden used a phrase that is now common in our house: Pulling the rope. He said these projects have seen many Patriots pick up the rope and start pulling to help make them come to reality. Keep that effort going, folks.
Several great Patriots will be contributing at the various Facebook pages and blogs, so new info will be out there daily.
Stay safe.
