Girl Wrestling? Not For Real Men–Home Schooled
"Leave it to a young home schooled teenager to show America what it means to be a man–and a gentleman.
Last Thursday, February 17, 2011, a young teen-aged wrestler from Linn-Mar High, Joel Northrup, refused to wrestle a female opponent (watch video), Cassy Herkelman in the first rounds of the Iowa state wrestling championships.
In a remarkable move of common sense, young Northrup proved himself a superior man. No one forced him, only his own conscience and honor compelled him. Joel is home schooled, and is not controlled by peer pressure. Typically, the home schooled young person is independent, and finds himself rising far above the fray, not only in physical and academic achievement, but in spiritually–the highest kind of performance. Home schooled young people often become very effective leaders, simply by their inevitable superiority of character and judgment."
