Israel 2011 Part 2
My purpose for writing this series of articles is to help my readers have a better understanding of the state of Israel, the global political conundrum they find themselves in and the danger and inconvenience they deal with as a part of their daily lives.
There is no way you can document the history and perseverance of the Israeli people without mentioning the incredible suffering they have endured for millennia. The city of Jerusalem had been conquered at least 28 times and the consequences to the Jewish people have ranged from occupation, to exile in foreign countries to downright slaughter.
No people have been as persecuted, reviled or subjected to as many attempts at genocide as the children of Abraham, and I say this in all sincerity, they've had enough.
Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum in Jerusalem tells an unbelievable story of pogroms, humiliation, torture and mass execution that resulted in Israel's national slogan "Never Again".
Never again will the land of Israel be taken from the Jewish people, not by armies or politicians, not by the United Nations or all the might of Planet Earth put together.
Never again will the Jews suffer national humiliation and genocide at the hands of Hitler's Nazis or anybody else who would be foolish enough to test their national resolve.
I think it was best described on January 1, 1942 by a Jew named Abba Kouner imprisoned by the Germans in Vizna Ghetto "Brothers let us not go as sheep to slaughter it is better to die as free warriors than to live by the grace of murderers.
Resist! To your last breath!"
There is not a nation on earth that wants peace more than Israel, but not at the price of standing by and seeing their hard won Homeland carved up and handed out to their sworn blood enemies whose religious leaders tell them they have a right and a duty to destroy the Jews.
They will not stand by and let Hezbollah or anybody else lob rockets on to innocent civilians without retaliating.
For some unknown reason the world's media are against Israel and take the side of the Muslims in most cases leaving the Israeli side of the story twisted or untold, making an Israeli response to an unprovoked rocket attack appear as an act of aggression against a persecuted people.
Folks, please believe me when I say that The Israelis are not the aggressors in the Middle East. They have made concession after concession in an attempt to make peace with the Palestinians and the Arab world at large.
Nazareth, the birthplace of Jesus, Bethlehem, His boyhood home and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the most holy site in all Judaism are all in Muslim hands and admittance can be denied to Jews and Christians at any time the Muslims choose to do so.
With each concession Israel has made, the Muslims have promised peace only to occupy another piece of Israel and continue their war on the Jews. This has happened every time the Jews have yielded to international pressure and handed over another piece of Israel, it only results in moving their enemies closer to them.
How can you make peace with a people or an ideology that is dedicated to your destruction?
Yet every American President and other world leaders continue in an effort to force the Israelis to give up more and more concessions in return for nothing but more arrogance and bloodshed from the Muslims.
If the world had really wanted to do something to promote peace in the Middle East they would have long ago gone into Iran and destroyed their ability to produce weapons of mass destruction.
It could already be too late, the Iranians either have a weapon or are just before perfecting it and it will dramatically alter the balance of power in the Middle East.
This is not just an Israeli problem, but a world problem. Iran is the biggest threat to world security that exists on the planet today.
A nuclear-armed loose cannon is a terrifying thing.
Barack Obama made the statement that the New Haven Police Department had acted "stupidly" in it's handling of Professor Henry Gates when they mistakenly thought he was breaking into his own house. Remember the brilliant waste of time called the "Beer Summit"?
Well, President Obama acted stupidly when he said that Israel had to return to its 1967 borders.
Only one of two things could have prompted such a repulsive and ridiculous statement:
1. He has no idea of the geography of Israel.
2. His Muslim heritage is coming in to play.
Whatever it was, in the words of Bibi Netanyahu, "It isn't going to happen."
And Obama has pretty much admitted that he's not a Netanyahu fan. He was recently caught on an open microphone responding to French Prime Minister Sarkozy's suggestion that Netanyahu was "a liar," our President said, "You may be sick of him, but me, I have to deal with him every day."
We'll deal with the 1967 Israeli borders and the ramifications of such a disastrous move in later articles.
In the meantime…
Shalom, from the Holy Land.
What do you think?
Pray for our troops, and for our country.
God Bless America

ReplyDeleteI think Israel is going to hit Iran relatively soon since Iran has repeatedly said they're going to use a nuke on Israel as soon as they have one. The analogy I use to people is this:
Imagine I'm in a locked room with you. I'm on one end and you're on the other. I tell you that I'm going to shoot you in the head in 30 seconds as soon as I load the gun I have. Are you just going to sit there and do nothing the next 30 seconds?
