The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) in Washington has intercepted four leaked Department of Homeland Security (DHS) memos that are truly disturbing. Overall they indicate that President Obama has very little regard for the Constitution, Congress, or the American people but will do almost anything to accomplish his political and social agenda for the nation.
The first DHS memo dated February 26, 2010 was a staff paper outlining various options and strategies to grant millions of amnesties to illegal immigrants. One of the priorities was a quick registration program to make illegal immigrants holding American jobs legal. This is astonishing considering that 14 million Americans are officially unemployed and another 11 million have either given up finding a job or are part-time workers who cannot find a full time job. President Obama says jobs are a priority, but evidently not American jobs. His most concentrated effort is in making the eight million illegal immigrants in the American workforce legal.
This memo also contained this argument for administrative amnesties: It would “transform the political landscape by using administrative measures to sidestep the current state of Congressional gridlock and inertia.”
The term “deferred action” is used extensively in the memo to describe de facto amnesty. This is apparently going to be one of the new euphemisms for disguising amnesty in order to deceive the American public.
A June 2010 DHS memo on immigration stated that administration policy is “to reduce the threat of removal of certain individuals present in the United States without authorization.” The memo is essentially a strategy paper on how to bypass Congress and minimize the scrutiny of the American public in order to grant Presidential amnesties to millions of illegal immigrants.
A second and refining memo in June 2010 recommended “prosecutorial discretion” in enforcing U.S. immigration laws. In this memo, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton effectively ordered ICE field agents not to bother with enforcing U.S. immigration laws.
In August 2011, President Obama officially embraced the June 2011 memos as administration policy. This makes President Barack Obama directly responsible for intentionally minimizing the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws. His chief objective is to grant millions of administrative amnesties without Congressional support or approval. This is a serious violation of the Constitution that should demand Congressional rebuke and if necessary impeachment.
One of his political objectives has been fairly transparent to those who follow the tides of immigration issues in Congress. Most illegal immigrants in the United States are relatively unskilled and poorly educated. They also come predominantly from countries that are far more socialistic than the United States. Social studies indicate that their primary political interest is in strong social-welfare benefits. At a very minimum, amnestied illegals who become citizens could be expected to vote at least 75 percent Democrat.
All four memos cynically refer to the desirability of having an E-Verify program. But Obama’s purpose for E-Verify is not to prevent illegals from taking American jobs. It is to lend credibility to the impression that the Obama administration is enforcing immigration law, when it fact it is obstructing enforcement and preparing to pass out millions of amnesties under some other name. Obama’s version of E-Verify would also give “Safe Harbor” for employers while they waited for their illegal employees to be granted an almost immediate and indefinite “deferred action status”—de facto amnesty.
According to the public relations plan in the last of these memos, another euphemism for amnesty will be “administrative registration.” Administrative registration will simply register illegal immigrants and give them indefinite “deferred status—de facto amnesty. The next step would probably be quick citizenship and voter registration.
E-Verify is absolutely necessary to prevent illegal immigration and protect American jobs, but President Barack Obama wants to use it protect both illegal immigrants and their employers and to deceive the American people that U.S. immigration laws are being enforced and that no amnesties are being given.
Democrat Congressman Heath Shuler of the Eleventh North Carolina District is a sponsor of E-Verify legislation that has not yet seen the light of day. This may turn out to be the Trojan Horse that the President will use for his purposes. It would be safer and better to pass the E-Verify and Legal Workforce legislation sponsored by Republican Representative Lamar Smith of Texas. Smith’s bill should prevent the deceptive chicanery of de facto amnesty planned by President Obama and would be a serious step toward controlling immigration and protecting American jobs.
According to these memos, Obama’s political strategy is to introduce the Trojan Horse version of E-Verify in the late summer or early fall of 2012. This campaign effort will no doubt have the strong financial support of those who employ large numbers of illegal immigrants, and who are constantly lobbying for easy legalization of their workers.
Meanwhile the Obama administration is doing everything possible to obstruct the states of Arizona, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina from enforcing their tough new immigrations laws—laws made necessary by the President’s deliberate obstruction of American law.
An October 2011 memorandum entitled “Amnesty by Any Means” by CIS researcher Janice Kephart aptly describes the Obama administration’s devious and unlawful immigration policy:
“Current Obama administration immigration and enforcement standards are a purposeful subversion of the law in an effort to gain Latino voters; provide a “get out of jail free” card to many illegal immigrants in our criminal justice system; assure most of the illegal population work authorization with or without E-Verify; and sidestep Congress.”
Americans should not tolerate Barack Obama’s deceptions and unconstitutional tyranny. God help us, if we do not throw him and anyone who supports him out of office.
