- Hamburg city officials say
that owners of vacant real estate have refused to make their property
available to the city on a voluntary basis, and thus the city should be
given the right to take it by force.
- "The proposed confiscation of private land and buildings is a
massive attack on the property rights of the citizens of Hamburg. It
amounts to an expropriation by the state [and a] "law of intimidation." —
André Trepoll, Christian Democratic Union.
- "If a property is confiscated... a lawsuit to determine the
legality of the confiscation can only be resolved after the fact. But
the accommodation would succeed in any event." — Tübingen Mayor Boris
Palmer.
- Officials in North Rhine-Westphalia seized a private resort in the town of Olpe to provide housing for up to 400 migrants
- "I find it impossible to understand how the city can treat me
like this. I have struggled through life with grief and sorrow and now I
get an eviction notice. It is a like a kick in the stomach." — Bettina
Halbey, 51-year-old nurse, after being notified that she must vacate her
apartment so that migrants can move in.
- The landlord is being paid 552 euros ($617) for each migrant he
takes in. By cramming as many migrants into his property as possible, he
stands to receive payments of more than 2 million euros a year from
government.
- "Considering that migrants cannot afford to rent new
properties... moves must be initiated in which higher income households
purchase or build more expensive accommodations for themselves in order
to free up the less expensive housing for migrants." — The Berlin

I will say it again....I am ashamed of my German heritage. What happened to them? Goths are rolling over in their graves.

"The Koonce family of North Carolina originated in the Palatinate, the region along the upper Rhine River in Southern Germany, which supplied a large proportion of the Swiss and German colonists who founded the town of New Bern, NC in 1710 under the leadership of Baron Christopher De Graffenreid. The founder of the family in North Carolina was Johann Christian Kunitzsli, which was anglicized to John Koonce. John, his wife, and six children, survived the hardships of the voyage to America only to encounter worst misfortunes upon arrival in Virginia in April 1710.
These Palatines who survived the arduous voyage traveled on foot to Colonel Thomas Pollock's plantation on the Chowan River instead of re-embarking in Virginia, because of the Privateers and the Sand Bars at the mouth of the James River. From there they crossed the Albemarle Sound into Bath County and were located in May or June by John Lawson on land between the Neuse and Trent Rivers, called by the Indians "Chattooka." They brought their Bibles, Hymn books, catechisms and long guns. It was from the long guns, originated and made exclusively in the Rhineland Region, that the famous Kentucky long rifles evolved. They settled on plantations allotted to them along the Neuse and Trent Rivers and their tributaries and lived prosperously until September 1711. When the tribes of the Tuscarora Indians became increasingly incensed by the encroachments of the white settlers, they combined forces and laid waste a large area, massacring a large proportion on the colonists, including one-third of the Swiss and Palatines of New Bern. John Koonce and his family, with the exception of one son, George, were included in this slaughter by the Indians."

My mother's family is from the Rhineland but was a latter day immigrant via Ellis Island in the '30's. Dad's family was from Berlin. They met in Brazil. Good German stock that stood up for what they believed. I am glad they are no longer alive to see what is happening over there.

She had more food during the war years living in Germany than she had the two years after when the allies were in control.

That will happen here in America. Obama has been working to issue regulations forcing racial integration in neighborhoods. The policy is called, "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing." It will require HUD to gather data on segregation and discrimination in every single neighborhood and try to remedy it. You will only be able to sell your home to certain “qualified” (based on race) buyers for any federal loans. All cash or alternative financing will not have a problem. But, buyers of a certain race (white) will find they do not qualify for government financing if the neighborhood is too white.
