Does E-Verify Create a National I.D.?

Via Billy

Eagle Forum has sent out multiple emails in support of Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s (R-VA) Securing America’s Future Act (H.R. 4760). Recently, there has been quite a bit of misinformation spreading about the bill, specifically on E-Verify. Some news outlets have reported that it will create a national identification card with biometrics. That is simply not true. On page 125 of H.R. 4760, the bill retains the current statutory prohibition on the E-Verify system being used as a national identification card.
The language is as follows:

“`(8) LIMITATION ON USE OF THE VERIFICATION SYSTEM AND ANY RELATED SYSTEMS-

`(A) NO NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD- Nothing in this section shall be construed to authorize, directly or indirectly, the issuance or use of national identification cards or the establishment of a national identification card.”

How Is It Possible The The Democrats are This Stupid?

Via comment by JWMJR on Devin Nunes to FBI: 'No surprise' to see FBI and D...

I just can't understand it. The Democrats aren't really this stupid are they? The do know that teleVISION is a visual medium right? I mean good grief every political consultant in the country and beyond knows that people key on visual perceptions much more strongly than verbal ones. Just dig up Richard Nixon and ask him how that televised debate worked out.

Seriously did nobody tell Nancy beforehand that looking like you were choking on her own bile was not a good image? Could they not figure out, especially after this year's NFL season, that sitting on their hands while the President talks about respecting our nation's flag is a visual that will be used against them? It was like the entire broadcast was a custom made opportunity for Republican video tape editors.

If all those optics weren't bad enough we then got the spectacle of the newest Kennedy iconography presenting the so-called "Democratic Response". Firstly nobody in their right mind thinks Droolin' Joe Kennedy wrote that awful speech.

Seriously at first look all I could think of was Bevis getting wasted on paint thinner. Beyond that, after lecturing us for a year or more about "toxic, white male privilege" I don't think they could picked anyone who is more of an elite, toxic, white privileged male. Just what is it about being a Kennedy that entitles you to a seat in Congress from Massachusetts or Rhode Island? Who's brilliant idea was it to pose a Kennedy in front of an apparently non functioning automobile? Beyond the hood being up the only thing missing was an empty liquor bottle, a dead body and a discarded neck brace. I'm sure I could find a rusted out old Buick for the next go round.

I can only conclude at this point that either the Democrats have gone completely brain dead or the Republicans have a mole deeply embedded on the DNC strategic planning group. Either way, it's working out brilliantly...for the Republicans.

Jim Caviezel: ‘Passion of the Christ’ Sequel Will Be ‘Biggest Film in History’

 http://media.breitbart.com/media/2018/01/Jimjesus2.jpg

Jim Caviezel, the actor who memorably portrayed Jesus in director Mel Gibson’s 2004 blockbuster The Passion of the Christ, says that Gibson is planning a sequel that will be “the biggest film in history. It’s that good.”

The Passion is already one the biggest films in history. Fourteen years on it still holds the domestic box office record for an R-rated movie ($371 million). From Gethsemane to Golgotha, The Passion told the story of the last 12 hours of Christ’s life — his arrest, trials, torture, and crucifixion. The Faithful turned out in droves despite an unprecedented campaign within the elite media to smear a film they had not seen as anti-Semitic — which it is not.

The 49-year-old Caviezel says he is back on board to portray Jesus. The story will reportedly revolve around Christ’s resurrection. “There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience,” he told USA Today. “It’s great. Stay tuned.”

The Plundered South

Address by Sam H. Jones, Governor of Louisiana to the Southern Farm Bureau Training School, Monroe, La., August 18, 1943

The history of mankind relates many stories where superior military force has conquered nations of superior civilization. In the wake of overwhelming brute force the great citadels of culture and economic and social progress have fallen never to rise again. Egypt, Byzantium, Greece and Rome are but comparatively modern examples of these uncommendable sporadic outbreaks that unfortunately have characterized the course of mankind—and littered the rugged pathway of civilization’s struggle upward.

But here in America, for more than a hundred years, we have witnessed and lived through a more refined version of the same process—a process that has for its purpose the reduction of the fairest portion of our country to the permanent status of a conquered province—and the thwarting even of the laws of nature to perpetuate this unthinkable injustice. For more than a hundred years the Southern part of the United States has been the victim of a studied plan to overcome its superior economic advantages and reduce it to a state of economic vassalage.

ICE chief rips liberals: 'Sick and tired' of them trashing border cops

Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Thomas Homan blasted Congress on Wednesday for its decades-long failure to fix the root causes of illegal immigration, and warned against giving Democrats an extension of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program without real border security measures.

"If we get a clean DACA bill, shame on all of us. You can’t address DACA and reward people that brought children here illegally and not address underlying reasons of DACA," Homan told around 200 ICE officers, Border Patrol agents, and Department of Homeland Security officials here at the Border Security Expo on Wednesday.

He said the time for "kicking this can down the road" has passed.

The clash between House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and the FBI continued to simmer on Wednesday when the California Republican said that once “the truth gets out” about the classified memo his staff put together, “we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”

In a statement, Nunes said it is “no surprise” to see the FBI and Department of Justice “issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies.”

Nobody really expects the political operative careerists at the FBI or the DOJ to just give up and go away without a very nasty fight. As the scandle gets deeper and deeper it's now looking like Andrew McCabe is being set up as the fall guy, or more like the public is being set  up to accept him as the fall guy so that the rest of the bad actors can escape with their positions, power and pensions intact so as to continue to wage behind the scenes warfare against the President.

I have no doubt that McCabe has been told to fall on his sword in exchange for escaping prosecution and a fat numbered bank account somewhere untraceable.

Boeing wins $1.1 billion bonanza from GOP tax overhaul

Boeing, the planemaker behind one of the world’s most widely used single-aisle jets as well as the aircraft flown by U.S. presidents, received a $1.1 billion windfall from tax cuts approved late last year.

The gain was primarily due to a reduction in tax liabilities from previous years, which will be lower under the new top corporate rate of 21 percent than under the previous levy of 35 percent, the Chicago-based company said Wednesday. That helped boost net income 92 percent to $3.13 billion in the three months through December, building on delivery of a record 209 commercial jetliners, including the revamped and more fuel-efficient single-aisle 737.

The tax cuts will enable Boeing to spend $300 million in targeted areas including staff training and "workplace of the future" upgrades, CEO Dennis Muilenburg told reporters, with more investments to come.

Virginia General Assembly kills legislation to let cities remove Confederate statues

 https://media2.fdncms.com/styleweekly/imager/u/original/2909417/feat14_monuments_sons_of_confederate_verterans_2012_rally.jpg

Recycled talking points from Republican Ed Gillespie's gubernatorial campaign weren't enough to save legislation to make it easier for Virginia localities to decide the fate of their Confederate statues.
Early Wednesday morning, a House of Delegates subcommittee overwhelmingly voted down a series of bills to facilitate the removal or relocation of Confederate monuments.

Because another panel already voted down a similar bill in the Senate, Wednesday's vote means that Virginia, a state steeped in Civil War history that has more Confederate monuments than anywhere else in the country, won't be getting rid of its memorials to the Lost Cause any time soon.

Dennis Motherbaugh, after a temporary failure in his planned transportation plans was overcome when a White rights supporter voluntarily offered up their family’s rent money in order to buy him a bus ticket home, is out of jail finally and done with the travesty of justice which took place, and is still taking place, in Charlottesville.

James Alex Fields, the driver whose car was assaulted, causing him to lose control and hit some anti-White protesters unlawfully blocking traffic in the street, is still being held awaiting trial.

Richard Preston, 52, faces charges of discharging a weapon within 1000 feet of a school (which was  not in session at the time, as August 12th, 2017 was a Saturday) for firing a warning shot at a black terrorist using an improvised flamethrower against unarmed Whites.

Tyler Watkins Davis, 49, has been arrested in Florida on a warrant out of Charlottesville for defending himself against Deandre Harris, who was recently pulled over for speeding while out on bond for assault himself and found to be in possession of illegal drugs and a loaded, chambered AR-15 concealed in the back seat of his car.

Jacob Goodwin, who turned 23 in jail, is expecting another bail hearing in the near future.

Jacob Goodwin
#634728, 160 Peregory Ln, Charlottesville, VA 22902

The  next trial dates will be in  March. Jacob’s lawyer plans on asking for bail once again, based on Deandre Harris’s medical records which show that no physical injuries were sustained by Mr. Harris through his brief contact with Mr. Goodwin. Therefore, the state’s charge of ‘Malicious Wounding’ has no legal basis on which to continue. Depending on what level of bail is set, Jacob’s parents MAY have enough to have him let out to stay with a local member of the community. If a high bail is set, they do not. However, the monthly house arrest fee which is expected to accompany such a release until Jacob’s trial begins in May will be very expensive, around $400 per month. Your donations to help with this next stage of Jacob’s legal battle are greatly appreciated. You may use a credit or debit card or paypal to donate here, or you can send concealed cash or checks made out to “Goodwin” to: 13952 Libby Lane, Ward, Arkansas, 72176

You can also make direct contributions to Jacob’s canteen fund, to help him get better food, toiletries, and other small luxury items, here.

Thank you for continuing to pray for the Charlottesville defendants, and for your continued support of their families.

Tonight’s State of the Union speech was a triumph for President Trump. The speech was excellent, and Trump knew it cold and delivered it effectively.

The president began with a recitation of his administration’s achievements that was truly impressive.

Trump emphasized, appropriately, the remarkable gains our economy has made in just one year.

The president’s reception by most in the House chamber was rapturous, which must have been an eye-opener for some who watched. For the Democrats, the optics were very bad. They ostentatiously refused to stand or even applaud, even in response to the least controversial passages in Trump’s speech. One of the most striking visuals was of the Democrats’ Black Caucus refusing to stand for, or even applaud, the lowest African-American unemployment rate in history.

On the Brink of War

A review of Shearer Davis Bowman, At the Precipice: Americans North and South during the Secession Crisis, (University of North Carolina Press, 2010).

Shearer Davis Bowman presents a comprehensive view of the events leading to the secession of the southern states. Bowman (p. 12) explores “what Americans on the eve of the Civil War believe[d] about themselves and the world around them.”

One of the great strengths of the book is that Bowman includes perspectives from people from multiple backgrounds: northern and southern, famous and obscure, wealthy men and yeomen, men and women. The result is a fairly balanced and comprehensive narrative, not the usual morality tale of good northerners and bad southerners. Bowman notes (p. 64) that historian Robert Cook observed that white Iowans “had little affection for slavery, but even less for black people themselves.”

Bowman argues that this applies to white northerners in general. Bowman cites Edward L. Ayers’ comparative study of Augusta County, Virginia and Franklin County, Pennsylvania, in which Ayers observes that “despite the high-flying rhetoric about justice,” neither the Democratic nor the Republican Party “displayed any sympathy toward their black neighbors.”

Bowman explains the blundering generation thesis (p. 30), when he writes that:

Five Immigration Facts Americans Should Hear About in Tonight’s State of the Union Address

Via Mike

Tonight is President Trump’s first official State of the Union address. Article II, Section 3 of the United States Constitution mandates that the president “shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.”

Since Woodrow Wilson, presidents predominately use this speech to publicly share their vision on issues currently facing the nation. Tonight, Americans are likely to hear about a wide range of topics such as infrastructure, foreign policy, healthcare, and immigration.

Immigration is still one of the biggest issues that the United States faces, and frustration with the system under President Obama was a primary reason why Donald Trump was elected president.

Therefore, it makes sense that it should be one of the primary focuses in his speech tonight.

While there are many things Trump could educate the American people about concerning immigration, here are five things people need to know about the state of the immigration system in America today:

Democrats panic over avalanche of good economic news

Democrats sound plain silly as they continue to attack the GOP tax cuts.

Former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said at a recent town hall that $1,000 bonuses “wouldn’t go very far,” and they were taxable, so it wouldn’t really be $1,000 after all. Amazingly, she also said she hadn’t heard of any bonuses bigger than $1,000.

Is she really that out of touch? As Fox Business host Charles Payne noted in a tweet, Wasserman Schultz represents a district where the median household income is $50,000. Does she think her constituents wouldn’t welcome a $1,000 windfall?

Reality doesn’t care about politics. No matter how good a policy or political program looks on paper, the ultimate test is whether it actually works in real life.

There are plenty of “good intentions” that turn into disasters. It’s the job of the entire country to take a hard look at real-life results, and avoid denial when the evidence shows that something might be wrong.

One piece of that evidence is homelessness. It’s not a comfortable topic, but living on the street is an unfortunate reality for over a half-milion Americans. If you listen to the left, it’s greedy, money-grabbing Republicans who hurt the poor — but what does actual reality show us?

FBI Deputy Director McCabe 'Removed' Day After Bureau Reads Memo

Memo said to reveal corruption, collusion between Obama admin, Clintons and Justice Department

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has been “removed” from the bureau following FBI Chief Christopher Wray reading the secret FISA memo alleging wrongdoing by the Justice Department and Obama administration.

McCabe’s roles in both the Clinton email investigation and Russia probe came into question after it was reported last week that he, in addition to former Director James Comey and Rod Rosenstein, is named in the 4-page memo drafted by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) alleging “shocking” revelations of collusion and corruption.

McCabe’s removal comes the day after acting FBI Director Christopher Wray read the memo on Capitol Hill on Sunday.

Donald Trump Jr. sparred with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Twitter over the suspicious timing of McCabe’s departure.

“Yeah right, that’s why he stepped down a day after the FBI saw the FISA memo and the day the House votes on its release. Sure. That’s it,” Trump tweeted Monday. “Now the other media sheep have their talking points. Go spread the gospel. Who do you think you’re kidding at this point?”

Sectionalism Returns

Recently Michael S. Greve of George Mason University Law School wrote an insightful article which contends that sectionalism has reared its head again. This new sectionalism is dividing the states along the lines of economic interests, which also happen to be aligning nicely with current ideological and partisan fault lines as well. Professor Greve rightly points out that the states are in a war to see who can impose the most and the highest “rival costs” upon their sister states.  Greve views this new emergence of sectionalism as hopeful, the only way perhaps that one can limit the power of the central government in a federal republic.  He is further encouraged that the new sectionalism is not about “race” anymore, though I have a few cousins-in-law in blue states who might disagree.  Nevertheless, Greve’s article chronicles well how the limitation on the SALT deduction has brought the issue of sectionalism once more to the fore.

During an interview broadcast on Monday’s edition of the Fox News Channel’s “Daily Briefing,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said 2017 was the best year for conservatives in the 30 years that he’s been in Washington, and the Trump administration has been a “very solid, conservative, right of center, pro-business administration.”

McConnell said, “2017 was the best year for conservatives in the 30 years that I’ve been here. The best year. On all fronts. And a lot of people are shocked. Because we didn’t know what we were getting with Donald Trump. He was doing fundraisers for Chuck Schumer three or four years ago.

But this has turned out to be a very solid, conservative, right of center, pro-business administration.

And we’re seeing the results of it.”

House Intelligence Committee Votes to Release the FBI Memo

The House Intelligence Committee voted Monday to release a classified memo to the public detailing alleged abuse by senior Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigations officials in their investigation of the Trump campaign.

The committee voted on a party line, according to the Ranking Member Adam Schiff (D-CA), who gave a press conference after the decision.

President Trump now has five days to object to it. White House lawyer Ty Cobb told Politico in a statement:
“No decision will be made on the release unless and until the Congress, after the required vote, provides it to the White House.

“There it will be subjected to appropriate and serious review before a decision is made.
The President strongly favors transparency for the American people and has urged the Executive Branch to cooperate with Congress to the fullest extent appropriate.”
The memo reportedly details — among other things — how senior officials abused FISA to obtain a surveillance warrant on Trump foreign policy campaign adviser Carter Page.

At their Sept. 22, 2017 meeting, the N.C. Historical Commission voted to postpone until their April 2018 meeting any decision regarding a petition from the N.C. Department of Administration to relocate three Confederate monuments from the State Capitol grounds in Raleigh to the Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site in Four Oaks, N.C. How Trump’s Immigration Proposal Could Be Trouble for Democrats

The latest White House immigration proposal seems to be going nowhere fast. As laid out by the famously restrictionist White House adviser Stephen Miller, it offers DACA-type protections and even a “path to citizenship” for 1.8 million Dreamers — more than double the number covered by President Obama’s DACA program. But, in exchange, the deal would involve significantly beefed-up border security and internal-enforcement resources, as well as big changes to the legal immigration system. Hard-core conservatives (including Miller’s boon companions at Breitbart News) hate the “amnesty” offer. Immigration advocates hate everything about it except for the Dreamer protections. Both Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi rejected the proposal out of hand.

Cartridge Showdown: 9mm Versus .45 ACP

“Trying to stop a bad guy with a nine mm is like trying to stop a charging buffalo with a twenty-two. Might as well use a fly-swatter”. Such statements were common when I was a kid, and at the time there was some truth to them. Many experienced shooters, veterans, and L.E. officers still preferred the hard-hitting .45 ACP, (Automatic Colt Pistol) to the 9mm with its smaller, lighter and more streamlined projectile. Their opinions were founded on the battlefield and in the streets, and it was hard to argue with them.

A California city is launching the first US experiment in basic income — meet the 27-year-old mayor behind it

Via John

Stockton, California made national news last October when it announced it would host the first US experiment in basic income, a system of wealth distribution in which people receive a standard salary just for being alive.

The plan, spearheaded by Stockton's 27-year-old mayor, Michael Tubbs, will likely begin sometime in August 2018 and involve at least 100 people of varying income levels getting $500 a month for three years.

Ever since it declared bankruptcy in 2012, Stockton has been in recovery-mode, and Tubbs sees basic income — a growing topic of discussion around the world over the past couple years — as one way to rehabilitate the city.

New Book: McCabe Initiated White House Meeting That Led To Leak

This story gives a glimpse into how the original Russia narrative may have been spread around to overly compliant journalists and other members of the 'resistance.'

The FBI’s top brass initiated conversations with a White House official that were quickly leaked to CNN, according to a new book.

Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe asked to speak privately with White House chief of staff Reince Priebus following a February 2017 intelligence briefing. The scene is described in “Media Madness,” Howard Kurtz’s new book on the press and its relationship with the Trump administration. McCabe said he asked for the meeting to tell Priebus that “everything” in a New York Times story authored by Michael S. Schmidt, Mark Mazzetti, and Matt Apuzzo was “bullsh-t.”

Two government officials familiar with the matter confirm to ABC News that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is stepping down immediately.

He had long been expected to retire from government in March, when he was eligible to receive his benefits for his years of service. Now, he is vacating his post atop the FBI and taking time away from the agency — but he will technically remain an employee of the bureau until his official retirement in March.

Powerful: Kesha was joined by Cindy Lauper and Camilla Cabello for an emotional Grammys performance of her song 'Praying' -  which deals with the effects of the abuse she suffered at the hands of 'Dr Luke' Gottwald

There was no doubting the highlight of last night’s Grammys.

It came when Kesha gave an emotional performance of her single “Praying”, about the alleged sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her former producer ‘Dr Luke’ Gottwald.

She was introduced by Janelle Monae who delivered a powerful speech to the star-studded audience.

‘We say time’s up for pay inequality, discrimination or harassment of any kind,’ Monae declared, ‘and the abuse of power.’
