They act like bullying and mass shootings are the only bad things that can happen. Bullying is so broadly defined that it happens to every child every day. And mass shootings happen so infrequently that you child is more likely to be struck by lightning.
Every day thousands of children are molested. Thousands more are assaulted. Thousands per year are killed in traffic going to school. Thousands raped by other students. And most parents and school administrators have been perfectly willing to view those as acceptable losses to achieve the greater goods of "socializing" and free babysitting. If you willingly put your kids in public school, you volunteered them for all of this. Mass shootings are insignificant by comparison.
