Newt Gingrich: Democrats have no idea what demons they are unleashing

A few weeks ago, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) wrote an article for Vox explaining the movement’s goals – to end capitalism and radically change America.

In normal times, the declarations of a fringe party and ideology in America would not merit much attention. However, these are not normal times. A new Gallup poll shows that 57 percent of Democrats have a favorable view of socialism – while only 47 percent view capitalism positively.
This pattern has been building for a while. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont took socialism mainstream in the party during the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries. Since then, Democratic Party candidates have been increasingly attaching themselves to the ideology.

Most notably, a telegenic young member of the Democratic Socialists of America named Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defeated a senior Democrat in New York City’s 14th Congressional District and has since been on a whirlwind media tour, spreading the gospel of socialism.

  2. Naïve Socialist embracing Millennials are proof of the 6 decades of Academia brainwashing by Communist imbeds. Years ago my daddy constantly reminded me: "Don't wish for something because you just might get it!"

  3. They're the modern "useful idiots" of Lenin's Bosheviks. They are like some of their grandparents or great grandparents back in the 30's and 40's who thought Joe Stalin was a swell guy and the Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics was the worker's paradise. Yet they demonize their opponents as NAZI's, the German acronym for the National SOCIALIST Worker's Party. Sounds pretty much the same to me, except the Communists killed about 10 times more. 1. Like I keep saying, there's a reason I spend 1/3 of my take-home pay on private school. And even then I need to take care to watch what's taught.

    2. Absolutely as the vast majority of private schools tow the PC line. I like Patrick Henry College in my old stompin'grounds of Fauquier County, Virginia, Mosby Country.

  5. When I was in the 5th grade about 1960-61, my "old school" teacher taught us how Castro was, at first, considered a good reformer when leading the revolution against the evil dictator in Cuba, but immediately turned it into a worse one of Communism. She had a piano and we sung ALL the verses of the Star Spangled Banner, one or two of which would be banned today. She taught us to read well, write well, "cipher" , science, geography and to appreciate our American heritage. --Ron W

    1. Those were the days. We had a small number of Cubans who attended my military school and a few went back to fight Castro and at least one was killed. https://freenorthcarolina.blogspot.com/2014/07/a-cuban-refugee-familys-first-fourth-of.html
