You’ll not visit another home like Walter Place. It is unique. Walter Place took the large columns and broad pediment style of Greek Revival houses being built across the South in the 1850s and elevated it to a grander scale
Took the wife and daughter there on a day excursion away from Corinth where we spent about a week or so back in 03. The most kind elderly lady who ran the Confederate Museum down town, happen to be the mother of the current owner. We were not lucky enough to take a tour of the home , but were allowed a tour of the grounds. Simply splendid place. One of our favorite family trips of all time. It is so hard to believe Mayme was in the Seventh grade then Oh how time flies.
