Why did the illegal-immigration issue launch Donald Trump’s campaign? Why did his recent tense press conference exchange with Univision’s Jorge Ramos please even some of Trump’s liberal critics? What is it about illegal immigration that has finally turned off so many Americans?

1. Race

Over the years immigration activists successfully deconstructed the complex issue of illegal immigration into a race and class morality tale of privileged whites picking on poor brown people. The operative buzzwords were “racism,” “nativism,” and “xenophobia.”

That theme is now mostly bankrupt given that every great lie eventually falls from its own weight.

Third National Returns to Danville ... in a BIG Way

On Saturday, at 1:00 p.m., a crowd of 200 gathered at the foot of the Robertson bridge in Danville, on land recently purchased just for the purpose of erecting a Confederate memorial, to raise the THIRD Memorial Battle Flag erected in Danville since City Council voted to remove the Third National Flag from the Confederate Memorial on the grounds of the Sutherlin Mansion, the Last Capitol of the Confederacy.

Russia to Begin Airstrikes Against ISIS in Syria

Western diplomats say a Russian expeditionary force has arrived in Syria and will operate, according to the Israeli website YNet, as a Russian forward operating base.

“In the coming weeks thousands of Russian military personnel are set to touch down in Syria, including advisors, instructors, logistics personnel, technical personnel, members of the aerial protection division, and the pilots who will operate the aircraft,” writes Alex Fishman.

“The current makeup of the expeditionary force is still unknown, but there is no doubt that Russian pilots flying combat missions in Syrian skies will definitely change the existing dynamics in the Middle East.”

NC: Free, Family-Friendly Outdoor Events Scheduled for Sept. 26

The calls to kill get louder

As a grimly relevant adjunct to my previous post about crime, cops and communities, the voices calling for racially-based violence (especially against police) got louder last weekend.

Members of the #FYF911 or #F**YoFlag and #BlackLivesMatter movements called for the lynching and hanging of white people and cops. They encouraged others on a radio show Tuesday night to “turn the tide” and kill white people and cops to send a message about the killing of black people in America.

One of the F**YoFlag organizers is called “Sunshine.” She has a radio blog show hosted from Texas called, “Sunshine’s F***ing Opinion Radio Show.”

During the show, callers clearly call for “lynching” and “killing” of white people.

It looks like Charles Barkley's move to the GOP – at least for the 2016 presidential race - is all but complete.

The Alabama native and NBA Hall of Famer said Friday that African-Americans have traditionally voted for Democrats but have not seen benefits from the support.

"Black people have been voting for Democrats their whole life, and they're still poor," Barkley said on "The Dan Patrick Show." The comments were first reported in the Chicago Sun Times.

Most Americans think of Mexicans as short and dark, despite the fact that Mexican President Vicente Fox is tall and white. So what really is a Mexican, and who is in charge of Mexico? Americans are getting a confused picture, while illegal immigration is rampant, with all its attendant ills. Americans see hordes of swarthy, illiterate workers, yet American media flaunts a “white,” professional Mexican, as president. The reality is the white upperclass really does rule Mexico. Their chauvinism – and the lack of patriotism shown by most of the Mexican population – has helped create America’s illegal immigration problem.

Two weeks ago, authorities combing through disgraced former IRS executive Lois Lerner’s e-mails released a message she sent to a subordinate who had complained about a Texas Tea Party group. “Look my view is that Lincoln was our worst president not our best,” she said.  “He should [have] let the south go. We really do seem to have [two] different mind sets.”  She also insisted in 2012 that, “We [the U.S.] really need to split in two — we are so polarized that we can’t do anything constructive.”

Lerner hails from Massachusetts, and her comments about Lincoln and secession sparked some debate in the press about her political views.

Prepping 101: TEN BUCKS – Worldwide All Band Radio Scanner

 

How important are survival communications? From a prepping budget perspective, I’ve asked that question a lot. And unfortunately, as with many subjects I’ve covered, there is a ton of misinformation out there about the subject. When you buy a “survival radio,” like the ones with the little solar panel and hand crank, you are buying a multi-band receiver, and you’ll pay more depending on how many bands you want.

A basic radio, some even under $20, will be AM/FM, and most of them also have the NOAA weather channel, which is 162.4 mhz and a few other places. Pay a little more and you may get some of the Ham radio bands, but you will seldom hear any traffic on those bands, because the included whip antenna is not made for those frequencies. Police, fire, airplane, and a hots of other frequencies that would be nice to monitor in a survival situation are not in those radios. Getting all of those frequencies, until now, has been very expensive.

This article is about a newer type of radio called “Software Defined Radio,” or RTL-SDR, and it changes everything.

A 14-year-old Las Vegas boy armed with a .22-caliber rifle protected his 6-year-old siblings during a brazen daytime home invasion.

Andrew Mason was watching over his brother and sister when he heard a “thud” at the door. He didn’t answer, but the knocking got louder, until ultimately the suspects broke down the door.

“It’s pretty intense,” said Andrew. “Once I heard that thud on the door, my heart was just racing.”

** 23 police officers have been gunned down this year, so far, in the line of duty.Black Lives Matter protesters marched in Minnesota this weekend chanting, “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.”

 The panderers at the Democratic National Committee passed a resolution on Friday supporting the Black Lives Matter mob movement. The resolution also condemns police in America for shooting unarmed black men.

Atrocities Against The Danube Swabian - Starting in 1944

1. Central Civilian Internment and Labor Camps - The imprisonment of the Danube Swabians in internment camps began in December of 1944 and was completed by April 1945.  There were three kinds of camps:

1. Zentralarbeitslager “Central Labor Camp”
2. Ortslager “Regional or District Camp”
3. Konzentrationslager fuer Arbeitsunfaehige “Concentration Camp For Those Unable to Work”

 In the Central Labor Camps most of the inmates were men who were put into work groups and put to hard labor.  In the District or Regional Camps, the local Danube Swabian population was interned, often in their own villages as a stopgap method.  The Concentration Camps were for women, children and older men unable to work.  But in some cases, mothers were separated from their children and teen-agers were later taken to the Labor Camps with them as well.
