1984: NYPD dispatches 1,000 officers in NYC to enforce social distancing as weather warms up

 NYPD dispatches 1,000 officers in NYC to enforce social distancing ...

As warmer weather tempted New Yorkers to come out of quarantine, police dispatched 1,000 officers this weekend to enforce social distancing and a ban on congregating in public spaces.Officers set out on foot, bicycles and cars to break up crowds and remind those enjoying the weather of public health restrictions requiring they keep 6 feet away from others.

“I believe with the warm weather people will come outside,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Saturday. “You can’t stay indoors all the time. People will come outside and that’s great, go for a walk. But respect the social distancing and wear a mask.”

The New York City Police Department has made 60 arrests and issued 343 summonses related to social distancing since March 16.

That time when Donald Trump saved a Georgia farm

Via Reborn

 Dated

One narrative emerging around the surprisingly resilient Donald Trump portrays the brash billionaire as a final card laid down by Republican blue-collar voters who see their way of life — and their political clout — draining away in a bathtub spiral.

Trump has been a man of last resort before. Right here in Georgia, in fact. And if his Republican presidential machine doesn’t seize upon the tale in the next few weeks, as he and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas battle for Southern votes, then someone in the Trump campaign will be guilty of gross incompetence.

It happened in 1986, in the midst of the worst farm crisis since the Great Depression. In Burke County, on Georgia’s eastern border, farm after farm was folding.

Exclusive — Treasury’s Monica Crowley on U.S. Reopening: ‘Rebound Will Be, Hopefully, as Quick as the Shutdown’

 Monica Crowley and Steven Mnuchin

Treasury Department spokeswoman Monica Crowley told Breitbart News on Saturday that she believes President Donald Trump is perfectly positioned to oversee the reopening of the United States economy.

Crowley appeared on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel on Saturday to discuss the reopening of the country as the health risks of the coronavirus crisis recede and public health officials guide the safe lifting of lockdowns nationwide. Asked how Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin intend to “Make America Great Again” again—to bring the economy surging back to where it was—she said Trump is the man for the job.

Southern Rock for the Apocalypse, Part IV

A list compiled by Brion McClanahan, Tom Daniel, and Jeff Rogers

Ballad of a Southern Man – Whiskey Myers
Whiskey Myers shows that you can still be proud of being Southern and commercially successful in the modern age. In fact, that might be why they are. The band is as non-PC as any mainstream act in the business, and “Ballad of a Southern Man” is a full expression of the paradox of Southern life: despair filled with hope and defiance in search of acceptance

100 in 100: NC Edgecombe County’s Buck Leonard, Negro Leagues superstar and Hall of Famer

North State Journal’s 100 in 100 series will showcase the best athlete from each of North Carolina’s 100 counties. From Alamance to Yancey, each county will feature one athlete who stands above the rest. Some will be obvious choices, others controversial, but all of our choices are worthy of being recognized for their accomplishments — from the diamond and gridiron to racing ovals and the squared circle. You can see all the profiles as they’re unveiled here.
Edgecombe County
Rocky Mount's Walter "Buck" Leonard was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in February 1972 after a terrific career in the Negro Leagues.

It’s difficult to quantify just how great a hitter Walter “Buck” Leonard was since he came along before Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier and played his entire career in the relative anonymity of the Negro Leagues.

So leave it to fellow Hall of Famer Monte Irvin, who played briefly against Leonard before moving on to the San Francisco Giants, to provide a description

The Three Nations of Covid and a Windbag Named Fauci

......................And folks, even the Virus Patrol hardliners don’t claim their lockdown orders are designed to prevent 3-day hospital stays by people who get an unusually stubborn case of the winter flu. This is about death prevention and that’s why they run the Chyron of Death across the CNN screen day and night.
But there is zero correlation:
  • California: Heavy lockdown, 4.6 deaths per 100,000;
  • Iowa: No lockdown, 4.3 deaths per 100,000;
  • Texas: Light lockdown, 2.4 deaths per 100,000;
  • Washington state: Heavy lockdown, 10.0 deaths per 100,000;
  • Colorado: Inconsistent lockdown, 12.2 deaths per 100,000;
  • Georgia: Late Lockdown now lifted, 10.0 deaths per 100,000;
  • Maine: Heavy Lockdown, 3.8 deaths per 100,000;
  • Massachusetts: Heavy Lockdown, 45.7 deaths per 100,000.
We call attention to Washington state, Maine and Massachusetts especially because even though they all have severe statewide lockdown regimes and their overall mortality rates very widely, from 3.8 per 100,000 in Maine to 45.7 per 100,000 in Massachusetts, they do share one thing in common. To wit, 40-60% of their Covid-fatalities have been in nursing homes.

Multiple Instances Where Former FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Who Set Up Meeting with General Flynn at the White House, Lied and Lied

How does McCabe, who was not present at the Flynn “interview”, know the precise timings of Flynn’s observations about “black sky”? That’s not in Flynn’s 302. Does McCabe have the contemporaneous notes? Why can he use this information in his book but it is not produced in court?

 Image

Dirty Cop Andrew McCabe lied so many times it appears he rarely told the truth.  Here are three recent events that prove that the former FBI Director lacked candor in about everything.

Former FBI Director Andrew McCabe was fired from the FBI.  His level of integrity was never in doubt – he had none.  For example, we know McCabe signed off on one of the FISA warrants to spy on Carter Page.   We also know that comments he made in his testimony in front of Congress conflicted with those made by former DAG Rod Rosenstein.  But there is much more.

California Cities Vote To Sue Governor For Closing Their Beaches

WI Health Officials Debunk Media Claim: No Link Between In-Person Voting, COVID Cases

Wisconsin’s decision to hold its presidential primary election as scheduled on April 7 became a lightning rod of controversy after fearmongers warned that it would lead to an uptick in COVID-19 cases and deaths.

That controversy was then attached to a broader discussion by Democrats and the establishment media about the supposed public safety merits of requiring mail-in voting for the November general election.
But that uptick in coronavirus cases never materialized, and a month later, a panic-driven narrative meant to assist in forever altering how Americans vote has been busted.

AG Barr: It’s Time to Roll Back Coronavirus Restrictions Imposed by State and Local Governments (VIDEO)

Via Billy

US Attorney General Bill Barr on Friday said it’s time to start rolling back Coronavirus restrictions imposed by state and local governments.
Barr made the statements during a nationwide “Ask the AG” Twitter question-and-answer session.
Barr argued that the government had the right to impose reasonable and temporary restrictions when facing immediate catastrophic danger to public safety, and asserted the Bill of Rights doesn’t go away during a crisis like this.

Barr said the government is required to justify the restrictions and now that the “curve has been flattened” it’s time to adjust.

WHO Declares Sweden's COVID Response a Model for the World

Via Schuyler

 740x494

The World Health Organization (WHO) this week praised Sweden as a potential “model” for battling the COVID-19 virus sweeping nations around the world.

Sweden, unlike most other nations, has avoided the hardline approach to the novel coronavirus pandemic that has resulted in mass economic shutdowns and vast unemployment. Bars, restaurants, libraries, public pools, and most schools remain open in the nation of 10 million, which has drawn fire from critics skeptical of the state’s “laissez-faire” approach.

On Wednesday, however, the WHO’s top emergencies expert said Sweden’s social distancing policies are often misunderstood.
