The South 1861-1877

In 1860-1861 the Federal government of the United States of America was taken over by New England radicals, fanatics, zealots and hypocrites. Most people in the South were in favor of gradual emancipation of slaves and slavery was already a dying institution before the war. There were 5 times as many abolition societies in the South as in the North. It was the Northern states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and New York that had brought the slaves from Africa to America by ship. They sold the slaves to the South and then their hypocritical Yankee descendants accused the South of grave moral sin for having slavery. New England had grown to prosperity based upon the slave trade.

In 1857 fanatical abolitionist Hinton Helper wrote a book “The Impending Crisis of the South”. It was a terrorist manifesto. It PROMISED (not threatened) that a massive slave rebellion would be fomented that would result in the deaths of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of Southern men, women, and children if the South did not immediately free slaves. This Terrorist Threat was of concern to all Southerners rich, poor, and in between, not just wealthy plantation owners. Southerners were aware that in the 1790 era in Santo Domingo (Haiti) virtually every white French man, woman, and child was murdered in a massive slave rebellion. In 1859 terrorist and psychopath John Brown tried to start such a rebellion. The New England radicals and fanatics financed Brown’s raid on Harpers Ferry Virginia.

The Republican Party from 1854 to 1877 was what the Democratic Party is today-Socialist promoters of Social Engineering. 68 of 117 Republican Senators and Congressmen had signed a resolution based on the Helper book advocating and supporting terrorism against the South. It was the “Agitation against Slavery” and not the “Perpetuation of Slavery” that coupled with an unfair and unjust sectional tariff in combination with major Religious and Cultural differences that caused Southern secession. The Constitution of the Confederate States of America prohibited the international slave trade. The South was paying 75-85% of the cost of operating the Federal government via the tariff. 80-90% of this tax money was being kept and spent in the North. Lincoln had promised the New England Industrialists that he would raise the tariff higher if elected and he did. New England industrialists wanted the South to pay for the industrialization of America with little or no cost to themselves. The upcoming MORRILL TARIFF Tax was 40% or more and the South did not have the votes to stop its passage.

The Southern states were offered the CORWIN AMENDMENT to the U.S. Constitution on March 2, 1861 that would have made slavery permanently legal in America if they would rejoin the Union. The Southern States declined to be “TAX SLAVES” and treated as an Agricultural Colony of the Industrial North. The goal was Southern Independence. Lincoln’s “Save the Union” rant was a code for “Keep the Tax Money Coming”. The famous English writer Charles Dickens stated “The Northern onslaught against Southern slavery is a specious piece of humbug designed to mask their desire for the economic control of the Southern states”.

The “War of Northern Aggression” that followed was an epic struggle in which the South outnumbered 3 to 1 and with most manufacturing located in the North fought heroically and valiantly for INDEPENDENCE from the tyrannical, despotic, and dictatorial North. Lincoln, Sherman, Sheridan, Hunter, Custer and other Yankee officers were WAR CRIMINALS of the most vile type. They murdered, raped, tortured, robbed, stole, plundered, pillaged, and burned their way across the South. After destruction of the South, Yankee terrorists and psychopaths carried out a war of extermination against the Native American Indians. Yet modern liberals and dishonest Northern historians have attempted to claim the “Moral High Ground” for the North because slaves were freed following the war by the 13th Amendment. The Northern radicals, fanatics, zealots, and hypocrites did not free the Southern slaves for humanitarian reasons. They freed them so they could be given the right to vote and be used and manipulated to keep corrupt Northern politicians and carpetbaggers in power. Former Confederates were prohibited from voting.

So called “Reconstruction” was the plunder, pillage, and rape of the Southern states. It was the most corrupt era in American history and the treatment of white Southerners was so horrible that reconstruction was harder than the actual war on civilians. Uncle Sam’s terrorist organization, the UNION LEAGUE, ruled by white Carpetbaggers had blacks to commit atrocities against white Southerners which included burning houses and barns, shooting livestock, poisoning wells, and committing murder and rape. This led to the formation of the KKK-a police and resistance organization and after Reconstruction it resulted in Jim Crow laws based on pre-war Northern Black Codes. Northern politicians have attempted to drive a wedge between white and black Southerners since about 1830 and their efforts continue to this day.

The Chinese Are Coming, And They Want America's Pork (& everything else)

Via NC Renegade

Moments ago, news broke that in a stunning M&A move, an American pork icon - Smithfield Foods, may be acquired as soon as today by China's Shuanghui, also known as Shineway, which is China's largest pork producer. The Chinese are coming, and they want America's pork. It unclear how soon after the deal gets clearance by the Committee on Foreign Investment (if it does at all) will the US be subject to that well-honored China excess pig "clearance" strategy: floating 'em down the river.

From WSJ:
Chinese meat producer Shuanghui Group is close to a deal to acquire Smithfield Foods Inc. for between $4.5 billion and $5 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.

The sale of the Smithfield, Va.-based pork and meat producer could be announced as soon as Wednesday morning, and comes on the heels of agitation from a large shareholder to split up the company.

The bid by Shuanghui, also known as Shineway, represents a roughly 30% premium over Tuesday's close of $25.97, the people said. But a deal could be subject to review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, they said.

Smithfield's board of directors is concerned about the deal passing muster with CFIUS review, said a person familiar with the matter. The deal is structured with a reverse breakup fee in the event that the deal falls apart due to regulatory issues, the person said.

Founded in 1936, Smithfield has a market capitalization of $3.6 billion as of Tuesday's close.

Shuanghui Group, based in Henan province in central China, is the holding company for Henan Shuanghui Investment & Development Co., 000895.SZ +1.47% which is publicly listed in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. Shuanghui is China's largest pork producer, according to the company, and it sells products under the English name Shineway.

A spokeswoman for Smithfield couldn't immediately be reached.

Carroll County Nullifies Maryland Gun Control Legislation With 2nd Amendment Preservation Act

Via NC Renegade

In a victory for Maryland concealed carry, open carry, and gun Rights, Carroll County has passed resolution 884-2013, a Second Amendment Preservation Act.

“The Board reasonably believes the MFSA to be “pretended” (unconstitutional) legislation and be it further resolved that the Board, in affirmation of the Second Amendment rights of the citizens of Carroll County, herein direct that Carroll County Government will not authorize or appropriate government funds, resources, employees, agencies, contractors, buildings, detention centers or offices for the purpose of enforcing any element of the MFSA that infringes on the right of the people to keep and bear arms” [Source Legislation]

Two other counties, Cecil and Harford, have also joined Carroll County, Maryland, in nullifying new Maryland gun control legislation, which
  • Bans 45 types of Rifles
  • Bans magazines carrying more than 10 bullets, criminalizes the utilization of said magazines already owned
  • Deputizes doctors against patients, encourages reporting of gun owners to government, prohbits ownership of guns by “mentally ill” deemed so by the State
  • Requires fingerprinting for new handgun purchases
  • Requires licensing and training for new handgun purchases
What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?” -Thomas Jefferson

The Right to bear arms is the fabric upon which other Rights find their peace and defense.

An individual must be able to defend his own life to exist, thus, the Right to bear arms is self-evident, accompanying your existence.

“Forming One of the Most Splendid Empires on Which the Sun Ever Shone”

 http://www.confederatecolonel.com/wp-content/uploads/ConfederateStatesofAmericaSeal-300x300.jpg

Before the 1860 political campaign many of the overstretched bands holding the United States together had been broken; the John Brown raid of 1859 convinced the South that a more perfect union with the North was not practical.  President James Buchanan’s noble speech of the time rightly noted that “Our Union rests upon public opinion, and can never be cemented by the blood of its citizens shed in civil war. If it cannot live in the affections of the people, it must one day perish.  Congress possesses many means of preserving it by conciliation; but the sword was not placed in their hands to preserve it by force.”
Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission

“Forming One of the Most Splendid Empires on Which the Sun Ever Shone”

“In surveying the secession movement of the lower South, the evidence points to the conclusion that it was not a conspiracy of a few leaders, but a genuinely popular movement. It is true that minorities in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas were opposed to immediate secession.  Yet the Southern people had contemplated the probability of dissolving the Union for ten years, and had debated the pros and cons in countless debates.

The wave of rejoicing throughout the lower South which followed the passage of the secession ordinances indicated a deep popular approval. The common people of the South, except in the mountain and hilly area which jutted into the South from Pennsylvania, agreed with the aristocrats that the victory of the Republican party was a danger to Southern society which must be met by secession.

The rise of this new [Confederate] nation was a part of that romantic nationalism of the mid-nineteenth century which was agitating Europe.  At last the dream of Southern nationality….seemed to be realized – the romantic vision expressed by Langdon Cheves ten years earlier at the Nashville Convention: “Unite and you shall form one of the most splendid empires on which the sun ever shone.”

The secession of the lower South marks the end of a long period of sectional adjustment by the fine art of compromise.  The exercise of this art is indispensible in a democratic country like the United States, containing regions with clashing economic interests and difficult race problems.

Traces of old sectional animosity have survived below the Potomac…..Today [1949] the South remains the most self-conscious of American sections and fro years to come is likely to preserve its deep regional feeling.  Such a state of feeling may be a powerful force for good, since it resists the standardization of life in America.

The true function of this regionalism is to preserve the rich variety of life in the United States, which is so stimulating to the development of literature, art, and intellectual activity.”

Blazing with the fire of combat, Jackson rode onto the coaling. He congratulated Taylor and promised him the captured guns. The enemy staggered, but it didn’t break. They preserved formation even as they left the field along the road to Conrad’s store – pressured all the while by Taliaferro and Winder.

Tired after the last few days, the Southerners were not able to pursue rapidly – the infantry pounded out four or five miles and the artillery pushed a few miles farther. The spoils included about 450 prisoners, 800 muskets, one more cannon and some wagons. “Ever laconic, Jackson dispatched a one-sentence telegram to Richmond advising, ‘Through God’s blessing the enemy near Port Republic was this day routed with the loss of Six (6) pieces of his artillery.’…Long after the war Richard Taylor recalled, “I have never seen so many dead and wounded in the same limited space.

** In the painting, The Grim Harvest of War, the artist chose to show Major Wheat in uniform, but not “bloody as a butcher”. Southern casualties: 816 killed and wounded Union losses including prisoners: 800-1000 Area of the coaling: (Killing?) less than 1 sq. mile

***********************************

A few days before Memorial Day in 2002, a Sons of Confederate Veterans camp received an email from a lady who apparently had been receiving the camp’s newsletters. Her letter was courteous, expressing her puzzlement and dismay at the tone of the SCV’s material and voicing her hope that Southerners could set aside their resentments, be good sports and “live in peace in this great country.”

Her post was eventually forwarded to Roger McCredie, who had not yet joined the staff of the SLRC, but was the SCV’s immediate past Chief of Heritage Defense, and McCredie answered on his own initiative. His answer is even more relevant now, over a decade later, as the runaway train of political correctness threatens to overrun Confederate history and heritage. Here is McCredie’s reply:

 *********************************

Dear Ms. Kinley-Ruth:

You appear to be a genuinely decent and thoughtful person, and your post is doubtless well intentioned. One of your remarks deserves to be addressed in some detail. You say, “I never know whether you folks are really talking like this because it keeps the fervor going for your re-enactments or because you are still so angry, after all these years.” Because you do seem to be an empathetic person, let me try a little role-reversal on you.

Suppose that you had been born and raised in a place whose history, culture, traditions, mindsets, and values set it as much apart from the rest of the “United States” as Switzerland is from France, or Ireland from England. Suppose you loved this place, its people and your own place in it very deeply; suppose, in fact, that you were so much a part of it that it was hard to tell where you stopped and it started.

Suppose this place you cherished had once found itself at odds with other members of the Union it had helped found; had attempted peaceably and in good faith to leave that Union, in accordance with the provisions of that Union’s very own constitution; and had instead been invaded and obliged to fight a horrific war against overwhelming odds, during which its cities were looted and destroyed, its countryside ravaged, and its civilian population robbed and brutalized. Suppose that having lost that war, your homeland was further crippled by a dozen years of corrupt and vindictive military occupation called, with supreme irony, “Reconstruction.”

Suppose that this place you love subsequently became the repository for all of America’s frustrations, the object of its ridicule and cynical exploitation, and the whipping boy for its national racial guilt trip. Suppose you had to listen to the daily litany of how your homeland was a dark and backward place populated by incestuous mongoloids. Suppose you were ridiculed for your accent, and for your unabashed love of God, place, and family.

Suppose you found your history turned inside out and your heroes vilified in order to appease the professionally offended. Suppose your children were expelled from school, ostracized and even beaten for displaying the symbol their great-great-grandfathers fought under. Suppose that some municipalities where your brave dead were buried, far from home, refused to allow their graves to be decorated, even for a few hours, with the flag they died for. And suppose that when, as an American, you objected to this very un-American treatment, you were told to sit down and shut up, or be branded a racist, a white supremacist, or even un-American yourself.

That’s a great deal of supposing, I know, but try to manage it, if only for a second. Now consider your original remark in light of it. Our experience as Americans has been painfully different from yours in some respects. On the day known as Memorial Day, this difference is particularly poignant for us, when our Confederate dead are systematically excluded from national mourning. We have – or try to have – our own Confederate Memorial Days, state by state, but often these are given no official sanction. And you ask if we are angry.

Suppose you were us.

HSLDA: North Carolina Senators Need to Hear from You this Recess

 North Carolina

Thank you for defending parental rights.

Dear North Carolina Members and Friends:

The U.S. Senate will hold hearings on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) after the end of the congressional recess on June 3. Your senators, Richard Burr and Kay Hagan, are key senators in keeping this treaty from passing and need to hear from you.

Senator Burr voted against the treaty when it came before the Senate last December. Please contact him to thank him for his vote and encourage him to stand firm in his opposition of the CRPD.

Senator Hagan voted in favor of the treaty last year, but we believe she could be persuaded to change her mind if enough constituents contact her. We ask that you contact your senators and ask them to vote against the treaty when it comes up again.

Here are three ways that you can help:

1. Please call your senators at all of their offices and urge them to oppose the UN CRPD. Phone numbers are below.

3. Email your senators. You can use HSLDA’s new emailing tool to personalize and send a prewritten letter to your senators by filling out your information here.

Your message to your senators can be as simple as the following:
“I urge you to oppose the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
This treaty surrenders U.S. sovereignty to unelected UN bureaucrats and will threaten parental care of children with disabilities. Our nation already has laws to protect Americans with disabilities. This treaty is unnecessary and will hurt families by giving bureaucrats the power to decide what is in the best interests of a child with disabilities, not the child’s parents.”

Thank you for joining us in this battle to protect our children and our children’s future. You defeated this treaty last year. Standing together, we can defeat this treaty once again.

Cartels: Coming To A Town Near You

Via Horace

 cartels-through-texas

What had been an open secret is no longer secret: Mexican drug cartels are now openly carrying their war into Texas.

The question is whether or not the federal government is intentionally allowing it to happen.

In spite of assurances from Department of Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano ("the border's never been more secure"), a cartel hit man pulled off a trademark, brutally violent execution in the quiet suburb of Southlake Wednesday night.

The murder of 43-year-old Juan Guerrero-Chapa, a ranch owner and lawyer from Nuevo Leon, Mexico, who had been residing in Southlake for two years, was accomplished by "an organized, professional criminal outfit," police told reporters.

"Obviously the nature of this homicide, the way it was carried out indicates –– and I said indicates –– an organization that is trained to do this type of activity," Police Chief Steve Mylett was quoted during a news conference at the Southlake Police Department. "When you're dealing with individuals that operate on such a professional level, certainly caution forces me to have to lean towards that this is an organized criminal activity act."

According to news reports, Guerrero-Chapa was shot dead at 6:47 p.m. in a parking spot in the 100 block of Grand Ave. at the Town Square, a popular outdoor shopping mall. He arrived with his wife about 45 minutes prior to shop. And as Guerrero-Chapa's wife loaded bags into their SUV, another newer model white SUV pulled in behind it.

Texas Nationalist Movement - 1 Kanye West - 0

Via Horace

 Kanye-West-Denied

On Saturday, May 25, the Texas Nationalist Movement received word that performer and noted lip-sync mogul, Kanye West, would be engaging in a guerilla marketing stunt for his newest music video by projecting it on the wall of The Alamo at 11:30PM on Sunday.

We immediately alerted the Regional Director for Region 20, Jim Deslatte, and the Captain or our ceremonial Alamo Guard, Chris Jacka. Our members and supporters were mobilized for an onsite protest and a phone campaign.

Jerry Patterson, the head of the General Land Office, whose office is in charge of administration of The Alamo, the San Antonio Police Department and the Department of Public Safety were all notified by the TNM. Until the avalanche of phone calls, emails and Facebook messages by our members and supporters none of them knew about West's publicity stunt.

Daniel Miller, President of the Texas Nationalist Movement, received a personal message from Commissioner Jerry Patterson in the early evening that stated, "I think if Mr. Kanye is planning on doing something at the Alamo tonight he's gonna be disappointed."

Word spread quickly across Texas about our planned protest and people began arriving at The Alamo at 8:30 PM.

The members who arrived onsite first were notified by the Alamo Rangers, the official Alamo security details, that we were expected and that they would be working with SAPD to stop any attempt to defile the grounds of The Alamo by using it for a publicity stunt.

Moonshine Is Growing in the U.S., and Big Whiskey Wants a Taste

Via WiscoDave

For decades, most people had never even seen a jar of moonshine, let alone  tasted it. These days, you can find it at stores and restaurants around the  country thanks to loosened liquor laws and changing consumer preferences. Even  the industry’s biggest distilleries are experimenting with moonshine.

Moonshine has been distilled in backwoods Appalachia since the 1800s. By its  most traditional definition, the term means “illegal spirit,” and many families  in that historically independent-minded, libertarian-leaning area of the U.S.  made a living off making it — partly because the liquor could be produced and  sold quickly, as it didn’t require years of aging in barrels. (That, by the  way, is also what gives the hooch its oftentimes harsh character.) Today,  moonshine is generally used as a catchall term for unaged white whiskeys, many  of which are made in Tennessee and North  Carolina.
