Tell us again, Moms Demand Action, why we shouldn’t have the right to defend ourselves from brutal and senseless assaults like this when we go out in public.
A Kroger employee tells WMC Action News 5 that the attack happened at the Kroger near Highland Street and Poplar Avenue.
Accroding to police, three people were jumped by a large group of teenagers who were chanting “fam mob.” The group, who came from CiCi’s Pizza, reportedly attacked a 25-year-old customer as he left his car to enter Kroger. Two employees, ages 17 and 18, were attacked while trying to stop the fight.
Both were “struck several times in the head and face, while being knocked to the ground.” The victims say large pumpkins were thrown at their heads. They both eventually were knocked unconscious.

Scottish Independence Supporters Lead Poll For First Time
Via Billy
Supporters of Scottish independence have taken their first opinion poll lead since the referendum campaign began, according to a YouGov survey for the Sunday Times newspaper.
With less than two weeks to go before the Sept. 18 vote, the poll puts the "Yes" to independence campaign on 51 percent, with the unionists on 49 percent, overturning a 22-point lead for the unionist campaign in just a month, the Sunday Times said.
Save your Confederate money boys, the South's gonna' rize again! :)

Zimbabwe: Go Back to England, Mugabe Tells Whites
Via Nancy
PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe said Friday that whites who are still in the country should go back to England as he vowed that those removed from land redistributed to black Zimbabweans would never be allowed to return.
Mugabe was speaking during the installation of a chief at Murombedzi Growth Point in his rural Zvimba home area.
"The West prefers a weak leader who, they hope, would allow the whites to come back," he said, speaking in Shona.
"They think if they intimidate us we will be cowed and allow the whites to come back; that will never happen.
"Don't they (whites) know where their ancestors came from? The British who are here should all go back to England.
"What is the problem? We now have aeroplanes which can take them back quicker than the ships used by their ancestors."
'Cause we just so much better running this country than whites before........

Obama's ISIS strategy 'dead in the water': President's 'coalition' plan can't match jihadi firepower
Such a dorkhead.
Obama has been pushing at the recent NATO summit for the formation of a coalition to resist ISIS, but Great Britain has been stressing such a force should not be Western led. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and other administration officials have, in turn, been reaching out to nations across the Middle East.
Many of the key Sunni countries, such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, however, not only channel money to ISIS, but also have militaries inferior, particularly in command and control and tactical maneuvering, to ISIS’ capabilities – and its fanaticism and ferocity on the battlefield.
ISIS was able to score early battlefield successes against an Iraqi army that initially scattered upon being attacked, abandoning much of its modern – and expensive – Western military equipment for ISIS’ use.
This development came after the United States over a decade had spent hundreds of billions of dollars to train and equip the Iraqi army, only to have it evaporate on ISIS’ initial assaults into the country last June.
This acquisition of powerful military hardware, along with its takeover of oil wells and the robbing of banks approaching a billion dollars, allowed the Sunni jihadist group to incorporate vast amounts of territory, military bases and other strategic infrastructure facilities, which the Iraqi army now finds difficult, if not impossible, to retrieve.

Carolina Gold Rice, A History
Carolina Gold rice, a long-grain rice of slender size and ambition, first surfaced in South Carolina just after our Revolution. Clean, sweet, and non-aromatic, it prospered in coastal Carolina and Georgia bogs and did its fluffy separate-grain thing in a traditional black iron hearth pot, or potje, complementing the African-style stews it attended. In colonial Charleston, African slave women hand-pounded and winnowed hulls from the rice grains with mortar, pestle, and fanner basket. The resulting rice, scrubbed golden white through abrasion, contained whole and broken grains, with germ and flecks of bran intact. Its flavor and texture were exquisite. Barely a long-grain rice by definition and nearly a medium-grain in its dimension and diversity of cooking application, Carolina Gold had attributes substantial enough to appeal to a broad international market.
The Civil War brought the culture and cuisine of Charleston to its knees, and though Carolina Gold continued to set quality standards for American rice into the 20th century, it ultimately lost ground to new varieties and became, after the Depression, virtually extinct. In the mid-1980s, a plantation owner from Savannah collected stores of Carolina Gold from a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) seed bank and repatriated the rice to its former home along the coastal wetlands south of Charleston. Anson Mills began growing heirloom Carolina Gold for research in 1998 and today has organic rice fields in Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Texas.

Eagles Island reveals a piece of its history at low tide, when neatly placed wooden fences peek above the murky water.
Eagles Island reveals a piece of its history at low tide, when neatly placed wooden fences peek above the murky water.
The fences stand out as
the sole man-made objects among swampy reeds and cypress tree debris,
relics of the once vibrant rice plantations that lined the Cape Fear and
Brunswick rivers.
More
than 60 plantations dotted the waterways in northern Brunswick County,
and an estimated 50 percent of Eagles Island was once rice fields,
according to James Kapetsky, a consultant mapping and studying the
history of the fields for the Eagles Island Coalition.

Salafist Muslim Group Forms 'Sharia Police' Patrol in Germany
Via Carl
Small groups of hardline Salafist Muslims have been patrolling the streets of a German city hoping to "influence and recruit young people," police said. The groups were seen in the western city of Wuppertal wearing bright orange reflective vests with "Shariah Police" on the back. "This was seen as a violation against Germany’s public assembly law and charges were filed,” police spokesman Andre Schwanicke told NBC News. Officials say they have increased the police presence in the city.

Report of the History Committee, United Sons of Confederate Veterans, July 1900
The
report of the History Committee below expressed concern that “tens of
thousands of boys and girls are growing up into manhood and womanhood
throughout the South, with improper ideas concerning the struggle
between the States; and with distorted conceptions concerning the
causes” of the war. They sought remedies for this deplorable state of
affairs.
Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
"Unsurpassed Valor, Courage and Devotion to Liberty"
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"
Report of the History Committee, United Sons of Confederate Veterans, July 1900:
“We
have asked each member of our committee to urge upon each camp in his
State the importance of gathering reliable data for the use of the
future historian. This is a sacred duty that we owe to the living and to
the dead and to those who are yet unborn. The establishment of truth is
never wrong.
When
we realize, as all of us must, that from the gloom of overwhelming
defeat at the hands of superior numbers a righteous cause arises and
appeals to posterity to render the verdict in accordance with the truth,
loyalty to the memories of our dead, patriotism, and self-respect all
urge us to go forward in our work till we are amply repaid for all of
our labors by a glorious consummation of our undertaking.
Your
committee has made an earnest effort to ascertain what United States
histories are used in the schools of this republic. We have, so far,
not found a single Southern history north of the Ohio and Potomac
Rivers.
In
the South thousands of schools use Northern histories. We do not
condemn any work solely on the ground that it is a Northern publication .
. . What we desire placed in the hands of the millions of American
youth is a work that metes out exact justice to both sections of our
great country; a work that tells the truth, and nothing but the truth.
Below,
we give an extract from an article recently written by a man of
Northern birth, Northern education, and Northern principles. The subject
that he discusses is “Unfair School Histories.” In speaking of some
recent Southern publications, he objects to them because they glorify
the South rather than the whole Union. He says:
“It
cannot be supposed that such histories will have a permanent place in
any school of our land, but why are they adopted in preference to those
hitherto in use? Because the books of Northern authorship exhibit an
offensive and unfair sectional bias. Northerners may not see it, but it
is there. Our school histories seem to need revision.
Do
our [Northern] textbooks impress the fact that slavery existed in many
of the northern States also in the early years of the century? That it
was New England votes, combined with those of the extreme South, that
prolonged the slave trade twenty years, against the protest of the
middle South? Do our school children realize that secession was boldly
and widely advocated in New England in 1814?
Do
they think of the Southern leaders as high-minded, noble, and devout
men, who fought with consummate bravery? Are we clearly taught that
many of those leaders were in favor of the gradual abolition of slavery?
That the questions involved were open to honest differences of opinion?
That financial considerations unconsciously biased the views of both
North and South on slavery?
The
truest history, as well as the most patriotic, is that which gives
great emphasis to the heroism and honesty, the manliness and Christian
character, of the combatants on both sides. No history is worth a place
in our schools that is not written in this spirit. [A recent Grand Army
of the Republic resolution] is altogether praiseworthy [and] recommends
that school histories use some designation like the “War Between the
States,” instead of the “War of the Rebellion,” thus avoiding a needless
irritation of Southern feeling.”
We
therefore recommend that there be a committee of three in each State to
work in conjunction with similar committees from the Veterans and
Daughters of the Confederacy. Let each committee find out what histories
are used in the different counties; find out their inaccuracies, and
point them out to the various county boards of education and to the
people generally.
Patriots
everywhere recognize the fact that the continued denunciation and
misrepresentation of any part of a common people is a danger to all, and
an infamy to all. Let the histories that our children study revere the
truth, and we shall be satisfied. Let them record that . . . the South
stood on lines of self-defense in battle and in doctrine . . . that the
South fought honestly and fearlessly, and that when its banner was
furled upon its folds not a stain was there to mar its beauty.”

Illegal Aliens
A few thoughts for Americans (justifiably) upset by the influx of illegal Mexicans:
First, they come because you invite them. In effect you say, “Diego, don’t you cross that river. If you do, and we catch you, we’ll just put you back across the border and you can try again, perhaps the same night. When you make it across, which is easy, we’ll give you a good job and, depending on where you are, a driver’s license, schools for your kids, welfare, food stamps, and medical care. Any children you have will be US citizens and, as we all know, sooner or later you will have amnesty Now, don’t cross that river, you hear?.”
That’ll work.
