Army calls armed citizens at recruiting centers a security threat

Since the horrific terrorist shooting at a Marine recruiting center in Chattanooga last week that killed five service members, citizens have been standing guard outside recruiting centers all over the country.

Last Friday, we told you about a man in Winchester, Virginia who started standing guard outside the military recruitment center the day after the attack in Tennessee. At the time, he asked us not to use his name, but the reaction to his actions has been so powerful that we can give you his name now -- Rick Hewitt.

But according to Stars and Stripes, the Army has put out a new directive to their recruiters to treat these armed citizens as a security threat.

Another group of men standing guard at a different recruiting center in Virginia say the Army’s order is an insult to them.

Some people are calling a religious group vandals and claim they broke the law when they dug up a patch of grass next to a Confederate general’s grave in a Memphis park Wednesday.

Thursday, a man drove hundreds of miles to plant new grass.

“When I saw this last night, my wife couldn’t understand why I was shaking so badly,” Scott Hudson of Lincoln County, Tennessee, said.

He watched WREG’s story on a group who dug up a patch of grass next to Nathan Bedford Forrest’s statue and grave.

A group was fed up with waiting, so they got a shovel and dug up a patch of grass next to Nathan Bedford Forrest’s grave and statue in a public park in the Medical District.

Protester faces off against man with AR-15 under defaced Confederate memorial in North Texas

Protesters defaced another Confederate monument in Texas early Monday morning. The message was clear: “This is racist” was spray-painted in a deep red over a memorial in Denton to Confederate soldiers.

Later that day, a 69-year-old Denton man named William Hudspeth went to the statue with cardboard signs that read "Please move the statute to a confederate museum," the North Texas Daily reported. Another resident met him there armed with an assault rifle.

Oklahoma State student and Denton local Stephen Passariello brandished the loaded AR-15 while entering into a verbal altercation with Hudspeth.

Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson are history in Connecticut.

Under pressure from the NAACP, the state Democratic Party will scrub the names of the two presidents from its annual fundraising dinner because of their ties to slavery.

Party leaders voted unanimously Wednesday night in Hartford to rename the Jefferson Jackson Bailey dinner in the aftermath of last month’s fatal shooting of nine worshipers at the historic black church in Charleston, S.C.

The decision is believed to be unprecedented and could prompt Democrats in other states with similarly-named events to follow suit.

I was among those in B'ham last Saturday and heard Anthony Hervey's speech, and he told the truth. Every word that came out of his mouth would be accepted as Gospel by any white Southerner that understands his/her history and was raised with Southern Christian values. This man's blood is now on the hands of Benedict Arnold Bentley, and Spineless Nikki Haley, both of whom could have nipped this media driven cultural genocide in the bud. Instead they have fomented a potential race war. We already have a white family in NC that had their vehicle shot up by lunatic Blacks because they were flying a CBF from it and a clash of the two races last Saturday at the SC Capitol, with several sent to the hospital and several arrested. Sporting Purpose – Just One of Many Problems with the 1968 Gun Control Act

The term “sporting purpose” is imbedded throughout U.S. gun control laws, and its use is a violation of the Second Amendment.

That has been my position for decades. My brother Chris raised the issue in a speech before the Gun Rights Policy Conference some three years ago, and our dad Neal Knox was making an issue of the language in the 1980s.

The “sporting purpose” language has been a plank in federal gun laws dating back at least to the National Firearms Act of 1934. The 1968 Gun Control Act, down to its current incarnation, institutes broad restrictions and prohibitions on a variety of firearms and ammunition, then exempt items that are deemed to be “particularly suitable for sporting purposes,” or are primarily intended for “lawful sporting purposes.”

As Dad used to say, “the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights are not about Americans’ right to keep and bear sporting goods.”

Meet the 39 Companies That Donate Directly to Planned Parenthood

In the wake of two videos allegedly showing Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of aborted fetal body parts, Republicans in Congress are working to ensure that Planned Parenthood is stripped of its federal funding.

However, it’s not only the government that fills Planned Parenthood’s coffers. According to 2nd Vote, a website and app that tracks the flow of money from consumers to political causes, more than 25 percent of Planned Parenthood’s $1.3-billion annual revenue comes from private donations, which includes corporate contributions.

2nd Vote researched the corporations and organizations to find which supported Planned Parenthood and found that more than three dozen donated to the group. Some companies donated directly, while others matched employee gifts.

Thirty-nine corporations and organizations directly contribute to the group.
