The University of Missouri is now threatening police action against speech.

What about the First Amendment?
The university told students to call police immediately if they experience incidents of hateful or hurtful speech.

Unreal.

Daily Caller News Foundation Iowa City Council Votes To Remove Memorial, City Votes To Remove The Council

The city council in Knoxville, Iowa, will be full of new members in January after a dispute over a veteran’s memorial bearing a cross led voters to boot out the incumbents.

It all started when Americans United for Separation of Church and State demanded that the city council take down a veteran’s monument in Young’s Park within the city.  The monument featured a soldier bowing before a white cross, but the Americans United found this an offensive violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment and threatened to sue.

The council voted to remove the memorial Nov. 2. Voters poured in the very next day to vote them out Nov. 3 in regular elections.

When conservatives complain about profligate federal spending, part of the problem is the sheer magnitude of the federal budget, where mere tens of millions seem hardly worth talking about in a flood of dollars, both taxed and borrowed, that is in the trillions.  That of course, allows all sorts of waste in which a few million here and there hardly seems worth fighting over.  Take for example, the FBI’s recent decision to reequip their agents with an entirely new and entirely unnecessary handgun, which will cost American taxpayers something like $80,000,000.

Migrants Rape Little Girls On Playground. School: “boys will be boys.”

Via David

Two African migrant students, most likely Muslim, groped and fondled two little girls at their middle school, and eventually raped one of them in the bushes. However, when angry parents demanded justice for their molested daughters, school management had just one thing to say.

On a Saturday in October, two young girls were attacked by a pair of African students who attended the same Swedish school as their victims, according to The Tundra Tabloids.

The terrified girls were sexually assaulted by the boys, but that wasn’t enough to satisfy the rapists-in-training. One of the migrant boys took his victim behind the bushes on the playground and brutally raped her as her friend stood by helplessly.

When the father of the rape victim found out about the attack, he immediately demanded that the school remove the boys and hand them over to the authorities. However, the school refused, smugly claiming that this was just normal adolescent behavior, and that “boys will be boys.”

Supreme Court may yet rule Obamacare unconstitutional

On October 26, 2015, the Pacific Legal Foundation filed a new challenge with the Supreme Court contending that ObamaCare violates the Constitution that requires all tax-raising bills to originate in the House of Representatives. They argue that it was raised by the Senate who took an unrelated House bill to aid veterans, gutted it, and replaced it with their own ObamaCare language; a charge that has not been denied.

At issue is Article I, Section 7 of the U. S. Constitution, known as the Origination Clause, that reads:

“all bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives.” This means that any law, which extracts money from the American people, can only come from the House. The problem is The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, originated in the U.S. Senate not in the House as constitutionally required and is now one of the largest tax bills in U.S. History.

Many of my columns speak highly of the wisdom of our nation’s founders. Every once in a while, I receive an ugly letter sarcastically asking what do I think of their wisdom declaring blacks “three-fifths of a human.” It’s difficult to tell whether such a question is prompted by ignorance or is the fruit of an ongoing agenda to undermine American greatness. Let’s examine some facts about our founders and slavery.

At the time of the 1787 Constitutional Convention, slaves were 40 percent of the population of southern colonies. Apportionment in the House of Representatives and the number of electoral votes each state would have in presidential elections would be based upon population. Southern colonies wanted slaves to be counted as one person. Northern delegates to the convention, and those opposed to slavery, wanted to count only free persons of each state for the purposes of apportionment in the House of Representatives and the Electoral College. The compromise reached was that each slave would be counted as only three-fifths of a person.

Comment by Danny on Farmer Smith and Modern Farming

The date of the photo is in the early '50's. According to the bumper, it's a Model A, instead of a T.
" I know well the story above. I think on it a good bit, too, from time to time.

My grandpa share-cropped cotton, corn and produce with his own mules; traded butter, eggs, milk, and produce with the rolling store for the things they couldn't grow/make, used a well/spring to keep things cooled ( til the ice wagons started running out where they lived ), raised hogs and butchered and smoked them, up until my daddy was 14 and all but two of the kids had married and left home, when he gave up and moved the rest of them to town, where he went to work at a veneer mill.

He then bought a cut-down Model-T Ford, that had 2 wooden boxes for seats and a flatbed for the body ( I have a picture of it ), and paid a man to teach my daddy's older brother to drive, so my uncle could drive my grandpa to work, my granny to the store, or wherever needed..

It was the only car my grandpa ever owned, and he never drove it. Nor did my granny, either.

They both died in the 1980's, in their 80's, still having never driven a vehicle.

Daddy said that grandpa never was the same, health-wise, after he moved them off the farm.

I almost forgot; they didn't have an indoor toilet until they were in their 60's.

I know the difference between the slop jar, and the slop bucket, myself. :)

Grandpa was down to just raising 3 hogs a year, when they moved off the farm. He would cure and smoke two for family, and whoever helped him with the killing would divide the other one. They would either let him cure and smoke it along with his, or take it with them when
they were through."
